Title: Impossible Love Story

Summary: Six months has passed since the second magical war in Britain. Slowly but surely magical Britain has begun to restore itself from the havoc Voldemort and his followers had caused. The marked difference is that the Malfoy named has been publicly tarnished and they Malfoy line has labeled as blood traitors with a price for their heads placed by still free Death Eaters that are hunting them. Even with all the problems facing them the Malfoy Patriarch is stricken with sorrow and is slowly dying from heartbreak that can only be cured by a dead man.

Pairings: Lucius/Severus, others pairings, if any, will be revealed as the story progresses.

Warnings: Slash, Death, and Violence. Mpreg! Which in this plot, a man becoming pregnant, is as common as getting the common cold or flu.

Disclaimer: Nothing that bears a Harry Potter trademarked trait belongs to me. It all belongs to J.K. Rowling and others. The only things that belong to me is the plot, possible outside characters, and the laptop I am using to write this fanfic.

Author's Note: Please review! Also as I have not planned any other pairings but the ones already mentioned (Narcissa/Rabastan, Hermione/Ron) if any of you want a particular pairing in this fic leave the name of the pairing in a review and I will do my best to implement the pairing into the fic if it does not affect the plot.

Chapter 2: The Return of The Raven

Severus Snape heard the sound of feet rushing after him as he carried Lucius through the halls of the grand manor but he had not been a double agent for almost twenty years without being resourceful. By the time the rest of those at Malfoy Manor reached his bedroom, he already had the door locked and the bedroom completely warded against everything and everyone but his personal house elf. He smirked as he heard the muffled cursing and yelling through the wards. Malfoys could be really funny and creative when given the correct incentive.

He shut off his own hearing to the muffled noises and turned around to the man he had lain on the bed in the bedroom. As he took in the sight of the man he could see what his little Dragon and Narcissa were speaking about. His Lucius was not well at all, he was very sick, he appeared to be weeks from the veil, and yet all he could see was a beautiful man asleep. The strength in his body was there but he knew that when those eyes opened next, he'll see the the hell his little light had been living, and he was going to fix his light. Nothing will stand in the way of his happiness. His happiness that just happened to be named Lucius Malfoy.

Turning towards the fireplace he lit it quickly to a blaze that had warmth spreading through the large room quickly. He then took of his robes and jacket and threw both without care on the nearest chair to him as he walked towards the closet in the bedroom. He rummaged through out the closet until he found the pure cotton and silk blend pajamas, a pair of cotton slippers, and equally soft underwear. He then found the magic infused Moon flower and Morning Glory blend of shampoo, conditioner, bath and body gel, and body cream that he kept hidden and headed to the bathroom to lay it all out. He filled the bath tub with warm water and pour in some of the bath gel. As the bath tub began to fill with bubbles he found a largest cotton towel which he put withing hands reach of the bath tub.

The raven haired men than put a stasis charm on bath that was ready to be enjoyed and walked back to his sleeping light. When he reached the bed he pause as to how to proceed to wake Lucius up. While Lucius was older and more apt at playing the political and bloody money war games of the magical world and be the center of attention. He had chosen to stay in the shadows and be ignored. It was the only way that he had known that would help him survive. What better way to learn a persons' secrets if everyone forgot that you existed? He had only made himself known when his family was in danger. More than once he had almost died for protecting Lucius. He had kept Narcissa, the woman he considered his sister, safe and what could he say of Draco. Draco was his son. It was that simple. He had been expelled from his mothers' womb onto his hands, he had cleared his airways as he had taken in his first breath of air, he help his little light cut the umbilical cord off, and then cleanse him. He had been there for his first smile, words, steps, his first act of uncontrollable magic, the first time he rode a broom and more. He would die for his little Dragon if necessary. That fact that the boys' father was the love of his life made the little boy his as much as the woman who brought him into the world.

