A/N - Alright, here it is, it took me a long time to start this back up because honestly, I didn't know how to continue on after the last chapter - until now, but here is the latest chapter, I hope you enjoy it and the next following chapters as much as I enjoyed writing it.

As Betty ended her phone call with Jean, she sat on her bed and sighed with a deep frown. She knew why she was stalling her wedding with Daniel. While marrying Daniel was something she had wanted since the beginning of their relationship but there were still fears deep inside her that had her wondering how long would their marriage last once they exchanged vows, once Daniel got back into the fashion publication game, once he got back on top again - how would Betty know Daniel wouldn't do her like he did the many women that came before her? How did Betty truly know Daniel really wanted to be with her for the rest of their lives? Betty was unsure and because she wasn't unsure she had to remain undecided on marriage to Daniel. She didn't want to be heartbroken, especially not with someone whom she truly invested her time and her heart into - more than she did with any other man.

It was a cooler than usual Friday night for Daniel as he walked into the home he shared with Betty with a bag full of groceries in his hand. As soon as he reached the kitchen, his cell phone rang. He quickly put the bag on the counter and looked at his phone with a smirk. It was Mark Winfield. Daniel had been waiting all day for Mark's call. Daniel quickly answered his phone.

"Hello?" Daniel said.

"Daniel Meade, it's Mark Winfield." Mark said in a cheery voice.

"Mark, hi, please say I got approved for the magazine." Daniel said with a faint, brief frown and a faint smirk.

"You did," Mark said happily. "All you have to do is come down and sign the forms and I think we have a deal."

Daniel briefly took the phone from his ear and mouthed yes while briefly dancing happily before putting the phone back to his ear.

"Um, sure alright, that's great I can do that, wow thank you SO much Mark." Daniel said with a smile.

"Absolutely," Mark replied. "I'm glad to do this and I think this will be the beginning of a great independent venture for you."

Daniel nodded with a smile.

"I do too, thank you." Daniel replied. "I'll see you tomorrow morning."

"Alright, looking forward to it." Mark replied.

As Daniel ended the phone call, Betty walked in the house and smiled warmly at Daniel as she walked to the kitchen. Daniel quickly walked to her, picked her up, spun her around and kissed her warmly. She laughed and then smiled with a brief, faint frown.

"Wow, you're in a great mood." Betty said with a scoff and a smile.

"I am," Daniel said with a smile. "I just got off the phone with Mark Winfield. I've been approved for the loan to start Meade Magazine! Isn't that great?!"

Daniel laughed and hugged Betty again, Betty hugged him back lightly and frowned slightly with disappointment.

"Oh that's great Daniel," Betty said in a less than enthusiastic voice.

Daniel released her from the hug and looked at her with an eyebrow raised and a faint smirk.

"You don't sound as happy as I am." Daniel said lightly.

Betty sighed and slightly rolled her eyes at him with a faint frown.

"I just - I don't think you should start your magazine - right now, Daniel." Betty replied.

Daniel frowned briefly with confusion.

"Why?" Daniel asked.

"I just - I mean, you starting this magazine, I'd never see you at home anymore." Betty said. "You working on Meade Magazine is going to keep you busy and away and me working is already keeping me busy, Daniel - our relationship will suffer."

Daniel frowned and scoffed with a slight shake of his head.

"What? No it won't," Daniel said almost strongly. "Betty, I love you and nothing is going to compromise that. I - I haven't loved anyone as much as I love you since - well since Molly -"

"Yeah Daniel, you say that but yes it WILL, Daniel." Betty interrupted. "Remember, I know how you were when you worked at Mode, all the beautiful models that were constantly around you, all the work that swamped you in your office for hours after the day was over. That's why your previous relationships never worked out. I just - I think the starting of your own magazine - here in London is going to cause a wedge in our relationship."

Daniel slowly smirked at her, scoffed and shook his head.

"Betty, those relationships I had in the past were different." Daniel said. "Those women weren't you."

Betty scoffed and faintly smirked with a brief glance down.

"I LOVE you," Daniel continued, "and I don't want anything to cause a wedge in our relationship or our marriage, nor will I let anything cause a wedge in it. I don't care how many - models I work around, how much work I have with Meade Magazine, my heart will always be committed to you and I will always honor my duties as your fiance and your soon to be husband."

Daniel smiled and took Betty into his arms and kissed her softly on the lips while she frowned with unsureness.

"I love you Betty," Daniel said with a smile. "I mean that, that's why I'm marrying you."

"Yeah about that - the wedding," Betty said lightly. "I - I um - I don't think we should get married - not right now."

Daniel stared at her with an eyebrow raised.

"What? Why?" Daniel asked.

Betty sighed as she pulled away from Daniel.

"I just think, with you now trying to begin your own magazine and with me busy working as an editor, it's just - we don't have time right now to stop and plan a wedding, Daniel."

Daniel stared at her with a disbelieving frown, silent for a few seconds before responding.

"You don't want to marry me, do you?" Daniel said almost softly.

Betty frowned briefly.

"What? No, Daniel, that's not it -"

"Then what IS it Betty?" Daniel interrupted, his anger starting to fill in his voice. "Every time the subject of marriage comes up, you keep stalling even TALKING about it. I mean, do you WANT this or NOT, Betty?"

Betty stared at Daniel with a frown, she was unsure how to answer, how to tell him what she was actually feeling because she was unsure if she was even sure of how she was feeling, if her feelings were even logical and rational. However, her silence spoke volumes to Daniel. Daniel stared at her with lightly filled teary eyes and nodded.

"Fine, consider the engagement off then." Daniel said in a slightly low, hurt voice before walking away.

"Daniel, wait." Betty said while lightly grabbing his arm, which he angrily yanked away, ignoring her as he walked out of the kitchen.

Betty frowned with teary eyes, this wasn't what she wanted. She wasn't sure what she wanted, because her fears wouldn't allow her to be sure and it was her fears that she couldn't seem to get rid of.
