2. FIRST BATTLE
Sorry for the long update.
I was sick and the medicine makes me sleepy.
And so, here we goes with the story!
OH and the characters are not mine. vocaloids belong to crypton and yamaha but -man belong to Katsura Hoshino...
"Okay... This is... Strange..."
That's word came from our ice-lover-blue-haired protagonist in this story, eyeing the scenery around him with confused mind. After he leave Lucia's house, Kaito began walking with fast pace toward the next town, but when he see the town. Both his eyes widened.
What he sees now not a town filled with car, motorcycle, huge building, or another thing you guys known from 21th century. But what he seen in front of his eyes is rather a town like in old movies on 18th century! Filled with people in old looking clothes, horses puling wagon, people farming with old tools rather than modern one, and you know the rest and leave it to your imagination.
"Am I dreaming?" Kaito mumbled to himself, and then pinch his left cheeks. He feels the pain from it. "So this is not a dream. But If not, then where in the world am I? Am I going back to the past? If that true, then how it's happen? Or... because the sudden hole who appear out of thin air with those many creepy looking arms and then sucked me in!"
"..."
"Yeah right, and then what? A demon born because human mourned from the loss of his or her beloved dead? And some fat guy in white fancy suit and bringing a pink umbrella will bring the dead to alive?" (Author: oh Kaito... you don't know how right is that. )
"As if I am going to believe it. That just like typical shounen manga Len always read in his favorite manga."
He just focused on his own thought until his stomach interrupted with slightly loud grumble. Come to think of it, he not yet eats any food since the concert until the incident and after leaving Lucia house.
"Oh great... Now I`m hungry!" he groaned, holding his stomach with both hand. "Of course I'm hungry! It's been two days since I last eat and now I am in the middle of somewhere in Europa!"
After debating which one is important, the stomach who won't stop grumbling, or his current situation. He decided that his stomach is the winner.
"So... here i go." He said in his thought while walking to the town.
(Meanwhile with Allen and co.)
"Well..." Said Lucia Morgan, as she began thinking "Am I going to tell them about Kaito who fell from the hole? Or I just..."
"It's true that I saw a hole in the air. But it just last a few minute then it's gone. But that only what I saw." She half lied.
"I see... then sorry for interrupt your time." Allen said, apologized.
"It's okay. If I may ask, what job do you guys do in Black Order? Surely Exorcist job should be exorcism demon right? Not investigating strange thing like this? Not insulting you two of course." Lucia said, curious.
"Oh? Our job indeed exorcisms demon, but we also investigating strange phenomenon who caused by... a certain thing." Now Lenalee said.
"Certain thing?" Lucia tilted her head.
"Yes that thing is-" What Allen was about to say is interupted when his left eye suddenly turned black with red ringed pattern and have a sort of cogwheel monocle. "AKUMA!"
"Wha-! What happened to your left eyes! And what is akuma?"
"Sorry! But we have to go now! Where the akuma Allen-kun?" said Lenalee.
"It's near the next town. Just one. But it's level three."
"Got it! Let's go!"
The exorcist then leaved from there and leaving the confused Lucia behind.
"Sigh. The past two days have been weird. Oh well. Time to read the book again."
(Back to our heroes, Kaito)
"SOMEONE TELL ME THIS IS A JOKE!" Kaito yelled loudly. Gaining a weird look from people around him.
Of course, Kaito yelled because there a reason. After he entered the town he began gaining attention from random passerby. Why? Because his clothes unusual? Check. Because his hair is blue? Sure. Because he gaping stupidly like a fish? No way! Kaito still have image to maintain, after all. Sadly, the part of gaping like a fish were true. He asking people around about what year now, and the person he asked give him are you living under a rock?-look.
And lo and behold, because the truth was revealed, now Kaito yelled out from his lung, both his hand shuffle his blue haired head.
" #$%^&*&^%$%^&" And don't forget the cursing part.
There's a random kid with his mother who pointing his finger at Kaito and said "Mommy look, that fancy looking guy just said something funny!" "Hush! Let leave him be." Said the mother as she and her son leaving.
