His body suspended in the air before fading.
Fading?
He couldn't die. Right?
He was immortal. Right?
Ghosts are already dead? Right?
When his body vaporized into nothing the truth hit me like a brick.

I was screaming, crying, desperate. Maybe if I'd scream enough I'd wake up. This had to be a nightmare.
"We have to go."
The voice was out of place, calm, collected. I didn't react. I screamed, the same word, over and over.
"Danny.."
Another voice, sounded choked. More in place. Still I didn't respond. I was staring, screaming towards the spot where he disappeared, as if he'd reappear. My voice broken and hoarse. Tears streaming down my face.
"Danny."
The calmer, out of place voice again. A hand grabbed my arm and tugged. I didn't budge. My voice was dying. Too rasped to scream. My eyes had long ran out of tears.
"We have to go now!"
The voice was irritated now. But I didn't want to go. I couldn't. He'd come back. He always did. He would this time. We'd just have to wait a bit longer. Right?
"Danny, the rift is collapsing. We have to go."
The soft voice was trembling, as if trying to hold cries. My mind was a mess. Rift? Collapse? Leaving? The grip on my arm was released. Two hands placed on my shoulders.
Red eyes staring into my green ones. But the wrong red eyes. They looked like his. But they weren't.
"He's gone Danny. We have to go."
The arms picked me up, bridal style. I was trashing. We couldn't go. He was lying. He had to be.
Blue eyes looked at me.
"Danny please, it's over. He – He won't come back."
Realisation fully hit me.
He was gone
Gone
Forever
Clockwork was dead
And it's all my fault
Holy cheese that was angsty. And incredibly short 'n drabbly ._.
Just a bit of info in case you find it confusing (because it is highly confusing, it's not a drabble for nothin')
Clockwork is killed by Mason (Oc)
Star and Moon (Oc's) are with them (Blue eyes = Star, Red eyes = Moon. But Danny's refering to CW's red eyes when looking at Moon. Moon is also the one picking him up)
'Rift collapsing'. Mason is also a dimension jumper, albeit a lesser one than Star. He created a small rift to fight, which collaped after he leaves.
'Vaporizing'. (Headcannon) When ghosts die they don't leave a physical body, their ectoplasm disintigrates.
The one speaking in the beginning is Mason. After that the speaking goes Moon - Star - Moon - Moon - Star - Moon - Star.
