Title: Impossible Love Story

Summary: Six months has passed since the second magical war in Britain. Slowly but surely magical Britain has begun to restore itself from the havoc Voldemort and his followers had caused. The marked difference is that the Malfoy named has been publicly tarnished and they Malfoy line has labeled as blood traitors, all with a price on their heads placed by still free Death Eaters that are hunting them. Even with all the problems facing them, the Malfoy Patriarch is stricken with sorrow and is slowly dying from heartbreak that can only be cured by a dead man.

Pairings: Lucius/Severus, others pairings, if any, will be revealed as the story progresses.

Warnings: Slash, Death, and Violence. Mpreg! Which in this plot, a man becoming pregnant, is as common as getting the common cold or flu.

Disclaimer: Nothing that bears a Harry Potter trademarked trait belongs to me. It all belongs to J.K. Rowling and others. The only things that belong to me is the plot, possible outside characters, and the laptop I am using to write this fanfic.

Author's Note: As I have not planned any other pairings but the ones already mentioned (Lucius/Severus and Narcissa/Rabastan) if any of you want a particular pairing in this fic leave the name of the pairing in a review and I will do my best to implement the pairing into the fic if it does not affect the plot.

There will be a small time skip in this chapter that does not affect the plot. The time skip will skip to the part where Lucius is healthy. All you need to know is that for six months Lucius was coddled and loved while his health was restored. Now Lucius and Severus are dealing with facing the world. Also, this chapter sets up some of the inner conflict in the characters.

Enjoy and REVIEW! *Wink Wink* *Nudge Nudge*

Chapter 3: A Whole New World

Narcissa Harperia Malfoy had sacrificed a lot in her lifetime. Her sacrifices began before she even graduated from Hogwarts. She had been dictated by her father, which was why at thirteen she had been promised for marriage straight out of school. All her dreams of a career thrown away before she could draw her next breath. She however sucked all up when Lord Malfoy had called upon her and explained why he had asked her father for her hand in marriage to her son. Narcissa understood and buried everything she wanted to do and be to the side and chose to not be selfish. Lucius and her had been raised together since they had been borned months apart, she had considered the man her brother. Which was something that forty odd years later had not changed. If anything she gained another brother in Severus all thanks to the blonde man.

She had been lucky. Many of the girls that had been in the same position as her at the time, girls she had gone to school with, girls she had been raised with, were visited by her again at their funerals. Having sucumbed to the physical abuse and toture of their husbands and Death Eaters at parties they had hosted. At the end Abraxas Malfoy had been a blessing to her, she got a husband who respected her and protected her above everything. She got Draco, her greatest gift, she'd done everything in her power to keep her baby happy and safe. Something that had been possible most of the time and when it had not been possible she did everything on her power to keep him alive. Now she was waiting for the moment her baby fell in love and then gave her grandbabies.

The tragic tale of her life was her love life. It was worthy of being penned by Shakespeare. The love of her life and her had to separate to keep appearances. Yet, nothing had broken her heart more than when Rabastan had told her that he had been exiled from England by his father because he had refused to join Voldemort's ranks. There was a reason he had been the only Lestrange in the history of the family to be sorted into Ravenclaw. That reason was because he was intelligent. Oh, he was as cunning and ambitious as any Slytherin, but he had been a prodigy in elemental magic, and that had been the reason he had been seeked by Voldemort since he had turned 13. Then he was exiled and sent to the states to live with his Godmother who raised him. She only saw Rabastan once a year since, an annual date that held true more than twenty years later. She was in love with a man she only saw once a year. A man whom she did not know but as the child she had known. It did not matter that once a year their bodies united and that they pledged their hearts and souls to each other. Realistically, Stan could have lied each time they met and have a family of his own in the states but in her heart she knew that that he had stayed faithful to her as she had to him. There were things that neither time nor distance could break.

"I would hope that if you're thinking this deeply, that I occupy some of your thoughts." Narcissa turned around grinning as she saw the love of her life appear in the middle of the room she was in. She had never been happier that Rabastan could manipulate the elements.

"Of course you were in my thoughts. You always are in one form or another." The blonde replied as she stood on the tip of her toes and reached up to kiss the man standing in front of her.

"How have you been beautiful?"

