Episode 18: The Final Fantasy Team
-Last Time On Quarantine-
"These nightmares won't stop! Maybe I should just finally give up."
The final three were put to three tests of speed, smarts, and strength.
"These events will be a TRUE test of your abilities."
And after three grueling tests, the contestants became fatigued...
"Ugh! *Pant* *Weeze* Revenge! *Huff* *Puff* *Cough* Revenge you all!"
...Confused...
"Oh yeah? Well... You aren't that smart either! ...Oh man, that was weak."
...and agonized...
"Muffy will save you! Muffy will save you! Muffy will save you!"
...but in the end...
...Wait...
-Recap-
"Let us stop for a moment. What in the series has happened so far?" Bertram asked.
"Well we started the show with eighteen contestants. In this eighteen episode journey... It's a journey man, a journey... I know, I think it's stupid that people call any random experience a journey too, but whatever, a lot has happened.
Episode One: This is where the teams got their start. Three Pokemon from each generation were sent here to Quarantine where they were thrown head first into the competition. We started off with three challenges. Here, team Artic-Uno proved their worth in both strength and speed. And one of the contestants, Percy, really teased his team mates AND the opponents, including both of the finalists, by sending them all into the mud pit.
Episode Two: The contestants had to find keys to their bunkers after they got locked out. It was Drenig's throwing arm and Stawolt's play on physics in motion that nabbed Team Zap-Dos the victory against Artic-Uno. Team Artic-Uno could not stand Jet's rampant ego, or Dylon's bickering. But in the end, Jet's back-uped ego saved him, and Dylon and his useless badgering were sent home.
Episode Three: Team Artic-Uno and Team Zap-Dos were sent deep into Quarantine grounds to find ingredients for Savil's potions. Grant made a rather epic move by saving Abigale from a giant water monster AND orchestrating a successful potion. ...All the while Pudge on Team Zap-Dos ruined their potion and ended up getting himself eliminated that day. ...And he never shut up for a SECOND!
Episode Four: The first of Dagger Eye's zombie generals appears. The contestants had to cook for the ghastly behemoth. Lilly's vegetarian lasagna wowed the critic, and Stawolt and Riley's dishes fell flat on their face. It was all agreed that Riley's lack of teamwork would prove detrimental to Team Zap-Dos, but ultimately Stawolt's clumsiness was his downfall. Stawolt was eliminated, and Riley got another chance.
Episode Five: The contestants were sent down into a dangerous cavern where they had to fight Medulla's brainwashed goons. Eventually both teams had to fight giant Hypno fighters. Dustin's L.A.R. P. ing skills proved useful in clearing the challenge. Meanwhile, the contestants found a suspicious picture in Abigale's grasp, planted by a certain someone who wanted revenge. Combined with being considered a weak member, Abigale was eliminated.
Episode Six: The two teams had to give their bunkers a makeover. Afterwards, Wren, Chauncey, Lilly and Jet had to traverse an obstacle course to bring blueprints back to their bunkers. Jet's so-called "athletics" proved empty in this challenge. Jet was destined for elimination until Yoshi the Bisharp forfeited the game after he shot a dodge ball at the two girls who liked him: Lilly and Muffy.
Episode Seven: Contestants trained to fight against Dagger Eyes army through the use of giant robots. Jet trained hard to learn the ropes, and immediately earned points for his team until Drenig shut him up. ...And then Lilly shut HIM up. ...And then Chauncey shut HER up. ...And finally Muffy shut HIM up. Chauncey proved himself to be a whiny brat who cared only about getting the dame, which earned him a trip down loser lane.
Episode Eight: The two teams infiltrated the hideout of another of Dagger Eye's henchmen. There, Aria had the key to winning the challenge. ...A Key that Riley refused to let her use. This let Artic-Uno come from behind and win the event. In the elimination, Riley spilled his guts out after realizing what he did. Needless to say, people felt sorry for him after he was rightfully eliminated.
Episode Nine: A certain someone who said they would do ANYTHING to stay in the game came back for revenge. Contestants were forced to tell their opinions, and were put in a maze to test their memory. Team Zap-Dos played it fair to win the competition, while Grant cheated his way to the end. Grant convinced Abigale's sister Ruce to become a dangerous threat to health. The team sent her home, but should have sent her home... in a straight-jacket.
Episode Ten: Team Artic-Uno and Zap-Dos were dissolved and formed a new Team Mol-Tres. Contestants worked in pairs to make it through the base of another of Dagger Eye's henchmen. Lilly and Aria refused to get along, leading to Aria's elimination. However, Lilly sacrificed herself to teach Aria a lesson. Lilly's efforts seemed to have paid off as Aria vowed to turn a new leaf.
Episode Eleven: Pudge took control of Quarantine for a second, and landed his rocket on Quarantine grounds. Team Mol-Tres had to go through an invisible maze to get to Pudge's Puzzle Palace. Up there, the one everyone DIDN'T want to win, Jet of course, took immunity. At elimination, the contestants decided the show didn't need L.A.R. P. er Dustin any longer, especially after he insulted Percy.
Episode Twelve: In this episode, Team Mol-Tres had to find a giant gas-emitting machine that plagued Quarantine. It was then they had to use jet packs in order to infiltrate the fog machine's base. Kiki and Drenig each reached the battery powering the fog machine at the same time, earning both of them 3D Dual Screens. Percy was also eliminated for breaking the rules and harming a contestant with his tail. ...Of course, who wouldn't want to harm Jet?
Episode Thirteen: Contestants had to search an ancient castle for a rare gem that would help them beat Dagger Eyes and his henchmen. Grant managed to trick Muffy into thinking Aria betrayed her, and managed to steal the gem in the process. Meanwhile, Kiki and Drenig's rivalry proved too much for the contestants to handle. However, Aria's supposed betrayal won over Drenig's rivalry, and she was eliminated.
Episode Fourteen: It was time to take the fight to Dagger Eye's henchmen, as they infiltrated Gola's base again in tanks. They managed to fight their way through dragon guards to fight Gola. But Gola took the chase to them. It was there that Grant tried to sacrifice himself. ...Or should I say trick Muffy into sacrificing HER-self. Grant was proving to be a dangerously evil contestant.
Episode Fifteen: The final five got a visit from their loved ones, who helped them build boats to infiltrate a barge Dagger Eyes was using to ship potions over sea. It was here that Wren's speed and passion for challenge powered over Jet's ego to win the challenge and make his parents proud. Meanwhile, who would FINALLY be sent home but the guy you just love to hate? I speak of course about Jet.
Episode Sixteen: The final four were tasked with finishing off Dagger Eye's supply of potions deep in the heart of the *ahem* underworld. Contestants each had to steal a super-virus and destroy Dagger Eye's factory in the process. Grant ended up taking a shortcut that lead him to victory. Elimination found a tie between Kiki and Wren. But in the end, Wren stood up to Grant, and Grant sent him home.
...AND NOW were we left off from before, Grant had forfeited the challenge, and Drenig was declared the overall winner. Drenig sent Grant home, and declared himself and his friend Kiki as the final two. Before today's episode, Kiki chose to enlist the help of Riley, Aria and Lilly to help her in today's event, while Drenig called upon Dustin, Wren, and Stawolt.
And now, it's finally time! The final battle between Team Kiki and Team Drenig. Who will emerge victorious among the two groups? Will it be Kiki or will it be Drenig? ...Or will it be... Dagger Eyes?
That's right, the final battle against Dagger Eyes, this very episode: the LAST episode of this season. ...that's assuming they'll renew my contract for another season. I mean come on, between contestants breaking the fourth wall, the failed flying challenge and the repetitive exploration and infiltration missions I'm not getting my hopes up, but whatever. Today is an important day, the final boss fight, the bad guy, the big cheese, the man behind the curtains that those should pay no attention to and all that jazz. IT'S THE FINAL EPISODE! THE FINAL BATTLE! This will be the best episode yet. Team Kiki! Team Drenig! Dagger Eyes! Who will prevail in the epic final clash? Stay tuned to the season finale of... QUARANTINE!
-Welcome Back-
-Confessional Session(Kiki)-
"I would just like to say thanks to my parents for all the years we spent in training," Kiki stated. "I may never have gotten where I am today if it wasn't for you. And now I am in the final two on Quarantine. It may be debatable if my years of Judo training actually helped me to this point, but still I thank you for all you've done. You've helped me a lot in life, and soon I will hopefully return the favor."
-Confessional Session(Drenig)-
"I just... I am at a loss for words," Drenig started. "I just never expected that I would get this far. I mean I wouldn't have come on if I didn't think I'd gain anything from my experience, but I'm still shocked I made it to the final two. I hope everyone at BigBoss motors is watching this. Cause if I win this, I don't know if I can contain myself around all my friends there."
-After Confessional-
Morning struck the Quarantine grounds, and the two teams were already making breakfast. Stawolt was taking in the sights with his friend Wren. They were currently inside the kitchen.
"Wow, things are so much different here than since I left," Stawolt said.
"There were lots of renovations since you were gone," Wren said. "But through the thick of it all, I was thinking of you the entire time."
"Look! There's a portrait of me!" Stawolt exclaimed, pointing to the portrait Chauncey painted of him.
"Yeah, Dustin and Chauncey were thinking of you when Dustin had Chauncey paint that," Wren mentioned. "They still valued you as a team member."
"I can't believe Drenig gave me another chance to be at Quarantine," Stawolt said.
Wren just realized something. The last time Stawolt was at Quarantine, Wren didn't get a chance to be friends with him. Now, Wren wanted to make things count, so he asked him about himself.
"Say, Stawolt?" Wren asked. "Where do you come from?"
"Duh, my home is in Mt. Deepgreen," he said.
"What friends did you have back home?" Wren asked.
"Duh... My best friend there is a Gliscor named Zippo," Stawolt said. "Would you like to meat Zippo?"
"After Quarantine is over?" Wren assumed. "Sure, I'd love to. Tell me more."
"What about you?" Stawolt asked. "Don't you have stories?"
"Who, me?" Wren asked. "Yeah, I live on Thunder Meadow, my best friend there is a Manectric named Azreal, and at Quarantine I've made quite a lot of friends. ...Like Aria, Kiki and Drenig."
Suddenly, Aria, Kiki and Drenig decided to greet Stawolt with a friendly smile. Dustin and Lilly joined along. Riley seemed... a bit nervous. Kiki noticed this and tried to coax him into the crowd.
"Oh come on Riley, you can come over," Kiki said.
"Oh, whatever," Riley said as he went over to the group and put a smile on his face.
"Hmmm, I don't think I ever met you," Lilly said. "My name is Lilly. I was on the old Team Artic-Uno. I think we met in the cooking competition, but I didn't pay much attention to you except for the part where you tossed the brownies onto the table. ...That probably wasn't nice to say."
"Say, anyone else notice that Lilly is the only Artic-Uno member here?" Aria asked. "That seems very... very odd."
"Come to think of it... it does seem odd," Lilly mentioned. "Was our team that unlikeable?"
"No, there were still some pretty decent people on team Artic-Uno," Kiki said. "Like that Purugly who kicked Jet's butt."
"I wouldn't mind meeting that furry character either?" Drenig mentioned.
"Abigale? She was actually pretty nice," Lilly said. "Well there was the time where..."
"Stop," Kiki said. "Grant planted that page there. He admitted to it yesterday.
"Oh... never mind," Lilly said. "Well at least there's no sign of Chauncey anywhere."
Stawolt walked up to Lilly and held his claw out. Even though she didn't say much, Stawolt wanted to be her friend. Stawolt seemed like the type who just liked being friends with people. ...Just like Wren. No wonder Wren liked him so much.
"Duh, hi Lilly," Stawolt said. "I'm Stawolt."
"Uhh... nice to meet you Stawolt," Lilly said.
"Wren tells me you guys are his friends," Stawolt said, looking at Kiki, Drenig and Aria.
"Yeah, Wren is one of the nicest guys I know," Kiki said.
"By the morrow, does thy kitchen suit your taste?" Dustin asked. "Thy helped orchestrate it."
"I love the portraits," Stawolt mentioned.
"Yes, thy brave Chauncey created those portraits," Dustin said.
"Wait... really?" Lilly asked.
"It's true, he's actually a pretty good painter," Riley mentioned. "I wouldn't be surprised if he hid a portrait of you behind one of them though."
"By the way Lilly," Drenig started. "I've been sticking to that pescitarian diet."
"That's cool," Lilly stated. "Though I never did ask you to change your diet."
"I know," Drenig responded. "I changed on my own accord."
"Speaking of which, I bet you are going to love my vegetarian spinach quiche I'm making for breakfast," Aria said. "Cheese substitute, free of lactose and animal products like rennet."
"You didn't need to do that either," Lilly said. "But thanks for thinking of me."
"That's what I like about you Aria," Wren said. "You're not perfect, but you try. ...I'm sorry for voting you off by the way. I should have known Grant was lying about you."
"I suppose it wasn't entirely your fault," Aria stated.
"I wonder when the challenge is," Riley asked. "I'd really like a chance to work as a team."
"After breakfast I can only assume," Kiki mentioned.
Eventually breakfast was made and served. Everyone got a slice of Aria's quiche and were sitting down and talking about themselves. Drenig was currently talking about the guys he worked with.
"Okay, so there's five guys who work at BigBoss motors," Drenig started. "There's me, our friend Richter the Excadrill, Rodney the Donphan, Chris the Magnezone, and Betty the Kangaskhan."
