~ Butch's POV ~
I waited at the door of the employees room searching for a sign of our small gang. It was already 7:30pm and neither one of the Puffs or Ruffs were here. Kaoru was in the back still getting changed, which I just presume is a lie considering she seemed very unwilling with wearing costumes after seeing Jilly.
"Kaoru, you finished changing yet?" I asked while pounding a bit on the door. "Yeah.." She said but didn't come out. Of course, she didn't want me to see her, I bet.
A smirk grew as I tried for the knob. It was unlocked. I checked the time, 7:47. I should change anyway. "I'm getting changed now, Kaoru~" I sang and opened the door.
I looked around the room noticing nothing. Where is she? I shrugged and went nearer to the back to find my name tag among the other costumes that were hung about. I heard the door click shut as I found my costume. Kaoru. Sneaky girl..
I sighed and started changing.
I threw on a fabric of green and red to which the red went down my front. The fabric was short sleeved so we wouldn't have trouble with waiting on the customers. Two soft yet wide green fabric was placed around my wrists, three fake leaves sticking out on each wrist. I wrapped another piece of green fabric around my waist which held two long fake leaves trailing behind me like a tail. I put on the foot pieces around my shoes which just looked like two long green talons and placed on a green visor-type hat with yet another leaf which ended just above the ground behind me.
I looked inside the mirror and gave a satisfying smirk. I was the Pokemon Grovyle, the evolution of Treeko and the before evolute of Sceptile.
I heard Kaoru's voice outside of the door. The gang was finally here. I walked out of the back room and seen Kaoru with a slight blush with her hands inside of the apron. I tied mine around my waist careful not to undo the tail piece.
I looked to Kaoru's costume and smirked.
On her head was a yellow headband which two antenna bobbed to-and-fro. She wore a tight fitting belly shirt which was a light green. On her feet were knee-high green boots, at the end were small white claws. Around her neck was a pink choker flower. Her skirt was as the same flower design and color, a small green tail poking out from underneath.
I recognized her costume as Meganium which is the last Pokemon in its evolution which consists of Chikorita and Bayleef.
I focused my gaze off of her and looked towards the table in the corner. Miyako and Momoko were sitting side-by-side on the booth part. Boomer sat on the other side of Miyako on the booth while Brick sat next to Momoko in a chair. Kiyari and Keiji were both on chairs facing the two girls.
I pushed Kaoru a bit to get her moving. She slowly walked to the table as I made my way to another. I heard a few squeals from Miyako and Momoko and winced. They sure were loud. I got my tables' drinks and hurried back with them.
"Are you ready to order?" I asked and they nodded. They were seated in a booth. A boy and girl holding hands and on the other side was just a girl. The lonely girl winked at me as I left with their orders. I rolled my eyes smiling. I didn't need that girl, I had my own.
After a few minutes, Kaoru met up with me as we waited for the food to be ready. "The group okay?" I asked and she nodded. "I'm surprised your brothers didn't order as much as you usually do." She said and I scoffed. "Them? They can't even make 5th place in an ice cream eating contest." I said and she rolled her eyes. "Sure."
She grabbed her food as it finished and began walking away. I grabbed her by the shoulder and quickly said, "We'll switch for deserts, alright?" I asked and she nodded. I gathered up the ready food for my table.
While setting the food down I noticed that girl quickly placed something inside my apron. I walked away without another glance to go and order on another table.
I looked to Kaoru and she nodded so I headed towards our group. "Desserts anyone?" I asked and Miyako squealed as Momoko nodded fiercly. "Butch! Your costume is so cool looking! Oh! isn't Kaoru's costume just so adorable!" She squealed and I smirked. "Very adorable indeed."
Her face went red and she pouted. "Butch! Stop being so pervy!"
I laughed and began taking their orders for desserts. When I got to Momoko my fingers began to ache. "-Oooh! I'd also like the strawberry banana sundae! Maybe the chocolate fountain cake!-"
I groaned and walked away from the table, Momoko still continuing on with her dessert list.
I met up with Kaoru near the dessert fridge. She gave me a glare and I furrowed a brow. "Something wrong?" I asked as I began gathering the desserts. "Why don't you ask that girl at your table. She was asking for you." She said simply and left.
I looked inside the apron and found a piece of paper. Her name was Alice and she had written down her cell number. I growled and thought of a plan.
I smirked and quickly dropped off the desserts. "HEY! You didn't get all my desserts!" Momoko complained and I chuckled along with the others.
I made my way to where Kaoru finished handing out her desserts. "Kaoru-chan!" I yelled and she stopped. She was standing right in front of the girl and I noticed her giving me another flirtacious look. I'll admit, she was pretty cute, but like I said before, I have my Kaoru.
I smiled at her grabbing her lightly by the shoulders. I leant in and placed a kiss tenderly on her lips. I heard the girl gasp as I pulled away, Kaoru's face a bright red.
I turned towards the girl and stared at her. "I think you forgot something." I told her and handed her the piece of paper with her number on it, the writing 'No Thanks' was scribbled on the back and she growled crushing the paper up as I smirked.
I grabbed Kaoru's hand as we made our way to get more desserts for the other tables.
Kaoru bit her lip lightly and looked up at me. "You didn't have to do that, y'know." She said and I elbowed her in the arm. "Really now? Even if that girls' face was priceless from rejection?" I said and kissed her lightly on her nose. "I wanted to do that anyways. It's not all the time I get to kiss you without you killing me in the process." I said and she growled.
I laughed some more and gave out the rest of the desserts.
After a few hours, the clock went to 9:45 and I proclaimed our shift over. There were only two groups inside the restaurant and one just got up to leave. The last employee went in the back to change out of the outfit and came back out leaving.
The last group was of course our small gang. They all got up and Kiyari made her way over on her crutches. "Kaoru's already in the back getting redressed. We'll be waiting out front!" She said and exited the restaurant with the rest.
I walked into the back room to find Kaoru completely redressed. I clumsily took the costume up and threw it in a pile near the others that were hanging up.
"Seriously? You applied us for this, the least you could do is hang the costume back up appropriately." Kaoru said and bent down to retrieve the outfit. She hung it up with the rest of the costumes and we exited the restaurant, the manager waving us a goodbye as we left.
Walking home, Kiyari was teasing Kaoru.
"You were jelly!"
"Was not!"
"You totally were! You should've seen your own face when that girl asked for Butch!"
"I was not 'jelly'! And I never will be!"
Kiyari wiggled her eyebrows at Kaoru who just huffed in response and crossed her arms. The gang all laughed except for Kaoru.
I leant down to Kaoru's height and smirked. "I believe you." I whispered and she shot up, her grumpy attitude disappearing instantly. "See! Even Butch- ..Butch?" Kaoru turned to look at me as I tried to calm down my laughs.
"What the hell! I thought you said you believed me!" She yelled punching me and I smirked. "I do believe you. You weren't 'jelly' one bit...you were jealous~" I said and the whole gang began laughing once more as Kaoru glared at all of us.
"I hate you all..."