"Better now that the Malfoy name has been completely cleared. We now can walk amidst the common folk and not get harassed for our part in the war."

"Potter and Granger did wonders in the courtroom then," Rabastan said as he sat down on the sofa in the room and pulled his woman onto his lap, "Do you think they could do the same for me?"

"Whatever do you mean?"

"I think it would be nice to spend the rest of my life by the side of the woman I love," Rabastan said as he caressed her cheek, "I no longer want to be in the states. I have nothing left for me there, my Godmother died and I can do my job from anywhere in the world, Narcissa. I want to marry you and make a family with you. Is that too much to ask?"

"It isn't. I just wish it could be that easy. We would have to go through legal hoops that might never end. You could end up in Azkaban for the rest of your life when you're innocent. Draco, Harry, and Hermione are amazing in the courtroom, but I don't think they could work something this big. While your innocence is cleared you could be killed, Stan."

"Isa nothing could happen to me. Before we do anything, I would like to speak with them three to see if my name could be cleared. I wouldn't dare risk what little we have for something that might prove a failure."

"I understand, but it just breaks my heart that you were taken from everything you knew." Narcissa said as she stared into the olive green eyes she loved so much.

"The very least we could do is talk to the three of them," Rabastan said as he pulled her body closer to his, "I also have another suggestion."

"And that is?"

"While all we attempt to clear my name, you could move with me to the states. We have the means to live in the states. You'd live in the same luxury you do here as a Malfoy. You could divorce and we could marry and have kids. We could do that, while Draco, Potter, and Granger work their magic. If they fail we'll still have each other."

"I love to but there are Death Eaters still after us. I couldn't risk you or leave Draco alone."

"Isa," Rabastan said understanding Narcissa's fears, " Draco wouldn't be alone. He has Potter and Granger. As well as his fathers. Don't you think it's about time you got yourself a little bit of happiness. You've paid your dues. You've paid them for twenty years."

"You're right," Narcissa said smiling at him as she caressed her his long dark hair, "Let's talk with the others and start everything."

"I am so happy that you have accepted to move with me," Rabastan said smiling widely, "But before we talk with the others. We first have a year of lost time to make up for."

"Oh, that we do." Narcissa said seductively as she joined Rabastan in bed.

Hermione Granger, Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter, and Ronald Weasley were all sitting in different places in the private office of the head of the Auror department. While they all worked in different fields they all had one thing in common, Death Eaters. Ron took vacation time from the Chudley Cannons to help his best friends. Draco and Harry both worked in the Auror department. Harry was the head of the department, while Draco was second-in-command. Hermione was the head of the Unspeakables, the only three people who knew what she did for a living were in the same room as her. However, when the Auror's latest report came in and she was told, Hermione turned from the work she was doing in the City of Atlantis and returned to England. It wasn't everyday that you were told that a Death Eater revival was on the horizon.

"What are we going to do?" Ron asked as he moved his towering frame against the door he was leaning on.

"We start with regrouping, organizing, and then dispatching our intel," Hermione stated as she shifted in her seat, "If a Death Eater revival is in the works, it's too late for us to attempt a termination at this point. We could risk the lives of those undercover. Instead we should pull them out while there's a chance, gather all pertinent information, prepare the undercovers for the possible years of working under, and then send them back."

"That covers the first stage," Draco said, "The second stage would be protecting Azkaban and the Ministry from a possible break out and/or takeover. Harry, here in the Ministry we should have the identity alarm spell installed in all floo systems, apparition points, flying dispatches, and muggle entrances. It's the only way to be sure that no Death Eater under polyjuice is in the Ministry at any given time. As for Azkaban, I think is about time we call in that favor the Vampire King owes us."

"That's brilliant Draco," Harry said as his green eyes glittered in the sunlit room, "with us having the Vampires alliance and their being impervious to magic they'll be the perfect guards for Azkaban."

"You should also move all the incarcerated Death Eaters," Ron stated as he moved from leaning against the door to sit on Harry's desk chair, "We should anticipate their every move before they even begin to organize. We all know that as soon as they make their revival is official, their next move will be the breakout of the Death Eaters in Azkaban. I think it's time to open the prison under the Ministry. No one but us four and Kingsley knows of its existence. It's the ideal place to imprison them."