"Thy brave Richter often joins our fight," Dustin mentioned.
"Umm... can I have a go next?" Riley asked.
"Ay man, go ahead," Drenig said in a friendly tone.
"Growing up as an aspie was never easy," Riley started. "I could never get along with people, no matter how hard I tried. Eventually it got to the point where I cut myself off from every other Pokemon."
"Duh, if you don't like being around others, why did you come here?" Stawolt asked.
"Could you please not start every sentence with "duh" Stawolt?" Riley asked.
"Sorry, I didn't know it was a problem," Stawolt apologized.
"I came here for myself," Riley said. "I didn't come here to make friends, but my discomfort around others made it harder for me to function. At home I had a hard time finding people who were even remotely likeable. ...And then I met you Kiki. You're strong, assertive... things I kind of wish I was."
"Wow... That... means a lot from you," Kiki said. "I came here for similar reasons that Drenig came here: to help my best friends keep their business alive."
"In my case it's the mechanics shop I work at," Drenig said. "In Kiki's case it's her Judo Dojo."
"I kind of came here to help my friends too," Dustin said. "Well, actually I planned on giving most of my money away. It's victory that I really wanted. Who needs video games when you got an active imagination."
"Wow, lots of people wanted to help their companies," Aria said. "I for one wanted to help my choir group."
"I for one work at a library," Lilly said. "But deep down, I did want to start my own vegan food business. Even though I won't win the grand prize, this show will still be good for my reputation as a chef."
"I came here for just about the same reason as most came," Wren said. "To help my friends and family. ...Well, I did want a new skateboard too. ...What about you Stawolt? Why are you here?"
"I... Well..." Stawolt stuttered for a moment. "I guess I just wanted to make friends, but winning would have been nice too."
"You didn't have a motive?" Riley asked.
"Well... no, not really," Stawolt said.
"Why are you here then?" Riley asked.
"Why, does he have no right to be here?" Kiki asked.
"Well... that's not what I meant," Riley said. "I just find it odd that he came here without a motive."
"Well you kind of came here without a real motive too," Wren stated.
"...Am I the only one that actually came here for the prize myself?" Riley asked.
"Yes!" everyone else blurted in unison.
"...I guess I've not made many friends to know what it feels like to have people on my side," Riley said.
"...There's still a chance," Kiki said. "Don't give up."
"Well, that's why you gave me that chance, was you believed I could change," Riley said. "I will do the best I can then."
"By the way, how's that quiche I made?" Aria asked.
"It's a little salty, but other then that it's good," Lilly stated. "There's... no cheese in it."
"No, I used a substitute," Aria said.
"It's nice but... I have nothing against eating cheese," Lilly said. "I'm not a vegan, I'm just a vegetarian."
"What's the difference?" Aria asked.
"Vegans seclude themselves from ALL primitive products," Lilly mentioned. "Vegetarians just exclude the animals themselves from their diet. ...Still, cheese does use rennet which technically is animal. Hmmm... maybe I should seclude that from my diet."
After the contestants have finished their quiche, Bertram finally showed up on the screen. He seemed super frantic.
"Guys, I have terrible news," Bertram said. "You know Dagger Eyes? The one who vanquished himself yesterday? Well... not really! Dagger Eyes is BACK!"
There was a short pause from the commotion. None of Team Mol-Tres seemed surprised.
"Oh no, the horror, he has come to cleanse this world," Aria said sarcastically. "Whatever shall we do?"
"You don't understand, squid-face!" Bertram shouted. "He's back, and who knows what he could be doing right now!"
"...Duh, who's Dagger Eyes?" Stawolt blurted out.
"You mean you don't remember?" Riley asked. "And what did I say about starting sentences with "duh?"
"Uhh, Riley, he was eliminated before we first actually heard the name Dagger Eyes," Kiki reminded.
"Stawolt, Dagger Eyes is a terrible monster," Bertram said. "He's tried many times to take over Quarantine, but all those plans have failed. But every time he gets more and more crafty no matter how bad the situation gets! And now he.. ..obab.. ...ng to b. ...ink... .f . ..w pl.."
Bertram breaking up was something the contestants did not see for a while, but suddenly someone else appeared on the screen. A big angry pair of piercing red eyes that looked positively furious right now.
"You didn't know who he was?" Wren asked Stawolt. "NOW you know. Look on the screen."
"Alright, no more mister angry Dagger Eyes," he started. "Say hello to PSYCHOTICALLY INFURIATED DAGGER EYES!"
"Ooh, shaking in my rattled pearl necklace," Aria stated.
"Yeah, we're not afraid of you," Lilly said.
"Oh you will be," Dagger Eyes stated. "I have one last trick up my proverbial sleeves! My latest plan is the most devious, clever, and UNSTOPPABLE plan yet. And do you know what makes it so unstoppable? Hmm?"
"Enough talk, thy fiend!" Dustin yelled. "Thou shall fall for good today!"
"...So no one knows, very well then," Dagger Eyes started. "It's unstoppable because this time, I am NOT going to tell you what the plan is. And you can't stop a plan you know nothing about."
"We know there's a plan period," Lilly stated. "We just have to go from there. And besides, I'm sure Bertram knows."
"Oh, he doesn't," Dagger Eyes said. "You see, I had the remaining Super Hypno-bots DESTROY the base and all of its cameras. But, I had them fix this one just for now."
"So, the place is still voice-bugged," Drenig stated.
"That's why I kept the plan to myself," Dagger Eyes said. "So good luck trying to stop me this time, because it won't happen. After all, you cannot read minds."
"I could if it was allowed in the rules," Aria said.
"So could I," Lilly stated.
"Well it doesn't matter because you don't have long to live anymore," Dagger Eyes said. "Soon after two hours, ten bombs will blow up the entire island if you don't..."
Dagger Eyes widened his eyes at that comment. It was obvious he said something he didn't want to say.
"A bomb you say? Wren asked.
"Hey, I thought you weren't telling us the plan," Aria stated.
"Alright, so that tidbit slipped my lips!" Dagger Eyes shouted. "But I will NOT tell you where those bombs are OR how to deactivate them. Those things you will figure out for yourself."
"If you're going to blow up the island, then what about you?" Riley asked.
"I'm safe where I reside," Dagger Eyes stated. "You will all perish and I will still be here. How does that sound."
"Sounds like it's not going to happen!" Wren shouted. "We can beat you, right guys?"
"Yeah, I aint afraid of you," Stawolt said.
"For lord Drenig!" Dustin shouted.
"Thanks guys, I knew I'd chosen right with you three," Drenig said.
"I think not," Kiki said. "My team will destroy Dagger Eyes first.
"I don't see any reason to worry," Aria said. "Lilly, Riley and Kiki had far better abilities than anyone on Drenig's team. Of course I'm useful too."
"Thanks for the compliment," Riley said. "I don't see any reason to feat them either."
"Well, Wren is fast, Stawolt's strong, Drenig's smart and has a good throwing arm, and Dustin knows how to swing a sword," Lilly said.
"I think we can still take them," Riley said.
"For team Kiki!" Aria proclaimed.
"Good luck guys," Dagger Eyes said. "And remember, you will need all the luck you can get."
With that last comment, Dagger Eyes logged off. This left the two teams to wonder what to do next.
-It's The Final Countdown-
The contestants were waiting for Bertram to come back onto the screen. Obviously they knew nothing bad would truly happen, but still, they only had two hours.
"Well... I can only assume that the bombs are somewhere in the underground," Wren stated. "That's where the bombs would do the most damage."
"That's a good point Wren," Drenig stated.
"Under-what now?" Riley asked.
"Oh, the secret underground world of Dagger Eye's," Kiki mentioned. "Though technically you have been there, haven't you Riley?"
"It was the cave we were cooped up in that one time when Dagger Eyes put us to sleep and transferred us to bunkers in his secret lair, correct?" Lilly asked.
"Yes, I do believe so," Kiki responded.
"...So where's Bertram?" Aria asked.
Eventually, he DID appear on the screen. He still seemed rattled about Dagger Eye's appearance.
"Bombs!? Dagger Eye's planted BOMBS in Quarantine!" Bertram shouted.
"We know!" Aria shouted.
"Sarcastic as ever," Bertram said. "Ugh, why did Kiki bring you back?"
"It was my idea," Riley stated.
"Huh? Wait, I thought you hated her," Dustin stated.
"Dustin, you were there when he said that, you should know what his motives were," Aria said.
"No, Aria," Kiki said. "Dustin was a zombie at the time."
"Yeah Aria," Lilly added. "Dustin couldn't comprehend normal language there."
Lilly and Kiki then jabbed Aria in the hip. They were trying to tell her "Play along with the script of the show. Just cause it's fake doesn't mean you have to treat it as such."
"OH, of course. My bad," Aria said.
"Wait, I heard his reasons too," Stawolt said.
"Stawolt, you weren't supposed to hear anything as a zombie," Wren mentioned.
"Despite the fact Lilly could talk and whatnot as a zombie," Aria said. "Not to mention all the other zombies who could talk inexplicably. Does Bertram even check the plot-holes in his show?"
"Shut up Aria!" Riley shouted.
"Now now, can we break things up?" Kiki asked.
"You're right," Riley started. "I guess I got a little angry."
"That's okay, someone had to say it," Kiki said.
"EXCUSE ME!" Bertram shouted. "I'm hosting the show here."
"Sorry. Soooorry," Aria apologized.
"So anyway, Dagger Eyes isn't telling us where these bombs are," Bertram stated. "But do not worry, we know one thing is sure: they are in the underworld somewhere."
"The UNDERWORLD!?" Riley shouted.
"Is thou crazy!?" Dustin shouted.
"The world underground," Drenig blurted out. "Don't question his decision to call it that."
"Unfortunately, Dagger Eyes has put a REAL boulder in front of our secret entrance, so we will have to go through the arena where we fought Colt and Crusher."
"Does anyone even remember where that is?" Lilly asked.
"How could I forget?" Dustin asked. "I kicked butt there."
"Yeah, sorry, not an old Zap-Dos member, not a fond memory," Lilly said.
"But I wonder how we will diffuse the bombs," Wren said.
"Ooh, I bet it's a reference to a previous episode, right?" Drenig said.
"If I knew, I'd tell you," Bertram said. "But I don't so now you have to find the Arena entrances and re-enter Dagger Eyes territory. Remember, only one team per entrance."
"ONWARD TO VICTORY!" Dustin shouted.
"That's the spirit, crazy eyes," Bertram said, somewhat pleased by Dustin's enthusiasm. "Of course I need to set some rules: There are ten bombs down there: five for each team. The first team to get all five bombs will earn an advantage against Dagger Eyes. So... whenever you are ready, venture fourth into the Quarantine peninsula and find that arena. Good luck, Quarantine is counting on you."
"Right, we will not let you down," Kiki said as she got up.
Kiki, Lilly, Aria and Riley started for the door. Eventually Drenig, Dustin, Wren and Stawolt got up as well. Drenig and Kiki met up near the door, and Drenig wanted to give a wish to Kiki.
"So... here we are Kiki... Final two," Drenig said nervously.
"Yeah... I didn't think we'd both be here," Kiki said.
"Especially after all the times I almost got kicked off," Drenig said. "I... almost kind of owe it to Grant for saving my butt back in Gola's factory."
"Heh, you're kind of right," Kiki stated. "Grant DID kind of save you there. ...I still don't get his logic there."
"I... I guess sometimes we all have moments we don't think straight," Drenig said.
The two then stopped and looked at each others eyes. Drenig noticed Kiki's large, fiery red eyes and couldn't help but feel somewhat captivated. Kiki saw Drenig's small beady black eyes and couldn't help but think "Maybe the pattern around his eyes is actually kind of cool." They both just stared at each other. ...until...
"Come on Kiki, we have a game to win," Riley blurted out.
"Oh, right," Kiki said.
Eventually both Kiki and Drenig started to giggle. Afterward, Drenig got on with the program.
"Anyway, good luck Kiki," Drenig said.
"May the better Pokemon win," Kiki responded.
So the two teams head out to search for the big arena they escaped from in the fifth episode. They had to walk quite a long ways to reach it. They kept their eyes peeled for other things that Dagger Eye's might surprise them with. Both teams were walking together for now.
"I still cannot believe the power Grant had over that Muffy chick," Wren said. "Are you sure he wasn't using mind control?"
"Don't be silly Wren," Aria said. "Grumpigs don't use mind control, they use a hypnotic dance to control opponents."
"You mean Teeter Dance?" Stawolt asked.
"No, Grumpigs don't know Teeter Dance," Aria said.
"Just like Drowzee's can't learn Dream Eater outside TMs," Lilly said. "...Apparently Drowzee's are also compatible with Bisharps, but Bisharps aren't compatible with Gardevoir. Isn't life strange?"
"Yeah, I can't help but wonder about life's strange sense of humor," Dustin said. "We Watchog are supposed to be lookouts who can see without being seen. ...Yet watch what I'm doing right now."
Everyone looked at Dustin. ...As long as they looked, they saw nothing unusual.
"Uhh... you're not doing anything," Riley mentioned.
"Look inside my armor," Dustin said.
"Maybe I just put it out there that Watchog's glow," Drenig said. "But don't feel too bad, that just means you can be a beacon so that your friends can see you. And can't you turn off?"
"No, we're fluorescent creatures," Dustin mentioned. "We can't just shut off. We take in sunlight and that solar energy charges our body up to glow until it runs out."