A few minute passed and he began calming himself down.
"Okay Kaito... just calm... and relax..." then an image of Miku smiling and all of his vocaloid friends flashed in his mind.
"HOW I CAN CALM AT SITUATION LIKE THIS! I AM TWO AND HALF HUNDRED YEARS IN THE PAST FOR ICE CREAM SAKE!" He shouted to no one.
"How I'am supposed to do? What everyone doing now? Is everyone searching me? Is Miku crying? And more importantly, how am I going back to my own time? How-"
"KYAAAAA!"
His train of thought stopped when he heard that scream, and noticing people around him began running away from him.
"Huh? What happened?" he asked, but nobody answered. They're busy screaming and running for his/her life.
Then his answer came out when his battle(?) instinct screamed to dodge. Of course being human who have superpower he is, Kaito dodge to his right side. And sure enough, after he dodge to the side, there a large purple explosion on the place where he stood before, sending debris and dirt to all over the place.
"Well, well. Look what we have this time." Said an inhuman voice.
Kaito turned his head to the source of that menacing voice. His blood running cold when he see the owner of the voice. It's figure is bipedal, roughly 8 to 9 feet tall, with sharp jagged teeth, and wear what looks like medieval armor that covers most of their bodies, it's head wear a mask with two long horn on each side that resembling deer horn. And it's flying.
"What in the world...?" Kaito just stood there, staring at the figure with slight fear look clear in his expression.
"Khu khu khu... hehehehe... HAHAHAHAHA!" the creature begin laugh like a maniac. "That's right! Show more of your fear expression! I will enjoyed it when I kill you! HAHAHAHAHA!"
Kaito knew this being is dangerous. He knew this being can kill him in a single second. But if that happen, he will fight this monster. He will not go down without a fight! He still have something to do! He still have to go back to his own time to reunited with his fellow vocaloid friend! However, Kaito Shion is not a normal person, he have ice manipulating power to fight whatever this creature is! His power can generate substantial quantities of ice from the surrounding atmosphere and then subsequently manipulate this frigid substance into seemingly whatever form he chooses, almost immediately after the ice's initial production. In this manner he is able to quickly form a great variety of ice structures that are suitable for a diverse range of purposes, no matter if the nature of these circumstances demand offensive or defensive uses. However, all the objects that he fabricates share one similar trait in that they freeze almost any surface they may come into contact with, covering it in a thick layer of ice that remains for extended periods. This also includes the immediate environment but rather than hamper Kaito, this aspect actually serves to benefit him, as the frozen climate supports and increases the advantageous features of any latter techniques, while disadvantaging his opponent further as they suffer from the harmful effects of the sub-zero conditions.
"Hm?" it's noticing the change expression of Kaito from fear to determined. "Huh? What's with that look? Are you going to fight me? You just a lowly human who brave or stupid enough to challenge me!"
Kaito not answering the question, rather he slowly stood from the ground, dusting his white coat. He then remove the white gloves from both of his hand, showing a light blue cross mark at back of his two hands with crystal bracelet on each wrist.
"Huh? What are you going to do?" the creature suddenly interested in what Kaito was going to do.
Ignoring it again, Kaito begin concentrate on his imagination to form some sort of a weapon to manifest on his hand. Stretched out both his arms to the front, the crystal bracelet began glowing blue, but not too bright. When the glowing blue light died down, revealing some sort of gun who made of ice in each Kaito hand.
This Ice Guns, Is the result of manifestation Kaito's preferred powers, most likely due to the training of his past as "experiment subject", takes the form of a pair of small pistols. These guns are capable of firing bullets that can cover their intended target in a layer of thick ice, suitably restraining their movements for subsequent attacks. When the temperature of the immediate environment decreases enough, the bullets fired from these "ice guns" become able enough to freeze huge areas in even denser ice with each individual shot.
"What the!?"
