It was six o'clock in the morning and Piltover was already alive and bustling with movement. The people, with seemingly unquenchable thirst for knowledge, were eagerly walking towards their workplace to resume on whatever they were working on the day before.
A certain scout was also wide awake and ready to start his day. Teemo was so used at waking up early that he didn't need an alarm clock. When the clock hit six, the scout's eyes automatically open.
Standing up and slightly stretching, Teemo observed his still sleeping companions. After finding some pillows and blankets, the trio positioned themselves on the rug with Teemo being in the middle, Tristana on the left side, and Bixby on the right. Right now Bixby is sleeping on his side, hugging the pillow, and drooling extensively on it. Tristana - on her back, arms and legs splayed in every direction, her hair a complete mess, and sometimes letting out a light snore. The scout somehow managed to hold back a giggle after witnessing such an 'adorable' scene. With stealthy steps, Teemo went to the other room.
After washing up and putting on some fresh clothes, Teemo decided to prepare a quick snack for everybody.
After cleaning up the table and throwing away some half eaten sandwiches that were already growing mushrooms on them, Teemo preceded to pour water into the tea kettle. While the water was heating up, he opened up the fridge to see what kind of leftover food Ziggs had. Inside, the scout found a half-eaten lasagna, five slices of pizza, little bit of bread, a carton of milk, and what appeared to be three snowballs. At a closer inspection the snowballs turned out to be white bombs with a sticky note on them saying "Ice Bombs - still needs testing, don't take out of the fridge; unless you get attacked by Brand or something. Pro tip: when throwing - be sure to use an ice pun for more effect."
Letting out a low laugh, Teemo took out all the junk food and in no time everything was heated up and ready for consuming.
Just as he was done pouring water into the mugs, Teemo heard a loud yawn behind him. Turning he saw Bixby, only in his underwear, rubbing his eye and scratching his behind.
"Mornin'..." Plopping on a box, the sniper pulled himself closer to the table, examining the food. "Look at all these goodies!"
"You could have at least put something on, you know." Slightly shaking his head, Teemo put two coffee mugs on the table - one for Tristana, and one for Bixby. He never drank coffee himself, preferring tea instead, and luckily amidst all the coffee that Ziggs had, Teemo found some green tea hidden somewhere in the back.
After taking a long, satisfying sip of the coffee, the sniper grabbed a slice of pizza. "What? Afraid Trist is going to pay more attention to me instead of you?" Chuckling, Bixby took a bite of the pizza.
Rolling his eyes, Teemo turned to get his cup of tea. As soon as he took it he heard another loud yawn, this time a feminine one. Turning back he saw Tristana mumbling something under her breath, and slowly rubbing her eyes trying to somehow wake up. Being a tomboy, Tristana had no problem walking around in what she sleeps - that being a small, green tank top and matching boxer shorts. Of course the scout averted his eyes, as opposed to Bixby who was eyeing the girl up and down with a grin.
"Morning, princess. Did we wake you up?"
"Bite me..." Tristana groggily replied sitting down on a box and greedily drank her coffee. After doing so, she raised her mug and gave Teemo a wide smile in a way of saying 'Thank you.' The scout returned the smile and finally took a sip of his tea.
The trio continued to eat mostly in silence, occasionally cracking a joke or two. That is, until Tristana and Bixby started wolfing down their food faster that you could say 'Demacia'. Teemo had to pause and look at the two to understand what came over them.
After finishing drinking her coffee, Tristana slammed down the mug on the table and stood up in triumph. "Shower's mine!"
"Damn it!"
With an amused laugh Teemo resumed eating, with Bixby now slowly drinking out of his mug in defeat, and observing Tristana who left to the other room to get towels.
Reemerging from the room with some fresh clothes and towels in hand, the girl headed to the bathroom. "I'll try not to take long. No promises though."
"Uh-huh." droned Bixby, shamelessly staring at Tristana's slightly swaying hips.
From the corner of his eye, Teemo could tell that the sniper was eyeballing Tristana, and it irked him ever so slightly. Even though the scout always kept his emotions to himself, something really hit a nerve this time as an unintentional, low growl managed to escape his throat.
