Hello people and welcome to the first chapter of the Prince of the Outcasts, been reading fanfics about the 100 and I thought I should give it a try
At first, I couldn't decide whether to do Clarke x Oc or Raven x Oc and then I remember Clexa and I couldn't break that up, and besides Raven's romantic interests always ended up dying so it's easier to do a Raven x OC story
Anyway, hope you enjoy this story also, I haven't read the books and frankly, I don't want to, Raven is one of my favorite characters, even if they tortured her to death in every single season, and according to the internet Raven was a character created for the show and she doesn't exist in the books among other characters so that's the main reason I will focus on the tv material
But with that being said, you could lend me information about the books and I'll try to see if I can fit them into my story
So without any further ado, enjoy the chapter
Chapter 1: The prisoners
In a lonely cell, al leaned well build teenager with black hair with red highlights on his hair and red color iris on his eyes that could be passed as a marron color but sometimes they shined bright red, his age is about seventeen years old and he was laying bored on his bed looking at the roof he wore a white prisoners outfit
"Two more weeks and then I'm dead," The teenager thought as he put his hands on his back "I should be afraid, yet I don't care, my fate is sealed, just wish they shoot me instead," The teenager thought as he closes his eyes and started drifting into a dream reality
When the door of his cell open up the teenager opened his right eye and saw two guards standing at the open door
"Can I help you guys?" The teenager asked in curiosity as he sat up "I don't think it's time for my hearing I don't turn eighteen for another two weeks," The teen said standing in the middle of his cell
"Prisoner 154, face the wall and lift your right arm," The guard said and the teen narrowed his eyes
"How about no? And tell me what the fuck is this all about?" The teen said glaring at the guards
"Then we will force you," The guard said as both guards took out an electric baton out
"So, a normal Tuesday then?" The teen said smirking and wasted no time and lounged at the closest guard and punch him in the stomach hard causing the guard to drop to the ground and hold his stomach in pain
The teenager heard the other guard prepare his attack and the teen spun around and grabbed the arm that had the baton and twisted it so the baton was touching the neck of the guard the teen activated electrifying the guard and knocking him out cold
The teen saw the other guard starting to get up so the teen quickly put his feet on his head and push the guard's head down knocking him out cold
The teen then heard a familiar set of footsteps and quickly grab one of the batons and hide it under his pillow and look at the entrance of the cell
"Jesus kid, what the hell did you do?" A man said as he stared at the bodies on the floor
"Beat the crap out of your mates," The teen said smirking "The hell is going on Bruce?" The teen asked in curiosity
"Let me guess, those idiots just started demanding things out of you right?" The man said and the teen raised an eyebrow
"Care to take a guess?" The teen said and Bruce sighed
"Here," Bruce said putting a briefcase on the bed "Seriously Kane should get a hold of his troops," Bruce muttered under his breath but the teen still heard him
"So, you didn't answer my question, what the hell is going on?" The teen asked frowning
"You're going to earth, all one hundred of you," Bruce said and the teen's eyes winded in surprise
"Why?" The teen asked in curiosity
"Don't know, don't have clearance to know, only the council and the medical team knows," Bruce said and the teen thought for a second
"Think this has to do with what happened to Jake Griffin?" The teen asked in curiosity
"Most likely, only desperate time create desperate measures," Bruce said as he started coughing and look at his hand and saw blood on it
"How bad is it?" The teen asked in concern seeing Bruce coughing
"Bad, doc said I have two more weeks of life," Bruce said and the teen let out a small chuckle making Bruce raise an eyebrow at him
"It's just that, I was going to die in two weeks, seems fitting doesn't it?" The teen said sarcastically
"You have a weird sense of humor," Bruce said chuckling, and then looked at the bodies on the floor
"I'll take care of this idiots, change your clothes and put on the wristband, meet you outside when you're done," Bruce said and the teen nodded
"Roger that," The teen said as Bruce dragged the guards outside
The teen looked at the door closing and sighed as he made his way to the case, he opened it up and saw a black leather jacket with a red katana plastered on its back, some tight black jeans, a dark red tight T-shirt, and a pair of black boots
And the thing that gained the attention of the teen was a metal wristband that seemed like a handcuff, he scoffed as he started undressing revealing the two tattoos he had on his body
One was a red dragon that ran all across his right arm and the other one was a big sword surrounded by several spiky branches that ran all the way down his spine, he started changing and once he was done he put the wristband on, wincing when he felt the pressure surrounded his wrist
He grabbed the baton from under the pillow and put it on the back of his pants the jacket he had hiding from sight
He walked out of the cell as Bruce was waiting for him on the outside, "Looking good," Bruce said with a smile and the teen chuckled "Here I have a present for you," Bruce said as he presented the teen a small package, Bruce open it and the teen saw three packages of cigarettes on the box and a lighter also there
