3. MY POWER...
(Earlier, with Kaito )
"NO! YOU CAN'T DIE!"
"Huh!?"
Then, a sudden burst of light with blue aura emerged from Kaito's body, blasting the akuma slightly. The aura is cold, much colder than the ice he usually uses in the previous fight againts the akuma. The temperature also dropping to below zero degrees Celsius. Making his surrounding becomes freeze suddenly. The blue aura flaring rapidly, like protecting its master from the enemy in front of it, thus making the akuma cancelled its attack and crossing its arm to shielding its body. The wind pressure also makes the akuma to back away a few steps while freezing the entire alley.
"What the-!" said the akuma, shocked.
With a blast of wind the blue aura died down, revealing a standing Kaito with both his eyes closed, his appearance changed, he wearing a uniform look alike with a black turtleneck and leggings under a white Japanese-style garment, white gloves, military boots, and a "jolting sapphire" colored jacket with a red lining and very long, detached sleeves ( Note: if you wondered, he wore uniform that resemble Jin Kisaragi's NOL uniform appearance from Blazblue). His hair same as before, except now there are silver streak which is located on the left side of his bangs.
He slowly opened his eyes but his iris not blue like before, his iris now changed from blue to blood red color, and his pupil now become cat-like. Then he stared at the akuma in front of him emotionlessly. His expression blank like a newly created puppet. His look not showing any expression to his enemy, like it's just not standing before him.
The akuma just stared dumbly at the newly transformed Kaito. Its mind still processing what had just happened. Pointed his hand at still unmoving Kaito, it shouted "What did you just do!? How do you do that!?"
"..." Kaito didn't answer.
"...Not answering eh? Che! Whatever your power is! I still will kill you!" it lunged at Kaito again with faster speed. This time with both claw covered in dark purple-ish aura.
When the attack about to be connected, Kaito just side stepped it, letting it passing through. But the akuma not done attacking yet. It then slashing horizontally, only meet a thin air where Kaito standing before, realized that Kaito disappeared it began look around, it then about looked behind, only its face meet with a straight forward punch, courtesy by emotionless Kaito.
The power of the punch make the akuma flying nearly five meters then crashed to the street that covered by ice. For the emotionless Kaito, it's nothing much, but for the akuma part, that punch greatly insulted it pride. When it began standing up again albeit staggering slightly. It realized that the teen in front of it is not the same teen it fight before.
"Who are you?" it demanded.
Kaito just answered with silence.
"Again with the silence! That really pissed me off! Whoever you are I'm going to kill you because you just insulted me with that punch!" The akuma shouted, preparing its claws in a position to attack. "No one ever punch me and coming out alive!"
It began attacking again with slashing its claw with faster speed than before. However slash-by-slash, Kaito managed to dodge all of its attack.
"Stand still would you!" it roared, growing angrier and angrier by each swing of its claw.
"Threat level is low... Begin countermeasure attack with low technique..." Kaito suddenly said.
"Wha-!? Arrrrrgh!" what it want said was cut off when the akuma was sent crashing to the nearest ice-made-wall with a roundhouse kick from Kaito.
"The enemy is down... Beginning the creation of weapon for self-defense..." Kaito said robotically as he created a spear composed entirely from a single fragment of dense ice.
After recovered, the akuma then lunged at Kaito again and began slashing wildly at him, with fast movement Kaito parried the attack with his ice spear.
When Kaito managed get the upper hand with his spear, Kaito suddenly coughed an amount of blood from his mouth. That little distraction cause the akuma managed to slashing him on his chest twice, make him stumble slighly, as if adding insult to the injury, the akuma kicked him in the chest but not powerful enough to make him flying, he just skidded a ten meters behind.
"Hah! Not so tough now aren't you?" it mocked at him
Kaito just stared at his newly made wound on his chest, his injury which he freeze also opened again because of that kick.
"The damage received to the body is sixty-eight percent... Immediately raises the threat to medium..." he dissipated the spear that he made and then speak again. "Preparing to summon the primary weapon..."
He raised his right hand to the side and gathering ice-like particle from the surrounding. Then from the ground emerge a stalagmite made from dense ice and there something that long and standing inside it. Then he twisted his body in a circular motion. When his right hand touched the ice stalagmite, it break into tiny pieces of ice, revealing a Japanese sword with blue sheath and the hilt tightly locked by screw locks on the sides of the hilt. The braid on the handle colored green while the peg is white. Before the sword touch the ground, Kaito's right hand grabbed the handle of the Japanese sword while his left hand grabbed the sheath. The position of the handle which his right hand holding is in the above of the sheath while his left hand position in the middle of the sheath.