Bixby heard the growl, but decided to play dumb and waited until the girl entered the bathroom and closed the door. When he heard the shower running, the sniper put aside his mug and looked at the scout with a mocking grin.
"So, Captain. Why haven't you asked her out yet?"
He knew Teemo was a little taken aback by the sudden question because there was a pause in the scout's movements.
"I mean really. It's obvious you have a thing for her."
Teemo continued eating, opting to remain silent like usual.
"I may not know you all too well, but I can see it by the way you act around her that you've reached the 'Being just best friends in not enough' line. So what's stopping you from taking it a step further?"
Teemo tried to ignore Bixby and his pestering, but at the same time - he asked himself the same question.
"Don't tell me that you are just scared. You are probably the most insanely fearless yordle I know. You charge at enemies five times bigger than you without even blinking, and yet you don't have the guts to ask a girl out?"
Bixby crossed his arms looking at Teemo who finished eating and just looked at his dirty plate.
"Jump through the fire, charge head-on, make a move - don't wait until she completely looses interest in you. If things go tits up, well... Best case scenario you'll be friends with benefits."
Teemo only grunted at that.
"Yes, yes I know 'Sex is the only thing on my mind', and I whole heartedly confess that I wanted to get her in bed the moment I saw Trist. Approached her once, she 'politely declined', haven't bothered her about that since. I found that having her as a friendly rival is more fun than a one night stand."
Teemo at times wished that he was as open and confident as Bixby. Not to say that the scout wasn't confident - he wasn't good in the whole 'relationship' department.
"You know, my dear ol' grandpa once told me: 'If her smile makes you happier than seeing her naked - that means she's the one'. Looking at you, thats exactly the case."
As soon as Bixby finished his sentence, both yordles heard the shower being turned off. Lightly punching Teemo in the arm the sniper stood up and headed to the room to get clothes and towels. Teemo in the meantime put all the dirty dishes into the sink and while Bixby was rummaging in his own bags, sneaked past him to the balcony. Once there Teemo sat down crossing his legs and closing his eyes. It was no forest where you could truly relax your mind, but the scout did his best sorting out all his thoughts that were currently in complete disarray.
He was really deep in thought because he didn't even hear how Tristana snuck behind and poked him in the back of the head.
"What'cha thinking about there?"
Teemo opened his eyes and turned to Tristana who sat near him, mimicking the scouts sitting position.
"Oh, nothing. Just meditating a bit is all."
Tristana was wearing the same yellow short sleeved jumper as before and a pair of dark blue jeans. Her hair was done in a different style than her usual one, which surprised the scout as she rarely changed her hairstyle. Teemo couldn't help but stare, which made Tristana giggle.
"You like it? I thought I'd pretty myself up today."
"Yeah, you look very pretty today." His face reddened after he said that. "I-I mean... You always look pretty, not only today. To me at least..." He averted his eyes from his friend. "I should probably stop talking now."
Tristana had to admit that Teemo looked incredibly cute when he was all flustered. Wearing a devious grin, she leaned closer to her friend. "Oh no, please do continue."
Teemo's heart started beating like crazy as he was raking his brain for a decent reply. The moment however was suddenly interrupted by a loud scream in the other room.
"Jeez man! Put some clothes on will ya? Awesome tattoo by the way."
Teemo and Tristana went to see what all the fuss was about. When they entered the room they saw Ziggs standing near the fridge. He wasn't wearing his iconic bomber uniform instead it was simple blue pants and a button shirt. Ziggs also wasn't wearing his helmet, revealing his dark brown messy hair. His goggles were also replaced with some old school aviator sunglasses. Upon seeing his friends, the Dean lit up with excitement.
"There you two are! Nice hairdo Trist! So, ya ready to go and have some fun?"
Tristana gave Ziggs thumbs up. "You bet!"
"Aren't you supposed to be at work? It's Friday, and it's only nine."
