Chapter 4: The Engagement Party with a Disapproving Brother
"Will you marry me?" was the only words ringing through Mokuba's ears. "Yes! Yes, of course." Mokuba said with tears running down his cheeks. Noa smiled and put the ring on Mokuba's finger, kissing him afterwards. Yami and Atemu cheered while Yuugi and Heba giggled, both actions scaring the newly engaged couple.
"Heh, we forgot you guys were here." Noa said. "Yeah…" Mokuba added, embarrassed that he kissed his new fiancée in front of his friends. "Well guys," Heba said. "Now that you two are going to get married soon, it's time for planning the engagement party!" Yuugi said, finishing off what Heba didn't. "Engagement party," They asked. "Yeah, it will be awesome," Heba said. "I don't think we need an engagement party." Mokuba said sweat dropping. "Mokie, we should go along with it. It could be held next week." Noa persuaded Mokuba. Mokuba retaliated with a sigh, "Ok, we will have the party."
"Yay," The younger twins screamed. "We will be going now. We have some things to attend to." Yami said looking at his brother. "Alright, thank you guys for all of this." Noa told the four. "No probs. We wanted to do this for ya'll." Yuugi said. "Good Night, you two, be safe." Yuugi said while he walked away with Yami. "You too," Noa called back as Mokuba waved.
Now two people were sitting under the Sakura tree. Noa and Mokuba; the newly engaged couple, "I love you Noa." Mokuba sighed out as he nuzzled into Noa's chest. "I love you too Mokie. With all my heart," Noa replied hugging him tightly.
After a few minutes of minutes watching the moonlight, Mokuba had fallen asleep in Noa's arms. It took a while to recognize that his fiancée was silently snoozing on him. Now noticing, Noa slowly picked Mokuba up, bridal style, and walked back to the mansion in the silent night.
Getting back to Kaiba Mansion, he walked in unsuspected, due to Atemu and Heba forgetting to uncover the camera lenses. He quietly went up the stairs to Mokuba's room. Silently closing the door behind them, Noa laid Mokuba on the bed and went to the balcony.
'The best night of my life…' Noa thought. He went back into the room, closing the balcony doors behind him and went to the bed. 'Is best being spent with you,' He finished. Mokuba nuzzled into his chest and Noa held him close, falling to sleep moments after.
With all that went on, Yuugi, Heba, Yami, and Atemu have planned everything for the engagement party, and Mokuba and Noa made sure they were not around Seto and Joey. But keeping their relationship between six people (including themselves) would not last long.
Three weeks later at the Engagement Party…
Yuugi, Heba Atemu and Yami made a small get-together for Mokuba and Noa. They invited Ryou and Bakura, Mariku and Marik, Anzu and Mako, Tristan and Duke, Mai, Alister and Valon and possibly not a good idea, Joey and Seto. They didn't say who the engaged couple was but they were going to be a surprise.
Everything was going well, the party was lively and everyone was having lots of fun. But at some point, everything must come to an end. "Okay everybody," Yuugi said getting on the stage. "Are you ready to see who this party is dedicated to?" He asked. "Yeah," They exclaimed.
"Think you know who it is?" Joey asked Seto. "I don't care who it is, Pup." Seto replied. "Give it up for Mokuba and Noa!" Yuugi cheered. Everyone (except Seto and Joey who did a while later) cheered even though they were in a state of shock as the couple came and stood on stage.
"Now…I care." Seto said, pulling Joey along to the front. 'Mokuba is in trouble now' Joey thought. Seto pushed Mariku, Anzu, Ryou, Heba, Tristan, and Alister to the ground. "Kaiba, you better watch yourself." Marik warned. "Sorry! He's a little temperamental at the moment." Joey apologized as he was being dragged.
Seto and Joey got to the front of the stage and stared at the couple. Mokuba looked down was startled. Gathering up all the courage he had, Mokuba took the microphone. "Thank you all for coming to the party, if it wasn't for Yuugi, Heba, Yami and Atemu, this would've never commenced. So I believe we should applaud them for doing this." He said, and everyone clapped except Seto.
