Rosalie walked into the house and locked the door, hearing Ratigan knock over and over again. She didn't answer at the fear of putting them in danger. Rosalie swept a piece of brown hair out of her face and held her sword up. Suddenly, she heard a soft amount of laughter "Not so powerful are we my dear?" Rosalie looked above her at the second floor, the entire room was in darkness, no sign of movement anywhere. Elijah's voice was the only thing heard in the entire building. The rain started to fall outside, soon to summon some thunder and lightning.

Rosalie jumped at the sound of the cackling thunder and heard more chuckling "Oh does the storm frighten you?"

"I am not afraid of you!" she held up her sword higher as she walked up the stair case, so it glimmered in the light that was provided by the lightening "Come out and fight you coward!"

As she reached the top of the floor she suddenly heard a shout behind her "Rosalie, look out!" but just a moment too late, Elijah backhanded her to the ground, as she attempted to pick up her sword Elijah lightly stepped on her hand. Mavis was held tight by Samantha, and she suddenly bit her on the hand releasing her "Oh you little brat!" Samantha shouted. Mavis made her way to Rosalie's side, cowering in fear as Rosalie stood up rubbing her stinging cheek.

"Samantha please don't do this.. " Rosalie pleaded as she stood next to Mavis "You deserve better than this.."

Samantha softened for a moment, Elijah stared at her and back to Rosalie "Too bad your poor fiancé couldn't see you one last time.." he cocked the gun, then suddenly a small ball entered the room "What the-"

'BOOM! The small grenade exploded, sending everyone flying around the room. Suddenly, Alex and Ratigan ran through the smoke and debris. Rosalie stood wide eyed as she felt Ratigan pick her up off the floor "Are you crazy? A grenade?!"

Alex sent an innocent look to her "it worked didn't it?"

"Well yes, but Elijah-" she turned her head and saw Elijah sneaking though a different entrance, Ratigan scowled and followed him through. "Why does he always want to save the day." Rosalie muttered to herself.

Rosalie began to follow him until she heard a scream. She turned to see Samantha hanging off the broken part of the building where the grenade exploded. The building's floor was starting to crumble as the lightning striked again, setting the brush on the bottom of the building ablaze. The plants were starting to hit the building, creating a firey pit. Rosalie reached out her hand "Samantha grab my hand!"

Samantha reached up and slipped slightly, screaming as Rosalie reached both hands and Alex held her waist, allowing her to reach further. She finally grabbed her hand and pulled her up.

Samantha got up, dusting off her dress "Wh-Why did you save me?" she looked at Rosalie wide amazement "You should have left me.. I don't deserve it." tears started to roll down her face as Rosalie hugged her "Once a friend, you're stuck with me.." they smiled and Rosalie turned to Alex "Alex, get Mavis and Samantha.. get out of here.."

Alex did not hesitate as he grabbed Rosalie's sword "Make sure he doesn't do anything stupid." He smiled as Rosalie followed Ratigan to the top floor of the mansion.

Ratigan stood in the continuing darkness, listening for the sounds of Elijah's footsteps. He immediately turned around, his cape flourishing as she flipped around. He grabbed Elijah by the collar and slammed him into the wall "Give me a good reason why I shouldn't end your puny life now.."

Elijah smiled wide "That is a little dark for you isn't it professor?" Elijah snuck a small knife out of his pocket and scratched the professor across the stomach, causing him to fall to the floor. Elijah kicked him in the stomach, causing him to roll to the floor in pain. Elijah laughed "I knew you were too weak… Rosalie softened you didn't she? You are nothing but a weakling.." Ratigan's eyes turned an bright red when he grabbed Elijah and threw him across the room.

again and crashed him through one of the long windows, dangling him at the top floor of the house.

"James!" Rosalie watched in horror as she saw the same night in Paris all over again.. this time Elijah's end was near "Don't end it here..He's not worth it.."