The teen raised an eyebrow and Bruce chuckled "It's from my personal stash, figured since I'm dying I should make use of them," Bruce said and the teen chuckled grabbing the box and putting it in the pocket of his jacket
"Now, listen kid," Bruce said putting a hand on the teen's shoulder "I'm going, to be honest, you don't have a life here, that life disappeared when they threw your mother away," Bruce said and the teen clinched his teeth in anger
"They didn't throw her away, they murder her," The teen said in anger and Bruce nodded
"Yes, they did, and you got your revenge, but that's beside the point," Bruce said and the teen let out a breath gaining control of his anger "Down there on earth, you can make a new life for yourself, I taught you everything I know so that you could survive, but its time you start living," Bruce said and the teen nodded
Then both males heard a fight next to them and turned to see a blond girl about seventeen years of age running out of her cell and looking around in confusion
The girl lock eyes with the teen and the male teen raised an eyebrow in confusion silently asking if everything was alright
"Jake's daughter?" The teen asked Bruce without looking at the adult and Bruce nodded
"Yeah, Clarke Griffin, and if she's there her mother is not far away," Bruce said and sure enough Aby Griffin walked out of the cell
"Come on, knowing those idiots, they will shoot a tranquilizer at the poor kid," Bruce said and again sure enough a guard ended up shooting a tranquilizer at the young Griffin
"Fucking idiots," The teen mumbled as he saw the young teen falling to the ground
"Everything okay Abby?" Bruce said as both males arrived at the scene
"Bruce?" Abby asked in curiosity and then glance at the teen who felt nervous under her stare "Ah right, of course," Abby said with a smile and then stood up and walked towards the teen
"You're Gray right? Ethan Gray?" Abby asked and the teen, whose name had been revealed, nodded "Please take care of my daughter, I can't lose her," Abby pleaded and Ethan nodded nervously
"I'll try my best ma'am," Ethan said and Abby nodded gratefully "Uh, so who's going to carry her, or are you going to leave her there on the floor?" Ethan asked sarcastically
"You are," Bruce said with a smirk on his face
"No I'm not," Ethan said in irritation "Why would I do that?" Ethan asked rhetorically
"Because we are guards, and you're the criminal, it's obvious," Bruce said smirking making fun of the teen
"Screw you," Ethan grumbled as he crouch down and pick up the girl bridal style and look at Bruce
"Those guys will show you the way, this will be the last time we see each other kid, may we meet again," Bruce said and Ethan looked at him
"May we meet again old timer," Ethan said as he started following the guards into the shuttle that would send the criminals back to Earth
The guard shoved Ethan inside and the young teen stumbled and glare back at the guard and climb up to find a seat for him and Clarke
He found three seats unoccupied, and he put Clarke on the middle one strapping her up and making sure she was secure then took a seat on left and strapped himself, and close his eyes trying to calm himself
He then felt someone staring at him and opened his eyes to see Wells Jaha, the chancellor's son looking at him with narrowed eyes
"Something I can help you with?" Ethan asked narrowing his eyes back at the African American teen
Wells said nothing and walked to the seat on Clarke's left Ethan noticed the wristband on the wrist of the chancellor's son and that got the curiosity of the black-haired teen
"Didn't know that the chancellor's son was a criminal, daddy must be so proud of you," Ethan said smirking and chuckling when Wells glared at him
Ethan heard the doors of the shuttle close and he felt how the shuttle dropped down, disconnecting from the Ark, he closed his eyes as he prepare himself for the new life he was about to experience
After a while, he heard a groan coming from his right and saw Clarke waking up before Wells could speak up Ethan speak up first
"Welcome back runaway," Ethan said and Clarke looked at him in curiosity "I saw you running away, by the sound of it you gave a lot of trouble to the guards, name's Ethan by the way, Ethan Gray," Ethan said smiling
"How did I get here?" Clarke asked groggily blinking as she fully woke up
"They made me carry you, you're surprisingly light, so it was no issue," Ethan said smirking and Clarke looked at him in confusion "I would love to continue this conversation, but I'm not sure how more of the prodigal son's glare I can handle," Ethan said nodding his head pointing at someone behind her
Clarke turned around and saw Wells sitting on her right glaring at the black-haired teen before looking at Clarke with a smile
"Hey Clarke," Wells said and Clarke frowned
"Wells, why the hell are you here?" Clarke asked in anger and Ethan felt uncomfortable hearing the conversation
"When I found out that they were sending prisoners to the ground, I got myself arrested," Wells said and both Clarke and Ethan raised an eyebrow "I came here you," Wells said and Ethan chuckle gaining the attention of both teens
"Dude, that's creepy as hell," Ethan said and Clarke smirked a little and Wells just glared at him
"Do you mind? This is a private conversation," Wells said and Ethan looked at him
"Dude, we're in an enclosed space seating next to each other, not the best place to have a private conversation don't you think?" Ethan said sarcastically and Clarke chuckled making Wells glare harder at the teen
Wells prepare himself to speak again but the shuttle moved abruptly and that ended any discussions between the teens
"What was that?" Clarke asked as she grabbed with strength her belt and looked up