No one could dispute it and if they did most often than not they had been cursed by Lucius until their insides curled. What has Lucius not done for him. He in return would do anything and everything if it made the blond smile. He was Lucius protector as much as Lucius was his light in this world. They had saved each other in so many ways that he had lost count. Next time he had a real conversation with Lucius he would concede their over two decade old bet. Now he would have to wait for the punishment and knowing his ice prince he'd probably end up with a bloody brand tattoo somewhere in his body.

He knelt by the bed and pushed back the dirty white blond hair from the face he had missed seeing so much over the past half year. Severus Snape was a lot of things but very little made him afraid and nothing had terrified him more than the idea of never seeing his Lu again. Nothing had driving that fever home more, than when he had lain on the cold floor of that damn boat house bleeding to death, feeling the snake venom running through his body leaving a trail of tormenting pain in its wake. As he was dying all he could think of was the fact that he'd never see his little Lucius again. The ice prince with the little aristocratic nose, stucked up in the air. Nothing had saddened him more than when he realized that there would never be anything behind of him and Lucius left in the world. At that moment he had regretted never giving Lucius the child he had always wanted from him. He knew he had broken Lucius heart every time he had denied the blond his want to be pregnant. To bear their child.

They had done so much wrong, no, he had done so much wrong. So, many people were fast to belief that Lucius Malfoy had been one of the pillars of the Dark Lords' second reign. But they were all wrong. Lucius was a victim. A victim of his idiocy because had he -Severus Snape- never become a Death Eater his little light would never had become one. He only became one because he had followed him, contrary to popular belief Lucius had not taken Abraxas Malfoy position amongst the ranks of Voldemort he had. All his timid blonde had ever wanted was to move to the Malfoy French Riviera cottage to make a home for the two of them and any children they might had have. Voldemort, however, had found Lucius to be too gentle for his liking and that had been the first day he thanked Morgana and Merlin that the Malfoys were so rich. Since it had been their riches that Voldemort had wanted and needed to fund his cause. A fortune that had Lucius died no one would have been able to touch but the true spouse of the rightful Malfoy heir. Nothing would have compromised his position as a double agent then if he had had to explain to Voldemort why he was the only one who could access the Malfoy funds. No, now he had a second chance to make it right. Not just for him but for his Lu too. He'd make it right for the two of them. He shook his head clear of thoughts and instead of waking Lucius up the muggle way. He went with the magical approach.

"Rennervate."

As Lucius began to steer awake he straightened himself on the chair he sat on which he had transfigured. Oh, how he had waited to see those grey-blue eyes again.

As Lucius woke he felt disoriented. He felt like the time James Potter had 'accidentally' knocked him from the stands at the Gryffindor v Slytherin Quidditch game. He felt as if he had fallen 50 feet from the air and then met nothing but the ground. Now he recognized that feeling for what it was, he had passed out. He shifted on the bed as he tried to remember what cause the fainting spell. His thoughts were so garbled however that all he felt was an increase in the headache. Black hair and black eyes were the only things that came to mind. Now, he remembered. Lucius snapped his eyes opened as he felt the familiar presence. His raven was alive!

He shifted his body towards the right, legs following, until he was sitting in an upright position. He could not believe what he was seeing. There was no way that the man sitting in front of him was his man. He was dead he had seen the ginger's memory of Nagini's attack. There was no way Sev could have survived the attack or that anyone could have saved him. He had resigned himself to Severus's demise and he just wanted to follow the man he has loved for over twenty years into the veil. Why? Why now that he had been so close did this had to happen? Where was Potter or his little Dragon to arrest the impostor?

"It really is me Lu." The mirage said to him. But that could not be right. It would not have been the first time his mind tried to play dirty tricks on him. Making him think that Severus was alive and for him to then run his finger through a cloud of smoke his magic had conjured up.

"Lucius, what would it take to prove to you that it really is me?" The doppelganger asked. The blond man thought over the question until the obvious answer came to him.

"Which flower did you give me on my 22nd birthday that I absolutely fell in love with?" Lucius smirked since the real Severus had given him two different sets. The standard bouquet of flowers that he had given him which he had kept on his desk and the vase of hybrid Moon flowers which Severus had given him in private.

