Chapter 15: The Comforts
Loki looked around the bottom floor of his parent's house. Steve lingered at the front door. Both of their book bags were on the floor. The raven haired teen made his way back to the blond. A small smile appeared on his face.
"It seems like everyone's gone for now," Loki said. "We could watch a movie."
"A movie sounds good," Steve said as the two of them headed into the living room.
The blond settled into the couch while Loki tried to pick a movie. Blue eyes watched the slender frame sway back and forth in thought. Loki's face wore a confused look as he turned to face Steve.
"I don't see a good one," he murmured as he walked to sit next to Steve.
Steve wrapped an arm around Loki's shoulder. A small kiss found its way to the top of black hair. A chuckle escaped the blond's lips.
"Don't worry," he said quietly. "Maybe we can find something on television."
"Maybe," Loki murmured as he reached for the remote.
For a moment the tips of their fingers touched. A red tint painted Loki's cheeks before he turned the television on. He began to flip through the channels. Without either of them noticing, the front door creaked open.
The remote settled onto Loki's lap after a couple of seconds. Without thinking, emerald eyes drifted to the front door. Loki hesitated for a second when he saw Thor standing at the entrance of the living room with his girlfriend.
"What is Steve doing here?" Thor asked, nodding to the other blond.
"Comforting your brother obviously," Steve responded for Loki.
Loki's eyes shot to the ground. The tension in the air began to get heavy. The smaller teen shifted a bit in the seat. He quietly excused himself and headed up to his room.
"You two fix whatever has gotten into you. It's hurting Loki," Jane said as she followed Loki up to his room.
She wrapped her knuckles on the door. The brunette crossed her arms over her chest. She found emerald eyes looking at her through a crack in the door.
"What do you want?" Loki asked her in a quiet tone.
"I just want to talk Loki," Jane said, smiling at him a bit.
Loki rolled his eyes but opening the door for her. Jane walked past him. The teenage boy closed the door behind her. Thor's girlfriend sat at Loki's desk, looking at him.
"Something's on your mind," Jane noted as Loki sat on the edge of his bed.
"Something's always on my mind," Loki said.
"Tell me then," she said. "Or I'll call Darcy."
as she dug around in her purse to find her phone, Loki shot her a rather nasty look. He didn't appreciate the fact that Darcy would be invading his parent's house. The one woman he would prefer not to see.
"It's about Fandral. I'm still having nightmares about it," he said, looking at the ground again.
Jane looked at him before saying, "He's where he needs to be. You have to know that he's not going to hurt-"
"I know this," Loki yelled at her.
His hands began to visibly shake with anger. Jane's eyes blinked as she looked at him. She studied him quietly. A sigh escaped her mouth. With that she stood up.
"I'll go check on our boyfriends. I haven't heard a word from them," Jane said before leaving the room.
Loki buried his face in his hands. He tried to call himself before he got up to follow Jane. He hesitated a bit when he reached the stairs to go downstairs.