"That was the atmosphere," Wells said looking up too then the TVs of the shuttle turned on and the chancellor Thelonious Jaha appeared on the screen
"And here I thought I wouldn't have to see that face again," Ethan mumbled and Clarke heard him and looked at him curiously
"Prisoners of the Ark, hear me now," The recording of Jaha started speaking "You've been given a second chance, and as your chancellor, it is my hope that you see this as not a chance for you, but a chance for all of us, indeed for mankind itself," Jaha said as he took a pause to continue talking "We have no idea what is waiting for you down there, if the odds of survival were better, we would've sent others, we're sending you because your crimes have made you expendable," Jaha said and Ethan narrowed his eyes at the TV in anger
"Your dad is a dick, Wells!" A kid from behind the trio shouted and Ethan chuckled
"Your crimes will be forgiven, your records wiped clean," Chancellor Jaha said and Ethan leaned toward Clarke
"Noticed how he said forgiven, yet probably they will not be forgotten, won't they?" Ethan said looking at Clarke with a smile Clarke sighed but say nothing as she agreed with the black-haired teen
"The drop site has been chosen carefully, before the last war, Mount Weather was a military base built within a mountain," Ethan seriously could care less about what the chancellor was saying, instead his attention was on a kid who had the dumb idea of unbolting himself and started floating around
"Yo Wells, check it out, your dad float me after all," A kid with long hair was floating in front of the trio and smiling at Wells
"You should strap in before the parachutes deploy," Wells said looking at the teen in front of him
Clarke leaned into Ethan and looked at two kids who were unstrapping themselves "Hey you two, stay put if you want to live," Clarke said but the teens ignore her and started floating around
"Idiots," Ethan mumbled as he saw the teens floating around
"Hey you're the traitor who's been in solitary for a year," The teen said looking at Clarke
"You're the idiot who wasted a month of oxygen on an illegal spacewalk," Clarke said and the floating teen smirked
"But it was fun, I'm Finn," Finn said smiling at the blond girl, and Ethan got a feeling that something bad was going to happen as he started to feel chills on his spine
"Thank me later space idiot," Ethan said as he grabbed the arm of Finn forcefully and brought Finn closer just in time as the shuttle began thrashing around and sending the other two teens who had unbuckled their belts straight into the roof
"Don't let go," Finn exclaimed as he held Ethan for dear life the shuttle kept trashing for a while until they felt the shuttle land and the trashing stopped
Ethan sighed and put down Finn and quickly unbuckled his belt and went to check one of the two guys that had hit the roof
He kneeled down and check for vital signs but found nothing then saw the bruise on the teen's neck and sighed
"Ethan?" Gray heard Clarke call him out and looked to where she was and saw Finn standing next to her in shock "Is he?" Clarke didn't need to finish as Ethan shook his head
"May we meet again friend," Ethan whispered as he closed the eyes of the teen and stood up while letting a breath out
"The outer door is on the lower level, let's go," A random kid shouted and Clarke sprung into action
"No wait, we can't just open the doors," Clarke said quickly walking to the bottom floor
Ethan walked to where Finn was and put a hand on his shoulder in sympathy before walking down
"Thank you," Finn said and Ethan looked at him in confusion "For saving my life," Finn said and Ethan nodded
"Think nothing about it, space boy," Ethan said walking away from the scene
He climbed the ladder down and hang there in the middle of the ladder just in time to see Clarke talking to an older teen
"The air could be toxic, we shouldn't open the doors," Clarke said, and before the guy could retort Ethan spoke out
"If the air is toxic, then the other option is to stay here and starve to death or resort to cannibalism," Ethan said with a smirk "If it's the second option, I got dibs on the prodigal son," Ethan said smirking and the rest of the prisoners chuckle
"Psycho kid is right, if its toxic we're dead either way," The older teen said walking to open the doors
"Bellamy?" A girl said walking to the front to stand in front of the older teen
"Bellamy huh? Now why in the hell is old Bruce's apprentice doing here?" Ethan thought as the girl and Bellamy hugged each other "Ah yeah, the girl that hid on the wall, right," Ethan thought as some kid voiced his thoughts
"Hey O, easy," Bellamy said gabbing Octavia by her waist "Let's give them something else to remember you by," Bellamy said and Octavia looked at him in confusion
"Yeah? Like what?" Octavia asked in curiosity and Bellamy smirked
"Like being the first person on the ground in a hundred years," Bellamy said and went to open the door
The door opened as Ethan climbed down the ladder and made his way to the front as the light hit his eyes
The prisoners waited for Octavia to touch the ground and the girl took a deep breath in as she looked around and then shouted with excitement
"We're back bitches!" Octavia shouted as the prisoners started running around in excitement
Ethan walked slowly into the middle of the forest and fell to his knees as he looked at the sky, he felt like tears threaten to fall from his eyes "I'm free," Ethan whispered and he put his head on the ground
He quickly stood up with a purpose, he made a promise to Bruce, to live his life and that was exactly what he was going to do, and for that, to happen he needed the cooperation of two people
