Meeting Martian Manhunter 3 years ago Ghost was waiting at the abandoned apartment building once more, waiting for the Bat and Bird to come. She knew that they needed her, that Batman was injured and needed help. Moments later Robin appeared, with Superman, the Flash and Martian Manhunter. "Hello Birdy." Ghost called, swinging her legs over the edge of the building, looking down at the empty streets below. "Thought you and Batman were going to keep me a secret?" Robin looked down and sat beside her. "Well, yeah, we were, but something bad has happened. Batman's been-" "-Gravely injured, yes, I know. But why you come to me, well, that one is a mystery." Ghost pattered her other side and, without turning, asked the others to sit down. "I don't want to strain my neck looking up at you all." Superman looked slightly angry at this. "We don't have time to sit down, Batman's dying!" "Yes I know." Ghost sighed, before standing up and swiftly walking over to the big blue boy scout. "But I don't like your attitude, nor your distrust in me. I understand that you wouldn't trust a stranger, but after what Robin had told you, I thought you would be a bit more understanding." Superman scowled. He was getting talked down by a 9 year old girl. The Flash then spoke up. "Uh, can you just come with us to Bats? I mean, he is kinda dying here." Ghost sighed once more. "Yes I will come, but only once Robin has given me what I need to take us. Robin?" She held out a hand, and Robin gave her a small cloth bag. A sniff or two later and Ghost was satisfied, the bag placed in a worn, duct tape covered backpack. "Um, do I want to know what that is?" The Flash asked, already speeding over to look into the backpack. But as fast as the Flash was, Ghost was faster, turning away and placing a dagger at his throat. As soon as it brushed skin it was pulled away, the skin visible under the dirt and grime turning red. "Sorry, force of habit. And to answer your question, it is food. An assortment of vegetables to be exact." Martian Manhunter spoke up for the first time. "We must leave. Batman is dying as we speak." Ghost shook her head before walking over to the old mattress. "I'm monitoring him as we speak, and while his wounds may be fatal, we still have time. The poison is the only worrying thing though." "But I thought you said that Batman was gravely injured?" Robin stared at her with his mouth open. Despite being a year younger than the boy wonder, she still managed to act many years older. "Yes, I said that, but only because you and the statues over there said so as well." By statues she meant the Superman and Flash, who were doing very talented statue impersonations: Eyes wide, mouths open, still as stone. The alien was also being a very good statue, although he didn't show his surprise. "So, are we going?" Ghost asked, strolling over to the edge of the building. "Yeah, of course, but where are you going?" Superman asked, wondering why she was walking away from the exit. "Going to Batman of course, so I will meet you there." Robin waved as she stepped off the edge of the building, a restraining hand on Superman's arm. "But, Robin, she just fell off the building!" Superman tried to pry Robins hand off his arm without hurting him. "It's fine, she can fly!" Robin laughed at the look on the three older heroes faces before walking towards the door. "Come on, we'd better get going." The three adults snapped themselves out of it and followed the bird. They had a lot to learn. Ghost made her way quickly to Batman's side once touching down in the batcave. The poison wasn't fatal, but had to be dealt with quickly to prevent long term side effects. A series of herbs were pulled out of her backpack. Turning to Alfred, Batman's loyal butler, she asked, "Could I please borrow a knife, chopping board and some fresh thyme please?" Alfred, having a soft spot for the poor girl, nodded and ran as fast as a man of his age could to the kitchen. Robin, Superman, Flash and Martian Manhunter soon arrived at the cave, rushing over to the unconscious bat. "Ishegoingtobeokayhedoesntlookokaywhatareyoudoingforhim?" The Flash asked in speedster talk. "Please slow down Flash, and yes, he will be fine, he is simply recuperating from the effects of the poison." Ghost walked round to Batman's other side before checking his vitals. "You fixed him up that fast?" Martian Manhunter remarked, sending out probing thoughts towards her mind. He wanted to know who, or what, she was. She wasn't a normal human, that's for sure. As soon as his mind came in contact with hers, he stiffened. All he could hear was voices and music, wind and leaves. All he could see was colours and swirls, inky blackness and stark whiteness. He could see everything and nothing. All of a sudden, it was cut off, a tendril of though pulling his mind somewhere. That somewhere tuned out to be a 'room' in her mind, a place where all the sensations were dull and distant. What was that? The green Martian thought, and with that thought, an indistinct form clothed in white appeared. You saw my mind, without permission or leave, and even though it was a weaker version of my mind, so to speak, if you spent much more time in here, unrepairable damage will be done. With that, their minds began to separate, but Ghost sent him one last thought. By the way, my name is Spectre. Spectre Mistborn. Martian Manhunter came to on a bench, the concerned faces of his colleagues, and the stoic face of Batman, high above him. "He's awake!" Flash yelled, and the alien winced before slowly sitting up. Ghost, or Spectre as she was now known as, was standing next to him. "Next time, don't go entering my mind without permission." With that, she began to walk away, calling over her shoulder. "If you need any more help, just go to the same building you went to tonight. See ya!" Seconds later she was gone, leaving more questions in her wake.