Seto Kaiba was beyond furious. "I hope you all continue to have a great time." Mokuba said finishing off and putting the mike back. "Mokuba Kaiba, get away from that doppelganger and get down here!" Seto yelled. "Hi Seto," Noa said. "Get the hell away from my brother!" Seto shouted. "No! I'm staying and Noa's staying!" Mokuba retaliated, hugging his fiancée tighter. "You're coming home, no exceptions. Roland, get Mokuba. Puppy, we're leaving." Seto ordered, walking away with Joey at his heels.
"Alright sir," Roland said. Roland walked up to the couple. Yuugi, Heba, Mariku and Ryou went up to Roland. Yami, Atemu, Marik and Bakura went to catch up with Seto and Joey. "Roland, you are not taking Mokuba." Yuugi and Heba said. "Sorry, I was ordered so I have to obey." Roland said pushing the hikaris off the stage.
Coming closer, Roland tried to grab Mokuba, but Noa put himself in the way and kicked Roland in the chest. Roland grunted, stumbling back. "You are not taking my Mokie and that's final!" Noa roared. "Don't worry, I got my methods." Roland retorted, taking out a paralysis dart. "If you dodge this, I got plenty more." Roland said aiming for Noa.
When he found a good spot, he swiftly threw the dart at Noa. But Mokuba jumped in the way and got hit in the stomach. When he fell, he slowly got up. But the dart was increasingly taking toll. "Mokie," Noa panicked. Mokuba tried to stand but he stumbled, nearly falling off the stage. Noa ran up to him and held him tight in his arms. Mokuba started tear. "Mokie, it will be alright. He will not get you." Noa said to Mokuba. But the dart had spread and the only thing he was able to do was breathe.
"Don't worry. He's not dead; just paralyzed for 5 minutes." Roland said. "You bastard, you people have no sense of respect for Mokuba. He just wants to be happy and you people are not allowing that, you're preventing it instead!" Noa yelled. Noa picked up Mokuba and ran off.
"Sir," Roland said, through the walkie-talkie. "What is it now Roland?" Seto responded. "Mokuba has left with the doppelganger." Roland replied. "You let them escaped!?" Seto roared. "Mokuba got hit with a paralysis dart and the doppelganger just picked him up and ran." Roland replied. "Then go get him!" Seto screamed through the electronic. "But they left 30 minutes ago…" Roland said. "You… Are… Fired..." Seto stated. Roland ran out the party screaming.
With Kaiba and Joey
"Seto, the yamis are behind us." Joey said. "The hell," Kaiba yelled. "Kaiba," Yami yelled. "What do you nimrods want?" Kaiba asked rudely. "Why can't you let your brother be happy?" Atemu asked loudly. "He is happy. Ever since you messed with things you shouldn't meddle with, he has been getting everything. Now when that doppelganger comes around, 'proclaiming' that he makes Mokuba happy, that's the last straw! My little brother isn't supposed to think that fake would be with him forever like the other one did on that island. Compelling him, you have no idea what I'm doing for him!" Kaiba screamed. "You are subjecting the boy to HELL, Kaiba. If you want to help, try comprehending that is actually Noa whom Yuugi brought back. Be happy you overgrown child!" Bakura yelled.
"Puppy, come on. I don't have time for brats." Seto ordered. Joey sighed. "You guys should try to keep them together, Mokuba has been so happy; Seto is just too blind to see it. Just do your best for Mokie and sorry for Seto's behavior. He's not taking it well." Joey said before walking up to the limo Seto was going into and went in.
With Mokuba and Noa
Noa ran as fast as he could. Two blocks past, then five, and another five. All the way until he couldn't run anymore, when he looked around, and saw that he was almost out of Domino City. He was still holding Mokuba as tight as he could extremely worried about him. "Mokie, are you ok?" Noa asked as he sat down by a building. Slowly, Mokuba looked at Noa. He smiled to show he would be fine. Noa sighed, "Thank goodness," Noa said. "We can't go back to the mansion or I'll never see you again. Where should we go?" Noa thought out loud.
"Yuugi…" Mokuba rasped. "Makes sense, but how will we get back to their house?" Noa asked, knowing they had no money. "Pocket…" Mokuba said, trying to make his voice clearer. Noa checked Mokuba's jeans pocket and saw that there was 50 dollars. "Alright, let's plan this out; we haven't eaten yet and we have to get over there. After you get control of yourself, we can get a sandwich and a drink to share at the nearest deli and hop on a taxi to get to Yuugi and Heba's house." Noa strategized.
