Really, I never thought this would have 30+ chapters. I told ypu before I thought this would only take about 20 chapters. But when I write I just get carried away. You guys know what I mean? Moving on, please enjoy! :)

No. Of course the answer was no. No doubt.

She was about to open her mouth when she noticed Ian took a step forward. Golden yellow eyes became amber again as soon as his parents were behind him. Those amber eyes looked at her intently. she couldn't help but just stare back. They were like vacuum sucking her in. She couldn't take her eyes off of those fiery amber orbs. She suddenly lost her voice.

He continued to walk towards her. His hand stretched towards her as if saying 'Come with me. Join us.' That was what his actions were telling her but those eyes told her something else. Something completely different. They told her his story. She saw genuineness in them. As if he was trying to tell her that he was sorry for betraying them. They told her all the things he said and did was true. She then realized behind the genuineness he was showing there was alertness. It was like he was expecting something to happen. Like he planned something. He dipped his head a little. 'Believe me. One more time. Believe me.' His actions said.

Believe him, eh? She believed him maybe twice, thrice... She doesn't know anymore. She lost count actually. Every time he came back she always told herself that he's finally back for good and he won't ever return. It's funny how one little thing can change everything but sometimes she just didn't understand. Why does life have to be so cruel? Why did he have to return? He left them alone. He tricked them. He tricked her. He broke down that bridge of trust, not just once but countless times and now he's asking to rebuild it again? Funny guy. He thought he could get everything. When facing him, believe is not in her vocabulary anymore.

He was close now. Just a few steps and his hand would touch her. Then she did something that surprised everyone but she's more surprised by herself than everyone else. She spat at his face. That made him stop though and she's got to admit she felt better. He closed his eyes. His jaw tensed. She felt disappointment when she didn't see anger. He wiped his face and looked at her again. This time the amber orbs were gone. Gold yellow slipped back. The softness and honesty she saw a while ago was now replaced with pure iciness. His fists were clenched so was his jaw. His breathing became unstable.

She stared back at his cold eyes. She saw nothing but his body language told her his anger was rising. She couldn't help but smirk.

"Oh my. I see. The girl is finally getting her confidence. Naughty girl." Isabel said.

Vikram wrapped an arm around Isabel's waist and said. "My love, why don't we bring him in?"

"Oh yes! Whatever you say, love." Isabel replied with a smile that was unbelievably sweet but it looked so cold to Amy. Then the door at the far end of the big room opened. In came two guards and between them was a man. His head was lowered like he was tranquilized so she couldn't see his face but Amy thought he looked familiar. Then as the guards were chaining him beside her, she heard a groan come from him. That made the hair on the back of her neck stand. She knew that voice. What was he doing here? Wasn't he supposed to be with the others? No... It must not be him. She must have mistaken the man for someone else.

Another guard came in carrying a pail of cold water, Amy presumed. The two guards saluted the Kabras and went out while the other raised the pail. He splashed the water on the man and the effect, of course, was immediate. He woke up with a startle. His eyes were wide open now. She gasped. It was him.
He looked around and saw her.

"Amy!" he shouted.

Stupid Jake. Always so stubborn. She didn't reply but she caught Ian looking Jake. As soon as Jake saw Ian, he shouted and tried to break free. The usual reaction. "You! YOU! BASTARD! TRAITOR! HOW DARE YOU SHOW YOUR FACE!?"

Ian replied with a "Tch!" and turned around, walking back to his parents. She could hear Hamilton and Jake shouting at them again. Dan was unbelievably still quiet. She just looked at Ian's back. Somehow a part of her still hopes that he's still there. He's not gone. On the other hand, another part of her wanted to just hate him for everything he did to them. For everything he did to her. Why does he always do this to her? Really all he did to her was confuse her mind because she just couldn't understand him. So unpredictable and enigmatic as ever.

The he stopped walking. He turned around with a gun in hand. The shouts died down. Amy could feel her blood gushing to her ears. No, he wouldn't Ian would never... She realized this was not the Ian she knew. This was somebody else. Someone who would gladly shoot them down without hesitation. He pointed his gun at Hamilton and slowly he moved his hand. The gun was know pointing at Dan who was staring at him with swollen eyes, face passive. Then he moved the gun to Amy. She tried to read him but those golden barriers just won't let her in. She thought she was his target but he was wrong. His hand continued to move and stopped at Jake.

Then Amy realized what they were doing. Blackmail. When his hand was finally set, his finger went to the trigger. Amy's eyes widened in panic. "No...NO! Stop this!" But they ignored her. Amy was running out of options. Without thinking, she shouted. "Fine! I'll join you! Leave them alone!" No response. "NO! STOP!" Amy saw Ian's finger was about to touch the trigger when there was a gunshot. Ian stumbled over. Amy's eyes widened. She didn't understand what just happened. She ran out of words. Then it registered in her mind that Ian was not moving at all. Was he... No. Tears started to form in her eyes. No.

Clack! Clack! Clack!

"You know. It was him." A voice said out of nowhere. Amy searched the room then she saw it. There was a figure walking towards them. A gun in hand still pointing at Ian. Shadow was masking her face but she sounded young. "He placed some in her food." She continued to walk. Gun still pointed at Ian's body that was starting to glow.

"Good job, my dear." Isabel smiled.

"That's my girl." Vikram grinned.

Then the girl finally stepped into the light. The face of Natalie Kabra smiling shocked the Cahills. "Thank you, Mum, Dad."

The voice echoed inside Ian's head. That voice. Impossible. They told him she was gone. They told him they couldn't save her.

"Hello, my brother." she said.

His sight started to focus, meaning the repair was about to be complete. He groaned in response.

"I'll take that as a greeting. Did you miss me?"

He raised his head. He was greeted by the face of his sister. "Natalie..." he groaned. Without warning, she stomped on his chest. He grunted in pain as he rolled over on his stomach.

Amy winced when Natalie stomped on Ian. She didn't know how to react. All of this was just too much. Too many things going on. Too many new information and revelations. She couldn't think straight. She just stared at the scene in front of her.

Ian raised his head again. This time he saw her. Green eyes filled with panic and shock. With his heightened senses, he could see yellow along the edges of her irises. He knew the effect was wearing off. "What is it, my brother?" she said. Ian could feel that she was smirking.

"Oh always a naughty boy." Isabel commented.

They all laughed. Their laughter sent shivers down Amy's spine. She didn't get it though but the coldness that filled their laughter made her think if she really wanted to know.

Being in this position made it easy for Ian to start his plan. Though things didn't go as expected, he knew this was his only chance. He calculated the possibility of success and it wasn't very high, of course, with all the securities and intelligence they had but he knew it would work. Since he became who he is now, it's the first time he was going to rely on luck and he didn't like it but it would do.

The pain from Natalie's kick was starting to fade which was good news because he needs all the strength he could get. He was on his knees and hand now with his other hand clutched on his stomach. He knew he could reach his coat pocket without them noticing. He did. His hands landed on his phone. He pressed the only button where he had set the beginning of his plan.

Review are truly appreciated. Constructive criticisms are too ::))))
