'Cause there's no drink or drug I've tried
To rid the curse of these lover's eyes
And I feel numb, beneath your tongue
Your strength just makes me feel less strong

He could feel his heart race. He doesn't know which diner but he could feel it.
A diner which was decorated with red and white tablecloth. He could hear the bell chimes as he walked in and he eyed the surroundings.
"Mitchell." a soft call from his left side caught his attention. He looked and saw her sitting on the side.
He rushed to her and gently ran his hand through her hair.
"What happened?" he asked.
She uneasily shifts in her seat and faced him. She looked around to check if Herrick might be around.
"I heard a loud crash downstairs and grabbed the book. He saw me and grabbed me but I manage to blind him for a moment. He tried to follow me but the wards prevented him.. for a short time."
"Wards?"
"I put some wards on the other part of the house."
He saw blood dripping from her forehead and he gulped. He gently wiped them off ignoring his body's call for blood.
"We need to get you out of here."
They went out of the diner and walked quietly out in the streets.
Mitchell is still debating with himself whether to take her back to the house or someplace safe.
Then he felt the presence. He grabbed her near and she was a little startled. Two men came walking towards them, Mitchell and her turned around normally but when they turned and saw Herrick, she grabbed tight on him.
"I knew you'd come crashing to her aid." Herrick muttered.
Mitchell kept her behind but she slid the book to her bag and kept her guard.
"Why are you doing this, Mitchell?" he asked. "I am doing this for our own sake. If we perform the ritual, we will become invincible. From the sunlight, from the spiritual things and it can even make us invincible with stakes. Pure immortality. Don't you want that?"
"Immortality with blood hunger? Sounds not good." he spat back.
"You're one of us, Mitchell. Whether you like it or not." he said. He glanced at the vampire behind him and snapped his finger. "Get the witch and the book."
Debbie pulled out her silver blade.
"You have that?" Mitchell asked.
"Yeah. Just for emergencies." she muttered. A vampire grabbed her and Mitchell pushed it off her. She was pulled by another one and snapped her fingers to make it fly across the other side. "Didn't know that would work."
She felt one running towards her so she pulled the blade and pierced it through the vampire's heart. Blood came out and spilled on her shirt.
"Ugh, mess." she muttered and turned to see Herrick.
"I've been dealing with you for centuries."
"Why don't you deal for another one?" she glared and punched him in the face before trying to pierce the stake but Herrick grabbed her neck and threw the stake away.
"After I get the book and force you to perform the ritual, I'd burn you alive." he muttered. She laughed as she struggles to breathe.
"Not if I kill you first." she spat back. She kicked him in the balls and when he let go, she kicked his head.
Mitchell noticed two other vampires coming to Herrick's aid, he snapped the neck of the vampire he's holding and glance at Debbie.
"Watch out!" he shouted and pushed him off the way, making Mitchell being thrown with the other vampire.
She grabbed the silver stake and watched as the vampire tries to taunt her.
"You like playing with a witch?" she muttered. The vampire pushed her to the wall and she hit her head again.
"You fucking hit my head again." she glared as she stand up and wiped the blood of her head and mouth. "I'll turn you into a worm."
She saw the smirk on his lips when he saw the blood dripping from her head.
The vampire grabbed her in the neck and tried to bite her but she quickly grabbed the stake and buried it on his chest.

"Mitchell! She shouted and tried to go to Mitchell but a vampire grabbed her back and hit her unconscious. Mitchell snapped the vampire's neck and turned to see them taking her away. "Debbie!" Mitchell shouted and tried to catch them but they already rode Herrick's car and sped off. Mitchell's eyes burn with anger as he stared at the car. "I'll get you back."

"Deborah."

The voice called her. A very familiar voice. Soft hands ran through her dark hair and when she opened her eyes.

"Maya?"

The blonde smiled at her. Her eyes shook in surprise. Is she dead?

"How.. You.. It's impossible." she stammered. Maya simply smiled at her, ocean blue eyes staring right at her brown hues.

"Yes.. Deborah.. I'm dead. For centuries." she said as she continues to stroke her hair. They stood still there for a moment, she laying on her lap like a child does with her mother.

"I'm so proud of you." Maya whispered.

"Why are you proud of me? I'm worthless. I'm nothing like Daniel or Katrina or you."

"Shhh."

She looked at Maya.

"You survived. It means you mean something. You were the one who are there." she said. "Remember Deborah... A witch can start it.. and a witch can end it."

Confused, she stared at her and simply nodded.

"Protect the book."

The book. The book!

She stormed up and realized that she wasn't with Maya anymore. She was in a cell. A dark cold cell with hands chained. Her mouth was taped around to kept her from uttering spells. Herrick.

"Mitchell are you sure you don't want me to go?"

Mitchell glanced back at George as he wore his coat. "No."

"It's dangerous."

"That's why i don't want you to come. George." he said. "Stay here."

George was to argue but he knew it will just be nonsense.

Mitchell went out of the house and immediately ran off. He knew where Herrick would take her. He knew it very well.

She let out muffled screams under the tape and fought off the vampires that were trying to hold her. Herrick pulled off the tape from her face. It sure hurt. She glared at him.

"Where's the book?"

"Oh.. you're precious little book, m'lady?" he smirked. He snapped his fingers and a vampire gave it to him. Deborah glared at him like a tiger ready to devour the person infront of her. "Give that to me."

Herrick shook his head. "Not until you do what I say. Perform the ritual... Then you can have this thing back." She scoffed and looked away from him. "Like I'd do that for you."
Herrick grabbed her neck and tried to choke her. She struggled to breathe under his hold.
"You do what I say or I'll end you."
The witch just chuckled. "End me now, Herrick. I'd love to be dead rather than do your stupi-"
He hit her and blood came gushing from her mouth. The vampires were becoming uneasy. Her blood is something to crave for. Something rare. Herrick signaled them to stop. He grabbed her face and made her look at him. "I'm not going to stop until you say yes."

It was all until she was covered in blood until a vampire came in the room. "Sir." she called.
"What is it?" Herrick growled.
"Someone's here." she replied.
"Who?"

"Mitchell."

The name made her turn and look at Herrick. No. Mitchell. Why.
"Looks like someone is here to play." he smirked. "Keep her there. I'll be back."
Herrick went out of the room.

As Mitchell approached the door of the place, he was determined to do one thing. Save her.