So with a purpose, he walked to the first of the pair, and hope to gain an alliance with this person
"Sorry, it was Bellamy, right?" Ethan said as he walked towards the Blake siblings and both of them turned to look at him
"Yeah that's me," Bellamy said as he narrowed his eyes at Ethan
"Is okay I come in peace," Ethan said lifting his hands slightly "Bruce told me a lot about you, wonder if we could have a conversation alone, in private," Ethan said glancing at the girl next to Bellamy who narrowed her eyes at him
"Bruce? Wait what's your name?" Bellamy asked in curiosity
"Gray, Ethan Gray," Ethan said truthfully
"Oh shit, you're the crazy kid that Bruce always talked about," Bellamy said and Ethan chuckled
"And you're the idiot with the heart of gold that Bruce couldn't keep bragging about," Ethan said and both teens chuckled
"O, give me a few moments with him, I'll find you later, ok?" Bellamy said and Octavia furrowed her eyebrows
"I promise, no harm will fall to your brother," Ethan said with a smile on his face and Octavia sighed
"You're lucky you're cute," Octavia said pointing a finger at Ethan and then walking away to explore Ethan chuckled nervously
"So, shall we?" Ethan said and Bellamy nodded
"Lead the way," Bellamy said as they walked into the forest and both of them stopped once they were far away from the landing space
Ethan took a cigarette package from his jacket and started beating the lower part of it
"How did you get that?" Bellamy asked in curiosity
"Bruce," Ethan said simply as Bellamy chuckled then Ethan started opening the package and taking out a cigarette "Want one?" Ethan asked as he put the cigarette in his mouth
"Sure," Bellamy said grabbing a cigarette from the package Ethan took out the light while putting the package away and lit his cigarette
"Look Bellamy, I promise you, I will not judge you, and I don't have no ill intentions towards you," Ethan said while taking a drag out of his cigarette
"Thanks, but why are you telling me this?" Bellamy said handing the lighter back to Ethan, the younger teen looked at Bellamy in curiosity and after taking a breath in he spoke again
"You shot Chancellor Jaha, right?" Ethan said as Bellamy looked at him in shock and fear
"How did…" Bellamy asked in fear
"How did I know?" Ethan asked and Bellamy nodded "First take a deep breath, whatever we discuss here, will stay here, I'm on your side, I owe it to Bruce," Ethan said and Bellamy regain control of his fear but kept glancing warily at the teen in front of him
"Secondly, Bruce came to me yesterday in the middle of the night, he was scared and preoccupied, so I asked him what happened, and he told me that someone had shot the chancellor," Ethan said and took a drag out of his cigarette "Only an idiot or someone with a lot to lose would do such a thing, so when I saw that you came here for your sister, I put two and two together, well I wasn't 100% sure but your reaction tells me I was right," Ethan said blowing out the smoke from his cigarette
"What are you going to do with that information?" Bellamy asked in curiosity, a part of him wanted to go for his gun and shoot Ethan, but something told him to listen to the younger teen
"Honestly, your cooperation, but I'm not blackmailing you, I just needed you to be afraid for you to listen to me like I said, I won't tell anyone about what you did," Ethan said "Although, this wasn't your idea was it?" Ethan asked in curiosity
"No, it wasn't," Bellamy said and Ethan raised an eyebrow telling him to continue "Shumway," Bellamy said and Ethan's eyes winded in surprise
"Oh shit, this just got a lot interesting," Ethan said chuckling and taking a drag out of his cigarette "Shumway was a critical person under the leadership of the previous chancellor, but after the council threw her away, Jaha put Kane in Shumway's position and demoted the bastard," Ethan said shocking the older teen
"How do you know all of this?" Bellamy asked and Ethan chuckled
"Bruce liked to talk, and I was a dead man walking, no one would care of what I had to say, that or he was giving me weapons to build my case on my hearing," Ethan said shrugging his shoulders
"Okay then, listen here's what are we going to do, I'm going to present you two paths, and whatever you choose, I will back you up," Ethan said and then lift his wrist showing Bellamy the wristband
"You know what these are for?" Ethan asked shaking his wrist
"No, not really," Bellamy said taking a drag out of his cigarette and then chuckled "But I have a feeling you're going to tell me either way," Bellamy said and Ethan chuckled
"You catch on quick," Ethan said "A year ago, an engineer found out that the Ark was running out of air supply, in simple terms the Ark is dying, and that's why they sent us here, to see if Earth is habitable," Ethan said as Bellamy's eyes winded in surprise
"That's what these are for, they monitor our vital signs, so if I perhaps decide to take this off…" Ethan said not finishing the sentence on purpose
"The Ark would think you died," Bellamy said realizing what Ethan was trying to say
"Bingo!" Ethan said taking a drag out of his cigarette "So, if the Ark thinks we are dying," Ethan said and Bellamy finish for him taking a drag out of his cigarette with a smile on his face
"The Ark won't come here," Bellamy said and Ethan nodded
"Exactly, and that's path number one," Ethan said taking a drag out of his cigarette "You take control of the misfits and convince them that taking these wristbands is in their best interest, and even if you can't convince everyone if a lot of people "die" while a few don't, the ark will think twice before coming here," Ethan said and Bellamy nodded
"There is a flaw in that plan, right?" Bellamy asked and Ethan nodded