"Wow, that sounds... pretty useless," Stawolt mentioned.
"Especially since other common rodents get cool abilities," Dustin said. "Look at Bertram. He's a very moody creature. I also envy those Huge Power Diggersbys."
"I'm sure that eye sight of yours at least should come in handy in helping us find the stadium though," Lilly mentioned.
"Of course, it's right over there," Dustin mentioned.
"Where? I don't see anything," Stawolt mentioned.
"We're almost there," Dustin mentioned. "Thy shall press onward."
Eventually, the two teams saw and reached the coliseum. That's where there were ground rules lied out.
"Okay team, get your last look at Team Drenig for now," Kiki said. "Once we enter the coliseum, we're each on our own."
"Ay know we're all friends and all man," Drenig started. "But remember, there's two-thousand in it for everyone on the winning team."
"Well I already have two-thousand," Lilly mentioned.
"We have the chance to turn that into four-thousand," Kiki said.
"Well, technically everyone else still gets two," Wren said.
"Well it doesn't really matter," Drenig said. "But anyway, good luck Team Kiki."
"Good luck Team Drenig," Kiki said.
Eventually the two teams went inside the two arenas. This was where the challenge really started. When both teams entered the arena, Team Kiki couldn't help but wonder something about Drenig.
"I... I can't help but ask this, not that Drenig isn't here," Riley started. "But I really have to wonder... what kind of people name their kid "Drenig." Is that even a name?"
"It's not a very common name, that's for true," Lilly stated. "But it is actually a name. ...I think."
Just then, each of the contestants saw Bertram on the big screen. He seemed to want to say something.
"Oh, I guess I there wasn't a boulder in front of the secret entrance," Bertram stated. "I just wasn't pushing hard enough."
"So we came all the way here for nothing?" Riley asked.
"Oh please, it's important to the script I'm assuming," Aria mentioned.
"But... since you're already there, you might as well press on," Bertram said.
"Yeah, might as well," Kiki said to the group.
Eventually, Team Drenig made it to the fork near the prison. The path to the prison was to their left, and a door was to their right.
"So... we go that way, right?" Stawolt asked.
"That just leads to the prison," Dustin said. "We have to use the door."
Wren waddled up to the door and tried to open it. It was a large double-door set. ...They were both locked.
"They won't open," Wren said. "What do we do now?"
"Allow me," Stawolt said. "You might want to stand back a bit."
Stawolt stepped back in the hall. He got a running start before he rushed into the door. The doors broke apart as Stawolt tumbled through.
"Tah-dah!" Stawolt proclaimed.
"Awright man!" Drenig proclaimed. "I knew there was another reason I enlisted you onto the team."
As team Drenig went through the door, team Kiki got to the locked door. Kiki knew exactly what to do.
"You guys might want to brace yourselves," Kiki suggested.
Eventually, Kiki sent a flurry of fists and talons into the door. With every hit she dented the door. Eventually the door had all it could take and broke apart.
"Not bad, huh?" Kiki asked.
"Wait, I thought you didn't know karate," Aria mentioned.
"Just because I trained my fists and feet to break boards and hard objects doesn't mean I know karate," Kiki stated. "...Very well anyway.
As team Kiki went down the doorway, Bertram appeared on a screen above the way down to the prison. He seemed kind of displeased.
"How cute," he said. "Neither of you teams even saw the battering rams on the wall."
But as they were going through the hall from their doorways, they were being watched. Dagger Eyes himself was trying to ensure that they did not find the bombs.
"So... they think it will be that easy?" Dagger Eyes said to himself. "I'll show them just how easy it can be. Medulla!"
Suddenly, Medulla appeared in Dagger Eyes room, except he looked... hideous. Medulla was trapped inside a bulky eight-legged stomp mech with his legs fully encased in the machine. is arms were stretched upward into some strange round spheres. Attached to those spheres were two long mechanical arms. Metal strapped his body and arms to a large eight-point cross behind him, and his head was strapped to the cross as well, with an ugly red mechanical eye on his left.
"You see, THAT is what happens when you fail me," Dagger Eyes stated. "How's your new body? Comfy?"
"It hurts!" Medulla moaned.
"Well YOU tried to run away," Dagger Eyes stated. "But now you are my slave for life! How are the new Super Hypno-bots Medulla?"
"It hurts!" Medulla shouted.
"Oh, I forgot to turn your robot brain on," Dagger Eyes said. After a pause, Medulla's head stood up.
"Affirmative lord Dagger Eyes," Medulla said. "The new robots will be released as planned."
"And the bombs?" Dagger Eyes asked.
"Hidden and none of them know where they are or how to deactivate them," Medulla said.
"But WE know, right?" Dagger Eyes asked.
"Affirmative," Medulla stated.
"Affirmative indeed," Dagger Eyes responded. "Now... assemble the robots."
"All robots must now roam the halls in search for the Quarantine scum," Medulla called out.
And then, darkness filled the screen. Darkness faded as a purple light shone through the darkness. Eventually you could see a golden metal Hypno head. Then you could see more purple lights and more Hypno heads. Eventually the zoomed out and you could see the mechs. However, none of them seemed finished, as they each had armor missing from their body: some from the side of their heads, some from their shoulder, some from there hips, and so on. Regardless, they still seemed dangerous as they marched out of a large room and down the halls of the Underworld. There was quite a lot of them, but they at least seemed beatable. Still, it was apparent the contestants would be kept busy.
"Exteeeeeerminate!" the robots proclaimed as they marched along. "Exteeeeeerminate!"
Meanwhile, Drenig and his team were roaming the halls of the underworld. They were looking around the underground area and eventually came across a huge familiar ravine. It was where they diffused a bomb in the fifth episode, except instead of the broken rocky cliffs, it was all patched with metal. To make things more weird, there was a long crosswalk to a strange cave area, lined with pillars of rock.
"What did they do to this beautiful cave?" Stawolt asked. "What is with all the metal?"
"Dagger Eyes turned this into his own little world," Wren said.
"Hmph, perfectly good waste of metal," Dustin stated. "It would have been better off as a cool battleaxe or some armor."
Eventually the teams started walking down the pathway to the cave. When Wren was walking down it, he noticed something.
"Huh, there's a black three on the catwalk," Wren mentioned.
"Hmmm, that's probably important for something," Drenig stated. "Let's keep that in mind. Come on guys."
As Drenig's team walked down their catwalk, Kiki's team walked down theirs. Eventually both teams reached the cavern/ And inside the cavern, what do you know, a big box with four levers on it. It was also beeping.
"So, this must be the bomb," Kiki said.
"No, ya think?" Aria asked.
"Listen, I didn't ask you to be on my team so you could spout endless sarcasm," Kiki said. "I wanted you on my team cause you said you wanted to work with Lilly."
"Hmph, to the point I see," Aria said. "Very well, you're right."
"By the way, why did you pick me?" Lilly asked.
"Yeah, why not Muffy?" Kiki asked.
"I... I tried to be Muffy's friend, but she refused to do so," Aria stated. "I felt like I had a better chance of befriending Lilly because she's more understanding."
"Aww, that means quite a bit from you," Lilly said.
"But enough chat, you and I have a challenge to win," Aria told Lilly with a smile.
Eventually the group examined the bomb. Riley noticed something strange.
"Huh, each lever has a color," Riley said. "Can't tell what that means."
"Probably nothing," Kiki said. "Okay guys, we just have to each push a lever down."
Kiki went to the first lever with the red color ad pushed her switch down. Riley then pushed his lever down with the color blue. Lilly and Aria got behind the bomb and Lilly pushed the third lever with the color yellow, while Aria pushed her lever with the color black. ...But nothing happened. The beeping refused to cease.
"...Did we deactivate it?" Aria asked.
"No, it doesn't seem like it," Lilly said. "Maybe there's a certain pattern. Why don't we look around for clues?"
"Good idea Lilly," Kiki said.
Before the other team searched around, Team Drenig did the same thing with the bomb. Drenig at red, Wren at blue, Dustin at yellow, and Stawolt at black.
"It's still beeping," Stawolt said.
"Hmmm, that is odd," Wren said.
"Wait... the number," Drenig blurted out. "The black three, maybe it's part of a sequence."
"Maybe that one has to be pushed in third," Dustin said. "So we just have to find numbers that match the colors."
Both teams were on the hunt for needed colors. Right coming out of the cave, Aria noticed a number right near the top of the cave across the other catwalk.
"There's a red two over there!" Aria shouted.
"And look, a blue four down there," Riley said, looking down the ravine to see a cliff side with a blue four painted on it, right below where they all diffused the original bomb.
"On the catwalk, I see a yellow one," Lilly mentioned.
"Hmmm, by process of elimination, the black one must be pushed third," Kiki mentioned. "Come on guys, let's go!"
But Drenig's team was right behind them. Dustin immediately spotted the four.
"Blue four down the ravine," Dustin mentioned. "Pretty easy to spot."
"And up there's the red two," Wren mentioned.
"Hmmm," Drenig thought. "Blue four, red two, black three. We got our order!"
"Alright, let's go!" Wren blurted out. "We gotta stop the bomb!"
Drenig's team was a bit further along, but Kiki's team was not far behind. That's when they put the plan in motion. They all pulled the levers up and then pushed them in the order they anticipated: yellow, red, black, blue. ...Just like that, the bombs stopped beeping.
"Did... did we do it?" Stawolt asked his friends.
"I think so," Wren replied. "The bombs are diffused."
"Huh, that wasn't too hard," Kiki stated.
"At this rate, Dagger Eyes is history," Riley said.
But suddenly, they heard something to rattle their confidence. Dagger Eyes was speaking over the loudspeaker again.
"Welcome to my layer dumb-dumbs!" Dagger Eyes proclaimed. "I see you deactivated the first two bombs. There's more where that came from. Including my army of SUPER HYPNO BOTS!"
"You're so called army must be pretty small," Kiki commented.
"Not so," Dagger Eyes replied. "You see, I had Medulla make more."
"Wait, Medulla's still alive?" Drenig asked.
"He is, and he is now my puppet," Dagger Eyes. "He's not like that old worthless Medulla. He is a fresh new obedient Medulla and he does everything I say. And so I said "Build more robots," and done. Anyway, good luck guys. You'll need it. Mwahaha, and then some!"
After the message was up, the contestants had a bit to think about. Maybe Dagger Eyes was tougher than they thought he'd be.
"Don't worry guys," Aria said. "We're in this together."
-Ante Up-
The contestants exited their areas and started to go down separate halls. The race was neck and neck so far. Still, Drenig couldn't help but feel he had his work cut out for him right now.
"I couldn't have asked for a better match-up," Drenig said."Lilly's a very smart girl, and Kiki's very strong. Riley and Aria... To be honest... I've never seen what they are capable. I know Riley has talents some where, and Aria's going to be hard to get a hold of. I mean, she may be bigger than most Malamar, but she's still a Malamar."
"Maybe we should keep our ears out for more bombs," Wren suggested. "You never know where we could find another."
"Well, maybe," Drenig stopped. "We should also be on the look out for colored numbers."
"Wait... do you hear that?" Dustin asked.
"Is it another bomb?" Stawolt asked.
"No, I don't think so," Dustin said. "It's the... Thy enemy is approaching!"
"Quick, we have to hide," Wren said.
The contestants found their ways behind a bunch of boulders in the hallway. Soon, the halls were filling with Super Hypno-bots going every which way. And unfortunately a few were going down the hallway that Team Drenig was hiding in. Eventually, Drenig was caught.
"Enemy spotted!" one of the Hypno-bots shouted.
"Dang... I aint good at hiding," Drenig said.
"Initialize attack mode!" the Hypno-bot shouted. "Exteeeeeerminate!"
"No!" Stawolt shouted as he charged into the Super Hypno-bot. Stawolt swung his arms around and started to knock the Hypno-bots about. Being a Golem had its pluses right about now.
"Wow, you're pretty strong Stawolt," Wren said.
"Duh, thanks," Stawolt said. "I think it might come with being OW!"
But as Stawolt was distracted, a Super Hypno-bot struck him in the knee. Stawolt was not expecting actual pain.
"Ow, that hurt!" Stawolt cried.
"Wait, they're actually going to hurt us?" Drenig shouted.
"I'm assuming they're not going to hurt us that badly," Wren stated.
"Maybe we can throw rocks to help out Stawolt," Dustin said. "Look, part of their armor is exposed."
"Hey, I'm supposed to be the smart guy of the group," Drenig said playfully. "Just kidding, you guys can be smart all you want."
There was just one problem with Dustin's strategy. The problem was that Dustin and Wren are both lousy shots. Drenig was knocking out a couple, but not all that fast. Even Drenig couldn't hit every single time. Still, Drenig's throwing coupled with Stawolt's overall strength were helping them.
"I... I think it's working," Wren stated.
Meanwhile, over on the other side of the cavern, Team Kiki wasn't wasting time. Team Kiki was roaming the halls, keeping their eyes and ears on the lookout for bombs. ...And of course the Hypno-bots.
"They'll probably come this way," Kiki said. "Any ideas on how to take them out?"
"Well, we could trip them with my necklace," Aria said. "Since I wear an XL length necklace, it should be long enough."
"But Aria, isn't that a family heirloom?" Lilly asked.
"No, they're cheap plastic beads," Aria responded. "You think I could afford a real pearl necklace?"