"Began activating the sword-type innocence in unsheathed mode..." and with that said, he began to pull out the sword from its sheath. The blade itself is pure white like snow and giving cold air around it when unsheathed.
"Innocence, Mucro Algesco: Yukianesa (Ice Sword: Snow Woman)... activated." He declared with the same toneless sound.
With the sword on his right hand, now it's his turn to do the offensive move. With one vertical arc slashing motion, it generates and launched a snow-like crescent moon shaped beam toward the unsuspecting akuma. The beam then sliced the akuma entire left arm, making it cut off from the main body.
"AAAAAARRGGGGGHH!" The akuma screamed in pain. Then clutching his left shoulder while the wound freezed because the effect of the snow beam attack. The beam attack itself not only sharp but also cold enough so that it can freezed anyting whatever it slice.
"YOU WILL PAY FOR THAT!" The akuma roared with it inhuman voice.
It flying toward Kaito with unimaginable speed. For normal human eyes, it look like it disappear, but not for Kaito. He can see it clearly, because of whatever being who possesing him now.
"Execute a counterattack skill..." he said as he raised his sword forward and begin half inserting his sword into its sheath.
"Muei Mukyo(No Shadow No Echo)..." with clanging sound, the sword entering its sheath fully.
"Kokujin(Empty Air Array)..." He prepared a standing position that it looks like he will slash his opponet with his sword on his side as the akuma coming close. As the akuma nearly ten centimeter close from him, he opened his sword slightly.
"Yukikaze(Snowy Wind)." He disappear from sight then re-appeared again behind the akuma with his sword unsheathed. When he sheathed his sword again second later, a tornado made of snow and many ice fragments confine the akuma inside it and make the whole alley covered in a dense ice thus making it look like an ice cave.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!..." its scream echoed the whole ice-made cave.
After the tornado died down ten second later, it gone, the akuma is no longer there. His first battle finally ended with his victory.
"The enemy is already defeated... Proceeding with slumbering state until the injury healed..." as he said that, he begin deactivate his innocence. Making him undo the transformation and his old attire come back.
A second later he fell face first to the ground. Unconscious. His sword also fell from his grip.
(Back to the Exorcist time)
"We must get toward the Ark faster! He already lost to much blood!" said Allen as he carried the unconscious blue haired teen piggy back style while running, with a running Lenalee on his front carrying the blue sheathed sword.
"There! The Ark's Gate already visible!" Lenalee shouted as they began running faster toward a very tall, very bright, very strangely shaped, door of light that descended from the sky with the numbers 47 outlined at the top.
As they entered the door of light, the scenery around them changing to a big Mediterranean city-like full of white buildings of all sorts of shapes and sizes. The sky was bright. The city seemed empty. The three of them going straight toward a door of a white building which had labeled 'HOME' attached in the door.
As soon as they entered through the door, there stood a man of average height and build. He has messy, sandy blond hair, and wearing a dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up, a waistcoat and tie, and casual dress pants. Over it all, he wears a lab coat, he has blonde hair that stands up messily. He also has a slight bit of stubble on his chin, and wears two bracelets, one on each wrist.
"Yo Allen, Lenalee! How the mi- What's happening to him!?" said the man as he noticed Allen carried someone unconscious on his back.
"Reever! We need to get him to the hospital wing immediately!" shouted Allen.
"Right." Stated the man named Reever, then leading the group towards the hospital, "Johnny! Contact the head nurse to prepare a room for him!"
"On it!" replied young man wearing shirt with black skull motive also wearing lab coat and wearing big glasses. He tied his hair in a ponytail.
Along the way to the hospital wing, they meet a tall, well-built young man with fairly light skin. He has longish, bright red hair that tends to wear up in a bandana, and green eyes; he wearing an eyepatch over his right eye, he also wears the same uniform like Allen.
"Hey guys. Who is the guy and what happened to him?" he said then helped Allen and Reever carrying the teen.
"We don't know Lavi. But what we know is that he is accommodator of innocence." Lenalee said to the red haired young man.
"Seriously!?"