"Yeah, if people don't come down to earth, those bastards from the council will sacrifice the poor people to give the wealthy more time," Ethan said "Personally I don't care, I don't have a family back there, and Bruce is dying so I got no attachment there," Ethan said and then looked at Bellamy straight in the eye "But then how we will live with ourselves knowing we cause that?" Ethan asked rhetorically and Bellamy sighed
"Yeah, I don't want that in my conscience, but I'll do what it takes to protect my sister, so if I have to, I'll take that path," Bellamy said and Ethan nodded
"Thank god I have another idea," Ethan said taking a drag out of his cigarette "Path numero dos," Ethan said with a smirk on his face lifting to fingers up
"We make you indispensable, take control of this group, be a leader, and when the ark comes down, they will see how the forgotten son, did the impossible to keep his sister safe, and while doing that, he kept the chancellor son, alongside the Ark's doctor's daughter safe, he showed leadership and turned a bunch of criminals into model citizens, we create our own city, our own nation, one that doesn't have to take orders from the Ark, we become children of the earth, not children of the Ark," Ethan ranted taking the final drag out of his cigarette and throw it down into the floor and stepped on it
"Sounds promising, but you know those idiots won't listen to a word I say if I try to control them right away," Bellamy said and Ethan chuckled
"That's why we won't, in this world, there are two types of persons, a wolf, and a sheep," Ethan said "Right now, without knowing anyone, I can tell there are four wolves in this group," Ethan said
"Who?" Bellamy said finishing his cigarette
"Me and you, your sister and Clarke Griffin," Ethan said and Bellamy looked at him in confusion
"Not Wells?" Bellamy asked with curiosity in his voice
"Oh he thinks he is, but all of his ideas and motivations come from the people he knows and love, like his father and Clarke, that makes him a sheep, he will be against us but if Clarke says sit," Ethan said and Bellamy chuckled
"He will follow her commands," Bellamy said and Ethan nodded
"That's why for this to work, we need Clarke to work with us," Ethan said and Bellamy grabbed his chin
"Well I don't know her, but she didn't seem like someone keen to listen to others," Bellamy said "So, how can we get her to join us, especially if she doesn't trust us?" Bellamy asked and Ethan smiled
"We do what she can't," Ethan said and then turned around to look at where the people were making Bellamy looked back too "She'll want people to listen to her, but no one will, or maybe a few, they'll see her as a privileged girl, a princess to be precise," Ethan said and Bellamy's winded as he realized what Ethan was saying
"So, if we control all the sheep, she'll have to join us either way," Bellamy said and Ethan nodded
"Exactly, if she sees that we can control the criminals, and make them behave, she'll see the logic and will join us sooner or later, and even if she doesn't," Ethan said
"We'll control everyone so it won't matter," Bellamy said and Ethan nodded with a smile, "You said my sister was one wolf too, should we get her to join too?" Bellamy asked and Ethan shook his head
"Your sister is a lone wolf, she was caged her entire life, and now she's free," Ethan said and Bellamy sighed knowing how hard Octavia's life had been "If we try to control her, or anything like that, she will strike back and that will be contra-productive," Ethan said and Bellamy nodded
"So then, how do we control the criminals?" Bellamy asked in curiosity
"Oh that's the easy part, we give them what they want," Ethan said with a smile on his face "These people are the lowest of the low, all their life they have been told what to do, so give them freedom, give them chaos, and when things get too far when the moment comes where they won't know what to do next with their freedom," Ethan said and Bellamy smirked
"We step in, and make ourselves the leaders," Bellamy said and Ethan nodded
"They'll be so lost and they'll unconsciously hear out every word we say," Ethan said and let out a dry chuckle "Like the fucking sheep they are," Ethan said and Bellamy smirked
"Can I ask something?" Bellamy asked and Ethan nodded "Why are you doing this?" The older teen asked and Ethan looked at him
"I was going to die, two weeks from now, now I'm here with another chance and I intend to make the most out of it, and also it doesn't matter if they forgive my crimes, they will always see me as the outcast, the criminal, so I'll take my people and build a nation for myself, away from the ark," Ethan said and Bellamy nodded
"Seems like we are in the same boat," Bellamy said and Ethan chuckled
"Why do you think I approach you in the first place?" Ethan said and Bellamy smiled and then both of them heard some fighting from the campsite "Huh, it took a lot less than I thought for a fight to break out," Ethan said, and Bellamy chuckled
"Come one, let's see what's going on," Bellamy said as both teens made their way to the noise
They arrived to see a bunch of people facing Wells, Bellamy looked at Ethan with a raised eyebrow and the younger teen shrugged his shoulders, telling Bellamy to play things out
"You boys had fun without me?" Octavia said as she walked to stand next to Bellamy
"Let's just say we had an enlightening conversation," Bellamy said with a smirk and Ethan chuckled
"Relax, we are just trying to figure out where we are," Wells said and Bellamy scoffed
"We're on the ground, that not good enough for you?" Bellamy asked sarcastically
"We need to find Mount Weather," Wells said addressing the crowd "You heard my father's message, that has to be our first priority," Wells said