"But if it's a cheap brand, then it's not going to be a strong enough snare," Lilly mentioned.
"I don't know about you guys, but I'd rather kick butt," Riley said.
"Let's wait until we actually need to," Kiki said.
Eventually, the Super Hypno-Bots did come their way. Everyone had a plan initialized.
"Okay guys," Lilly stated. "If we're really going to fight, we have to strike the weak points."
"Hmph, good thing I have hard feet then!" Kiki said she jumped out in front of the coming Hypno-bots and stared them down. "You want a piece of this?"
Riley, Aria and Lilly went behind Kiki as Kiki got into a fighting pose. The first robot that came at her had a defunct leg. Kiki immediately kicked the exposed leg, then threw the robot to the ground where she proceeded to crack the leg apart with a Judo leg-lock. After she tore the leg, she handed it to Lilly.
"Here, you might need this," Kiki said.
"What, you want me to swing this at them?" Lilly asked.
"No Lilly, I want you to hit yourself in the head multiple times with it," Kiki said sarcastically.
"See, now you're buying what I'm selling," Aria said.
Eventually, Riley went forward to confront the robots. The Super Hypno-bot he was fighting had an exposed head. First, the Hypno-bot swung his arm at Riley. Riley ducked under the arm then punched the side of the robot's head, knocking him out.
Lilly was doing an okay job by herself to. She was sleek and slim and able to dodge a few attacks sent at her, while using the Hypno-bot leg as a weapon to strike the exposed parts. One Hypno-bot did get a direct shot at her legs, knocking Lilly down, but Lilly managed to recover and swing the arm around.
Even Aria wanted to prove she wasn't useless. Aria went up to a bot, flailing her tentacles about. Eventually, a Hypno-bot wrapped it's arms around Aria's waste. Aria quickly pushed off it's arms and slipped right out the robot's grasp. Shen then did an tentacle stand on her arms before falling backwards into the Hypno bot. With the Hypno-bot stunned, she struck the weak point, knocking that one out two.
"Who says I can't fight?" Aria asked rhetorically.
Eventually, all the robots in Team Kiki's hallway were knocked out, and they were on their way to finding the next bomb, while Team Drenig still had a few bots left to go.
"Alright, good job guys," Kiki said. Just then, Kiki hears something in the background. "Wait... is that what I think it is?"
"The second bomb, it's close," Lilly stated.
Close to a minute later, Drenig's team came across the bomb too. This time the levers were labeled pink, orange, green and brown. This time the bomb was found in the middle of a small cave in the hallway.
"I suppose the numbers we're looking for should all be out in the hallway somewhere," Drenig mentioned.
"There's one right below the bomb," Dustin mentioned. "It's an orange four."
"Duh, okay, now we just have to find the other numbers," Stawolt mentioned. "Duh, how hard can that be."
Wren walked around the corner and noticed there was a large boulder. He could just make out some faint brown paint.
"Can you lift this Stawolt?" Wren asked.
Stawolt came over to the boulder where Wren was. He then meshed his fingers together and gave them all a nice cracking.
"Just watch, Wren," Stawolt proclaimed. He then proceeded to push the boulder little by little. Eventually, they saw that there was a brown three under the boulder.
"Alright, number three found!" Wren said.
Meanwhile, the other team thought of a different way to go about it. They had already got the orange four, and while hugging around a corner of one of the hallways, she noticed the wall had a crack. She saw there was a huge chunk she could take out. When she did, she saw the pink one in the cracks. She then had an idea and went to find her group.
"Say, how many numbers do we need?" Aria asked.
"Hmph, how many will save us time?" Riley asked.
"Exactly, I think we can work off of two numbers," Aria said. "We push two levers in the order we know, and then push the other two in the remaining sequence positions. If we're wrong, we only need to try once more, since that will tell us our answer, and there's no penalty for getting it wrong."
"Huh, that's actually kind of clever," Riley said.
"Okay, we have an orange four and a pink one," Aria said. "So it's Pink, blank, blank, orange."
Eventually everyone went to the switch. They pushed the pink first. Naturally, the pushed in the green one, then the brown because the green color was before the brown one, making it a more obvious first choice. Finally, they finished with the orange one. Success! The bomb shut off.
"See? Easy enough," Aria said.
Meanwhile, Drenig's team was still looking for a third number. Dustin came across a sanded area that seemed suspicious enough. Dustin wiped his boot across the sand, and a green two was visible.
"That's the third number!" Dustin blurted out.
Suddenly, they could hear something on the intercom. It wasn't Dagger Eyes, it was Bertram.
"Good job subjects," Bertram's voice greeted. "I managed to hijack Dagger Eyes intercom. Anyway, I notice on the floating cameras I sent out to track you that you've already diffused three bombs."
"Huh?" Drenig proclaimed. "Uh oh guys, I think they're ahead."
"Don't worry, we can catch up," Dustin said as he got to where everyone else was. Eventually they all got to the bomb and pushed the levers in the correct order. With that, they were on their way.
"It's still anyone's game guys," Bertram called out.
As the two teams were racing down the halls, they eventually came to forking hallways. One lead into a brightly lit factory room, the other into a non-lit dark cavern.
"Okay, so... which one should we go down?" Wren asked.
"If I may," Dustin said, noting that he was willing to light the way with his illuminescents.
"Dustin, that's kind of cheating," Drenig stated.
"Well my eye's are already going to light up," Dustin stated. "Not much I can really do to conceal the light in my eyes. My tail's not covered either."
"Then we have no way around it," Wren said.
"Maybe we should keep you in the back so we're not taking advantage of you," Drenig suggested.
"Well if I'm right there's torches in there anyway," Dustin stated. "We have all the light we will need coming from those torches. With that in mind, ONWARD!"
"Onward!" Stawolt cheered.
Meanwhile, Kiki's team got to the fork first. They were considering which path to go down.
"I think they might both have a bomb in them," Lilly stated.
"Let's go down the dark corridor," Riley suggested. "I can use my tail to..."
"That's cheating!" the other three members of Team Kiki exclaimed in unison.
"Oh... I thought by now we'd remember we're not allowed to use our powers," Riley stated. "How easy we forget."
"Why don't we go down the other path then," Aria mentioned.
"Yeah, that will give me more time to resist the temptation to light my tail," Riley said.
Back with Team Drenig, they were walking through the darkness. Eventually they were headed for the torch Dustin saw.
"I think it would be wise if someone carried the torch," Dustin said.
"Duh, I can do that," Stawolt said.
"No!" Drenig blurted out. "Uhh, I mean... wouldn't you rather do something fun like sing a song to the group?"
"Thou art insane," Dustin said.
"Guys, I think Stawolt can carry a torch," Wren stated.
"Daw, thanks Wren," Stawolt said as he grabbed the torch.
Not even a few steps later, Stawolt tripped and dropped the torch. The flame was put out.
"I messed up again," Stawolt cried.
"Don't feel too bad," Wren said. "There's other torches."
"Wow Wren, you never get mad, do you?" Stawolt asked.
"Actually yes," Wren said. "I still remember that horrible Vower character. He was just beyond reasoning."
"Wait, can we cut the chatter, man?" Drenig asked. "I hear another bomb. Let's keep walking."
When looking around the area, Dustin found another torch. This one, however, seemed different. There was black tape around it and a white three written on it.
"Guys, another clue!" Dustin called out. "And look ahead!"
Dustin could make out another number in the distance. As he walked down a corridor, he saw a navy blue one.
"Navy blue first, white third!" Dustin called out.
"Duh, I found a banner!" Stawolt called out. "There's a purple four on it!"
"Confirmed!" Wren called out. "It's definitely purple."
"Okay guys, but... where's the bomb?" Drenig called out.
"Thou hears ticking, but thy not see the source," Dustin said as he rounded a corner in the dark corridors. It was there he saw a stone wall with a few fallen stones. "Thy has found a secret passage!"
The other contestants followed Dustin's voice to his location. Dustin went up to the wall to knock it over. The wall crumbled with just a slight touch. As it did, the bomb was visible and as Dustin shone the torch on it, the colors purple, forest green, navy blue, and white were visible. Th contestants immediately went to the switches and pushed navy blue, forest green, white and purple in that order. With that, another bomb diffused.
After diffusing their third bomb, they were off to the next area. Still, they were fascinated with the challenge at hand.
"Ay think Dagger Eyes made a bad idea by putting all those numbers about," Drenig said.
"Well you have to take in account that maybe he was worried his henchmen would forget how to deactivate the bombs if they needed to," Wren said.
"But why would they need to?" Drenig asked.
"Well... uhh..." Wren stuttered for a moment.
"Because Dagger Eyes might have had second thoughts?" Stawolt asked.
"That could work, right?" Wren asked.
"...Thy has a feeling one would not cause such chaos less ye be sure they want to," Dustin replied.
"Literally, there is no explanation for it that doesn't break the fourth wall again," Drenig stated.
Back with Team Kiki, they were brought to a strange room lit with a bright pink light. There was a large conveyor belt taking up most of the room, and the conveyor was covered in a metal hood. On top of the hood was the bomb. Fortunately there was a ladder leading up to the hood.
"Oh dear, that ladder is going to complicate things greatly," Aria said. "...For the other team of course."
"I'll bet it will take weeks for that Stawolt character to climb the ladder," Riley said. "And I doubt the others will have an easy time either."
"What colors are the levers?" Kiki asked.
Aria climbed up the side of the hood to look at the bombs. She could make out a few colors, but something seemed off.
"It's hard to tell with that light," Aria said. "It's distorting the colors, but I think I see a teal lever, a light purple lever, a fluoro green lever, and a grey lever."
"Well, I suppose we should start with peeking under the hood," Lilly said. Lilly quickly went under the conveyor and saw a number. "It's a fluoro green two!"
"Five different bombs, but they're pretty much the same challenge," Riley blurted out. "Where's the originality? I mean come on, am I the only one that finds this monotonous or what?"
"So you didn't have fun busting up those robots?" Kiki asked. Kiki was looking at the side of the room where she saw a bookshelf. She pulled out all the books and suddenly found a book with a number. "Light purple's four!"
"Yeah, I'd like to do more of that," Riley blurted out.
"Relax, I'm sure we will get to that point," Aria said. "Now come on guys, we got two numbers, I think we can figure it out now."
A while after Team Kiki tackled the machine room, Team Drenig did next. They saw all that was in there, including some large machines to the right. Right away they started looking for the numbers. Wren went over to the machines, Stawolt went to the bookshelves, and Dustin went inside the conveyor to see the fluoro green two. Meanwhile, Drenig was shocked at Stawolt's approach to the bookshelf.
"Wait, what are you doing man!" Drenig shouted.
"Knocking the bookcase down," Stawolt responded.
"That's barbaric!" Drenig replied. "What if there's a number on one of the books? Or a number inside the book case?"
"Or a number BEHIND the book case," Stawolt said, pointing to a grey three.
"Oh... Okay, never mind then," Drenig apologized.
Wren was looking behind the machines. He could just see in the small crevice a teal one.
"Back there! There's a teal colored one in the back!" Wren called out.
"Okay, Teal first, fluoro green second, grey third, light purple fourth, got it," Drenig called out.
Drenig then climbed the ladder up to the bomb. He was working rather slowly, but made it up there eventually. Wren followed him up the ladder, but he too struggled a bit. Next, Dustin followed them up, and he seemed to have an even harder time climbing up.
...But not as hard as Stawolt. Stawolt was unable to even get on the ladder, let alone climb it.
"I... I can't climb it," Stawolt said.
"Don't worry, you can," Wren said. "Here, let me help you."
Wren went over to the edge and held his paw out. ...But immediately Drenig pulled him away.
"Wren, it's nice you're trying to help him and all," Drenig mentioned. "But need I remind you that he's many times your weight?"
"Then what do you propose?" Wren asked.
"Say, Drenig, you're a big guy right?" Dustin said. "Think you can push two levers by yourself?"
"Huh?" Drenig stuttered for a bit. "Well I suppose I could, but it'd be harder to coordinate."
"No it won't just want at the fluoro and grey ones," Dustin said. "Wren can push teal, then you can push fluoro, then grey, and I can finish."
"What did I tell you about outsmarting me?" Drenig joked.
The three contestants put their plan into motion. Wren shoved his lever first, Drenig shoved his two levers, and Dustin shoved his down. Once again, that was another bomb shut off. And yet, with four of their bombs shut off, Drenig couldn't help but wonder how far along the other team was.
It was Team Kiki's turn to explore the darkness of the caverns. They spent a bit of time wandering around in the darkness.
"Where is everything?" Kiki asked. "Can anyone see in the dark?"
"I could if I could light my tail," Riley said.
"We just have to keep searching for a light I guess," Kiki said.
"Ack! Something touched me," Lilly stated.
"Sorry, that was me," Aria mentioned.
"Aria, please don't sneak up on my like that," Lilly said.
"I didn't do it on purpose," Aria said.
"Guys knock it off," Riley said. "We need to search for a torch or something. They wouldn't just make it impossible to traverse through these caves."
"We didn't even do anything," Lilly said.
"Irregardless, we need to search for a light," Riley stated.
"Didn't I get at Chauncey for saying "irregardless" once?" Lilly asked.
"What's wrong it the word?" Riley asked.
"The fact that it's NOT a word?" Aria added. "Adding a negative prefix to an already negative word cancels it out. So you're basically saying "with regards" instead of regardless. See how that works?"