"I gave you two sets. But you fell in love with the Moon flowers I gave you. Your reason had been and I quote 'I can take the seeds from the Four O'clock's and poison Bellatrix if she continues to annoy me."

"Sev?" Lucius asked this time in a hopeful tone. "Is it really you? You are truly alive?"

"Yes, luv," The raven haired men said, "It is me. Why are you still sitting on the bed?"

That was all it took for Lucius to haul himself from the bed and onto the raven haired man sitting across from him. He felt strongly muscled arms wrap around him and pull him tight onto the warmth body underneath. Lucius pressed himself as closed to body as he could and buried his face between the crook of the neck and shoulder of Severus. Inhaling the moon flower and morning glory scent he loved and missed so much. He hugged the man tighter until fingers cramped and his arms hurted from the pressure. He then exposed his face and kissed the man he had missed for six months so much that he had wanted to die to follow him in the afterlife.

"I missed you Sev," Lucius cried out in heartfelt pain, "I missed you so much and I never even got to say goodbye! Your body had not been found except for the blood that cover the floor of the boat house. I had never felt so much pain before Raven. I felt as if my heart had been ripped out from my living body. It had been more painful than one of Voldemort's crucios.''

"It will all be fine now, Lu." Severus said in a soft voice filled with understanding and love. It had been hard for him as well to have been separated from his lover for six months. It must have been a hundred times worse for his ice prince, he was going to make it right.

Lucius let out a startled yelp when he felt Severus stand up. He tightened his arms around his shoulders as he saw Sev walk towards the bathroom. He trembled as they entered the bathroom and the scent of Severus favorite bath gel hit his nose. He was terrified of stripping to his skin in front of Sev. He had never minded being naked with his lover, that had been one of his favorite past times. But that had been when he looked beautiful, now all he was, was a walking skeleton. The pain of losing Sev had been too much for him to handle. He'd taken minimal care of himself.

As he was set on his feet, he was horrified at seeing the state of himself and ashamed that he had not been stronger. He walked towards the body length mirror and looked at himself. His skin was sallow and pale, he was disgustingly skinny, his nails were too long, his hair was a waist length blond mass of grease and knots, but his eyes were what blew his mind. They were filled with pain, a pain that even as he saw reflected back to him, he could not understand. He sighed and closed his eyes. He just could not deal with emotional turmoil. It was too much to handle all at once. His musings were cut short when he once again felt strong arms wrap around him. This time the arms hugged him around his waist. How could Sev stand to be near him in the state he was in?

"I love you." The tall raven haired man said.

"What?"

"It doesn't matter what you look, if you're rich or poor, healthy or sick," Severus said his silken voice causing small shivers to run through the blond man, "I will always love you. I have been devoted to you for near to twenty years and nothing nor no one will change that. You're state speaks of pain. Pain caused because you thought I was dead. Pain that I understand I just thank Magic that you did not choose a more drastic way to deal with the pain."

"I love you too much to kill myself Raven." Lucius states in a quiet tone, "I knew I could not live without you. I'd rather die from a broken heart."

"You nearly succeeded," Severus answered with pain in his voice, "But I swear I am going to change it all. I am going to give you the life you deserve, the life you had wanted from the beginning. From now on all, I am going to be devoted to just you, our relationship, and family. Now come on, lets give you a bath and begin to put you to rights."

"Could you at least stop making sound like am a stray animal you're trying to fix?" Lucius asked annoyed.

"Sure, Luv," The other man answered than grinned,"Would you rather I'd make it sound as if you were the rat?"

"You! How dare you?" Lucius near screamed before he hit Severus hard enough to move the man from the spot he was standing on, before moving to strip and then sink into the warm water in the tub, which Severus, wandlessly, removed the stasis charm.

"What are we going to do?" Lucius asked Severus.