"Kay." Mokuba said, trying to move his body. "Slow down Mokie, we don't need to hurry. I can wait." Noa said. Mokuba cleared his throat, "But we have to get going, it isn't safe around here at night." Mokuba explained. "Alright, tell me if you need help with anything." Noa replied. "Ok." Mokuba said, getting his arms moving.
Two hours and 20 minutes later…
Mokuba was now able to limp around, move all parts of his body and talk much better. "On the way there, do you want me to carry you?" Noa asked. "Do you want to? I don't wanna be a burden." Mokuba replied. "Don't worry; you're never a burden for me." Noa said, putting Mokuba on his back. "Ok." Mokuba said getting comfy and secured. And Noa walked all the way to a deli; which was only a block away.
He entered the store and ordered a ham and cheese sandwich in a hero and bought a bottle of orange juice. Once they left, they found a bench and began to eat their sandwich. "Noa," Mokuba said. "Yes Mokie?" Noa answered. "Would you have let Roland get me to protect the both of us?" Mokuba asked. "I would fight till I die before I would let anyone take you from me. You are my entire world." Noa replied. Mokuba smiled. "I'm glad to hear that." He said hugging Noa. "I'm glad you are." Noa said, kissing Mokuba's forehead. Mokuba laughed. "Alright let's go get a cab to Yuugi's place." Noa said. "Kay." Mokuba replied.
With Seto Kaiba
"Where the hell is my little brother," Kaiba roared. "Calm down Seto, I'm sure he will turn up soon." Joey replied trying to get Kaiba to relax. "Puppy, if he is still with that doppelganger, I am going to find them and kill that guy." Kaiba seethed. "Seto Kaiba, calm down!" Joey yelled, getting agitated. Kaiba sighed. "I'm sorry Puppy. I just can't relax with my little brother making stupid decisions and not listening to me." Kaiba explained.
"I know but you have to focus more on us and less on your little brother's protection. He is growing up Seto and you have to let him make his own mistakes." Joey reasoned. "You're right, let watch a movie." Kaiba said. "Alright," Joey replied cuddling next to him.
With Noa and Mokuba
Noa fetched them a cab and carried Mokuba inside. "Where are you two youngsters going to?" A driver asked. "Kame Game Shop, please." Mokuba said. "That's a long way from here, are you sure you have enough?" He asked. "Yes we do, now can we go now? It's getting late." Noa replied. "Ok." The driver said submissively. And off they went to Yuugi's house.
20 minutes later…
The cab driver just parked outside of Kame Game Shop, "Ok, that will be $29.83." He said. Noa gave him the 30 dollars and carried Mokuba out. "Keep the change." Noa said. "Thank you Mr.!" Mokuba said. "You're welcome." The man replied. The sun just went down and Noa walked up to the door. He rang the doorbell and they heard lots of thumping on the other side.
On the other side of the door
"I'm getting it!" Yuugi yelled. "No I'm getting it! I'm the older twin!" Heba replied, pushing Yuugi out of the way. "Hey Atemu, do something with your hikari!" Yami said trying to make sure Yuugi doesn't fall. "I will if your hikari let's my Tenshi get the door!" Atemu replied. And when they all reached the stairs they tumbled down all together. "I'm almost at the door…"Heba grunted. "Good, I'm gonna hop over you and get it!" Yuugi said jumping over Yami and Atemu and launching himself off of Heba's back. "No!" Heba said.
Yuugi opened the door. "Oh, hi Mokuba and Noa, are you guys alright?" Yuugi said. "Yeah, we are I guess." Noa said. Yami grunted and got to the door. "It's late, how did you guys get here?" He asked. "We took a taxi." Mokuba explained. "Oh ok." Yuugi said. "Why are you guys not home?" Heba questioned. "I know Kaiba would be very worried." He added. "We were wondering if we can hang out here until we are ready for the wedding because if we go to the mansion, Kaiba is going to take Mokie away from me and kill me with his bare hands." Noa explained.
"You two are always welcomed here." Yuugi said. "Come in, we got a spare bedroom, you guys can use it for the time being." Heba said. "Thanks so much." Mokuba said. "You are welcome." Yami said. Noa walked in and placed Mokuba on the couch. "I'll be back, Mokie." Noa said as he went to the guest room. "Kay Noa." Mokuba replied. "So when do you think the marriage should take place?" Yuugi asked Mokuba. "By my birthday, which is in a few days." He replied. "Alright, Yami and Atemu shall get ready for the ritual and we gotta get you a dress." Yuugi winked. "A dress?" Mokuba asked.