Ziggs looked at Teemo and dismissively waved his hands. "Don't worry, I got it covered." Clapping his hands together, Ziggs turned to the door. "Now, I hope you're ready for today, because I'm gonna show ya around the city, plus all cool food joints, clubs, buildings that I nearly destroyed, and..!" The Dean's rambling was interrupted by Bixby, who was now fully clothed and ready to go.
"Whoa, whoa - calm down there, hot shot."
"Can't - drank too much coffee. So come on - let's go, go, go!" Not giving a moment to react, Ziggs pushed Bixby through the front door. Ziggs then turned and grabbed both Teemo's and Tristana's hands - pulling them out of the flat and quickly locking the door.
The weather was perfect for a walk around the city. Ziggs wasn't lying about showing his friends all the cool places in Piltover, but a single day wasn't enough to fully explore the massive city. For the next three hours the four yordles visited all the essential places with Ziggs eagerly talking about each in great detail, at times gathering attention from other people thinking he was a tour guide.
Feeling a little bit out of place, Bixby decided to leave the party and let the three friends properly catch up. After recognizing a street where some of his buddies lived, the sniper parted ways with his companions.
Even though Ziggs was disappointed at his new friend's sudden leave, he quickly returned to his energizing persona remembering that they're staying for almost a week and there's plenty of time to know the guy better.
Ziggs, Tristana, and Teemo continued their trek around the city talking about what has been going on in their lives, joking, and just having a good time. It was almost evening when Ziggs took his exhausted friends to a nice diner not far away from their staying place. The food was delicious and the trio quickly wolfed down their meals, with Ziggs telling seemingly endless stories about his adventures.
"..So then the officer opens the trunk of my vehicle and finds a dozen bombs that I forgot to take out. Ya should have seen the look on his face! Hah! Ahh... Well anyway, that's how I lost my driver's license for the second time."
Teemo and Tristana shared a laugh at the Deans crazy antics and finished their meals.
Before his friends could say anything, Ziggs pointed at a nearby building that was currently under construction and grinned. "See that? There was another building there."
"Let me guess - you destroyed the old one?" Teemo let out a smirk.
"You bet! It was for a good reason this time. Ever heard of 'Maximum Overdose: A Gunslinger's Tale in Piltover'?"
While Teemo didn't have a clue what Ziggs was talking about, Tristana nearly spat her drink out after hearing the title.
"NO WAY. That's the most controversial movie ever filmed! There was so much buzz about it, ranging from realistic torture scenes to hiring actors from Zaun and Noxus! By the description of the movie I can say that it's going to be insanely awesome no matter what people say about it. I'm dying to see it."
The hexplosive expert proudly puffed his chest and let out a confident laugh. "Well... I am the one responsible for all the special effects in the movie!" Smiling he observed his friends shocked faces.
Giggling, Ziggs eagerly continued, "The old four storey building was the final shoot out scene. It goes somthin' like this: after a long car chase the hero stops at an apartment building. Soon after all the baddies, with the corrupt cops surround him, and all hell breaks loose!"
Teemo and Tristana listened and watched as Ziggs jumped in his seat explaining all the action scenes. "I had to rig a lot of places with my hexplosives where the baddies were supposed to shoot the hero with bazookas. I got carried away a little wanting to make the explosions look as explosiony as possible... Heh. Long story short - my hexplosives easily demolished the concrete supports making the building collapse on itself!"
Ziggs made a small house out of sliced bread and re-imagined the scene. Squashing and tearing the bread house he even added his own special effects like *Boom* and *Bang*.
"I don't even know how nobody got hurt! When the building started to go down, the main dude stayed in character, ran to the nearest window and jumped out into the nearby pool from the second floor! The director never stopped filming! Even after the building collapsed and it was raining bricks and metal, the guy was running around with the camera, cackling like a maniac and filming everythin'. I'm tellin' ya that guy is mental."
After taking a long sip of his drink, Ziggs continued, "Of course, not all things went as smoothly as I hoped. A huge chunk of a wall squashed two shiny new police cruisers that the movie was blatantly advertising. The film crew wasn't mad at me for the most part, but the guys at the police force on the other hand, were pretty pissed. After suspending me from the academy for a short while, they let me continue working after appointing Matilda to be my 'baby sitter'. She's kind of a hard-ass, but she's cool when ya get her to talk."