"Yes, Lavi. She serious. Now here we are. Where the head nurse?" asked Allen on front of hospital room looking around.
"Make a way!" yelled an older woman dressed in a nurse's outfit behind them with few nurses. As the group entering the large room with several beds. The trio then placed the unconscious teen to the patient bed.
"You guys can go now, I want to work without interruption. Now, shoo! Shoo!" the head nurse then pushing the three of them plus Lenalee out of the room. They just stood there with silence after the door of the room closed.
"Well... I better get going to Science Department to work. See you guys later." Reever said as he going back to the direction where they come from.
"We better get going too." Said Lavi.
"To where?" asked Allen.
"To Komui's office duh."
"Oh, right. We must report to Komui after mission. Then, let's go!" he said as he began walking to where Reever headed before.
"... Allen-kun, that's not the way to nii-san(big brother) office." Lenalee said with giggle.
"Sometimes I wonder how bad your sense of direction is, Allen..." sighed Lavi.
"Hey! It's not that bad! Right...?"Allen said, Embarrassed.
(A few minute later)
"By the way, Lavi. Where's Kanda?" asked Allen as the three of them walking toward Komui's office.
"Oh, Yu already headed to Komui after we arrive from our mission to report him that the whole black Dragon in the lake thing just a hoax. Turn out that it's just an old abandoned fisherman boat."
"How they can mistake a boat to a black dragon?" questioned Lenalee.
"Maybe because of the mist and there's a dragon head decoration in the front of it? Who knows?" Answered Lavi.
"Then why you not with him to report now, and what are you doing anyway in that corridor?"
"Oh, I just search the old panda when I bumped to you guys and the injured blue haired dude."
"Bookman? Why are you searching him?" Allen asked.
"To prank him of course." He replied with a grin.
"... I shouldn't have asked..."
They opened the door of Komui's office, only greeted by the sight of an irate young Japanese man with long dark blue hair in ponytail that reached his waist and wear the same uniform like Allen and Lavi, trying to slice a person who sleeping on the desk full of paperwork with a Japanese sword, only to be holded by two scared person who wear uniform of cream-colored, hooded jackets, which are lined with zippers on the left and the right breast.
"Oi, oi, Kanda! What are you doing!?"
"Isn't obvious? Im going to cut this damn siscon to pieces with Mugen (Infinite)!" the now identified person as Yu Kanda said.
"But why are you going to make him into sushi!?" Allen said, joining the Finders to try holding him down.
"The damn siscon just won't wake up after I called him several times!"
"Then are you already said the keywords yet?" asked Lavi with a sweaddrop.
"There's no way I will said that!" Kanda shouted back.
"Sigh, fine. I will do it. Sorry Allen." Lavi said.
"Huh?" the said teen confused as he struggled holding Kanda.
Lavi then whispered to the sleeping Chinese man. "Allen is going to marry Lenalee~" after those magic words entered the Chinese man's ear and processed by his brain. He immediately standing up, with anime tears he began sobbing and shouted "My sweet little Lenalee! Why are you going to marry to that filthy octopus!"
Then he began rushed to Allen and grabbed by his collar. "Aaaallllleeeennn Waaaalllkeeerrr! How dare you going to marry my sweet innocent Lenalee!" he shaking him back and forth. "You're going to taste the wrath of sir Komurin the thirteen! And me! Muahahahahaha!"
*BONK* "Ouch!"
"Stop it nii-san! You're just embarrassing me!" said Lenalee, as she hit him on the head with the blue haired teen sword's sheath.
"But Lenalee~" Komui whined.
"Just stop shaking Allen-kun, nii-san. Or no coffee for you for a full month." Her face is red, embarrassed, imagining her to married to her secret crush.
"NOOOOOOOOOOO!" he screamed with despair look on his face.
"Shut up you damn siscon! Can we just give our damn report already!?" shouted Kanda, he finally put his sword down after Komui waking up, but his face still looks angry.
"C'mon Yu! Don't be grumpy all the time! Let's enjoy the show!" said Lavi, chuckling.
"Call me by my first name again, I'll cut your red head from your body!" Kanda threatened. His sword pointed to Lavi's neck.
"Okay, okay. Gees, you can't take a joke can't you?" Lavi complaint.
"Che... Baka Usagi (Stupid Rabid)." Uttered Kanda with his trademark word while sheathing his sword.