"Yeah a dress." Heba replied. Mokuba was taken back. "Why must I wear a dress?" Mokuba asked. "It's traditional, and it won't work if you are not in one." Yuugi said. "Yup, Yuugi and I were in dresses so there isn't anything weird about it." Heba added. "Alright, but it can't be short or extremely frilly." Mokuba stated. "Kay kay, it's no problem. We can find you what you want." Yuugi said. "Then we will search tomorrow?" Mokuba asked. "Well, if it's ok with your fiancée then yes." Heba answered. "Kay kay," Mokuba said.
"Mokie, do you need me to carry you over here?" Noa asked. "Umm, I don't think so. I'll be fine." Mokuba replied. "Alright, come in when you're ready." Noa said. "Kay." Mokuba replied. "So, we should be getting back to the…you know who, so we are gonna see you later." Heba said dragging Yuugi along to their adjacent rooms. "Alright, Night night," Mokuba replied.
Now that he was alone, Mokuba figured that he should go to Noa. When he got up, he tried walking but his legs were asleep and could it felt weird to move. "Noa, I need help." Mokuba called, watching as Noa sped his way. "What's the matter? You can't walk?" He asked. "Sadly, I am still having problems with my legs but it will wear off soon." Mokuba explained sweat dropping. "Want me to carry you there?" Noa asked. "Yes please," Mokuba replied. "Alright," Noa said picking Mokuba up bridal style. "I gotta start practicing for the wedding." Noa said, making Mokuba laugh. "Well the ritual is in three days." Mokuba said. "The wedding happens three days after." He informed.
"Oh alright, now I know what to study for." Noa said. "Yup, but I'm wearing a dress." Mokuba said blushing. "Well when am I going to see it?" Noa asked. "Yuugi, Heba and I need your permission to go find one." Mokuba explained. "Then, go get your dress so I can brag about how beautiful my bride is." Noa replied. "Kay kay," Mokuba said blushing. Noa place Mokuba on the bed and gave him some clothes, "Can you take a shower on your own?" Noa asked. "Just come with me." Mokuba replied. "Ok, Mokie" Noa said picking him up and going to the bathroom that was in the room. Noa put Mokuba on the toilet and put on the water in the tub.
"Bubble bath," He asked. "Yes, please." Mokuba answered like a little kid. Once the bath was ready Mokuba got undressed and Noa carried him to the tub. The water was soothing hot and Mokuba was delighted to be in it, today was really rough and he was afraid that his big brother would flip out and take him away from Noa.
"So, how are you feeling Mokie?" Noa asked. Mokuba looked at his fiancée and gave a half-hearted smile, "Honestly, Noa, I'm tired, confused and a little stressed that Seto was so disrespectful. But it doesn't matter because you're here. So right now, I'm ok." Mokuba replied. Noa kissed his forehead, "I'm sorry that the party was ruined. It was going so well until things started going wrong." Noa replied. "It's fine; we had fun before the incident." Mokuba responded.
"Well you'll be fine," Noa said washing Mokuba's hair. "He'll understand in no time, alright?" He added. "Kay," Mokuba responded, rinsing the soap out of his hair. "Ready to get out," Noa asked. "Yup," Mokuba said. "Ok," Noa replied, picking Mokuba up and carrying him to the room. He helped drying Mokuba and putting his pajamas on.
"Everything ok Mokie?" Noa asked. "Yes Noa. Thanks for helping me out." He replied hugging him. "It's my job to help you out. If I didn't, what kind of lover would I be?" Noa said. Mokuba laughed, "A mean one." He retorted, sticking his tongue out at Noa. "And that wouldn't be fun, wouldn't it?" Noa replied. "Nope," Mokuba concluded, making room for Noa on the bed. Noa rested close to Mokuba. Mokuba nuzzled Noa's chest, "Night night Noa, I love you." He said.
Noa kissed him, "I love you too. Good night Mokie." And with that, the couple drifted off to a peaceful sleep.
Kirua: Imma be mean and make you wait for the next chapter. Maybe for another year. *devilish grin*
Yami: He lies. It'll be up later on.
