Disclamer: I Do not own anything from ParaNorman.
Omitted Memories Chapter 9
There was a silence that filled the room as almost everyone stared at the body laying on the floor in shock. Norman began to tremble as he watched the blood travel across the floor in a large puddle.
"What the hell was that for!" Rick shouted staring at Howard who in turn shot him a glance before he but his gun back in his coat and then turned to walk to the young boy on the ground.
"I want you to take what you just saw into account the next time you try and pull and little escape attempt like the one you just did, you wont get off this easily. Do you understand?" Howard said as he looked down at Norman who stood there frozen in shock.
"Lets go." Howard said as turned and looked at the two other people in the room before he made his way to the door opened it and walked out. Rick and Henry stood there in silence as well before they turned and followed Howard out the door. Once the group made their way into the hall Harold turned to his men as he saw Rick stopped in his track.
"What's the matter?" Howard asked as he stared at Rick with a hint of annoyance.
"You just killed that young man for no reason." Rick shouted in confusion.
"Oh I had reasons to kill him."
"What?"
"Well the first reason was to help Norman understand that trying to run away and escape would not be a wise or smart choice for him to make, since fear is as you know a proper motivator for getting people to understand things, The second reason as from you have gathered is that ghosts are people who have unfinished business which is why they can not move on. And I assume some young kid from the street has unfinished business." Howard said as he opened the door in front of him and walked in the room as Rick and Henry followed him inside.
As they both stepped through they saw a large monitor which showed an image of the room they where just in.
"Now we wait." Howard said as he stared intensely at Norman.
Norman stood there backed against the wall frozen as he looked at the blood from the lifeless body had stopped spreading. Taking a deep breath he slowly turns to look away.
"What do I do now?" He thought to himself as he tried to get the image of that man being shot in the head out of his mind.
He stared at the blank wall trying to think of what to do next when a sound of a groan reached his ears.
Norman slowly turned around as he eyes widened as a green figure slowly rose out of the body lying on the floor.
Francis slowly rubbed his head in confusion before looking strait at Norman who was staring at him in shock.
"What are you staring at." The ghost said as he looked at the boy with a rude glare before he slowly became aware of his surroundings looking down and seeing his body lying on the ground.
"What the hell." The said before he slowly raised his hands up to his face taking in his new form for the first time as Norman slowly tried to sink deeper into the wall hoping the newly formed ghost would forget about him. Which despite his wishes was not the case as Francis's ghost suddenly turned and looked at Norman.
"You can see me." He asked as he looked at Norman who slowly nodded his head to say yes. Before Francis slowly looked around and noticed the blood stained floor.
"Those people who where just in the room shot me right?" He asked the memories of before his death slowly came back to him.
"Yes" Norman said as tried to look away from the ghost.
"How can you see me?" The ghost asked as he looked at Norman with a confused look on his face.
Norman stood there in silence for a moment not sure what he should do or say as he was still trying to get the image and fear of seeing Francis getting killed out of his mind as he looked away from the newly existing ghost.
"I asked how can you see me if I am dead." Francis asked once again as he slowly stared to float towards Norman who did his best to avoid the ghosts gaze as he took a deep breath in before opening his mouth.
"I… can see ghosts." Norman responded as he looked down at his shoes in order to keep him from chatting with the newly arisen ghost who just stared at him blackly in return.
"Why are you here?"'
"I don't know, they want me here to try and figure out why I can see ghosts." Norman responded as he tried his best not to make eye contact, hoping to avoid further questions about what was going on and where they both were.
The ghost stared at him as he hovered of the ground clearly not believing what the young boy was telling him about where they were and why the kid was even there in the first place. As he slowly looked down and examined the boy who was standing in front of him more closely and noticed his tired, disheveled, and unclean appetence making it seem like he has been in this place a while.
Norman slowly looked up as his eyes meet the ghost of Francis who was staring right at him.
"How long have you been here?" The ghost asked.
Norman stared at him for a moment trying to contemplate what he should do before he slowly opened his mouth to speak.
"I honestly have no idea. A couple of months I think." Norman said as he slowly backed up against the wall and slid down it to take a seat on the ground. As the ghost of Francis floated in the air as he stared at Norman as if to try and figure the kid out.
Norman stared back at the floating ghost as he tried to think of what he should do or say next.
"Why where you even brought here in the first place?"
"That twat who shot me told you. He told me he had a job for me and was willing to pay at least a hundred pounds maybe even more if I came to meet him in his office in a week. So I did and well you know the rest." The ghost said as he floated above Norman and looked down at him.
Norman looked at the ghost as he stared at him for a moment before he looked back at Francis body on the ground.
"I think you should go and find a way out of where ever this place is and go somewhere else."
Francis stopped and looked at Norman in confusion. "What about you?" he asked.
"Don't worry about me it does not really matter anyway its not I can go anywhere." Norman said as he stared back at Francis as he let out a sigh.
Francis looked at Norman before he slowly turned around and floated towards the wall before he turned to Norman.
"If I think of anyway I can help you down the road I will."
Norman nodded with a small smile as he watched the ghost of Francis slowly phase through the door before he slowly collapsed to the ground and darkness filled his vision.
