Sougo looked down at the red chalked marking on the ground. He was walking into her territory or at least what she named as her territory. It was a dangerous mission that he was not so sure he could go through with but he had to. The convenience store that sold his sister's favorite type of chips lied in this here domain and Mitsuba was running low.
"I just have to go in and out. How likely is it that I will meet up with her?" He pondered to himself aloud. With one deep breath he stepped passed the childish border made with the girl's favorite color. So far, it was not so bad.
Feeling more and more confident with every step he took he began to quicken his pace and managed to get to the store fairly quickly. He bought as many bags of the chips as he could and left the store feeling like there was going to be no problems at all. How wrong that boy was.
"I heard from a little birdie you were spotted around here." A red-headed girl spat at him upon his exiting the store. He did not show it but he was cringing inside. If Kagura got mad enough she could get as strong as her brother; that is of course what he heard. He had never truly angered the girl to the point where she could kill, of course not until he rejected one of her best friends.
"Are you following me again little girl? I told you I don't want any cookies."
"It's nice of you to come here after what you told Nobume." She told him, completely ignoring the mockery, in a way Sougo assumed was sarcasm.
"I knew you would get wind of that. Girls always share their little sob stories together with a box of tissues at their bedsides."
"How'd you know about that?!" She shouted before realizing he was messing with her. She cleared her throat and began again. "She was pretty messed up but I wanted to thank you."
"What?" On occasions Sougo expressed his emotions on his face and in his voice, this was such an occasion.
A slight blush formed on her cheeks and if the boy was not in such a petrified state he would have jumped at the chance to take a photo. She shifted slightly side to side in her place, hesitating to continue. "It makes since she was upset over getting rejected and when she came to me and Soyo looking dejected we were about to storm your place but she told me about the way you handled her. I really didn't think you were capable of kindly turning someone down."
He stared at her for a bit still a bit shocked but quickly regained his awareness and turned around walking away. "You look down at me too much."
"I guess so. Maybe I need to think more about the way I think about you."
He paused again. 'Just take it Sougo, don't be stupid. Don't play the honest guy. Damn it!' He spun around and jogged up to her and looked straight into her azure eyes. "She lied to you."
She looked up at him offended. "What the hell do you mean?"
"You're right about me. I insulted her when she confessed to me. I'll give you a free shot at me, just don't hit the face."
Blood dripped from the self inflicted bite wound she made on her lip. He clenched his muscles in wait of the punch or kick that never happened.
"What are you doing?"
"I should be so angry at you right now and I am. Don't think I'm not hitting you because you decided to change for a second and tell the truth because that's not it, well maybe a bit, but overall that's not it. More than anything, I'm more pissed off at her for lying to me about it."
He ruffled her hair about in a friendly but irritatingly annoying gesture; she slapped his hand away with a slight smile on her lips. "I had my test of strength against Kamui and it turned out quite better than expected, maybe it's your turn now." With those last words he turned around again and this time continued walking even with Kagura's last words to him.
"Just to let you know, you're not too bad of an influence on my brother!"
There she was left alone to contemplate what to do next about her deteriorating relationship with Nobume. In the end with some grumbles she decided it would be for the best to talk to her about it. With that being decided Kagura made way for Nobume's place.
She took out the spare key she was given and opened the house door. The girl lived alone but was being supplied money by her family or someone like that, Kagura was not too sure; the place was pretty decent looking.
"I'm watching an interesting show want to join?" Nobume asked noticing the other girl's presence. Kagura sat down on the couch next to the blue headed girl.
"I wanted to talk to you."
Realizing the severity of the conversation Nobume paused the television. "What is it?"
"I spoke with Sadist today."
"I'm sure he was happy for the thanks you gave him."
"Actually he told me the truth. Why did you lie to me about the way he rejected you!? Aren't I here for you to tell me everything that bothers you?!" She shouted pulling her friend's face to look her in the eyes.
"If I told you, he would be on your mind not me." She told her deadpanned.
"What are you talking about? I'm here thinking about you now aren't I?"
"That's only because I lied. You have trust issues."
Kagura slapped her. "Clearly you're the one with trust issues if you couldn't properly talk to me!"
"If we have such problems with trusting each other maybe we should rethink our friendship." Nobume grinded her teeth rubbing the spot she was slapped on the face.
"I agree!" With that Kagura threw the key at her friend's face and stormed out.
She arrived home and confided in Ginpachi, spilling everything including her tears. Her guardian comforted her patting her head as she continued.
"Why do the boys make friendship seem so easy they fight and make-up and I can't even have a proper fight to make-up from? How'd we even become friends in the first place? They know exactly how they became friends; I even know how they became friends. They tried so hard to become a team and I don't have the will to even try hard enough to fix the one I have now."
"Humans are complicated creatures, each have their own strengths and weaknesses. Those brats are all socially impaired and have a hard time expressing their feelings making their strength being together and understanding the other. You just need to find out what you guys need to keep your bonds strong." Ginpachi told her giving her the wise speech of the week.
Kagura nodded, she only understood part of what he was telling her but she knew that soon enough she would get it. She was truly happy for his support. "Thanks Gin-Chan."
If it were not for Ginpachi Kagura would not know where she was in life. One day, she hopes that she can repay him in full for everything.
