Panicking citizens were everywhere, running into hiding, and knights and guards were everywhere too, turning the place upside down, looking for her. A knight spotted her and shouted to the other men; they all soon came running at her. She drew the sword and braced the shield in her other arm and charged too.
She swung her sword and hit a few men and then it would meet with the clang of another sword but not for long, being so small and agile she was able to duck and shove the guards to the ground.
Suddenly, the guards and knights stood back from her and the two Kings came running from Cair Paravel's entrance. They drawn their swords too and were charging towards the girl. King Peter's sword hit the girl's shield and she shoved him away while she duelled with King Edmund. He had two swords and aimed both at the girls head. The girl ducked and the two swords came close to her nose but then knocked his swords aside from her face and looked back up, luckily her hair was still tied up otherwise, she'd have none left with the way these men just swung their swords.
She looked at the two men and at once they both came at her. This time he shielded herself against Edmund and his sword clanged against the shield and then she hit Peter's hand hard so he dropped his sword and pierced him in the shoulder, he fell back clutching his now bleeding shoulder and she looked at Edmund. If it could happen, seam would have been coming out from his ears, he was staring at her with deep hatred, possibly because she'd just harmed his brother.
He swung is sword at her with anger colliding once again with her shield but the Wolf had grabbed hold of her wrist causing her to drop the sword, she shoved Edmund hard back with her shield then hit the Wolf around his head causing him to collapse, unconscious on the ground, she took a few steps back and discarded the shield. She pulled out the bow quickly and placed an arrow in the bow and aimed it at King Edmund.
"Drop it!" She hissed. "Drop your sword!"
King Edmund looked at her. "Make me!" He hissed back.
The girl looked intently at the younger King, she liked him, he had a fierce attitude and was very good at swordsmanship but he was stubborn and moody, why couldn't he simply put his sword down and let her be free.
"Drop your sword and I will go, I will leave and never bother you again." She said.
"How come I don't believe you?" The King said, with his sword raised at her.
"I don't know maybe you have trust issues." She spat at him. Control yourself, the girl thought; he is merely trying to get you distracted.
"Or maybe it's because you are a Telmarine, and they never keep promises."
"How do you know I am a Telmarine?" She shouted back. "What is a Telmarine anyway? Some sort of fruit!"
The King stared at the young woman and frowned. She didn't know who a Telmarine was, even though she had the unmistakable accent of a Telmarine.
"Don't act dumb with me." The King said, anger rising up in him to the point of it now boiling inside of him. "Drop your weapon and we might let you off lightly."
The girl laughed. "Look at who is the dumb one now! Do you really think you could strike me with that sword before I've hit you… twice?"
"I'll take my chances." And he jumped at her.
The girl let the arrow in her hand fly into the Kings wrist causing him to drop the sword and then she loaded the bow again and shot another this time through his shoulder. The King doubled over in pain and the girl spun and began to run.
"Stop her!" King Peter's loud but weak voice, shouted.
The girl heard running of hooves and feet, she saw that they let down the gate while she was occupied but she leaped up onto the gate and began to climb, she reached the watch corridor along the top of the gates but before she could steady herself a female centaur had injected more sleeping drought in her and she once again collapsed into the arms of the centaur.
The girl's eyes flickered open and found that she was once again in the dungeons but she'd been moved to a larger cell with thick metal bars instead of a wooden door. She blinked and looked at the man guarding her cell.
He was taller and broader than her last guard and had a hard, mean look on his face. He too was dressed in traditional Narnian uniform and was holding a very fierce looking weapon.
"Ah you're awake." The guard said.
"Do you have to keep putting me to sleep? It just makes me even crankier than before." She replied, rubbing the area of her neck were the dark once was.
"Well, if you would stop attacking us, then maybe it wouldn't be necessary."
"Well, if you would have just let me go or even left me in the woods, then I wouldn't have tried to break free, injuring a couple of the guards in the process." She said calmly.
"You are in here for your attack on the two Kings."
"Well, two big men shouldn't attack a small lady like me should they? They got what was coming for them by doing that. And that young King charging at me like that, of course I was going to shoot at him if he was going to come running at me with a sword, serves him right, though I am resentful of injuring the older King, he seems much nicer than the other, the other is so dark and moody; I wonder if her ever smiles. Does he?" The girl looked up at the guard from her cell and saw he was smiling at her. "What?" she asked.