After saying all of that, Ziggs looked at his empty glass, seemingly finally running out of things to say. Teemo chuckled and was the first one to break the short silence.
"Wow, Ziggs. Compared to our lives back in Bandle it seems you are living the dream."
Smirking, the hexplosive expert cracked a grin. "Heh, yeah. I still miss good ol' Bandle. It's much less chaotic for sure, but we surely had some wicked adventures back in the day."
All three yordles smiled to themselves remembering the simpler times when they were much younger, all five of them still working hard to achieve their dreams, and just enjoying life to the fullest. At the time everything seemed perfect.
But, perfect never lasts...
Teemo noticed that Ziggs was fidgeting with the empty glass, looking very distraught. It seemed like he wanted to say something, yet hesitated. Finally after setting aside the empty glass and quickly glancing at the window, Ziggs let out an uneasy sigh.
"Hey-um... A-any of you know how... How Rumble is doing?"
Silence followed the question as both Teemo and Tristana looked at each other briefly. Tristana crossed her arms and didn't say anything, turning her head she opted to observe the passing people outside the diner.
Ziggs's forced smile fell as he saw Tristana's indifferent expression. Teemo's neutral expression on the other hand didn't change and after scratching the back of his head he replied.
"Well... He's doing fine I guess. He is still fixing things in his garage as far as I know. I tried approaching him on several occasions, but... He either completely ignored me or 'politely' asked me to leave. Haven't seen him all that much this year."
Ziggs was only able to utter a silent "Oh..."
Before any of them could say anything the waitress came over to their table and told them that the diner is going to close soon. The three looked around and noticed that they were indeed the only ones left. Letting out a laugh Ziggs pulled out his wallet and despite his friends' protests paid for the entire thing they ordered.
The sun has already settled so after the trio exited the diner; they took a short, mostly silence filled walk in the neon light filled streets. Stopping at a bus stop Ziggs turned to his companions giving them his trademark smile.
"Well! This is the place where I'll have to leave ya. Your building is not far away from here. Just go to that mall over there and turn left - can't miss it. I still haveta go to the academy and re-check everything for tomorrow's show. Even thought I double checked everything and showed Matilda that everything is fine and dandy - I still need to be sure! I want everything to be perfect!"
Tristana smiled at Ziggs and gave him a quick hug. "I can't wait to see your light show!"
The Dean returned the hug and quickly apologized. "Hey, sorry for... You know..."
The girl waved her hand in dismissal. "It's nothing. I haven't seen nor talked to him in a very long time so... Don't have anything to say really."
Nodding his head in understanding, Ziggs turned to Teemo and shook his hand. Not long after the bus came and the Dean jumped in. As the bus started to ride off, Ziggs stuck out his head from an opened window and waved.
"See ya tomorrow guys!"
After the bus disappeared around the corner the pair slowly started to walk towards their apartment building.
As they walked Teemo noticed that Tristana seemed rather gloomy after they parted with Ziggs. The question about Rumble surely must have stirred some unwanted memories. The one thing that the scout couldn't stand was seeing Tristana sad. It tore him apart and he always tried to cheer her up in any way he could. While the duo was waiting for the red light to change, Teemo looked around trying to think of something to say to somehow brighten Tristana's mood. Coming up with nothing, the two continued walking in silence, but just as they were about to turn the corner the scout noticed a park that was not far away. Thinking on the spot Teemo turned to his gloomy friend.
"Hey, Trist?"
"Huh?" The girl finally snapped out of her thoughts and looked back at Teemo. "Sorry, you said something?"
The scout smiled at her. "I was going to ask if you would like to go to the park."
"Oh?" Tristana looked at where Teemo was pointing noticing the park. Thinking for a moment the girl cracked a small smile. "Yeah, sure! I don't feel like going home yet anyway."
Smiling at his little victory the scout led the way as the two went towards the park. Once there they were surprised at what was behind the tall gates.