"You're brilliant Ron." Harry said smiling as he began gathering permits to set the opening of the Ministry prison in motion.

"I have my moments." Ron said smirking at the three people in the room.

"It'll be nice if those moments occurred more often." The blond snarked at Ron.

"Don't you two start with all that squabbling," Hermione said to Ron and Draco and then she turned towards Harry, "Harry, we should also put a hold on their Gringotts accounts. If any Death Eaters that escaped overseas make their way back to England. Their first place to visit will be the Gringotts. If we freeze their accounts and set an automatic alarm directly to the Aurors, we'll know who will be part of the revival."

"We'll have to do all of that to be ready for them," Harry said as he turned from the file organizer to his three confidants, " We will also have to move up the graduation ceremony of the Auror Academy. We're going to need more women and men at hand. Between Draco and I, they'll be broken in, in less than a month. We will also have to set a security perimeter for your parents Draco."

"Don't worry about that Harry," Draco said, "My parents are safe within Malfoy Manor. After the war, I reseted the wards and added new ones, along with the wards that Severus added a few months ago. There is also the Fidelius Charm and the Unplottable Charm that are ready to be activated. Those are set for when the revival is official. None of my parents knows of the possible return of the Death Eaters. Severus only has a minor idea because he has been hearing whispers in Knockturn Alley."

"Are the whispers worth anything?" Ron asked the blond.

"Nothing so far," Draco said as he shifted in his seat and took a sip of his cup of tea, "The most important thing that Severus heard was about the captivity of a newborn Unicorn. For which he almost tore out the man's tongue until the location of the Unicorn was given. Said Unicorn was reunited with its mother thanks to Luna."

"We will need to keep it like that for now," Harry said, "I don't want Severus to be dragged back into the Death Eater life or the spying life. I am also going to withdraw the consulting summons I issued your father. I don't want to risk his safety."

"No, Harry do not withdraw it," Draco said, " My father wants to reintroduce himself into society. This way is the best way. Also, if Father is back to working in the Ministry, he'll be better than any spy we have on the payroll. Father can dig secrets out that no one would say aloud."

"We'll bring your father on board but we'll keep Severus away," Harry said, "I don't want them distracted with each others safety while on the job that could end up hurting them both."

"I agree." Draco said as he began to get to work.

"Let's get to work," Harry said as he joined Ron at his desk and Hermione did the same at Draco's, "We have a long day ahead of us."

Lucius paced the floor of his office while he looked at the summons he held. He stopped in the middle of his stride and began to think of ways to hurt Potter without bringing the wrath of Narcissa and Draco upon himself. How dare the little brat use the ministry to summon him to consult for the Auror department. He knew that Harry did this to give him a way to come into society again. The last time he had been seen was when he and his family defected at the Battle of Hogwarts and that had been a little over a year now. While his name was cleared, he knew that many were after his blood and the blood of his family. For the first time since taking up the Malfoy Lordship, he felt like staying in the manor and hiding.

He just was not up to dealing with everything that his resurfacing would bring on his doorstep. No one would be happy but he would be able to do everything the way he wanted to since he had graduated from Hogwarts over twenty years ago. Go fully into politics, modernize the wizarding world, reach magical creature equality, have a family with Severus, and have babies with him. Some of the things he wanted to do would take some time to achieve. However, the last two were completely possible and with the help of Harry and his son, Draco, they would be possible sooner than he was planning.

Yes, the ministry summons was the way to re-establish himself and the Malfoy name. Draco had done well on his own for a year. The Malfoy name, due to Draco's work as an auror and potions master, had reached it's former glory. However, he knew that the name wasn't entirely respected by others because Lord Malfoy himself wasn't the one showing face. He knew that while his wife and son were accepted back into society with open arms, he was a whole other story. Narcissa had never been marked by Voldemort as such she was innocent. Draco had only been marked because he had been forced to take his place in the inner circle. He, himself, was a different story, a story that many would not believe. He had only joined to follow Severus. His father had made it quite clear that he did not want the Death Eater life for him. Something that he had managed until his father died and then he learned that Severus had joined the ranks, he had no other choice but to join to protect him. It was a choice that he did not regret but that he wished he hadn't had to take. Now everything he did or did not do would be under scrutiny until the public was satisfied that he was not becoming the next Dark Lord Potter would have to take out.

