He cried.

There was no other word for it except crying. He had never done it before. Even back when Fujitaka picked him up as an orphan on the street, he didn't cry for the memories he had lost or those who might've forsaken him. When he found out he couldn't see through his right eye, he didn't think anything of it. No sadness came. There was just the burden and guilt. Nothing had made him so emotionally upset then the three words that she uttered from her mouth.

'Who are you?'

He knew that it was to happen. He could tell by the tone of the Dimension Witch's voice that this price was serious. He didn't want the words to sink in and it seemed that his wish was answered. He had searched endlessly through the Hanshin Republic for the feather she needed, so she wouldn't die. A chill ran through him. If he didn't uphold this obligation, she would die. She, the girl he had come to cherish most… would die. He wouldn't let that happen. Never.

The raindrops continued to fall down onto the ground and he just stood there. The shower was refreshing after the fire. The icy cold precipitation trickled down his back and numbed his senses. Numbed. If only he could numb the feelings he had for her. A small smile graced his lips. Even if he could, he knew he wouldn't. Those memories kept him alive. Those memories were what helped him through this journey, the journey that had just begun.

She would forget him but he would never forget her. They were never meant to be anyway. She was a princess. He was a commoner. But would he stop loving her? Never.

'Sometimes, I think of you and I wonder if you think about me a little.'

Of course he thought about her.

So this is the drabble that started this journey. I wrote it, loved it, and decided to write about Syaoran in the other worlds. Yes Fai/Fye/Fay has angst like whoa but Syaoran has his own bittersweet angst. The country of Koryo is next.