Komui then cleared his throat, gaining the attention from the people inside the office. "So, do all of you have something to report?" he asked. Seem like he has calming down then sat back in his chair.
"It turns out that rumour about the dragon is actually a boat in the middle of the lake full of mist. So it's fake." Lavi reported, While Kanda stood silent.
"I see. Then what about you two?" he looking at still dazed Allen and the red-faced Lenalee. He then notice the blue sheathed sword on Lenalee hands that she use to hit him. "Whose sword is that?" he asked.
"Huh? Oh! You mean this?" Lenalee said, already recovered from her fantasy while showing the sword to all of them.
"Is that his innocence? The shape almost similar to Kanda's japanese sword." Said Lavi.
"His? Then it already has accommodator?" Komui asked.
"Yes it is, maybe the powerful one too. And its accommodator also here, but he injured so we carried him to the hospital wing." Said Allen.
Kanda quirked an eyebrow." How can you be so sure Moyashi(Bean Sprout)?"
"It's Allen, seriously do you always forget my name, BaKanda(Note: Baka means Idiot in English), are you by any chance are senile?" Allen answered back.
"What do you said moyashi!" he said as he and Allen butted their forehead at the same time. "It like what I said BaKanda!"
"Quit it you two! Allen-kun, we still have a report to do." Lenalee said as she tried to composed them.
"So, care to tell me what report that you two have is?"
"Well... the hole that appeared on thin air we don't know much about it... when we asking to the eye witnessed, then..." Allen trailed off.
"Then?" Komui asked.
"Then... my left eye suddenly activated, sensing a level three akuma in the next nearby town. But when we reached the middle of the town, the akuma presence suddenly vanished."
"Vanished? Is the akuma just leaving the town?" asked Lavi. Suddenly interested.
"No. It just disappear suddenly, like it's has been destroyed and purified."
"What? Is there another exorcist assigned there besides Allen and Lenalee in that town?" Lavi turned to asked Komui.
"There's no another exorcist except Allen and Lenalee assigned to this mission." Answered Komui. Placing his hand on his chin. "Unless..." then his eyes widened.
Noticing his brother expression that look like he already know the answer, Lenalee said "Yes, we also arrived at the same conclusion as you nii-san. That the one who destroyed the level three akuma is the innocence accommodator himself."
The whole people inside the office who hearing that turned to face Lenalee, looking at her in disbelief.
"As unbelievable it is. That's the truth. While we're not seeing how he destroyed the akuma, but the place we found him is covered by thick and dense ice so that makes the alley in front of us looks like a cave made by dense ice. In the inside also look like it's has a trace of battle going on when we entered, and the accommodator lying unconscious in the middle. Maybe because that's the power of his Innocence is made ice." Said Allen.
"Wow. He must be very skilled then, managed to defeated one Level three akuma on his own." Commented Lavi.
"I see. Lenalee, may I see the sword?" asked Komui to his sister.
"Of course, nii-san." She then gives the sword to Komui, who have an interested look on his face.
He then begin examine the blue unsheathed sword from his desk. His eyes showing an interested glint, like his expression. "Hmmm... an equipment-type innocence that has the ability to create ice from thin air... this is interesting... it's actually rare to have an element as its ability on the equipment-type innocence..." he commented. Then begin pulling the sword out from the sheath, but to his surprise he cannot pulled it out.
"Huh? It can't be pulled out?"
"Komui. I don't know you have little strength to the extent that could not draw a sword from its sheath" Lavi joked.
"Hey! Even though I'm a scientist I still have a strength you know, but not like you three!" he give a look toward Lavi, Allen and Kanda. "It's seriously cannot be pulled out!"
"Here, let me try it." Said Allen as Komui give the sword to him.
"HRRRRGGGGHHH!" He began pulled the sword from its sheath with all his might. But it still won't budge an inch from its sheath.
"Seriously? you can't even draw it out, moyashi?" Kanda mocked.
"Then you try it Kanda! And my name is Allen!"
"Hmph! Give me that." Kanda said as he received the sword from Allen's hand. He also began try to pulled it out but the result is still same. "Why this damn sword not come out already!?" he shouted.
"Maybe there's a key to openned it?" asked Lavi.
"Or maybe only the accommodator is the only one who can draw the sword out?" suggested Lenalee as Kanda give the sword back to Komui.
"Well. We have to ask him in person to know it." He sighed as he lowered the sword. "You two!" he pointed to the two finders who watching the entire scene and listening their banter.