Whether he liked it or not, his best course would be to gain the favor of society by working side-by-side with the hero of the Wizarding world, Hermione whom everyone loved, and Draco who had everyone eating from the palm of his hands. It wasn't like he was using them, the three of them tormented him for a year straight. It was about time they paid back for all the disrespect he had to suffer at the hands of his bratty kids. He would also have to once and for all divorce Narcissa and clear Rabastan from the crimes he's accused of, their is no justice in having a man declared guilty of crimes his twin committed. It was the least he could do for Narcissa. Rabastan had lived for nearly 20 years in the states, he thought it was about time the man came back home.

"What are you thinking about?" A silken voice said behind him.

"Rabastan." Lucius replied.

"Should I be jealous?" Severus replied as he wrapped his arms around the blond man.

"Not at all," The blonde responded, "I was thinking that I should work on bringing Rabastan back home. I know it'll be a long stretch, but maybe with the your memories along with the memories of Narcissa, Draco, and I, we could get Rabastan cleared. Rabastan was never part of either war, he shouldn't still live the life of exile his father imposed on him."

"Lucius, very few are the people that know of the existences of changelings. Even fewer know that they were allied with Voldemort for almost 30 years. I doubt anyone will believe that a changeling was acting as Rabastan for twenty years."

"Not if he was questioned by Potter and Granger while under Veritaserum."

"That may be possible, but what will not stop the mass population from killing Rabastan as he is transported from the states to the ministry. I know that you're not naive enough to believe that a wand friendly auror wouldn't stoop to killing him in a sense of misguided justice."

"You're right."

"At most, we can explain everything to the children and leave the rest in their hands. Potter and Granger are intelligent and they take their jobs seriously. They along with Draco will ensure that Rabastan's name is cleared. They'll know what to do after they've heard our story."

"It's still weird."

"What?"

"That you're calling Potter intelligent-" That was all that Lucius said, right after all that was heard on the east wing of the manor was squeals that Lucius later claimed were manly.

"What are you going to do about the summons the Potter sent you?" Severus asked as they cuddled on the chaise in Lucius office, once the calmed down from their horseplay.

"I am going to answer it," Lucius said sighing in pleasure at the feel of fingers running through his hair, "The brat offered exactly what I needed to re-introduce myself into society. It'll be better, if we were to do it together."

"Is that your Slytherin way of asking me to let you tell the world that we're together?"

"Yes."

"Lucius," The raven haired men said as he gently took hold of the man's face to look up at him, "I've been ready to tell everyone about us for almost twenty years. Don't you ever doubt that."

"Good," Lucius said as he grinned and then kissed Severus, "We'll make a grand entrance at the ministry and leave them all talking for months to come."

"Of course you would. You love to have the the medias attention."

"Am fabulous and so is my man and the whole world should know it."

"You just want to rub it in everyone's face."

"No, my lovely Raven," Lucius said as he sat up and started to discard his clothes, "I just want everyone to know where our faces have been."

"Oh, I just love how you think." Severus murmured as he watched the gorgeous blond strip. He didn't need any further enticement and soon the sounds of lovemaking could be heard in the office.

A/N: Please leave a review! I love the follows and favorites but I love reviews as well. They motivate me to keep writing and inspire me.

Also, expect the next update within two weeks. I am working on a lot of stories at the same time, as well as my college class assignments, so I can't post weekly. My major is law and it's time consuming, so I can't dedicate as much time to my stories as I'd like but I do my best with the time I do have.

Lastly, I want to add a romantic subplot for Draco, Harry, Hermione, and Ron but I am not sure as to whom they should be paired with in this story. So, please pick a pairing for each of them and I will build it into the story. Leave me the pairing of your choice in a review. In two weeks I'll make a count and then write a chapter and post it.

The pairings are: Draco/Hermione, Draco/Harry, Draco/Ginny, Harry/Hermione, Harry/Luna, Harry/Ron, Hermione/Ron, Hermione/Blaise, Hermione/Krum, Hermione/Ginny, Ron/Lavender, or Ron/OC (either a male/female Quidditch Player).

If no pairings are chosen, I will tape each pairing to my dartboard and let my dart decide which pairing will be chosen.

See you kittens in two weeks!