"Screw your father, what do you think you're in charge? You and your little princess?" Octavia said looking at Wells and Clarke in disgust
"Do you think we care who's in charge?" Clarke said addressing Octavia before looking at the crowd
"We need to get to Mount Weather not because the chancellor said so, but because the longer we wait, the hungrier we'll get and the harder this'll be," Clarke said as everyone was listening to what she said except Ethan and Bellamy, both teens where looking at the mesmerized figure of Wells with smirks on their faces
"How long do you think will last without those supplies? We're looking at a twenty-mile trek okay?" Clarke said and Ethan crossed his arms in deep thought "So if we want to get there before dark, we need to go now," Clarke said and everybody remained quiet until Ethan spoke out
"Okay first I got to say that was so hot," Ethan said with a smirk on his face and Clarke blushed went the teens around the area chuckled at Ethan's comments "Secondly, although I agree about going to Mount Weather, if we all go it would be suicide," Ethan said and Wells glared at him
"You aren't listening we need to go," Wells said and Ethan raised an eyebrow
"Easy there chancellor," Ethan said mocking the word chancellor making the group of teens chuckle again "What I mean is that we don't know what's out there, is a stupid idea to go all 100 hundred of us without knowing if it's safe or not," Ethan said and Clarke frown as she realized she was so eager to go she hadn't realized that
But while Clarke did realize that Wells didn't, and he got angry thinking Ethan had called Clarke stupid so he walked forward
"What did you say?" Wells said as he swung a fist at Ethan, the dark-haired teen looked at the chancellor's son in confusion as he sidestepped and put his feet forward making Wells stumble down
"Dude, what the hell is your problem?" Ethan asked as he stepped back and let Wells stand up, the teen had hurt his ankle on the fall but still walked forward and put his fists up
Ethan took his hands out of his pockets and glared at Wells, fully prepared to put him down but stopped when he heard a rustling on top of him
"Wells stop, you're in one leg," Finn said dropping between them looking at the chancellor's son, and then turning to look at Ethan "Wait till is a fair fight," Finn said and Ethan put his hands back in his pockets and shrugged his shoulders
"The fucker just attacked me because I disagree with his girlfriend, can't ask me not to defend myself," Ethan said and Finn nodded
"And I think he learned his lesson," Finn said and Ethan sighed
"You try that again and I'll punch back Wells," Ethan said as he walked to stand next to Bellamy with his back turned to the crowd and smirk slightly when he saw Bellamy look at him "What did I tell you, fucking sheep," Ethan whispered and Bellamy chuckled
"So, what's our move?" Bellamy whispered back and Ethan thought for a second
"I'm going with Clarke, you start throwing wood at the fire, start the chaos and if you can, try to look for some food," Ethan said and Bellamy nodded
"Why does it feel like I'm the one with a lot of jobs?" Bellamy asked rhetorically
"Is that or we switch places and you deal with space boy's flirting," Ethan said rhetorically
"What makes you think he will go?" Bellamy asked and Ethan chuckled turning around
"Let's just say he and Wells have something in common," Ethan said and both teens saw how Finn was approaching Clarke "Go talk to your sis, I'll take it from here," Ethan said and Bellamy nodded walking to where Octavia was flirting with Finn
Ethan saw Bellamy grab Octavia and went to where Finn, Clarke, and Wells were "So, Mount Weather when do we leave?" He heard Finn ask Clarke as he got closer
"Right now," Clarke said looking at Finn and then looking back at Wells "We'll be back tomorrow with food," Clarke said
"How are the two of you going to carry enough food for a hundred?" Wells asked in confusion and Finn turned around and grabbed the nearest two persons he could find
"Four of us, can we go now?" Finn asked and Clarke nodded and Ethan decided to make himself known
"Mind if I tag along?" Ethan said walking to the group and ignoring the death stare Wells was giving him
"You want to join us?" Clarke asked in curiosity
"You're kidding right, adventure and a high probability of death?" Ethan asked rhetorically "Fuck yeah I'm in," Ethan said making the group except for Wells smirk at his comment
"Sounds like a party, make it six," Octavia said walking to the group with Bellamy behind her sighing in annoyance
"Hey were you trying to take this off?" Clarke said noticing the scratch mark on Finn's wristband
"Yeah so?" Finn asked in confusion
"So, these wristbands transmit your vital signs to the Ark," Clarke said and Bellamy looked at Ethan, now fully trusting that what the teen had said was true "Take it off, and they'll think you're dead," Clarke said and Finn chuckled
"Should I care?" Finn asked sarcastically
"Well, I don't know do you want the people you love to think you're dead?" Clarke asked sarcastically "Do you want them to follow you here in two months? Because they won't if they think you're dying," Clarke said as the group grew quiet
"I suggest that we go, we don't have time for this," Ethan said and Clark nodded
"Yeah let's go," Clarke said turning to Wells
"Grey!" Bellamy said making the teen look at him "Make sure you don't die and protect my sister please," Bellamy said and Ethan looked at Octavia
"I'll promise you, your sister will be safe," Ethan said as Bellamy nodded and push Octavia forward lightly telling her to go with the group "Make sure you don't burn the place down Blake!" Ethan said as he and Octavia started following the other teens with Clarke behind them