"Enough!" Kiki asked. "Come on, there's got to be something aroOOWN!"
Suddenly, everyone started going different ways and they turned into a pile of tumbling bodies. They were hopeless inside the darkness.
"I'd really like to be that L.A.R. P. er kid right about now," Lilly said.
"How would being a sissy L.A.R. P. er help us?" Riley asked.
"No, being a L.A.R. P. er wouldn't," Lilly clarified. "But being a Watchog would."
"Uh, guys?" Aria stuttered.
"Right... They're fluorescent creatures, they can glow in the dark," Riley stated.
"That, and they have really good eyesight," Lilly said.
"Uh, guys?" Aria repeated.
"It's a shame we're not Watchogs though," Kiki said. "I bet Drenig was able to clear this area with his friend quite easily."
"Shut up guys! I see a torch!" Aria shouted.
Aria wriggled out of the pile of bodies and went over to the torch she saw. As she got there, she saw something under her body. It was a forest green two.
"Ha! And I see the first number," Aria said. "We just need to find one more number and we're on our way."
Eventually Team Kiki found the bomb and deactivated it. They then proceeded to exit the dark cave to continue their race against the opposing team. With all that's been done, eight of ten bombs have been deactivated. Only one bomb was left.
-Pinch-
Suddenly, both teams emerged from their current locations. That's when they heard an announcement from Dagger Eyes himself.
"Good news contestants," Dagger Eyes blurted over the intercom.
"What, only two bombs left?" Wren asked.
"No, I took back the intercom from that fat big-pawed beaver you take after," Dagger Eyes stated.
"I am NOT fat!" Suddenly, another shout over the intercom came. It was Bertram.
"Oh please, You're a Bibarel," Dagger Eyes stated. "Bibarels are fat."
"We are NOT" Bertram shouted. "And what about you? I've seen your silhouette and you look like you're probably even fatter."
"Well, let's not get into a contest, shall we?" Dagger Eyes asked. "The point is, your friends are about to die!"
"They're my subjects, not my friends," Bertram stated. "...Wait, die?"
"Yes, I have many plans to eradicate them does the bomb thing go over," Dagger Eyes stated. "And well, they've already disarmed eight of the ten bombs, but two remain. I should also add, these bombs are the hardest to disarm yet."
"...So? Tell us where they are?" Kiki shouted.
"Gladly, they're in your bunkers," Dagger Eyes stated.
"Wait, what!?" Kiki shouted.
"No way, that's cheating!" Drenig shouted.
"No it isn't," Lilly said. "We can just have Bertram disarm the bombs. He's still on the intercom you know."
"Ha! He will have a hard time finding the bombs," Dagger Eyes mentioned.
"Oh yeah? I have the best in the business," Bertram said. "We will hunt those bombs down."
"Then go on, hunt the bombs down," Dagger Eyes shouted. "You'll all be history anyway, there's only thirty minutes left."
"Hmph, thirty minutes is long enough," Bertram said.
It was then that the contestants though of something. Both Lilly and Drenig had an idea.
"Wait a minute," Lilly said to her group. "In your bunkers?"
"He just said our bunkers," Drenig stated to his group. "He never said they were our above ground bunkers."
"Maybe he's talking about the prison bunkers," Lilly said to her group.
"...Huh? We just figured that out now?" Aria asked.
"Duh, what prison bunkers?" Stawolt asked on his group.
"After you left, we were put to sleep and transferred to Dagger Eye's prison," Wren stated.
"That makes sense," Kiki stated. "We would have known if they were in our bunkers."
"Well what are we waiting for?" Riley asked. "Let's go find that last bomb and shut it down."
"FOR TEAM DRENIG!" Dustin shouted. Dustin put his paw forward to have the other three join in a salute.
"For Team Drenig!" Wren, Stawolt and Drenig shouted as they raised their arms in salute.
"For Team Kiki!" Riley, Lilly, Aria and Kiki shouted, having the same idea as the other team.
With that, both teams bolted towards the big ravine where the lower paths were still present. They would need to go down those lower paths to reach the bunkers. Eventually, they got to the indents that lead to their temporary bunkers. Each team could see the pond they were given by Dagger Eyes.
"Eww, you guys had to fish in that?" Stawolt asked, looking at all the scrawny primitive-Remoraids.
"Trust me when I say that wasn't pleasant," Wren said.
Eventually the teams finished going through the hole in the wall that lead to their bunkers. But they were swiftly struck with falling debris. On both sides the teams were rained on by glitter powder. Team Drenig was dumped with gold colored powder, while Team Kiki was dumped with orange red powder.
"It's raining gold dust!" Stawolt cried. "Yaaaaaaaaaaay!"
But the other three on team Drenig were coughing through all the dust. They were not amused by it at all.
...Neither was Team Kiki. The powder they were inflicted with caused them to cough eratically. Riley was particularly peeved by the dust.
"Ugh! *cough* What was the point of this dust!?" Riley shouted.
"You may or may not figure it out why you were rained on by dust," Dagger Eyes blurted out over the intercom.
"Dagger Eyes is up to his old tricks I guess," Lilly said. "Aria, any idea?"
"If I knew, don't you think I'd be blurting out how stupid this is?" Aria asked.
"Wait, guys? I think we should keep quiet," Kiki stated.
The teams looked out and saw their temporary bunkers. But they also saw lots of Super Hypno-bots as well.
"We should just go out there and smash them apart," Riley said.
"Are you sure that's wise?" Aria asked.
"We defended ourselves before, we can do it again," Riley said.
"I'm going with Riley's plan," Kiki said.
"I suppose I do agree," Aria stated. "But, perhaps may I make a tiny little alteration to the plan?"
Meanwhile, Team Drenig was trying to formulate a plan. They weren't coming up with anything good except "go in and wreck havoc." But even that plan had flaws.
"If thy bared a strong length of steel, I could bring thy battle to thee," Dustin said.
"Don't you have a L.A.R. P. ing sword?" Wren asked.
"Thy... left it at the bunker," Dustin said, changing his tone after saying "Thy."
"Wait, why don't we wait for the other team to act?" Drenig asked.
"Huh, that sounds like a bad idea," Stawolt mentioned.
"No it's not," Drenig mentioned. "If all eyes are on them..."
Drenig stopped talking as he heard something in the background. It sounded like... music. ...Beautiful music.
"Duh, isn't that Aria's voice?" Stawolt asked.
Sure enough, over on the Team Kiki side of the playing field, Super Hypno-bots were being drawn to a lovely singing voice. They could hear Aria in the distance.
"Ooh, I'm packing my bags, heading up-town!
Working through the daily grind!
Thinking 'bout what could of been and what became!
I move ahead but think behind!"
"Nothing can stop Lord Dagger Eyes!" The Hypno-bots cried as they followed the source. "Exteeeeeerminate!"
"But when life gets you down, where you gonna turn to?
Ooooooooh!
You find a way to get around, sympathy finds you!"
Ooooooooh!"
Eventually the Hypno-bots head towards the Remoraid pond. They eventually start to gather around the pond where they see Aria right in the middle of it.
"Hey sug, hey hon, hey chil'," Aria called to them. "Nice day for a swim, huh?"
But what the Super Hypno-bots didn't know was that they were being watched. Kiki and her team was hugging the wall at the time when... they struck! Each of them started to take out the Super Hypno-bots one by one, striking at their weak point. Between Kiki's kicks, Riley's punches, and Lilly's use of a destroyed leg, the Hypno-Bots were going down. Even Aria got in on the action by dragging the Hypno-bots into the water.
"Sweetheart, don't you know water and machines don't mix?" Aria asked as she was dragging the robots in. The robots were surprisingly light, so it wasn't too hard to drag them in.
Meanwhile, the Super Hypno-bots on the other side were looking over to see the commotion on Kiki's side. That's when Team Drenig found their chance. Dustin and Stawolt came out arms loaded and ready to strike. They each took out a mech by themselves before they turned their attention over to them. But that was when Wren and Drenig came out. Wren started sprinting into battle, caring more about distracting some of the guards by drawing their attention to the bunker, while Drenig let fire on the Hypno-bots by hurling rocks at them.
But Team Kiki was ahead as they got all of their robots beaten and they were heading inside the bunker. There they saw their final bomb. ...But this bomb had eight levers instead of four.
"Wow, that bomb is bigger than the others," Kiki stated.
"Hmmm, I guess this means we each have to operate two levers at a time," Lilly mentioned.
"Hmmm, let's see," Aria said before examining the colors. Riley got on the other side. "We have violet, orange-red, hazel, and blood red.
"On this side we have copper green, bronze, silver, and gold colors," Riley mentioned.
"Hey look, a little Eevee doll." Suddenly, Lilly brought to attention an Eevee doll resting on one of the beds of the bunker.
"Why is that relevant?" Aria asked.
"It looks like Abigale's Eevee doll," Lilly mentioned.
"The furry had an Eevee doll?" Riley asked.
"One she played with a lot," Lilly mentioned. "She loved that doll almost as much as her fursuit. This one has a shimmering silver bow. Awwww."
Meanwhile, Team Drenig was slowly but surely making progress on the bots. By the time they were all finished, Kiki's team was well on their way. This worried Drenig.
"We're gonna have to work double-time man," Drenig said. "Remember, the first team to diffuse all five bombs gets an advantage against Dagger Eyes."
Eventually, Wren came out of the bunker. It looked like he had something important to say.
"Guys, this is the biggest one yet," Wren said. "There's EIGHT levers."
The three eventually looked inside the bunker and saw the bomb. With time running out, they payed no mind to what colors the levers had below them.
"Let's just look for clues," Drenig said.
"Hey, Drenig, your picture's in the room," Stawolt mentioned, pointing to a poster of Chauncey's painting of Drenig.
Drenig went up to the poster and examined it. He looked behind the portrait and saw something weird. There was a big copper green splotch on the back, but no number.
"Is anyone finding any numbers?" Drenig asked.
"No, but I found a red hat," Wren mentioned. "There's a violet splotch in it."
"Speaking of splotch, look at these dolls," Dustin mentioned, holding up an Eevee doll with a silver bow and a Vaporeon doll with a dark red bow. "What does this all mean?"
"Duh, didn't that bear cub have a hat like that?" Stawolt mentioned.
"...Yeah..." Wren mentioned.
"And look, an old Jhotan banner," Drenig mentioned. "It has a bronze splotch on the masting. Maybe this is all relevant."
But Team Kiki had the same idea. They found a lot of the same objects, and were figuring things out. Eventually, Lilly found a card on the bookshelf with a hazel colored splotch on the back. She turned the card over and saw Dylon's image.
"Guys, I have the answer," Lilly said. "All the objects in this room pertain to a certain cast member of the show."
Eventually, the camera started shifting the views between teams. Both were figuring out the puzzle.
"All we have to do is push the levers in the correct order," Drenig was telling his team.
"And the order can only be when these contestants were eliminated," Lilly stated on her side.
"Duh, but there's nothing for me here," Stawolt stated on his side.
"There's nothing here for me or Stawolt," Riley stated on his side.
"Yes there is," Lilly stated. "Look at the powder."
"Duh, does the powder have anything to do with it?" Stawolt asked his side.
"Yes Stawolt, I do believe so," Drenig mentioned.
"Wait, there's a color the same color as the powder dumped on us," Riley mentioned.
"Yes," Lilly confirmed. "The powder must be referring to you Riley."
"You were eliminated third," Drenig told Stawolt on his side.
"You were eliminated seventh," Lilly mentioned on his side.
"But what does my portrait have to do with anything?" Kiki asked her.
"Wait... Chauncey painted that you said," Stawolt mentioned on his side. "That poster must be referring to Chauncey."
"So we have our order," Wren blurted out.
"Ummm... no," Drenig mentioned. "I have no idea what some of these other symbols mean."
Team Kiki had a big advantage on that part. Lilly was Team Kiki's ace in the hole right now, as she was the only one who recognized some of the symbols.
"Dylan's tarot card is hazel, so hazel is pushed in first," Lilly mentioned.
"...Okay," Aria agreed.
"Pudge's hat is violet, so hazel violet," Kiki mentioned.
"The Eevee doll's bow is silver, so silver is fourth," Lilly added. "Yoshi's banner is bronze, that's five. Chauncey's painting of Lilly is copper green, so that's eight."
"I'm orange red, so that's seven, right?" Riley asked.
"Correct," Lilly confirmed. "And the Vaporeon doll with the blood red bow can only be referring to Ruce, who was number eight."
"Since gold is the only color absent, we can only assume that's what got dumped on Stawolt's team," Aria mentioned. "So hazel, violet, gold, silver, bronce, copper green, orange red, and blood red is the correct order."
"That just about wraps it up," Lilly said.
Over on Drenig's side, he was trying to get things situated. He had to guess what everything meant.
"I know what everything else means," Drenig said. "But what about the dolls?"
"Well... I guess we might have to guess," Dustin said. "Who carried around an Eevee doll?"
"I don't know," Drenig said. "I've never seen any contestant do it."
"It must have been someone's luxury item," Wren stated. "But who's? ...Well, who else could it be? If it refers to who got eliminated, we might need to do some math thinking over it."
"Hmmm... Well there was a Marill," Drenig thought out loud. "And there was an Azumarill. Azumarill is an evo to Marill, just like Vaporeon is an evo to Eevee. Maybe the Eevee symbolizes the fourth person kicked off, while the Vaporeon sybolizes the Azumarill, which I believe was her big sister."
