ONE SHOT

I walked in the diner full of people. I don't know what I was thinking. I had to know for long I could control my temptation of human blood but what if I attacked someone in his diner. I would reveal myself—my true nature. I was about to leave when someone caught my sight in particular. She was a short girl with black pixie hair almost as pale as me sitting on a stool playing with her bracelet that she had worn in her right hand. She had placed her right elbow on the table and sat so delicately on the stool that I thought with a mere touch she could be shattered into pieces. She looked so delicate and fragile an epitome of perfection. Her right leg was placed under the table while her left leg rested upon her toe behind her right leg. It looked like she was waiting for someone; I looked away when she started to get up.

I looked around to see if any table was empty. Up until now I hadn't notice that with a mere distraction of that girl I was able to keep my thoughts away from my blood lust. I looked at her again and she was looking at me. I couldn't help but smile at her beautiful face, She was so short just like a porcelain doll just about 4'10'' her black pixie hair and large long golden eyes and delicate eyebrows complimented her small features She danced around the diner towards me with a grace that was much, much more graceful than any ballerina. I couldn't help but notice that she was thin in the extremes; I wonder what made her so thin?

"Jasper Whitlock" she said with a smile that would make any guy's heart flutter, I was at loss of words in front of this angel so I smiled and gave a single nod. "You kept me waiting long enough" she said with a grin, I could sense her happiness, something that I had sense over a very long time I couldn't help but bow my head in front of her and answer, "my apologizes, ma'am." She grinned at me brightly again.

We stood there and she talked, I was contended with watching her and just listened, when she told me her name was "Alice" I couldn't help but smile but sometimes I couldn't help but taken aback by how much she knew about me and sometimes I would answer in a mystified and wary way out of old habits. The most important thing that she told me was "You can live off animal blood like I have been doing since past 30 years, although I haven't got much success but we can do it together" I bet I looked bewildered because I have never heard of it before. She somehow managed to calm me and keep me away from the bloodlust.

She offered me her hand as if silently requesting me to leave the diner with her, as if she had planned something for us both, something happy – our future together. I took her hand because her joyful nature had impacted me greatly, I wondered if she had this effect on me with just a five minute conversation how beautiful could she make my future, for the first time in a century, I felt hope.