"So, what were you talking about with my brother?" Octavia said as they stopped to let Clarke
"I know the guy who trained your brother in the guard corps, he talked a lot about your brother, so I had to know if what Bruce said was right," Ethan said with a smirk on his face
"And, did my brother meet your criteria?" Octavia said and Ethan looked back at the camp
"Time will tell," Ethan said as Clarke joined both teens
"Hey princess, before you get any ideas, Finn is mine," Octavia said glaring at Clarke
"And before you get any ideas, I don't care," Clarke said and Octavia huffed and walked faster to catch up with the other guys
Clarke looked at Ethan making the teen look back at her "I'm sorry about Wells, he shouldn't had try to punch you," Clarke said and Ethan chuckled
"You shouldn't be apologizing for your boyfriend's actions runaway," Ethan said and Clarke looked down
"He's not my boyfriend," Clarke grumbled and Ethan chuckled
"A lot of people are going to disagree with you, if he can't handle that, well he won't like his stay here all that much," Ethan said and Clarke nodded
"He shouldn't have come here," Clarke said and Ethan chuckled and nodded
"Let's pick up the pace before the group leaves us behind," Ethan said as he started walking faster
The two teens got to where the group was, and suddenly both teens found themselves leading the group with Clarke walking with purpose and Ethan scanning the area with his eyes
Ethan glanced back and saw Finn putting a flower in Octavia's hair and shook his head at the poor attempt at flirting
"Now, that my friend is game," The kid in goggles said to the Asian kid and the Asian kid chuckled
"That my friend, is poison sumac," The Asian kid said and Octavia quickly throw the flower to the ground
"What? It is?" Octavia asked in fear
"The flowers aren't poisonous, they're medicinal, calming actually," The Asian kid said eating a flower Ethan crouched down and touch the ground feeling the cold of the ground
"So, water is present on the ground, that means radiation hasn't affected everything," Ethan thought gabbing a bunch of earth and his attention was brought back when Clarke started talking
"Well, it's simple, I wonder, why haven't we seen any animals?" Clarke said and Ethan frowned as he started thinking "Maybe it's because there are none, maybe we've already been exposed to enough radiation to kill us," Clarke said and then turned around when she heard Ethan clear his throat
"I don't think radiation is going to be a problem," Ethan said standing up "If we believe the books about the war, the radiation present on Earth should have prevented life to exist, the fact that those flowers could grow, its promising enough," Ethan said and Clarke thought for a second
"And what about the animals?" Clarke asked in curiosity
"Well I have two theories, they went extinct because of the radiation back when the war was going on," Ethan said and then looked around "Or, and the most possible of the theories, we're in a rainforest and the only type of food we've seen are the poison sumac, there's nothing to eat here so animals are staying away from here," Ethan said shrugging his shoulders
"Whatever is it, we need to get to Mount Weather fast, let's go," Clarke said and started walking ahead
"Maybe someone should slip her some poison sumac," Octavia said and the guys chuckled as they kept walking behind Clarke, the blond making sure she was in hearing distance
"I got to know, what did you guys do to get busted?" Finn asked the two friends
"Sumac is not the only herb in the garden, if you know what I mean," Monty the Asian kid said with a smirk on his face
"Someone forgot to replace what we took," Jasper, the kid in the googles said and Monty sighed
"Someone has apologized like a thousand times," Monty said in annoyance
"How about you Octavia? What'd they get you for?" Jasper asked and Octavia fell silent as she glared ahead
"Being born," Octavia said in anger and Ethan put his hands in his pockets as he saw Clarke walking slowly to join the group a little bit
He hoped none of the group asked him why he was here, and sure he could say nothing, but he wanted to gain Clarke's trust and lying or not saying something will only make her mistrust him so when the question reached his ears, he prepared mentally to tell the story
"What about you Gray?" Finn asked with a smirk as Ethan grabbed a package of his cigarettes and prepare to take it out "Why are you here?" Finn asked with curiosity but the group stopped when they saw Ethan stop walking
Clarke stopped too and turned to look at Ethan with curiosity and she saw him taking out a cigarette and lit it up with a lighter
"How did you get those?" Clarke asked in curiosity as Ethan took a drag out of the cigarette
"A friend in a higher power," Ethan said and looked down at the floor "Mom was an angel, beautiful and unattainable, people loved her even if we were poor," Ethan said as the group stopped and gather around him "She always loved my father, even after his death, so she would always turn down anyone that tried to court her," Ethan said taking a drag out of his cigarette
"Until one man decided to ignore her rejection and take what he couldn't have," Ethan said blowing smoke in the process "This man was a guard, not an important one, but if we compare a guard to poor people, us poor people are always on the bottom of the food chain," Ethan said and the group looked at him in confusion not getting what he was saying except Clarke, she understood and her eyes winded in shock when she realized what he was saying
