I don't own Doctor Who or any of the music mentioned. If I did, Matt Smith would not be gone and whouffle would have fully set sail long ago.
'No windows, doors or any means of escape.' Thought the Doctor sadly. 'I guess this is where I die. I just wish I could have spent more time with Clara.'
With an audible sigh, John Smith ruffled his hair and meet Amelia's eyes.
"Sure. We can head up to the Tardis to talk."
"No you don't." Amy glared. "We will stay here. I know how you like to run."
The Doctor could blame her. She had seen through his ploy to escape the situation that he found himself in. Behind the angry red head David, Donna and Rose all had amused smirks on their face. Rory had his usual nervous expression and Clara just shrugged.
"Okay, Pond. What do you want to talk about?"
"You know what, mister. Why have I not seen or heard from you for a month?" The girl demanded, the fire alit in her eyes.
"Well I just wanted to give you space. You and Rory are a couple now. I didn't want to be an eternal third wheel. And maybe you guys would realize you're better off without me. I just bring bad luck to most. It's the same reason I haven't seen Craig and Sophie." The Doctor began.
"I know that new couples need time and space to do couplely things. And to be honest Amelia, I didn't want to see my two best friends song each others lungs out. Can you blame me for that?"
"Why didn't you say anything you daft sod!" Amy exclaimed, annoyed with the boy.
"Because a part of me didn't want to get hurt. That's why I kept my distance Amelia. I was already hurt from our conversation that day. Have you met Clara? She is someone outside of you that wants to be my friend. She's the only person I've spent time with for the month. Are you okay with that?" John shot back, standing his ground.
"I was joking Doctor. I know you have other friends. And I think it's cute you have yourself a little girlfriend." Amy smirked.
"She's not my girlfriend!" The Doctor exclaimed just as Clara said. "He's not my boyfriend."
That warranted another smirk from the red head and smiles from the rest of the group. Both John and Clara were a bright red and Amy laughed harder. She walked over to the Doctor and squeezed him in a tight hug. He returned it and the two needed no more words.
All was well between Pond and Doctor.
John spent half an hour catching up with his old group and introducing them to Clara. She and Rory became instant friends while Amy was a little weary of her. After a bit it was announced they would have to leave and that the six of them should hang out before school. Amy made clear her thoughts of the couple before preceding home with her Centurion, leaving Clara and John to enjoy peace on the roof once again.
"So what did you think of the gang?" John asked, taking in the night air.
"They were interesting Chin Boy to say the least." Clara smiled, leaning on his shoulder.
A gust of warm air blew and Clara shifted into John's side a little more. The two had slipped their hands together and were content to just enjoy each others presence. John felt his heartbeat increase with the hand inside his own. Anytime Clara looked at him his heart raced. He leaned and planted a small kiss on her forehead.
Clara looked up and returned the kiss on his lips, causing John to blush scarlet. She smirked in the way that showed she was in control. She flicked his check and John bent down to return the kiss. They locked lips again and to both of them, it seemed like an eternity under the stars.
"Clara….. Would you be my girlfriend?"
A week after the show, Amy and Rory (mostly Amy) forced the new couple of John and Clara to go on a double date with them. A movie was seen and lunch eaten. It ended with the four wandering through the park John and Clara first met. John and Rory had gone to get ice cream leaving Amy and Clara to talk.
"So Clara, how did our bow tied dork ask you out?" Amy questioned, curious by the unheard story.
"Well the night of the show, I kissed him before we ran into you and kissed twice again after you left." Clara recalled, blushing.
"Sorry if I interrupted anything."
Ignoring her, Clara continued. "We kissed, and as we watched the stars he asked. It wasn't what he did to ask but how he asked it. I could tell by his voice that he was serious and how he felt. And that was good enough for me."
"Wow, that sounds just like him," Amy giggled at her best friends antics.
At that moment, John and Rory arrive passing ice cream to the respective dates. While Amy and Rory contently ate their treat, the other couple took turns nibbling the others cone or leaving a little ice cream on the others nose. The Ponds just rolled their eyes at the new couples antics.
These were the days that the four cherished.
"John, this is Osgood. Osgood, John." Sally Sparrow introduced the potential band mates and took a seat in the room. Sally's family owned the local music store and allowed her to use it for the current meeting.
"Well know that we know one other, let's get down to business. I play the bass and guitar, John plays guitar and Osgood has the drums and keyboard covered. Do either of you think we need another member?" Sally asked.
The reply from the other two members was a nay.
"Okay that's settled. What songs do you guys want to learn first? We pry need five or ten learned before our first gig."
"Well I like this folkish band called The Oh Hellos. They have some nice and gentle songs." John spoke.
"What about some classic rock? Sally can rock some Stones songs, and I know you have some Beatles under your belt." Osgood replied, scratching her chin.
"So it's agreed we'll at least blend out genres?" Sally questioned.
"Yes." Was the collective response.
"Lastly we need a name."
"What about The Doctor and Companions?" John asked seriously.
"Not a chance." Was Osgood's response.
"Then what about The Weeping Angels? Like the statues outside the music hall at school?" Sally suggest.
"That sounds great." Osgood gushed, smiling at Sally.
"What do you think John?"
"I like it." The only male, smile and the three shook hands, for the band was formed.
And John was happy he found something else to cherish.
"Clara! I'm back." John called out to his girlfriend, whose was watching the shop was Granddad could visit Wilf.
"I'm in the stock room. Come help me for a minute." Was the response given.
John made his way into the back room and found a short brunette fling into him. Catching her and swinging her around, she locked lips with her. The joy they shared in the kiss was one as though they hadn't seen each other in weeks, even though Clara was staying at the shop.
"How was band practice?" Clara questioned, turning to lift a box of books off a shelf.
"Good. We picked a name and started our first line-up. How's shop life?"
"Quiet so far. Only Miss Pond and Noble have come by. Though the second was looking for Ten."
"So a normal day then?" John smirked. He liked Rose but a part of him wished David would get his head out of his ass and see the girl who's been by his side most of his life.
"Are they even going to stop dancing around they're feeling and get it over with?" Clara asked, appearing to read John's mind.
"I'm not sure. But if Rose breaks his heart, well at least she'll be able to pick up the pieces and mend it."
"True."
With that the two slipped back into a quiet pace of shelving books and stealing occasional kisses throughout the store. The two were happy for these lazy days were they could just quietly enjoy each other's company. Sure going out with the Ponds (yes they were all but married and Amy defiantly was the pants wearer.) and doing double date stuff was fun but she ended up dragging them all over the place.
These moments were when time stood still and the two could enjoy it.
"Clara, we are in a bookstore. All of time and space, anything that ever happened and every will. Where do you want to start?" He smirked, remembering how those were the words he used to describe the magic of the store and what it does for people. She smile back, smacked his chested and pulled him towards the Harry Potter books.
'God, she never changes.' He thought. 'And I love it.'