"Y-yes?" stuttered the two of them at same time.
"Put this sword at the science department right now!" he commanded as he gives the blue sheathed sword to the two scared finders. "And all of you dismissed! I want continued my sleep." He muttered the last part to himself.
(Few days later, Kaito P.O.V)
He was standing in the middle of forest-like stadium. Surrounded by trees who covered by ice. He was wearing hospital gown-like clothes, in his right hand were a small ice guns, while his left hand gripped a spear made from ice. In front of him lays a boy with the same age as him, bloodied and not moving. Just unconscious. Not death.
"Excellent work. Your display of power has surpassed subject number two. Not only your power, but your skills also improved. We impressed. Right, number one?" said a man with a white science coat to a girl with blue hair like him but a year older, also wearing a hospital gown.
The girl just nodded her head, eyeing the boy in front of her with curious look.
"Now, let's get back to the lab. It's time for your examination." Said the man, as they begin leaving the forest stadium.
"What will happen to him?" said Kaito monotonesly. Looking at the unconcious boy who has been carried by the other scientist.
"Oh, him? he will be reeducated back. And his medicine will be increased. Why do you ask?"
"... It's nothing." answered Kaito.
As they arrived in the front of laboratories door, "Wait here until I calling you. While you number one, go back to your own room." The man ordered as he entered the door.
A few seconds passed, they're just stood there in awkward silence.
"... So... uumm... you're number five right? What's your name?" the girl said, starting a conversation.
"... Kaito." He answered simply.
"Hey, that's almost the same as my name!" the girl said cheerfully.
"..."
"Come on, tell me that you interested my name?"
"..." Kaito just stared at her, give her a look that like saying what's-wrong-with-this-girl on his face.
"Tell me you're interested!" she chirped.
"...Why?"
"Why's what?"
"Why are you interested talking to me?" asked Kaito.
"Because I want to be your friend!" she answered happily.
This surprise Kaito, no one ever said that to him since he came here. Not even the scientist, they're just using him as a tool for their own purpose.
"Is I 'am said something weird?" she tilted her head. Notice the surprise look on Kaito's face.
"No... it just that... everyone never said that to me since I 'am dragged to this place." He said as his expression change back to normal. "Why interested in me anyway? Are because I just defeated number two a while ago?"
"No. Is there any reasonto made friend with?" she questioned.
This make Kaito surprised again. This girl, the girl that he just meet not a hour ago said that she wanted to befriend with him. Slowly his lip turned upward. Seeing the boys smile, this make the blue haired girl happy.
"Sure. I like to be your friend." He finally said with smile.
"Okay! Now we become friend, let's make a hand shake!" the girl said happily as she raise her right hand forward. Kaito then shake it with his own hand.
"So... what's your name?"
"Just call me Kaiko! Please to meet you Kaito!"
(still Kaito P.O.V)
"Urgh..." he groaned under his breath. Opened his eyes slowly, he feel his chest and his back in pain. When he touched his chest, he feel like there something on it. Looking at it, he realized that he was wearing nothing but bandaged on his chest to his back. To his relief, he still wears his old pants. After sense everything on his body that he was alright, he looked around, only to find that he is inside of a hospital room, on the bed precisely, white ceiling and green curtain.
He tried to sit from his bed, and feel the pain from both his back and chest that injured, then he remembered the fight between himself with a monster that identified as akuma.
"What happened?" he asked on his mind. " Is the akuma fled the scene after it though that I am dead? Or someone save me and drive the akuma off? Or-"
His train of thought stopped when the door of the room opened. And an old nurses with a tall Chinese man with dark eyes and long dark hair that curls at the end. He wears a pair of wire-frame, pentagonal glasses, a light blue turtleneck sweater, white pants and a white beret along with his uniform, a white, Branch Chief coat. He also wears slippers.
"Oh! You're awake! I was going to check you up." The nurse said and giving Kaito a glass of water.
"Thanks..." Kaito said with hoarse voice. Then started drink the water down to his throat. "Where am I?" he asked after gulping a glass of water.
"You currently in the hospital wing, if that's what you mean." Said the Chinese man with a smile.
"I mean, where precisely am I?"
"Well to answer your question. For large scale we're on the small island in the Europan Continent, for smaller scale we're in the castle of Black Order. Home of the Exorcist" He said.