"Then we now have our answer," Wren blurted out.
Over at Team Kiki, they were ready to shut the bomb off. Everyone was getting into positions.
"Alright, are we ready?" Aria asked.
"Why don't I start things off?" Riley asked.
Riley started to push his hazel lever down. ...But the lever wouldn't budge.
"That's weird, the lever won't budge," Riley stated.
"Mine neither," Kiki mentioned.
"Hey, don't push out of turn," Lilly said.
"But why isn't it working?" Aria asked.
Over on the other end, Drenig's team was looking at the bomb carefully. They noticed another difference between it and the other bombs.
"Wait a minute, what's with these slots?" Dustin asked.
"The other bombs didn't have these," Stawolt mentioned.
"Yeah, and what else is that these slots all have numbers above them," Wren mentioned. "Nine through sixteen."
"They must have to do with the other contestants," Drenig said. "But I don't get it. What are we supposed to put in these slots?"
"Some type of card obviously," Wren said. "Check those books, they might be inside them."
"We can also try looking under the mattresses," Dustin suggested.
"Duh, what about the pillow cases?" Stawolt asked.
"Good idea guys," Drenig said. "Let's look anywhere we can, including the fire pit."
Drenig dug through the campfire stove. The actual stove was opened first, but it was just an empty pot. Next, Drenig sifted through the ashes. Suddenly, he came across something. It was a card with Aria on it.
"Hah! I found one," Drenig called out.
Over on the other side, Team Kiki was finding cards too. Aria... kind of wasn't amused by where they hid her card.
"How cute," Aria said. "Bertram's so annoyed by me he put me in the fire."
Meanwhile, Riley was looking in the pillow case on the cot. He found another card.
"Hey Lilly, I found your card," Riley stated.
"I think I found Grant's card under one of the mattresses," Lilly said.
"Blech! I just found Jet's card in one of these books," Kiki blurted out.
As if to show off a sense of humor, the screen split into eight triangular fragments. Each fragment had one of the eight contestants shouting "EWWWW!" all at the same time. This was to show what everyone thought of Jet.
Suddenly, the chase was on. Contestants were scrambling around trying to look for the cards. One by one each of the cards were found.
"I found Wren's card," Dustin called out.
"I found yours too!" Wren responded.
"I found Percy's card," Lilly mentioned.
"I found... err, who's this chick again?" Riley asked, holding up a card with Muffy on it.
Eventually both teams were trying to place cards in the bombs, then deactivate the bombs. Memorizing the whole order was hard.
"Let's see, Lilly in this slot," Drenig stated. "Then we go to Dustin, Percy, Aria, Muffy, Jet, Wren, and Grant."
"But what was the first order?" Stawolt asked.
"Oh shoot, I forgot!" Drenig blurted out.
"Anyone remember the order to the original puzzle?" Lilly asked on her side.
"I think it was hazel..." Aria started. "Then... Ummm..."
"It was hazel, copper, gold, silver, violet, bronze, silver..." Wren started on his side. "No, that's not right!"
"Let's just remind ourselves and quick," Riley blurted out on his side.
The contestants were scrambling about the area reviewing all the objects. The contestants were trying to remind themselves what the orders were. Eventually they started pushing the levers randomly.
"Come on, come on," Wren cried as his team tried to get the right combo.
"Why isn't it shutting off!?" Kiki yelled on her team, frustrated as could be.
"I know we can get it right," Drenig said frantically on his side.
We then saw a split screen image of Kiki and Drenig. They were both frustrated and about to say the same thing.
"I came too far to lose now!" they both shouted.
But eventually, both teams figured out the order. As they both did, both teams pushed their levers in the order and the bombs stopped. Afterward, there was a short pause.
"Uhhh... did we win?" Stawolt asked.
Suddenly, someone was speaking through the intercom. It was Bertram and he seemed to want to confirm who won.
"Both of the bombs are now shut off, and Quarantine is safe," Bertram said. "Congratulations, for shutting off the ninth bomb..."
There was a long suspenseful moment in the air as both teams were waiting anxiously for the results. They were both acting like the winner of the whole show rid on this decision, even though it was only the deciding factor on who got an advantage.
"Team...
...
...
...
...
KIKI!" Bertram finally blurted out.
Suddenly, Team Kiki started to cheer as their name was called. Beating Drenig seemed to mean a lot to Kiki.
"I did it!" Kiki blurted out. "My team did it I mean."
"You got the advantage, Kiki," Riley said. "I... I'm proud, really."
Team Drenig was a bit bummed though. They didn't give up though.
"Don't worry guys, it's not over," Drenig said. "We still have a chance to win."
But at that moment, another sound erupted. You could eventually hear an infuriated Dagger Eyes.
"WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!?" Dagger Eyes screamed. "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!? This is impossible! I thought for sure you would all be blown to bits! Even if I couldn't destroy Quarantine, I could at LEAST have destroyed you! WHY CAN'T DAGGER EYES GET HIS WAY!"
"Should have gone to Tauros King, Dagger," Wren joked.
Meanwhile, we return to Dagger Eyes chamber where we see Medulla in a huge shadow. Medulla's lack of emotion made no reference to what would happen next.
"This is all YOUR FAULT!" Dagger Eyes roared.
"Dagger Eyes, I did as you asked," Medulla responded.
"You gave me UNFINISHED ROBOTS YOU IMBECILE!" Dagger Eyes shouted. "THEY were SUPPOSED to DESTROY THE CONTESTANTS!"
"Give me a break, I can't control my arms, and I'm in horrible pain," Medulla responded.
"ENOUGH!" Dagger Eyes screeched.
It was then that Dagger Eyes shot another laser right at the deformed Medulla, knocking him and his prison over. Medulla started to cry from all the pain at this point.
"Master! Why are you so cruel?" Medulla whined.
"If you want something done, you have to do it yourself!" Dagger Eyes shouted.
Eventually we appear back to team Kiki and Drenig. They had both just exited the bunkers and were looking outside down long and dark tunnels leading to who knows where. They could only assume the final battle would take place down there.
"Come! I will take care of you MYSELF!" Dagger Eyes shouted through the intercom.
Both teams were hesitant at first, but eventually they all marched bravely down the halls. They assumed nothing bad would happen in the final battle, but they were still anxious to see who would emerge victorious.
-Face The Madness-
As the teams were running down the halls, the tension set in. Both teams were starting to worry about the final battle between Kiki, Drenig, and Dagger Eyes. They all wanted their team to win, but they feared there could only be one winner.
Team Drenig was running down the halls at a slow pace. They wanted there to be a steady pace that everyone could keep up with. But while walking, they started to think of all the times they had.
"Well... we've been through a lot together," Wren said. "In this nearly three-week experience, it's finally almost over."
"I'm just glad you guys gave me another chance," Stawolt said. "It wasn't fun staying in that zombie holding area the whole time."
"Thy is prepared to slay the vile fiend," Dustin stated in his L.A.R. P. ing voice. "Will fire when ready."
"Sorry friend, but I'm the one in the final two," Drenig mentioned. "I have a feeling this is going to be me and Kiki fighting him by ourselves."
"Aww, I wanna fight Dagger Eyes too," Stawolt pleaded.
"And I'd like you guys to be there," Drenig said. "But like I said, it will probably just be me and Kiki."
"I... I guess that's to be expected," Wren said. "But Kiki has the advantage. Do you really think you can beat her?"
Drenig stopped for a moment. He really didn't think he could beat her. Still, he wasn't going to just stand by and let her do so.
"Don't worry guys," Drenig said. "Whatever advantage she gets won't be enough. I'll still win."
"I don't know, Drenig," Dustin started. "She looks pretty tough."
"I can take her," Drenig said. "...I think."
Kiki seemed to be less worried. She had a good feeling she would win. After all, she was more athletic than Drenig. Combining her advantage going into the Dagger Eyes fight, she felt like she would surely win. And yet, she felt bad. Riley noticed this.
"Uhh, is something wrong Kiki?" Riley asked.
"I... I guess I'm just... worried," Kiki said.
"Come on, with your advantage, you'll beat him for sure," Aria comforted.
"...But do I want it to be that easy?" Kiki asked. "What if the advantage overpowers me? I'm in it to win it, don't get me wrong, but I feel like it might be too hard for Drenig. ...I don't want to say he's the weaker player, but..."
"You two have been friends for a while, haven't you?" Lilly asked.
"Drenig came here with hopes and dreams just like me," Kiki said. "I... I'm thinking about declining the advantage."
"Listen Kiki, I'm not going to let you risk our shot at a slice of the pie just cause you want to be all goody-goody about things," Aria stated.
"Plus, you're acting like you will surely win," Riley mentioned.
"I know it's not a sure thing," Kiki said. "But I still feel bad inside."
"All you can do is bite the bullet and go," Lilly said. "There's going to be a winner, and there's going to be a loser. All you have to do is press on."
"You... you're right," Kiki said. "And thanks. ...Thanks for all your help guys. I'm going to win this all for you."
Eventually, both teams made it down a corridor until they entered a large room. Inside the room was a HUGE door. Also inside the room was a certain someone who somehow, one way or another, found a way to reach this spot.
"What the... Ay man, How did you get here!?" Drenig asked. ...It was Bertram.
"I have my ways," Bertram said.
"No, really, how did you get here?" Aria asked.
"I crawled through the cliff where Dagger Eyes sent his ship out," Bertram mentioned. "Eventually I followed a path that lead here. ...Anyway, beyond this door is a fiend so reviled, so powerful, evil, dangerous and irate that no one has ever defeated him."
"...Because no one's ever had the chance to try yet," Lilly stated.
"Well... yes, you will technically be the first ones to actually fight him, but yeah," Bertram said. "Alas, I am afraid that Kiki and Drenig must go alone."
"Let me at him," Kiki said. "I can defeat him with my bare talons."
"What about us Bertram?" Stawolt asked.
"Do not worry," Bertram said. "You six ALSO have an important task."
"What, we're gonna fight some more robots?" Riley asked enthusiastically.
"You will," Bertram said. "Dagger Eyes is sending his remaining army of robots here to try and stop us from defeating him."
"What can a bunch of defunct robots do to us?" Lilly asked.
"They will try to get beyond the door and fight Kiki and Drenig," Bertram mentioned.
"Thy shall not pass!" Dustin proclaimed.
"However, I have some rules to mention," Bertram said. "First off, Kiki? You won the advantage, and here it is."
Bertram pulled from behind his back a big plastic gun. This gun seemed to be loaded with large baseballs.
"A baseball launcher?" Kiki asked.
"Correct," Bertram confirmed. "Drenig, unfortunately, will be on his own for weapons. He will have to fight using rocks and stones."
"That's fine by me," Drenig mentioned.
"And by me," Kiki mentioned. "I thought this might be too easy, but aiming at stuff is Drenig's specialty. Even with this gun, he could still win."
"One big thing to mention is that Dagger Eyes will shoot huge lasers," Bertram said. "He will not be afraid to hit you with them either."
"Wait, the lasers won't hurt them, will they?" Wren asked in a worried tone.
"They will definitely not kill them, but they will not be fun to withstand," Bertram said.
"This is starting to sound crazy," Drenig said.
"Don't worry, I have Betty on hand, she will tend to the wounded," Bertram mentioned.
"Where is she then?" Riley asked.
"She's right there," Bertram said, pointing to an Audino near a large doorway.
"Hey guys," Betty called out.
"But THIS is the most important rule," Bertram mentioned. "Your teams job is to fend off swarms of Hypno-bots, and believe me there is a LOT of them. They may not be able to hold the door for very long and eventually the Hypno-bots will come in to fight Drenig and Kiki."
"Wow... that sounds hard," Wren mentioned.
"I think they will have a hard time getting past me, guys," Stawolt prided.
"And here's the bad news," Bertram said. "The Hypno-bots mission is to drag Kiki and Drenig into large holes at the sides of the room. If you fall into these holes, you are done for."
"Wait, what?" Drenig asked.
"That's right," Bertram said. "And, if both of you fall into the holes, then I am afraid to say it, but Dagger Eyes will have won. There will be NO winner, and no one will get any form of prize."
"Are... you... serious!?" Kiki shouted. "We came all this way to the final episode, and it could be for NOTHING!?"
"This is blasphemous!" Dustin shouted.
"No reality show has ever done that!" Aria shouted.
"You can't do this to us!" Kiki shouted.
"Yeah, that's incredibly low," Drenig scoffed.
"Then you better make sure that does not happen," Bertram said. "And now... prepare yourself, for here he is. The one and only lord Dagger Eyes."
Bertram opened the huge doors behind him which lead into a final dark corridor. He then stepped out of the way for Kiki and Drenig to pass through.
"Good luck," Bertram said.
Drenig and Kiki were now very nervous. Here they were, the final two. Only one person stood between them and the grand prize or so they thought at first. But after hearing there was the possibility of there being no winner, the stakes became much higher. Kiki and Drenig feared the worst, but hope for the best.
"Well," Drenig started before taking a gulp. "Good luck Kiki."
"Good luck Drenig," Kiki responded. "I... I just hope at least one of us wins."
"Me too," Drenig said.
Eventually the two got close to each other. They started to stare each other down again before eventually joining hands. They shook each others hand for a half a minute before they eventually turned to the darkness.
"Just go already!" Bertram shouted. "Face... the... MADNESS!"
"Well... here it goes," Drenig said.