The park was quite large with various exotic looking plants, trees, and small ponds. Fancy statues and fountains were almost on every corner giving the park a very unique look and feel. Since it was already dark, dozens of lights carefully put in precise places were illuminating the park giving it an 'out of this world' appearance.
For a while, Teemo and Tristana were walking around in awe, gazing at the various architecture and flowers. Tristana wasn't surprised (but still amazed) when Teemo recognized almost every plant there was in the park. 'To create the perfect healing potions or poisons – you must know every plant there is' – the scout said when the girl jokingly teased about his uncanny knowledge.
Continuing their walk, they soon found themselves walking to an area which, to their surprise, turned out to be a small theme park. There were no roller coasters or anything big like that - just a single Ferris wheel surrounded by many booths that held various games, and food booths. Since the park was made for both humans and yordles there were plenty fun thing to do for both parties. Right now though it seems only yordles were occupying the park. Since it was Friday there were mostly couples, and a handful of kids running around booth to booth, laughing and trying to win something.
The scenery made Teemo feel genuinely happy. It made him even happier because Tristana was no longer in her gloomy state and was enjoying herself.
"Well since we are here – you think we should play some games?" The smiling girl quipped.
Teemo didn't know what was it about her bright smile that made his stomach feel that it was full of butterflies. Letting out a small laugh the scout grinned. "Of course! Got any ideas?"
Snickering, the girl took Teemo by the hand and guided him to a booth that said 'Shooting gallery'.
"I suspected it."
Tristana let go of his hand and turned to him, letting out a laugh. "Yeah, I know – I'm too obvious aren't I? I just wanna shoot something."
Sharing a laugh the duo entered the shooting gallery. There they were approached by a middle aged yordle with an eye patch, who eagerly welcomed them.
"Welcome! Welcome! So what will it be? Just shoot things on random or you going to try winning some prizes for your lady?" Smiling, the yordle observed the two giving Teemo a knowing grin.
The scout could feel his cheeks heating up, but before he could muster anything Tristana responded. "We were actually thinking like a versus match – 'who gets the most points' type of thing."
The yordle raised his eyebrow in amusement. "Aaah. So you're the competitive type. Alright, alright that can be arranged." The eye patched yordle went behind the counter and after pressing some buttons all targets, big and small, started moving around on the shooting range repositioning themselves. Teemo and Tristana slowly walked up to their spots, seeing a total of sixty targets. The yordle handed the duo simple air pistols. Grinning, Tristana started effortlessly twirling the pistol, while Teemo just observed his gun and aimed down the sights.
Teemo didn't like guns. They were just too 'messy' to him – if that makes any sense. Not to say that he didn't know how to use them: he taught himself at first just to know how to handle them, but later on Tristana personally trained him how to properly use them.
"So, I'm guessing you two know how to handle guns? Then the rules are simple: the one who shoots down the most targets – wins. Thanks to this nifty computer I'll be able to easily keep the score."
"Alright!" Tristana eagerly readied herself.
Letting out a sigh and fully concentrating on the targets, the scout readied himself as well.
"Ready? Aim. FIRE!"
The duo fired away hitting every target with incredible accuracy. The middle aged yordle was astonished how fast the duel ended, and even more amazed when he looked at the results. "Wow… Now those two are really something!"
The eye patched yordle gave a loud clap. "30/30! It's a tie!"
Tristana gave Teemo a surprised look. "Well, looks like those lessons really paid off, eh?"
The scout chuckled lightly. "I guess you could say that."
Quickly reloading her gun Tristana gave the scout a cocky grin. "Ready for round two?"
Nodding Teemo readied himself, knowing that this time the Megling Commando wasn't going to hold back. Despite doing his best and using every trick he knew - Tristana dominated the next few matches, but Teemo didn't mind. Seeing her happy again was like a small reward for the scout.
"Somebody is buying me ice cream~" Sang the victorious yordle, playfully pulling Teemo's scarf.
The two returned the weapons to the eye-patched yordle and after he was done showering them with endless praise – the two exited the shooting gallery.
"Man, you certainly improved your aim! I'm so proud of you!"
Teemo nodded back to his beaming friend. "I used up every trick you taught me actually. It wasn't enough though."
