I had to think of this part very thoroughly. I want to get this part of the story right so it took a bit of time. I just hope you guys like what I have in mind. :P

"Dan!"He felt a hand on his shoulder."Hey, Dan! Wake up!"He turned to his side, trying to ignore that voice."DAN!"Dan groaned, hoping this someone would stop disturbing him. It worked! He didn't even think that would work. He sighed. Finally, his body relaxed again as he tried to get back to sleep. Just when he's about to fall asleep, he felt a jerk and the next thing he knew was he was on the floor with a sore butt."Ow! What was that for?" Dan complained while rubbing the sleep away from his eyes.

Sinead frowned and pinched his ears, pulling him to stood up. "Hey! Hey! Stop it! Ow! What-"

"Get dressed. You have school, Danny-boy." Sinead said before letting go of Dan's ear.

"Ouch! That hurt!" Dan pouted while holding his red ear."You're not my mother!"

Sinead crossed her arms on her chest. "Well..." Dan looked at her as if challenging her. After a few seconds of taunting each other, Sinead raised her eyebrow. "Hm. Fair point."

Dan smiled. "Ha!"

"Oh, just go to school." Sinead said as she got some sandwiches and some chips out of the shopping bag she brought with her. She took out a sandwich and handed it to Dan."You can have breakfast along the way."

When she turned to look at him, his smile was gone. He shook his head. "No."

"You don't want to eat?" Sinead asked."No. Just no." Dan said with a straight face.

With that tone and expression, Sinead understood what he meant. But she can't let that happen. "Dan, you know, Amy's going to be alright..."

"No!" Dan replied.

"Dan, you need to go to school. You know you can't stay here forever. You've already missed school for almost two weeks. You need to go back."

He looked at her intensely. "I won't! I'll stay!"

"Dan, listen to me. Go. You need to. I'll stay with Amy. I'll be with her. I'll look after her while you're gone."

A new voice then joined them. "Go, Dan. We'll take care of Amy."

Dan turned and saw Jake walking in with Dan's bag slung on his shoulder. "I-" Dan tried to reason.

"Dan, it's okay. Just go." Jake held out his bag to just sighed and admitted defeat. He went out with his school bag and the sandwich on hand. Sinead rolled her eyes at Jake and he just smirked. He just patted Sinead on the shoulder before walking over to Amy's side. His heart ached as soon as he saw her sleeping face. He could feel his eyes starting to tear up. He sat on the chair beside her bed and held her hand. He brought it to his lips, hoping she would wake up to his kisses.

She's been asleep for almost five days. That's not supposed to happen. She should be up on the third day. They have been with her after the operation. They've looked after her just in case she suddenly wakes up. It's been five days and still nothing. Not a single sign. Not a single twitch. Nothing and it's doctors said her vitals are normal but they're not stupid. They know she's most probably in a coma, based on her status now. That's the most appropriate explanation for her situation. Fiske must have told the doctor not to let them know.

Though Dan doesn't know. Sinead, Hamilton, Jonah and Jake, all four of them decided not to tell the boy. It would be too much on him after what happened to them and what's happening to his and Sinead promised the other two they would look after Amy for them. Hamilton had to go back because for some reason his parents called in, angry and obviously worried about their son's whereabouts. And of course, the famous Jonah Wizard has to satisfy his fans with concerts. He left Atticus in their apartment. The kid must still be tired and he also needs to go to school. So here they were.

He doesn't know about Sinead but he already told his Dad that this is going to take a while. Luckily, his father agreed to let him stay for some more weeks. He glanced at Sinead who was making coffee. He sighed and returned his eyes to Amy. Please, Amy. Wake up. Everyone's worried. Dan's worried. We need you. I need you.

"Jake?" Sinead said softly.

He looked at Sinead. She held out the a cup of coffee to him and a sandwich on the other hand. Jake shook his head, "I don't feel like eating. Sorry."

Sinead raised an eyebrow. "God, how come people are so stubborn these days. Just a bite or take the coffee instead. It'll make you feel better."

Not wanting to argue anymore, Jake just took both the cup and the sandwich. Though he doesn't really feel like it. His appetite was just gone and the hunger doesn't bother him. He took a sip of the steaming coffee before setting it down beside the piece of bread. He felt the coffee go down his throat into his stomach. Sinead was right. It did make him feel a bit better. Maybe he could even finish the sandwich. But the moment he saw Amy, his heart fell again. He lost his appetite must have noticed.

"It's alright, you know." she could feel the tears starting to form in his eyes again.

"I don't know..."

"No, Jake, no. Don't say that." Sinead shook her held her hand tighter.

"I-I'm not sure of anything anymore..." He suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder. He was yanked to the side.

Slap!

Jake's eyes widened in surprise. He grunted as his cheek rang with pain.

"Don't you dare give up on her. Don't you dare!" Sinead said. "Let me ask you something. Do you care about her?"

"I-I..." Jake stuttered, still shocked at the sudden rise of tension in the room.

"Do you care about her or not?" Sinead nodded hastily."It doesn't matter what happened between you or what you feel about her because one thing's for sure. We are all her friends. We are all her family. And as her family and friends, we should never give upon her. We should hope for something else. Something better. Do you hear me?"

Jake, now wide-eyed, just nodded. Then they both fell silent. An air of awkwardness between them. Both of them were staring at each other yet they're also staring at nothing. After a few more seconds, Sinead snapped back to reality then she sighed. Jake looked at her questioningly.

"Uh... Sorry..." Sinead said shyly.

"No, no. It's okay. I totally understand and you're right. I shouldn't give up on her." Jake sighed again.

"Well, there's something I need to do. I just needed to ask Dan to go to school that's why I dropped by."

"Yeah sure."

"Pretty sure you can handle her. I'll come by again tomorrow so that we can change shifts."

Jake waved his hand. "Sure."

Sinead smiled then waved goodbye. Jake waved back. After Sinead left, the tension in the room started to fade and Jake was able to relax more. Though after Sinead's rant, he's got to admit he felt different. Hours passed by Jake with the company of an empty paper cup and crumpled sandwich wrapper.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

Jake looked up from the couch and saw a young man at the door. "Yes?"

"Good evening, sir. I'm just going to get your dinner tray." the young man replied.

"Go ahead." Jake gestured towards the table before returning his attention to the TV screen. He saw the man glancing at the screen and shaking his head before going out of the room. Jake just rolled his eyes. What's wrong with watching Disney? It's just as entertaining as any other channel. Well, maybe it depends on the situation.

He checked on Amy once again but he got no response. Again. He sighed. He sat back down and continued a few more hours of alternately checking on Amy and watching boring TV shows, he finally stifled a yawn. He looked at his watch. 11:45. He turned the TV off and stretched his body. "Ugh!" He started to prepare to sleep.

He took one last look at Amy. He stayed a bit longer remaining hopeful for a sign. Few minutes passed and Jake just closed his eyes in defeat. He placed a light kiss on her forehead. "Goodnight, Amy." he whispered. He knew she heard that. He believed she did. He sighed again before laying down on the couch and finally drifting to sleep.

Just as the sky was starting to brighten, a man appeared by the door. The man was struggling between entering the room or not. In the end, he decided not to. Not now. Maybe he'll do something first. Maybe he should find Fiske first and tell him about the mission. He quietly turned around and made his way to the elevator. There were only a few people in the compound. They probably didn't recognize the man or thought he looked familiar. But all they knew was the man had golden-yellow eyes and that was enough. Enough for them to know that Ian Kabra was back.