The two went into the darkness, holding hands the entire time. They were both really worried about the prize as they crept through the darkness.
...Suddenly, there were in the domain of Dagger Eyes. It was completely dark except for his iconic glowing eyes. But Dagger Eyes' own were very high up in the air. This told Kiki and Drenig that this creature was huge.
"So nice of you to show up," Dagger Eyes said. "So appropriate to have two weak mortals approach me. Two fairy weak mortals."
"D... Dagger Eyes?" Drenig started. "Your... your time is up!"
"We... we will not surrender to you!" Kiki called out confidently.
"Such confidence from ones so small," Dagger Eyes stated. "Well... I suppose it's time. Time for you to finally see the mon behind the madness!"
Eventually, the lights started to form inside the room until eventually you could see the giant Dagger Eyes character. Dagger Eyes was massive, and he took up almost a third of the room. The first thing the contestants saw was a giant flowing red robe with two big round feet sticking out the sides. Eventually, the two looked up and saw what Dagger Eyes was. He was a big round ginormous... Wigglytuff?
"...A giant Wigglytuff," Drenig stated.
"Surprised?" Dagger Eyes asked. "You expected something a bit more... menacing, didn't you?"
"Are you nuts?" Kiki mentioned. "Wigglytuffs are menacing in their own right. Have you seen old depictions of them? Depictions as these giant round big-eyed nightmares? A far cry from the cute Wigglytuffs we know."
"Now that I think of it, he DOES remind me of those old depictions," Drenig mentioned. "Especially those creepy dolls."
"So you understand my gruesome image?" Dagger Eyes asked.
"It's not the first thing you think of when you think of scary, that's for sure," Kiki mentioned. "But yeah we do understand it."
"Then you also understand the grave situation you are in," Dagger Eyes asked.
"We are NOT afraid of you!" Drenig shouted. "Err... or the thought that no one gets the prize."
"If you are not afraid of me then prove it," Dagger Eyes taunted. "Why don't you see just how strong I am? Go on, shoot me right in my belly. Think you can do it?"
"...Well sure," Kiki said. "Why would that be difficult?"
"Do it!" Dagger Eyes taunted. "Watch what happens!"
"Here goes nothing!" Kiki shouted.
Kiki cocked her gun up and aimed it straight at the center of Dagger Eye's belly. She fired one quick shot at him and watched as the ball commenced impact. The ball bounced off Dagger Eyes like strong rubber!
"Tee hee hee, that feels good," Dagger Eyes taunted again.
"Then try this on for size!" Drenig shouted.
Next, Drenig picked up a rock. He aimed it really high, right at Dagger Eye's eye. The rock hurtled towards Dagger Eye's own and landed a direct hit. ...The rock shattered on impact against the eye!
"What? Okay, I get the ball bouncing off the belly," Drenig started. "But how the heck does an eye shatter stone!?"
"What, do you think my eyes are actually made of... well... uhhh... what are eye's made of?" Dagger Eyes asked. "Never mind! These eyes are made of strong glass! Those rocks won't shatter my eyes."
"Fine, mouth it is," Kiki stated.
"No use," Dagger Eyes mentioned. "I have a net in my mouth that will catch anything you throw into it."
"Then how do we damage you?" Drenig asked.
"That's for me to know, and for YOU to die trying to find out!" Dagger Eyes shouted. "Now, I will show you my SECOND favorite attack. YAH!"
Dagger Eyes immediately stomped down onto the ground and the whole are started to shake. Suddenly, a large boulder came from the ceiling, and it was heading toward Kiki and Drenig. They both immediately jumped out of the way.
"Yikes, is that boulder legit?" Drenig asked.
Kiki went up to it and puched it with her talon. It hurt her fist on contact.
"Yup, that's a real rock," Kiki said.
"AHAHAHAHAAA!" Dagger Eyes started to laugh right before firing a giant laser through his eyes at the boulder. The boulder shattered from the impact of the laser. "THAT is my favorite attack!"
"...What did we get ourselves into?" Drenig asked aloud.
Outside Dagger Eyes arena, the contestants were prepared for the flood of badguys. They were waiting anxiously for the Hypno-bots to show up.
"Come on, come on, there should be head bashing by now," Riley said, feeling a bit anxious.
"Duh, maybe they already beat Dagger Eyes?" Stawolt suggested.
"If I hear you say "duh" one more time, bad things will happen," Riley said.
"Dude, chill out, it's not like he's hurting you," Wren said.
"You stay out of this, big foot," Riley taunted.
"Ugh... I can already see the fan art," Wren whimpered. He started to shiver in fear.
"Aww, see that, you scared him," Aria challenged.
"Guys, stop fighting, they're here!" Lilly pointed out.
"Arms to BATTLLLLE!" Dustin shouted.
But what the contestants weren't anticipating was how big the flood would be. There were hundreds of robots. Sure, only a few could come out of the hall at a time, but fending them off for a long period of time would be hard.
"YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" Dustin shouted as they got near.
Dustin started things off by chopping the first robot in his defunct arm. It was all about striking the weak points. Meanwhile the others came in. Stawolt swung his massive arms to knock over some robots in the head, Lilly was using the robot leg she was carrying to strike bots at the hip, Aria was slinking around the robots attacks before constricting the necessary weak points to snap them apart, and Riley was tearing off what he could. Wren was... trying to find a way to help.
"Maybe there's some rocks around here," Wren said to himself, looking around the area.
Just then, one of the contestants tossed him one of the robots arms. This was what Wren needed to succeed.
"Right, now I can battle," Wren said as he swung his robot arm right into the hip of a robot that came near him.
Back with Kiki and Drenig, they were worried about their state. Dagger Eye's lasers were really scaring them, and they had no idea how to harm Dagger Eyes.
"Let me know when you guys give up," Dagger Eyes said. "Then I can have my friends throw you into the pit."
"No! Uncle is weakness!" Kiki shouted.
"But this is madness," Drenig said right before he jumped out of the way of another laser. "How do we fight him!? He doesn't seem to have a weakness!"
"No, there's no way this is un-winnable," Kiki said. "There HAS to be a way."
"Shoot... shoot the weakening structure." Suddenly, the contestants heard a voice. Far away in the room, they saw Medulla, and he seemed to be talking to them.
"Medulla? Are you talking to us?" Drenig mentioned.
"Behind Dagger Eyes," Medulla stated. "There's a..."
Dagger Eyes immediately swung his arm right at Medulla. The mutilated Hypno was too slow to get out of the way, and was immediately knocked away by Dagger Eyes.
"I changed my mind," Dagger Eyes said. "THAT is my second favorite."
"There's something behind him we can target to hurt Dagger Eyes," Drenig said.
"Right, but how do we get behind him?" Kiki asked before dodging another laser. "He's so big. Is there anywhere in the room we can actually shoot behind him?"
"I don't know," Drenig said.
Meanwhile, the robots were starting to take their toll on the other contestants. Eventually the numbers were starting to overwhelm them.
"There's too many!" Wren shouted as he was trying to fight approaching robots. Suddenly, one of them grabbed away his robot arm to make him defenseless.
"But we have to keep fighting!" Aria stressed as multiple robots were squeezing her. "For Kiki and Drenig!"
"I'm trying!" Riley shouted after taking out a robot. But then two more came up and grabbed him.
"Thy be fighting good fight," Dustin said. "Thy may be felled soon!" Dustin was being pulled apart by multiple mechs.
"Stawolt! I think it's up to you," Lilly said as three robots were restraining her.
Stawolt was in the doorway, swinging his arms about trying to defend Kiki and Drenig from the mechs. But with the others being restrained, he had a hard time guarding the doorway. At first it seemed like Stawolt was doing well, but eventually the numbers overwhelmed him too. Stawolt wasn't as wide as the doorway, and Hypno-Bots were able to get by him. In addition, as strong as he was, with all those robots on him he was almost down for the count.
"I'm sorry guys!" Stawolt cried. "I can't hold all of them."
"You did your best, child," Aria said.
"Are you nuts?" Riley asked. "How could he not have been able to hold them?"
"I... I'm not a Legendary," Stawolt mentioned.
Drenig and Kiki were both scrambling to find the shooting point, but Dagger Eyes kept rallying them any time they tried to go to the sides of the room. At this point, they were unsure if they would win.
"Are you getting any luck!?" Kiki shouted out after dodging another blast.
"No! What about you?" Drenig replied after dodging another blast.
"I cant find that spot!" Kiki shouted.
Suddenly, Drenig was immediately hit by one of Dagger Eye's lasers. He was effortlessly swept to the background. Kiki got seriously worried.
"DRENIG!" Kiki shouted.
"Argh! That smarts, man!" Drenig shouted. "Kiki, don't worry about me, you have to..."
But before Drenig could finish, Kiki was shot by a laser too. She, also, was swept aside by Dagger Eye's laser.
"NO! KIKI!" Drenig shouted.
"OWW! All my joints are on fire!" Kiki shouted.
"I'm starting to feel numb right now!" Drenig called back.
"Ha ha ha ha! It's almost over for you!" Dagger Eyes shouted. "Behold!"
Dagger Eyes pointed behind the group and they could see that the Hypno-Bots were coming in.
"No! They couldn't protect us!?" Kiki shouted.
"No! I can't let it end this way!" Drenig shouted. "I don't care if I win or Kiki wins, just as long as SOMEONE does!"
But suddenly, the Hypno-bots were dragging both Kiki and Drenig to the holes where they would toss them in. Things were not looking good for the two.
"You can't get away with this!" Kiki shouted.
"Oh please, I can and WILL!" Dagger Eyes shouted.
"Kiki! I don't know about you, but I refuse to quit!" Drenig shouted.
"Me too, but I don't know if there's anything left!" Kiki said. "Drenig... don't let it end like this."
"I don't want to let it end like this," Drenig responded. "But what can we do."
"No... I don't care who wins," Kiki said. "We're in this together!"
Just then, as they were dragged closer to the holes, they saw it. Right behind Dagger Eyes, it looked like a ceiling was about to collapse. All it needed was the slightest impact to send it down.
"Right! First one wins!" Drenig shouted. As Drenig was being dragged, he picked up a large rock and eyed the ceiling.
"Time to end this!" Kiki shouted. Kiki had her gun in hand, so she was at an advantage.
Drenig hurled his stone as hard as he could at the weakest part of the ceiling. Kiki shot her gun off at the same location. Both the rock and the ball from Kiki's gun were flying toward the the weak spot, when suddenly...
...
...
...
...
...Impact.
The ceiling gave way and collapsed right on top of Dagger Eyes. He didn't see it coming as the rocks crashed right down on him, knocking him to the ground. Kiki and Drenig were fortunately still in the room as they watched it happen. The Hypno-bots froze as well, not even bothering to finish the job. It was over. ...Dagger Eyes was beaten. The only question... who's projectile made the killing blow.
-And The Award Goes To...-
After the ordeal, the Hypno-bots let go of Kiki and Drenig. Whit that, both of the finalists limped towards each other. They struggled through the pain before eventually they joined each other in a hug.
"We did it!" Drenig shouted. "We beat Dagger Eyes!"
"It's nice that someone did," Kiki said. "I'd hate to see the prize money go to waste."
"It was a nice game though," Drenig said. "Good shot on making the winning blow."
"Huh? I don't know about that Drenig," Kiki said. "I think your shot was just an inch faster."
"Now that I think of it," Drenig started. "...Who did make the winning shot?"
But it didn't seem to be over. They looked back at Dagger Eye's body and noticed there was wriggling up on it's back. It looked as if there were creatures coming out. Suddenly, a hatch opened up on Dagger Eye's back. Out of it popped another Wigglytuff. ...Two Wigglytuff. ...No! Three Wigglytuff! Eventually, four more popped out. Seven Wigglytuff were present after the last one to come out closed the hatch on what was clear right now was no Wigglytuff at all. Dagger Eyes was a machine in the guise of a giant Wigglytuff run by seven smaller Wigglytuff.
"Ugh. All we went through, just to have our plans destroyed." The Wigglytuffs varied in size. There were tiny ones, normal ones, and one BIG one. But the leader of the group seemed to be the second biggest.
"Wait... Dagger Eyes was... a machine?" Kiki asked.
"What did you expect?" the leader asked. "You ever seen a Wigglytuff shoot lasers out of it's eyes?"
"But who are you?" Drenig asked.
"It's a long story," the leader said. "I am the leader of an underground guild. We trained day after day to become a group of Explorers who would serve the world, and so we became. But then... The big Guildmaster and his stupid Chatot thought that our group was too care-free."
"It's because you only cared about the prize." Eventually, Bertram came into the room. He seemed to know about this.
"Bertram? You've known all along?" Kiki asked.
"Your satisfaction rating was low as a guild," Bertram mentioned. "The way you treated your clients, you treated them in the back of your mind. Your rescue missions showed you escorting others back in large bags. The way you fought monsters without remorse destroyed chunks of the local Eco-system. And worst of all, you sprang at any chance to make extra money, even in unlawful ways."
"But we got all our jobs done!" the leader yelled. "We deserved respect!"
"No, you didn't," Bertram said. "Remember what you were doing when you got captured? You were trying to rob a shop of a rare expensive item the seller refused to give away to them. You weren't rescuers, you were NOT explorers, you were just a bunch of thugs! Rescue teams set out to capture you, and ever since then you took revenge on other Pokemon."