Tristana let out a soft giggle. "Well, maybe I did go a little overboard with the shooting - I just got into 'The Zone' I guess."
Sharing a laugh Teemo and Tristana walked up to a snack bar and like the scout promised he bought Tristana some ice cream. While the duo was enjoying their sweets, and having a conversation, they haven't noticed six yordle kids who were standing not far behind them.
"There she is! Go on – ask her!" A girl whispered to her friend.
"N..N-No way! I can't do it. I-I.. She..!" A boy, with bright orange fur, hastily whispered back. His cheeks were red, not to mention he was shacking like a leaf.
"Oh don't be such a baby! This is probably the only chance you'll ever get. You really wanna waste it?" A slightly taller, brown colored boy whispered back, pushing his shy friend closer to the famous Megling Commando. Not giving a chance to reply, the brown boy shoved his friend towards the snack bar. Standing near the adults, the nervous boy only managed to squeak out a muffled 'Excuse me?', but thankfully that was enough to gain attention of the duo.
"Hey there, kiddo." Tristana looked at the boy offering him a wide smile.
The fact that she actually responded and that she looked even prettier up-close, made the poor boy blush even harder and completely forget the ability to talk. Teemo couldn't stop grinning at the scene and heard the group snicker at their friend's cowardice. The girl on the other hand seemed annoyed and not long after she boldly came up to aid her friend.
"Of for the love of-! My doofus friend here admires you a lot and thinks you're cool, because you're from the League. He also wants to get your autograph, isn't that right?" The girl elbows the still stunned friend snapping him out of his daze.
"YES! I mean… yes. Y-You are like… a legend!" The boy looked down finally mustering the courage to speak clearly. "I heard so much about you, and you're so awesome on the Fields of Justice! I… I really want to be Megling Commando just like you someday, so I could protect my friends and family!"
Tristana found this whole thing both adorable and moving, it's not every day kids run up to you just to say that you are 'awesome' or that you are somebody's inspiration. Tristana knelt before the yordle and ruffled his unkempt hair. "Thanks kiddo. You're going in the right direction." The boy let out a soft giggle and finally looked up at his idol. "I never really cared about being a 'legend' – I always fought and always will fight for the people I care about. If you know that there are people who believe in you – you will overcome any obstacle, and achieve any goal. That and I also love shooting stuff."
At this point the boy's eyes were shining with boosted confidence. He finally took out a marker from his pocket and gave it to Tristana who proceeded to write something on the kid's shirt. In the meantime Teemo, who was silently observing the whole scene from his seat, was approached by the same courageous yordle girl who was wearing a huge grin and holding out a coloring book. The scout let out a laugh noticing that she opened the book on half colored mushroom.
"Can I have your autograph, Mr. Teemo?"
After fulfilling the kids' simple wishes, Teemo and Tristana observed how the excited small group of kids were running back to their parents, most probably to show and tell about the encounter with the two famous yordles. After finishing their sweets the duo slowly started to head out of the park. It was near the exit when Tristana finally spoke up.
"Thanks, Teemo."
The scout smiled back. "It's nothing. I... just don't like seeing you sad." From the corner of his eye he could see that Tristana's smile grew wider after he said that.
As the two were silently walking to the building both had a million thoughts running in their heads. One didn't really know how to express his feelings without sounding like an awkward idiot; the other was realizing that she was falling for her best friend, and falling pretty hard. Tristana's mind went into overdrive.
Teemo - a yordle who has a very shady reputation built on true facts and rumors; questionable past that he never revealed to anybody, and sketchy morals that sometimes even Tristana has trouble understanding. Despite everything listed he is the most honest, loyal, and friendliest yordle anybody could have if you get to know him better. Did Tristana care that he was rather weird? Not at all. She never considered herself normal to begin with. Always wanting to do something more daring or different than the other yordles would do - it's no wonder half of her friends were misfits.
Another thing that she thought about is that despite them sharing a lot of the same interests they were quite different. She was a loud, gun totting friendly yordle who preferred living in the city, while he was a silent, anti-social yordle who preferred stealth, and used an old blowgun as a weapon. Not to mention he practically lived in the wild.
