As she entered the Mystic Grill, Lydia wasn't so sure that it was a good idea after all. She had been bored to death, alone in the big Lockwood mansion, and she thought that it was time for her to go out and connect with people. Not that it had something to do with a classy english guy with sandy blond hair and beautiful blue eyes. Not at all...
-You can do it, she whispered to herself.
As she made her way to the bar (way less desperate than sitting alone in a booth), she noticed that a pair of icy blue eyes was studying her every move. She sat and turned slowly to get a better view of the owner of the gorgeous eyes and had to admit that the guy was hot. He raised his glass at her with a curious look on his face and she turned around, blushing. Did every guy of this town had to be freaking super models ?!
-What can I get you ? Asked a cute bartender
She thought about ordering a bourbon, but she knew that he was going to asked for her ID. Maybe she could try to hit on him, a little bit, just to get what she wanted and to see if she still had her "modjo".
-A diet coke please, she answered with a bored sigh, dropping the idea.
He gave her what she ordered and went on his little bartender routine. He didn't even try to talk to her.
-So gay, she muttered meanly against her clenched teeth.
She heard someone chuckle. The super model. She watched as he got up from his seat and walked toward her. He wasn't a teenager, but he didn't look too old either, just like Klaus.
-Can I get you anything stronger ? He asked while finishing his drink in one gulp.
She bit her lip and titled her head to the side, considering the offer. Con : she didn't know him, he could be a psycho or a murderer for what she knew. Pros : he was hot, she was bored, and she wanted the old Lydia back.
-I'm dying for a 23 years old Evan Williams, she sighed dreamily.
He raised a perfect eyebrow at her, a small smile dancing on his lips.
-Hum...you sure know how to pick a bourbon. Unfortunately, this place doesn't own such a beauty.
-Obviously, she spat in disgust.
He chuckled, amused, and took the sit next to her.
-Damon Salvatore, he introduced himself, holding out his hand.
-Lydia Martin, she answered and shook his welcoming hand.
It was surprisingly cold and it sent shiver down her spine. She broke the touch reluctantly, her eyes still glued to his icy blue orbs.
-So, you're not from this town, are you ?
-Nope, just moved in with my cousin.
-Why that ? He asked curiously
-I...hum...I'd rather not talk about it.
He looked at her, intrigued, as she played with her straw, avoiding his prying eyes.
-So, would you like to go to my place and drink the best burbon you've ever taste ? He offered in a (very) confident tone.
She turned back to him with wide eyes, amazed that he would ask such a thing. Did she looked like she was that easy ?
-No thanks, she scoffed, throwing her hair back with a perfectly manicured hand.
He grabbed it lightly but firmly and she shot him a death glare. He then looked at her deeply, his pupils doing a strange thing, and she found herself unable to look away.
-You want to go home with me. You find me irresistible and you'll do everything I ask you to do...
-Seriously ?! She mocked while breaking his grip on her hand. Those are your best pick up lines ?
He blinked at light speed, obviously confused, and she couldn't help but laugh.
-Who is your cousin again ?
-I didn't tell you, she answered, still laughing.
He looked so taken aback that she felt bad for him. Obviously he wasn't used to girl saying no to him.
-Why don't you get us drink while I wait for you in the booth over there ?
He seemed to consider the offer, still a little shocked that she turned him down, but he nodded nonetheless, his playful smirk back on his lips.
-Deal princess. You're definitely something, aren't you ?
She smirked back, and made her way to the booth without looking back. She could feel his burning gaze on her and she liked it. It felt good to flirt again, she had missed feeling powerful. Plus, she needed some practice before running into Klaus again. Because next time, she wouldn't be that shy. Sure, Caroline told her to stay away from him. But what she didn't know couldn't hurt right ?
She watched as Damon walked toward her with a bottle of bourbon and two empty glasses, his eyes never leaving hers. This was going to be fun !
