Sorry guys, busy busy busy school life. Btw I have no idea where teens in America shop because I'm from NZ, or what food you can buy. I know it's a little more elaborate that the food we have in wee old New Zealand. Anyways, bear with and it'll slowly come together.
"You so are! I knew it!" Alex slapped her hand on the table. "Bet you watch it for Heidi Klum!"
"Hey!" Tony realised something. "How come you know so much about it?"
Alex looked sheepish. "I won't tell if you don't?"
"Deal!"
"So, what shops do you want to go to when we hit the mall?" Abby bounced around in the front seat of Gibbs car that she'd borrowed. Her red hot rod wouldn't fit everyone in it. Max had been dropped off back at Tony's' and they were now on their way to get Alex some clothes.
Alex shuffled in the front seat as she thought. She and Tony had paper scissor rocked for shotgun and she had won.
"Any?" She looked sideways at Abby. Tony had been right when he had said she dressed uniquely. Abby's neck tattoo crinkled as she rolled her neck, working out all the kinks.
"Wrong answer Al! I can call you Al right? Where do you normally go?"
"Yeah, Al's fine. I go Op-shopping to buy stuff but I browse in Hot Topic and America Eagle. I never bought anything. It's too expensive"
"Money's no problem Alex" Tony interjected from the back seat.
"American Eagle it is!"
"I'll pay you back when I get a job" Alex vowed.
"While you're under my roof I make the rules. And rule #5 is that I buy you stuff!" Tony reminded her.
Alex sighed and looked out the window at the traffic rushing past.
"It doesn't feel right. I should pay for my own stuff"
"No, you're not going to because…"
"HEY!" Abby interrupted them as they started to get into it. "This trip is going to be on me. I never have anyone to shop for, and Ziva doesn't like shopping with me. My treat and neither of you…" she looked at both Tony and Alex threateningly "…are going to argue!"
Both Tony and Alex shut their mouths. They knew when it was better not to argue.
The rest of the drive went without a hitch and the trio entered the mall, walking straight into American Eagle.
"This is cute!" Abby held up a khaki coloured jacket with black sleeves. "Tony, make yourself useful and hold out your arm!"
Tony looked befuddled but did so anyway, only to have several items of clothing draped over it.
The two girls raced around the shop picking up various items. Alex picked up practical items while Abby contributed with many more items that were a luxury for Alex. Tony notes that Alex's style was drastically different than what he had suspected.
As Alex examined a patterned tank top Abby sidled over to him. "You make sure she eats well. She's too underweight for a girl her age" she informed him.
Tony snorted. "What'd you think I'm gonna starve her?"
He stopped with a stern look form Abby. "I will Abbs" he promised as Alex moved onto the shoes.
"Where's all the black?" he joked, looking at all the blue and white and denim in his arms.
"You blend into the streets easier in black. People are less likely to harass you" she muttered, trying on a pair of combat boots.
"These are good" she tossed them into the basket that Tony had acquired for the mounting pile of clothing. "That's more than enough"
"Nuh Uh Girl!" Abby dropped a cute pair of denim shorts into the basket. "We still have to get you pyjamas, makeup, a dress, underwear and go to hot topic for me, if not for you"
Alex groaned. How long was this going to take? She was not fond of shopping.
They left the mall three hours later. Armed with a dozen bags each Tony estimated that they had bought more clothes and accessories than he had room in his whole house for. "Got enough yet Alex?" he joked.
She glowered at him. "You roped me into this. You can suffer too"
Abby on the other hand looked absolutely thrilled to have so much fun. "That wee red bra that you got was cute wasn't it?
"Abby!" Alex hissed.
Tony looked uncomfortable and went slightly pink. He'd seen his fair share of women's undergarments but when it came to buying them for a teenage girl he wanted nothing to do with them.
"What?" she looked surprised. "Didn't you like it?"
Alex groaned as she dumped the bags in the boot of the car. "Never mind."
"Can we please just go food shopping?" Tony whined.
"Better get going!" Abby grinned. "Tony can't live without his Captain Crunch"
"What sort of fruit do you want Alex?" Tony asked as he pushed the trolley past the stacked stands. Abby had dropped them off, informing them that she had urgent business to do and that they couldn't go back to Tony's apartment but would have to catch a taxi to Gibbs house after finishing the shopping.
"Oranges?" she asked hopefully. Tony smiled at her longing. "Go grab some then"
She darted over to the stand, filling a bag with a dozen or so.
"Anything you specially want?" Tony asked when she came back.
"Nope. Anything is more than what I had before".
Nodding, Tony chucked a variety of fruit and veges into the trolley and started down the cereal aisle. "Grab whatever" he told Alex. She studied the options before picking a box of peach and raspberry muesli. Tony tossed a box of Captain Crunch into the trolley, causing Alex to grin.
"What?" he asked. "You don't like my choice of sugary cereals?"
"Not really" she wrinkled her nose. "I like muesli better"
The rest of the shop was rather easy with both tossing wanted items into the trolley. In went steak, chicken, crackers, chocolate and some green tea. Thank goodness for Alex, Tony didn't bat an eyelid when she placed a box of tampons and pads into the trolley. She quickly passed over the awkward silence he left by picking out shampoo and conditioner, moisturiser, a razor and deodorant. Remembering that Abby had said while Alex had been picking out clothes Tony snuck in a different assortment of vitamin tablets and protein shakes to help Alex gain some weight.
"You all good?"
Alex nodded. "Yep"
They put their shopping through the checkout and with Alex nibbling on an apple they caught a taxi back to Gibbs house.