"They think we did something wrong, and so do you!" the leader yelled. "But we did not! All of you and your stupid customs! Why do we get hated for doing things just a little bit differently?"
"Hello! Break ins? Robbery?" Bertram asked."And now you can put attempted genocide on your resume."
"But they deserved it!" the leader yelled. "They ALL deserved it! Every one of them!"
"You can make your case behind bars," Bertram said.
Eventually, the six defending contestants came in to see the commotion. But behind them were some very familiar faces. Just about every one of the non-contestant cast members were there. Mignon was there, Gungho, Betty, Wyler, Savil, Itsy Spritzee and Bitsy Spritzee, Varmy, Slice and Dice, Derrick Bower, Byron, Bertha, Court, Crusher, Stronghold and his helpers, Arbiter and Skree, Slash and Smash, Hespute, AND Gola were all there.
"Help... Help me..." Suddenly, eyes were on Medulla. Seemed he was in pain. Betty immediately rushed over to Medulla to help him out. "Please remove me from this."
Before Betty complied, she cast Heal Pulse on him first. Then, he stripped him of everything holding him together until eventually he looked like a normal Hypno.
"Thank you, ...Thank you," Medulla said, shaken by his experience. "You have no idea what it was like working for those... those hideous monsters."
"Worthless!" The Dagger Eyes leader yelled. "All of you! Worthless! You will not hear the last of us! I swear this to you!"
Bertram snapped his paws while he gave the leader an unamused look. Suddenly, the Hypno brothers and their sons/nephews went forward to seize all the members of Dagger Eyes. They started hauling them away, all of them completely restrained by the strength of the drowzee guards.
"I will repeat this! This is not the last you will hear of Dagger Eyes!" the leader shouted. "We'll be back! And we WILL REIGN AGAIN!"
"Yeah right," Bertram said right before they all left. He then turned back to Kiki and Drenig who were both still hurt. "Oh, uhhh Betty?" Bertram asked.
After tending to Medulla, Betty quickly ran over to Drenig and Kiki and cast Heal Pulse on both of them. They seemed very much pleased by Betty's hospitality.
"You two have done well," Bertram said. "You have done us all a great service by finally defeating Dagger Eyes. Soon, Savil's potions will be shipped out around the world, and Dagger Eye's zombie epidemic will be only mentioned in the history books. Well done."
Drenig and Kiki stared at each other once again. They were both proud of how far they came. But deep down, they really liked each other. They couldn't help but feel a bit lost in each others eyes. ...But suddenly, they both had a startling thought.
"Well who won?" they both asked.
"Ummm..." Bertram stuttered. He actually did not know who won yet. "Well... I... need to review the videos more."
"Huh? You mean you couldn't tell?" Drenig asked.
"Well... no," Bertram replied. "But don't worry, we will come up with a winner soon. In the meantime, the remaining contestants are waiting back at the bunkers. Tonight, there is going to be a party!"
And there was. That night, in honor of the finale, there was a huge party with cake and games. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. There was even a bowling alley which Dylon and Yoshi were threw his ball down the lane, but only knocked down three pins. Dylon on the other hand went afterward, and managed to score a strike.
"Yes!" Dylon proclaimed loudly.
"I... I'm kind of new to this," Yoshi said.
"There's nothing to it," Dylon stated. "All you need is a steady arm and controlled speed. Too fast and you'll risk the seven-ten split. Me, I'm an avid bowler. Best in community too."
"Huh... So you DO have a talent," Yoshi mentioned.
"Told ya," Dylon stated proudly.
Yoshi was looking at Dylon, unsure what to say to him. He was worried about offending him, so he just stuck with something simple.
"Good... good for you?" Yoshi said happily.
Meanwhile, Aria and Lilly were at the buffet table. Aria was putting some shrimp cocktail on a plate and Lilly was loading up on vegetables and chips. Lilly wasn't eating any sauce.
"Huh, you don't want any of the ranch dip?" Aria asked.
"Nah, food tastes better to me without it," Lilly said.
"Hmmm, speaking of something you can do without," Aria started, pointing to Lilly's left. And as you would expect, there he was: Chauncey.
"Oh... hello Lilly," Chauncey said.
"Ummm... hello Chauncey?" Lilly asked.
"I... I just wanted to apologize for... for harassing you," Chauncey said. "I... I was wrong to act the way I did. I was a complete and total jerk and... I kind of embarrassed myself on live television."
"So you admit it?" Lilly asked.
"Yeah, I guess so," Chauncey said.
"You're still not going out with me," Lilly said, playing hard to get.
"Wait... can we still be friends at least?" Chauncey asked. Chauncey started to give her a puppydog look.
"Well... I'll mull it over," Lilly decided before walking away. She left Chauncey and Aria at the table.
"Well... you can't blame me for trying," Chauncey said.
"Actually, I kind of can," Aria stated.
"...That was a real apology though," Chauncey confirmed.
Meanwhile, Aria looked down the table and noticed Pudge was standing right on top of it. And he was right next to the cake, trying to eat it straight. Aria tried to tell him off.
"Now now Pudge, that's not proper table manners," Aria said.
"I want some cake," Pudge said.
"Hey, why don't I cut you a piece?" Chauncey offered.
Chauncey went to the cake, brought out his elbow blades and cut a nice sized slice for Pudge. This shocked Pudge quite a bit.
"Chauncey! You're not supposed to use your natural weapons," Pudge said.
"It's okay now, the contest's over," Chauncey said. "I can't break any rules if there are no rules."
"Well..." Pudge eyeballed the plate of cake Chauncey offered him before immediately taking it. He then started to shove the cake in his face with no regard for manners. "Mmmmm, delicious cake."
"Poor Pudge," Chauncey said out loud.
Meanwhile, we check out a not so pleasant scene. Jet was alone in a corner. He seemed anything but happy. He felt he came onto this show for nothing after getting kicked off days ago.
"I should be up there instead of that stupid wig-wearing fatso," Jet pouted. "It's all Wren's fault! I would be right up there if he didn't punch a hole in my raft. I would have beaten him and I would be up there in the winner's circle! It was my dream! My chance to prove to the world! I hate Wren! I hate him!"
Percy was walking by him and couldn't help but pity the poor sod. Percy decided to go up to him and talk to him.
"Not humbled even a little bit?" Percy asked. "Geeze, grow up."
"You stay out of this tubby!" Jet shouted.
Percy quickly released his tail from his waste and grabbed Jet. Percy started to squeeze Jet with his tail, eventually causing him to cry. That's when Percy let go of him. Jet basically turned into a sobbing wreck.
"I'm gonna get my revenge on that stupid electric rodent," Jet whined.
"Man you are ultra pathetic," Percy said. Eventually Percy left the area to give Jet a chance to tend to his crybaby tears.
In another area, you could see Grant under the tree. Abigale, Ruce, and Muffy were under the tree with him. Grant had his goggles pulled up over his head.
"I just want a second chance with you guys," Grant said. "I... I wanted to act like a TV villain because... I guess I was playing the game as an actor. But now that the show is over, I just want to say that... I know I shouldn't have done all the things I did."
"No! You shouldn't have you jerk!" Ruce yelled.
"I can't believe I actually trusted you!" Muffy shouted.
"But... that's in the past," Grant said. "I want to start over, let others get to know the real me, and what not."
"You lied to us!" Ruce shouted. "Give us one good reason why we should trust you?"
"Yeah!" Muffy shouted.
"Sis... I think he's sincere," Abigale said.
"You can't be serious," Ruce said.
"No... Deep down I believe him," Abigale said. "He apologized, didn't he?"
"So he can fool us twice!" Muffy shouted.
"I think he really is sorry," Abigale said, going up to Grant and nuzzling him.
"Awww, thanks Abigale," Grant said with a smile. "I would be happy to be your friend again. And this time for real."
"You... I'm keeping my eye on you from now on," Ruce stated.
"I want to be your friends too," Grant said.
"...I still don't trust you," Muffy said.
Stawolt and Wren were together, watching the sun set over the peninsula. They were both enjoying a slice of cake as well. Of course, friendship came up as well.
"Did you have fun today Stawolt?" Wren asked.
"More fun than I had the past week or so," Stawolt said.
"Yeah," Wren replied. "They're announcing the winner soon. I wonder who it will be."
"I don't know, I didn't see," Stawolt mentioned. "By the way, where do you live?"
"Didn't I already tell you?" Wren asked.
"Oh... you did, didn't you?" Stawolt asked. "Azreal the Manectric's your friend, right?"
"Yup," Wren replied.
But the main commotion was at the top of the Mol-Tres bunker. Drenig and Kiki were standing at the edge of the building, while Dustin and Riley were standing next to them. They seemed to be proud of their progress.
"You're a cool girl to live up to expectations," Riley told Kiki.
"Thanks, I try," Kiki mentioned. "Must be all those Judo classes."
"No matter what they say, I know it was you who won," Riley said.
"No way, I bet Drenig is the one who struck first," Dustin responded.
"Now guys, it was a really close race," Drenig said. "Let's not get into an argument."
"I think you only thought it was close cause you weren't paying attention," Riley mentioned. "Kiki won it for sure."
"I bet she didn't even hit," Dustin said. "My friend Drenig here is a sure shot."
"Guys, knock it off, you're getting annoying," Kiki mentioned.
"Oh... sorry," Riley said.
"Yeah, I guess I got carried away," Dustin said.
As the moment of truth was nearing, Kiki and Drenig held hands. They each looked to their side and smiled at each other.
"No matter who wins, Kiki, I just want you to know... you gave a good fight," Drenig said.
"And you as well," Kiki said.
Finally, Bertram showed up at the head of the building. But something seemed off. He was slouching toward the edge, and his face looked rather sad. What was the meaning behind this?
"I am afraid I have some grave news," Bertram said.
Right above the bastion towers at the time was a giant screen. On the screen it was showing the results of the event.
"After carefully watching the tape in slow motion several times, I have noticed... this," Bertram said, pointing to the screen.
It showed Drenig's rock and Kiki's ball hurtling towards the weak point of the ceiling. As the video got slower and slower, the contestants watched as the rock and ball made impact on the ceiling. ...at the exact same time. No matter how slow the video was, the rock and ball hit at exactly the same time.
"Both projectiles struck the weak point identically," Bertram said. "With this in mind, I am afraid there is no winner yet."
"What do you mean?" Dustin asked.
"Well... I don't know," Bertram said. "As you could tell by the previous episodes, I am very bad at deciding ties."
"Well... why don't we split the prize?" Kiki asked.
"Yeah, I think we both deserved it," Drenig mentioned.
"Huh!?" Bertram exclaimed. "But... well..."
"Come on, there can be two winners," Kiki mentioned.
"I'm not stingy," Drenig mentioned.
"Well... alright," Bertram decided. "Ladies and gentlemon: The winner of Quarantine, or should I say WINNERS of Quarantine are... Kiki and Drenig!"
Everyone in the Quarantine area cheered for the two. ...well except Jet, but that's a given. They were each proud of both of them for all they have achieved.
"In addition," Bertram started. "I award Dustin, Riley, Wren, Stawolt, Aria, AND Lilly..."
"Ummm, to be fair, I already won two-thousand pokedollars," Lilly blurted out. "You can divide my share between the others."
"Very well," Bertram said. "Dustin, Riley, Wren, Stawolt and Aria will each receive... One thousand and two-hundred pokedollars."
More cheering ensued from the crowd of Pokemon. The excitement rose as more winners were announced.
"Now, in honor of your victory you two," Bertram started. "I award each of you... half a million pokedollars."
Bertram brought out two checks which he proceeded to write down information on. After assigning the checks, he handed them out to Kiki and Drenig, who both held their checks up high.
"I can't believe it, we both won," Kiki said happily.
"Neither can I," Drenig said. "But that was a fun game. I hope Bertram gets to do another season."
"Why? We won't be part of it," Kiki stated.
"No, but I bet Bertram can learn from this show to make an even better second season," Drenig mentioned.
"Hmmm... That WOULD be fun to see," Kiki agreed.
"Ladies and gentlemon," Bertram started. "One more round of applause for the winners!"
The cheering grew to it's loudest yet as they watched Kiki and Drenig proudly display their winnings in the air. Meanwhile, Bertram turned to the back and walked away from the rest of the group. He was about to give off a final closing speech.
"Thank you all for watching Quarantine," Bertram said. "We hope you all enjoyed this splendid program. I'll bet you were not expecting it to end the way it did. But with Dagger Eyes behind bars, the world is safe once more. The zombie apocalypse is avoided, and Quarantine has its champions. ...But will the story end here? Or is there another story to be told? Only time will tell. ...If they decide to renew my contract of course. ...I'm not sure how well this will do. ...But anyway, I believe it has been a fun experience. As Drenig said, if there is a next season, it will hopefully be... even better than this. More creative challenges, and some new personalities to compete in those challenges. All new disasters, and all new villains. And, perhaps a new location as well. But one thing won't change, and that's the ringleader in charge of the show. And so ends the story of Quarantine. Once again I would like to thank you all for tuning in. And one last time, we say goodbye to you. ...
...
...
...For now."
-Thank you for reading Quarantine:
The Quarantine concept was derived from the Pokemon franchise and the Total Drama franchise, credit to both for their concepts. The personalities themselves are Pokemon anthros belonging to MugoUrth/BennyBunnycorn/Lasirus. For now, this is the end. A second story may be possible in the future. ...But not right now. One last time, thank you for reading.
Goodbye for now,
MugoUrth.-