After they started seeing each other more frequently, Tristana introduced Teemo to some of her friends and did her best socializing him a bit. For the most part it worked and the scout slowly felt more comfortable around other yordles. He still had a habit of staying silent and his circle of friends is miniscule, but yordles like Ziggs and Poppy considered him a great friend. Heck even Rumble, despite his constant negative attitude towards Teemo, considered him a friend/rival.
Teemo on the other hand showed Tristana that nature is pretty kick ass. She lost count how many times the scout surprised her by showing various jaw dropping locations hidden somewhere deep in the forest. The warm, crystal clear lake with a small waterfall; ruins of some ancient temple that they explore bit by bit; that open field in the middle of the forest with strange, but beautiful blue flowers - the list goes on. Never in her life she would have thought that somebody would make her interested is something seemingly so boring as nature. She even listened to Teemo's rambling about stars each time they were sitting on the roof of her house and gazing at the starry night sky. Though she had to admit that now she knew which direction to go just by looking at the stars, in case she ever gets seriously lost or something.
That's why Tristana held Teemo as her closest friend - their friendship brought out new and even improved sides of each other. She can't deny that over time she developed some feelings for Teemo, but Tristana always kept them in check because she wasn't entirely sure what to think of them. Another reason was that at that times constant summoning to the League and frequent missions - a relationship was the last thing on her mind. Now, when she had more free time for herself, it seems those dormant feelings reemerged. She guessed it was during the time when Teemo was constantly absent from the League matches and as she found out later even back at Bandle he was nowhere to be found - she realized just how badly she missed him. She missed going on missions with him, talking about nonsense, wrecking faces on the Fields of Justice, she missed that smile of his...
At that thought Tristana came back to her senses realizing that they were already standing near the apartments door and Teemo was fishing for the key in his pocket. After finally finding the key the scout unlocked the door. Stepping aside Teemo turned to Tristana, slightly bowing his head and announcing in a very posh voice. "Ladies first."
Tristana had to stifle a giggle as she bowed her head in return. Imitating the same posh accent she replied, "Such gentleman! Thank you good Sir."
Entering the flat the exhausted gunner took off her boots and waited for Teemo to close the door.
"I must say, my good Sir, I had a splendid evening today." Tristana continued the silly charade, "You surely know how to treat a lady when she is feeling down."
Teemo laughed in return. "I am very pleased to hear that." There was a slight pause in his movement as the scout looked at Tristana and took a deep breath."Um. I know it may seem out of the blue, but I wanted to ask you something." The scout did his best keeping his cool, but in reality his nerves were going haywire. "W-Would you like to accompany me on a more... Ah... Proper event? Like a.. a..."
Tristana's sensitive ears twitched at the very last word her friend said, but because Teemo buried his mouth into his scarf the end of the sentence got muffled.
Teemo was fiercely staring at the ground afraid to look up at Tristana. He was feeling like a damn coward right now and he hated it. Was it really so hard to ask a girl out? Well he never asked a girl out before so... Taking another deep breath, the scout finally looked up at his friend deciding that it's now or never.
"I'm asking you out on a date." He felt weird saying it, but at the same time it was like a heavy weight was lifted from his chest. "I've wanted to ask you out for a while now, but I was always afraid and.. Yeah..." The scout looked away scratching the back of his head feeling his face heating up. "Do... Do you accept my offer?"
Millions of thoughts and emotions ran thought Tristana's mind, but all she could do was just stand and grin like an idiot. At this very moment something clicked, uncertainty replaced with a new feeling that she haven't felt in a long while. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity she came closer to the scout and lightly pulled Teemo's scarf making him lean towards her until their lips met.
It wasn't much of a kiss - just a peck on the lips, but it was enough to completely surprise Teemo. His vibrant blue colored eyes were wide open, looking at the girl before him, who's cheeks were tinted deep red and wearing a huge smile.
"Yeah, sounds like a plan."
It's always nice to see new people giving a review and faving the story during the long pause and I thank you for that. Like always drop a review on what you like or dislike about the writing if you feel like it.