"First we are going to get you cleaned and groomed the way you like it," Severus said as he took in the sight of the blond in the bathing in the water, "Then we'll get some food in you, after which am going to give you a full health scan, you are going to interact with the family, and while you do that I'll be in my potions lab to make the potions you'll need to restore your health."

"Do you think it'll take long?"

"It all depends on how far your health plummeted," Severus said as he leaned down and cupped the face of the blond man and kissed him deeply, "You'll be back yourself before you know it."

"I know I will, with you by my side everything will be fine. How?"

"What do you mean?"

"How are you here? Alive?" Lucius asked in a lightly panic voice, "I went to the boat house Sev! There was so much blood. Too much blood for you to be standing in front of me."

"I'll explain as soon as you're done with your bath."

Severus watched as Lucius gave himself a manicure, leaving his hands looking worthy of a prince. Then he watched as the now lithe blond pulled clothes out of the closet, until all that laid on the bed was black muggle trousers, a plum purple cashmere sweater, and a pair of cotton socks. Severus smirked as he watched the blond curse the designer label clothing for needing to be transfigured into smaller sizes. After the blond man finally finished dressing and then put on the sock and dragon hide boots lined with layers of cushioning charms. Lucius then summoned Dolien and asked the house elf to style his hair. After 15 minutes of trying to calm down the house elf, who had gone into hysterics at the idea of cutting the hair length to what it had been, the blond settled on just trimming the ends and keeping the waist length hair.

Then the air in the room became tense. He had to explain to Lu how he was alive. Frankly, his answer as he explained it to his ice prince was not completely coherent even after the know-it-all explained to him what she did to keep him alive. Little Ms. Granger proved herself to him, never again was he going to take shoots at her. Specially not after they have had their sit downs and talked about everything and anything. In many way miss Hermione Granger did not just save his life she had also saved his soul. For that alone she had become family to him, for now though he had to settle for terrorizing Ron Weasley. As he finished his explanation relief run across the blond man's face. Knowing Lucius he was probably thankful that dark magic had not been performed to keep him alive.

After more talking and cuddling and making Lucius eat a small bowl of oatmeal and fruits with a cup of milk. He then gave Lucius a full body scan. He thank everything in existence that Lucius bone density, muscles, and organs had not been damaged. Lucius how ever was severely mal nourished and underweight, he had two ribs healed wrong, a pulled muscle in his abdomen, and his reproductive cycle was also late bye three months due to mal nourishment. For all he would have to make batched of potions for a months before Lucius could be considered healthy. The two finally made their way towards the family room. As Severus looked outside the window he realized that nowhere near morning as he thought it was afternoon hours. As Severus began to lead Lucius to the nearest chair he was intercepted by the terror that was his son as he attempted to squeezed his father to death.

"Draco let him go," he heard Potter tell his son, thank Circe for the annoying brat, "Do you not see he is in no condition to be squeezed into a paste!"

Severus smirked at his boy, as he rapidly let go of his father and stepped back. Then gave his father an apologetic look that Lucius waved off as he was soaking in the love and attention. Faster than he thought it was possible, he saw as Draco lifted his wand hand towards Harry and sent a sting hex towards the raven haired aurors' leg. Which left Harry to crumple onto the floor. Did he mentioned how much he loved the little blond terror? Severus then watched with affection as Lucius sat down on the love seat nearest to him and pulled Draco to sit next to him. The boy was for all intent and purposes sitting on his fathers' lap. Lucius began murmuring things into his sons' ear as he caressed the boys' blond tresses. He watched as he saw Draco shed tears onto the mans' shoulder and his heart squeezed tight at the idea of how much his son must have suffered as well. As he watched, Narcissa sat on the other side of Lucius and Granger and Potter pulled chairs closed enough to the Malfoy patriarch to almost be touching knees with him. Severus' chest squeezed tight, this is what his little Lu needed, to be surrounded by family. So, he signaled Lucius that he was going to his potions lab in the manor and only left after Lucius gave him his nod of understanding.

He was going to make it all better for love.