Ratigan turned around and softened for a moment, then turned to Elijah's scared face. Underneath him the fire cascaded all over the building, making the pit even more deadly "P-Please let me go! I promise.. I'll leave..spare my life.." Ratigan's scowl turned into a softened one, as he pulled Elijah inside "Get out.." he pushed him away as Rosalie walked up to him, embracing him as he ran his claws through her hair.
Elijah cocked his gun and ran towards the two "You have poor judgement!" he took the shot as Ratigan pushed Rosalie out of the way. The bullet hit James in the chest, as Elijah pounced on him and sent both of them out the window. Rosalie stood wide eyed and shouted "NOO!" she almost jumped out the window herself if Basil hadn't grabbed her in time "Miss Hampstead-"

Elijah clung onto a part of the balcony that consequently broke off, sending him plummeting into the fire. Ratigan hit a landing on the building and fell, before he hit the fire, Lorenzo popped out of a window and grabbed him, pulling him inside. In a panic, Rosalie pushed him out of the way and headed downstairs. Lorenzo had pulled him through the window and rested his unconscious body on the ground. Suddenly the fire decided to die down, at suggestion of the rain.

Rosalie almost fell to the floor as she held his shoulders "Please..Please don't die… this is all my fault.." She shook her head "I should have never brought us here…" she rested her head on his chest "I need you here with me.. I can't do this on my own.." Tears started to roll down her face "..I love you.." she continued to cry as Lorenzo stood comforting her..as a friend.

Suddenly, Ratigan's body moved slightly as he grumbled to himself. Rosalie immediately shot up "J-James?!" she smiled and jumped on him "You're alive!"

Ratigan shot up in pain "And in pain!"

Basil and Dawson ran into the room and noticed the joyous celebration "But.. Ratigan.. how did you?" Dawson muttered. Basil smiled and walked up to the professor "Have you checked your pocket's Professor?"

Ratigan quirked an eyebrow and slipped into his chest pocket, feeling around until he reached the engagement ring that he had given Rosalie. The large diamond had a bullet pierced through it, almost piercing his heart. Rosalie laughed "One tough diamond.." she grabbed the ring and kissed him "I thought I lost you forever.."

"It takes a lot to take me down.. eh Basil." he looked at his former adversary.

Back outside, the crowd applauded as the police showed up strolling down the property. Two guards grabbed Samantha and started to handcuff her. Rosalie ran past the guards as Basil and Lorenzo was helping Ratigan out the building.

"Wait! She's innocent!"

The constable puffed up his chest "On what grounds?"

Rosalie stood up taller "She was blackmailed by Elijah and was forced to work against me.." she sent a wink to Samantha "I give my word that she is innocent.." Rosalie crossed her fingers behind her, noticed by Ratigan. The constable waved to the boys handcuffing her "let her go boys.. Miss Hampstead pleaded her case." Samantha was released and turned to Rosalie "But, after all I did.. why?"

Ginger appeared next to Samantha, resting a hand on her shoulder "Once a friend, you're stuck with us.." Samantha hugged both of them as Rosalie broke away to help Ratigan into the doctors carriage "My dear, did I just see you lie at law enforcement?" he whispered as he was helped on "I never said I was perfect, you just already had that assumption.." she winked. After helping him, Lorenzo sighed and ran a hand through his hair. Ratigan grabbed his hand and shook it "Consider this our truce.." Lorenzo smiled and shook his hand "Thanks Ratigan."

Big daddy grabbed Samantha and hugged her "Baby doll, I'm sorry.. You are and always will be my first priority."

Samantha smiled "I understand daddy, I needed to step off my pedestal anyway.." she kissed his head and bumped into Rodger "Rodger I- I know."

Rodger held her on the shoulders "You did a very wrong thing, almost killing me and Mavis in the process.. I am sorry but I can't forgive you right away. Or even step into a new relationship with you.."

Samantha turned as Rodger continued "But that doesn't mean we can't still have a good friendship.." Samantha smiled and hugged him.

Big daddy stood at the steps of the mansion "Well the mansion is a tad singed.. but I would like to thank the efforts of Mr. Basil of Baker street and Dr. Dawson for their help!" he motioned to the ambulance "And also Professor Ratigan and our dear Rosalie Hampstead!" the wedding crowd applauded as Rosalie turned to Ratigan before he was taken to the hospital "James I'm sorry for everything.. you are right, I did change.. but my love for you is stronger than any change in me.." Ratigan touched her face and she grabbed his hand "Our love is strong no matter where we are.. and I will love you no matter where your path takes you." He kissed her hand and let go, strolling onto the carriage. Riding away into the setting sun, Big daddy patted her on the back "So?"

Rosalie "Despite all the tears, laughter and anger, that's what makes us want to be with one another most."

"That's my girl." Big daddy smiled as he watched her hold the hand he kissed.