Take the surprise of the enemy he faces as his cue, Kaito fired multiple bullets made of ice from his Ice Guns to the creature. But unfortunately, because lack of experience or the creature just to skilled, the bullets missing it target by two inch when the creature tried to dodge it, thus making the bullet penetrated the wall of a building behind the creature. But the most surprising thing is, from the tiny bullet is not only penetrate the wall, but make the whole four story building from the bullet hole on the wall covered in ice in fast pace and made the building look like made from ice!
The creature looked at the damage and was surprised at the power of those ice guns, or rather the effect of those ice bullets. Then turned it's to look at Kaito and say "Are you... an exorcist!?"
"Huh? What do you mean? Do i look like a priest to you?" This time Kaito answer the question, with a question.
"Don't try to fool me! You just create guns made of ice! And the damage caused by those bullets is like that!" it's pointed one at its claw at the now ice building. "That's not normal even for normal exorcist like you! Unless..."
Then the creature makes a gasping sound.
"Unless you're one of the general!" it's said. Now sounding afraid.
"Again with the exorcist term? And general? Really, what do you mean by that?" Kaito said confused. But still pointed his ice gun to the creature.
Ignoring Kaito question, but mumbled loud enought to hear "But, why Earl-sama never said anything about general level exorcist who have gun made of ice before? And shouldn't be the general the one who have gun type innocence is Cross Marian?"
"Earl? Innocence? Okay, I am really lost it. Who Cross Marian?"
"Eh? Are you really not knowing anything? Or you just dumb enough for a exorcist general ?"
"Hey! Don't call me dumb!" Kaito shouted. Firing a bullet of ice, but again, the creature just dodged and the bullet when flying past its head.
"Then... Are you... Know Black Order or know me, the akuma itself?"
The blunette just shook his head.
"hehehehe... HAHAHAHAHA!" The now identified as akuma is no longer afraid and laughing insanely.
"What are you laughing about?" Kaito can't help but asked as his battle sense is scraming danger.
"An Innocence accommodator who know nothing about exorcist and Black Order but know how to use his power? Now this is interesting!"
"Then what are you going to do?"
"KILL YOU OF COURSE! HAHAHAHA!" as the akuma said that it launched itself with its claw lifted upward with intent to slash toward Kaito.
Kaito leaped back but not fast enough as the akuma claw slashed his left sleeves.
"It's fast!" Kaito thought surprised.
But the akuma attack not stopped yet. Its claw suddenly glowed in purple aura then covered its entire right arms. And with fast pace, slashed again toward Kaito chest. Caught by sudden surprised, He didn't have time to dodge and the attack connected to his chest thus make him screamed in pain.
The akuma not give Kaito opportunity to fight back, give him a powerful kick to his stomach and sending him flying toward wall of a building then crashed with a loud voice.
"Is that all your ability? Heh, Boooorrriiiiing!" the akuma said with a bored tone.
It was about to leave when a barrage of ice bullet coming toward the akuma with lightning speed. With its ability to explode a small solid object. The akuma create a purple aura that suround him that protecting it thus making small object like bullet when hit it making it explode with big purple smoke.
Fortunately, that's making a chance for Kaito to escape from the battle. When the smoke cleared, the akuma only see an empty place on where Kaito was crashed to a wall. Leaving only trails of dropped blood
"Heh, running away are we? But you cannot escape from me." The akuma then began folowing the trails of Kaito's blood towards wherever he is.
(With Kaito)
"That akuma being is strong and fast... and that purple aura... it can make something explode whatever It touched." His running pace beginning to slowed down. "Fortunately,I could run away to a nearby alley when the bullets explode." The ice gun on his right hand already dismissed. And now his hand clutching his chest where the wound is located. The once normal blue shirt he wear now red because of the blood. He then stopped, concentrating to freezing his wound so the blood does not come out.
"Damn! I lost too much blood!" he though grimly. His visions begin to get blurry. His breathing becoming fast. He leaned his shoulder against the wall "Come on Kaito! Hold on! Don't faint in here!"
"Suuuuurrprrriiiiseeeee!"
"Huh?"
*STAB*
"AAARGH!" he screamed. Caught by surprise when the akuma stabbed his back with its pointy and sharp claws.
