Addie and Logan were being released that day.
They had been there for a little longer than a week after they woke up and Dr. Monroe decided that they were ready to face the real world. Addie's father had come to pick her up and Logan was heading to the airport right away to continue the tour. He had a long phone call with management where he pleaded for them to let him perform.
They finally agreed and the tour would continue just as it was, with three more months of shows before he was going back to Los Angeles to start filming the Big Time Rush movie. Meaning, this would probably be the last time he saw Addie in a very long time.
They were both sitting on a bench on the corner while they let the others fill out the paperwork. "I'm going to miss you." Logan admitted.
Addie gave him a sad smile. "Me too, the last few days have been amazing." They reached over and pulled each other in a tight embrace. Addie closed her blue eyes and breathed in his strong scent.
They pulled away, Addie blinking back tears and Logan fighting the urge to break both their legs so they could spend a few more days together. This was one of the few times that he really hated his job. Over the last few days, Addie and Logan had grown close. They talked all day, told each other their secrets and exchanged contact information.
"You better text me, dammit." Addie laughed bitterly and Logan chuckled.
"Don't worry, I will." Logan reached into his pocket and pulled out a long necklace. "So I know that you were upset about your necklace..."
Addie's jaw fell open as he handed her the piece of jewellery. It was beautiful. It was a gold chain with a cross on the end. At the center of the cross was a small diamond. "Logan..."
Logan blushed and looked down. "It's something you can remember me by and I knew how special it was to you."
"There's no way I can accept this!" Addie gasped and tried handing it back to him. "It must have cost a small fortune!"
Logan leaned away, refusing to take the necklace back. "No, it's fine. I know that necklace meant a lot to you and it's the least I can do."
Addie still looked hesitant about taking the jewellery, especially from someone she had only met a few days ago. Still, he was already like a brother to her and she knew that she would miss him incredibly when he left. She would like something to remember him by... "Fine, just as long as I get to give you something to remember me by."
"Sure." Logan was just happy that Addie accepted his gift. "What is it?"
Addie pulled a beaded bracelet off of her wrist. It was simple white beads with small black Chinese symbols on them. It wasn't anything too girlish so she was pretty sure Logan wouldn't have his masculinity damaged too much by wearing it. "It may not be thousands of dollars but it's something. We will see each other again, you know?"
For such a shy girl, she was so sure about that one thing. And deep down, Logan knew that she was right. He was a strong believer in fate and what was more fateful than a crocodile attack bringing two people together?
Logan took the bracelet from her and slid it on his right wrist. He wouldn't take it off for anything and he hoped that Addie wouldn't take off her necklace either. It may not have been a thousand dollars like she thought, but it still was a pretty penny and Mrs. Henderson had put a lot of thought into choosing the piece of jewellery that her son had asked her to buy.
"I know. I'll miss you though." Logan managed to put a sad smile on his face. He knew that the release papers were almost completely filled out and he only had a few more minutes left with this girl. This girl that he felt so protective over that it physically hurt to leave her. But then again, that could just be the stitches.
Logan looked up to see Carlos heading their way. It was time to go.
Logan pulled Addie in for one last careful hug just before Carlos reached them with the wheelchair. Logan sighed as he let his friend help him from the bench and into the chair. Logan watched as Addie sat quietly on the bench while he was being wheeled away. He just wanted one last day to spend in this hospital so he would have time to say a proper goodbye.
The doors to the hospital opened and Logan was immediately bombarded with questions from paparazzi, fans, and media. Everyone wanted to know what happened to Logan Henderson.
"How are you feeling, Logan?"
"When are you going back on tour?"
"Is there a love interest between you and the other victim?"
"Was the entire attack a publicity stunt?"
The second the words left that one reporters mouth, everyone else shut up and turned to glare at him. Even the other reporters looked a little pissed because after someone was in a coma for weeks, with broken bones and wounds covering his entire body, it was not okay to question the reality of the story. How could someone had the indecency to ask if it was all a stunt?
"No." Logan answered coldly. "It was not a stunt and I would not put myself and the people around me through that kind of pain to get a few more people to notice me."
Nobody asked more questions after that and Logan was wheeled away.
Kendall and James were waiting in the limo for the other two Big Time Rush members to join them. They instantly noticed the pissed expressions on Logan and Carlos' faces but they didn't question it. After seeing the hoards of paparazzi outside, they had a vague idea about what had got to them.
"So Logie, are you ready to get back into the real world?" Kendall grinned and Logan simply smiled.
"I was born ready."
Well, I hope you enjoyed it and don't forget to review! I love getting feedback! But what sucks is that I had the entire outline for this story written out, chapter by chapter, and then I DELETED it! Can you believe it? I meant to delete another outline that I had discontinued but I hit the wrong button and now it's gone forever...
I'll rewrite it, but I'm still pretty bummed about losing the first outline.