He guards smile grew softer, along with the look in his eyes. "You are very mysterious. The Narnian healer said that you probably don't have any recollection of your past, which is why you attacked, you were frightened. And Telmarine is a fruit by the way." And then he laughed and the girl laughed with him.
"Well, I won't be strangling you any time soon." The girl smiled broadly up at the man.
"I'm thankful for that, my lady."
"Anyway what is a Telmarine? If it's not a fruit then what is it? A vegetable?"
And the guard erupted into laughter again. The girl did too as she found the older man's laugh contagious. Then someone cleared their throat and Queen Lucy was standing, looking completely out of place in the dark, dreary dungeon.
"I see you have calmed down." The Queen said and then smiled. "I am glad; the names Lucy by the way."
The guard had quickly got up and bowed and offered his seat to the Queen. "Your majesty."
"Thank you, Carlisle."
The guard smiled broadly as the Queen took his seat. "I've brought you something to eat from the castles kitchens." She presented the girl with a basket full of glorious and delicious food, it made the girls mouth water.
"Thank you for your hospitality but I can't have that." The girl pushed the basket away from the cell. "I've injured your two older brothers and the majority of your guards."
"Nonsense, those two needed a reality check and you gave it to them. No one's been able to fight against the two of them and win. And anyway, Peter is recovering fine. The wound isn't that deep so he is able to move, it's Edmund who got the most injured. Serves him right though. The whole in his shoulder is taking it's time to heal so his been ordered to be for a couple of days." Lucy brought out some fresh bread and handed it to her. "And anyway, I am sure that having to stay in the cell for the next four days with the food they provide that you'll need this."
The girl gaped at Lucy. "Four whole days?"
The Queen saw the look of horror on the girls face. "Oh no, it won't be that horrible you'll have dear Carlisle here to keep you company."
The girl got up and clung onto the railings. "Let me out please, not four whole days. I hate it, I hate it." She began to cry and the Queen clutched the girl's hands that were frantically tugging against the bar.
"What happened to you?" The Queen mumbled staring at the young girl, her heart breaking at the girl's reaction. "What is your name? Maybe I can help you."
The girl sobbed and pulled her hands away from the Queen and retreated back into the corner. "No one can help me, not when I don't remember anything."
"But maybe I can, please let me help you." The Queen begged, looking at the guard who was frozen on the spot staring sadly at the girl.
"No one can, so go away." The girl said. "LEAVE ME ALONE!"
The Queen jumped back at the girl's sudden outburst and turned to the guard, and whispered something to him; he nodded and looked at the girl with sympathy in his eyes. The Queen left and they were left alone together once again but they didn't speak at all.
The girl's dinner came and she wished that she had accepted Lucy basket of treats because the food they gave her looked as if it was meant for the Wolves. The guard too got his dinner and gave her half his loaf of bread. She mumbled a thank you and a slight smile played at her mouth. Soon, she was full from the bread and tired, so she snuggled down onto the floor and shut her eyes and fell to sleep.
The next morning, the girl had another visitor this time it was the older Queen. "Just call me Susan." She told me, when I addressed her as her majesty. She came with new clothes for her because as Susan had stated her clothes were getting dirtier each day see was in there, she was like an ornament on a shelf collecting dust. The girl refused her offer. Susan then asked her name, like her sister had the day before; but she turned her back and told her see wasn't up to talking. She didn't want to accept anyone's kindness because she had never experienced it before, she vaguely remembered being treated cruelly and people were cold towards her.
She'd been dreaming of a dank, dreary dark place like this but higher up, like a tower with boarded up windows. It caused her to scream out in the night, as her dreams often revealed different men entering her room and then it would go black and she could only think of the worse, what could have happened to her then.
On the third day of her imprisonment, High King Peter, after a lot of pleading from his two sisters but mainly Lucy, came to visit her. He offered to her that he could re-bandage her wounds and let her have a bath but she refused. So, when he too asked her name, she had expected it. "If you think offers of luxury would make me tell you my name, then you've got your strategies wrong."
Her wound had been cleaned while she was asleep the day before and the healer had ordered someone to change her bandages everyday otherwise it'll get infected but Ryder had denied anyone who tried. Carlisle, the guard, had offered to re-bandage them for her but she stated that she didn't care if it got infected maybe it would mean she could get out of the dungeons.
Kind Peter left without another word and she was once again left alone with Carlisle. She would have gone to sleep but every time she did her dreams became clearer and after about five minutes of sleep she'd awake herself and Carlisle with her blood curdling screaming.