"Khe khe khe..." the akuma just chuckled darkly as It pull back its claws while dodging an ice gun which Kaito swing to the akuma face.
"You're the persistent one are you? Khe khe khe..."
"Just... why are you... attacking me?" Kaito asked, barely keeping his consciousness.
"To kill you of course."
"But why?"
"Because you are an innocence accommodator that's why." The akuma slashed at Kaito again but its claw blocked by his ice gun.
"Then... what is... this innocence... You're talking about?" he asked as he struggled against tremendous power that that akuma have.
"For the one who will die, you're ask questions to much. Or you just stalling your time?" as the akuma said that, it began pushed its claw harder. The ice gun whose Kaito held now slightly cracked because the power and the sharpness of the claw.
When the ice gun broke, Kaito jumped back, avoiding the claw that were nearly sliced his chest again. Creating another two ice guns is easy, but because the injury he can't concentrate to make one, and now he weaponless.
"Now that you not have any weapon, killing you would be easy!" the akuma again began gathering purple aura on its claw, preparing the slashing attack. Then lunged at Kaito.
Time becomes like slowed down for Kaito part.
"Is this the end..." he thinking as he closed both his eyes. Die in the past while fighting a being that calling itself an akuma. Unable to come back to his own time and reunited with his friend and his beloved Miku. An image of Miku smiling come to his mind, and all of his friend smilling at them. Then an image of short blue haired girl filled his mind.
"Kaiko-nee... Its seems I going to the afterlife now... and I am sorry Miku... I can't keep my promise to you..."
Then it came. The sound of person which he never heard of, screamed from his mind.
"NO! YOU CAN'T DIE!"
"Huh!?"
(With the exorcist )
When our two exorcists arrive on the scene, they stared with wide eyes at place before their very eyes. The place two of them now standing is in front of an alley, but it can said it a cave, which made from very thick ice. The wall... no... Even the building and area around it was covered by ice.
"...What happened in here?" said the white haired exorcist.
"I don't know Allen-kun. Is this the work of that level 3 akuma?" asked Lenalee to her companion.
Allen shook his head. "No, it's not... but the akuma is gone."
"Huh? What do you mean it's gone? Is it just leaving after freeze the entire alley?"
"No Lenalee... the akuma is really gone. If the akuma leaving, i can sense the akuma because my left eye. But now It gone. Like It have been destroyed and... Purified."
"But, How? There's no other exorcist except us in this town?"
"Let's just go in there and check it."
"Okay." Lenalee said as the two of them walking to the ice made cave.
The inside of the cave just same from outside except colder. When they going further in, the air becoming much more colder. Like they close to the source.
"Says Allen-kun. What do you think the cause of this freeze place?"
"Who knows? But clearly it's not made by the akuma."
"Or it is because of innocence?"
"There are possibilities. If that true then we must- Hey! There's someone ahead!" Allen said noticing a certain blue haired male lying on the ice ground, not moving.
"What!?" Lenalee then move her attention forward. "Let's go Allen-kun! He might be hurt!"
"Right!"
The two of them then hurried toward where the blue haired teen who collapsed.
"Allen-kun! He has been injured!" said Lenalee. Noticing the large gash on the blue haired teen chest. She then checking his pulse. "His pulse is weak! We must take him to nearest hospital!"
But Allen said nothing as he examines the back of the unconscious teen's hand. Then he took off the glove of his left hand and staring at the back of his left hand. There, he stares at the dark green cross mark on his hand, then look at the back of Kaito's back hand. He found the shape is similar to his own. But instead of dark green, it color was light blue. and there also a blue sheathed sword near by the uncocious blue haired teen. Then Allen know what is it.
"Innocence..." he muttered.
"Huh?"
"Lenalee... he is accommodator of innocence..."
"What are you saying? There's no-"
"Look at the back of his hands... and the crystal bracelet, also that sword." Allen cut her of softly.
When she looked. She makes a gasping sound. Her eyes wide. "Then, the cause of this ice phonomenon is..."
"There's no mistaking it. He is the one who created this ice cave." Said Allen. "We must bring him to Black Order."