"So, he decided to take the forbidden fruit by force, so to speak," Ethan said "I was fifteen years old and walking back home from survivalist class when I met the guard in the hallway, he seemed odd and was walking on a limp," Ethan said taking a drag out of his cigarette "That's when I knew that something was off, and I run back home to find my mother crying with her clothes all torn apart bruises on her neck and arms, and other things that I'm not comfortable to speak of," Ethan said taking a drag out of his cigarette and blowing out some smoke while the group looked at him horrified
"What happened next?" Clarke asked her curiosity getting the best of her
"After I took care of my mother, I told her she should speak up, to get back at the bastard, but she didn't want to," Ethan said while taking a breath in "Listen, honey, we are poor, trash, if I speak up they're going to side with the guard, and I don't want to lose you or you to lose me, so please don't speak about it, that's what my mother told me," Ethan said taking another drag out of his cigarette
"So, I listen to her," Ethan said blowing out smoke "And kept quiet, but the guard got scared, you see mom fought back, and injured the guard, so when they asked him what happened, he told the council that he had caught my mother stealing medicine and she had fought back and runaway, the bastard didn't think twice about throwing my mother under the bus," Ethan said and glared at the floor
"What did the council do?" Clarke asked as she was the only one who could speak as the others were too shocked to say anything
"What do you think?" Ethan asked sarcastically looking at Clarke with a glare on his face "They took her, didn't even question her, and sentenced her to die," Ethan said taking a drag out of his cigarette and clenching his unoccupied fist in anger "I begged them to listen to me, that she didn't do it, that she was raped but they didn't want to listen to the poor kid over a guard of the ark," Ethan said
"I still remember that day, it haunts my dreams, my mother in that escape pod, looking at me, telling me everything was going to be alright, me begging Jaha to let my mother live," Ethan said glaring at the floor "I still remember his fucking words, I'm sorry son but the law is the law, that fucker said that and push the button to float my mom away," Ethan said taking a drag out of the cigarette
"I'm sorry but what does that have to do with your imprisonment?" Finn asked in curiosity as he found out his voice again and Clarke looked at Ethan in sympathy
"You kill him didn't you?" Clarke said and Ethan nodded not taking his eyes off of her and again shocking the rest of the group
"I break into the kitchen in the middle of the night after two weeks since they floated my mom," Ethan said "Took me a while but I hacked into the Ark's mainframe and searched where that idiot lived, once I did, I grabbed a knife from the kitchen and went into his room," Ethan said taking a final drag out of his cigarette
"He opened the door half asleep, and I didn't waste any time and lounged forward stabbing his stomach," Ethan said throwing the rest of the cigarette on the ground "He fell to the floor in shock bleeding from his stomach and I felt strong, he was scared of me, so I kicked his balls and I stabbed him again and again and again, I stabbed him fifteen times until he stopped breathing," Ethan said stepping on the cigarette
"Then I went to the council and turn myself in, hoping they'll kill me on the spot because of my horrible crime but they just locked me up, that's why I'm here," Ethan said as he started walking away to the direction they were heading to
Clarke got out of her shock first and walked to where Ethan was and started walking alongside him, Ethan looked at her in curiosity "Aren't you afraid of a killer like me?" Ethan asked in curiosity
"You aren't a killer, you're just broken like the rest of us," Clarke said and Ethan chuckled
"Thank you, I guess?" Ethan said sarcastically and Clarke chuckled but then both of them stopped when they were something in front of them
"No animals, huh?" Finn said as he crouched next to Clarke as the group stared at a deer that was in front of them
Finn took a step forward and stepped on a branch making the deer turn around in their direction the group gasped when they saw that the deer had two heads
"Well, that's the scariest shit I've ever seen," Ethan said and he stood up "Let's keep going guys," Ethan said looking at the sky "If I'm right we have at least 4 hours of sunlight, give or take of course," Ethan said starting walking again
They walked in silence for a while Ethan now leading the charge as he didn't want to deal with the judgment stares he was receiving from the group until the silence that surrounded the group was broken by Finn
"Hey, you know what I'd like to know?" Finn said as the group turned to look at him "Why send us down today after ninety-seven years? What changed?" Finn asked as Octavia started walking faster passing Ethan and now leading the group
"Who cares, I woke up in a cell," Octavia said and gabbed a tree and spun around "And now I'm spinning on the earth," she said as the group passed her without a thought
Octavia frowned when everyone ignore her but she felt a hand on her shoulder dan turned around "If it's of any consolation, I feel the same way," Ethan said and Octavia smiled as they continue walking
"The Ark is dying, Clarke said and everyone turned to look at her "At the current population level there are roughly about three months of life, maybe four now that we're here," Clarke said walking in front of the group
"So, that's the secret they locked you up to keep, why they kept you in solitary, floated your old man," Finn said and Ethan sighed
"Hey genius, maybe don't remind her about who she lost," Ethan said and Clarke smiled at him
"It's fine, yeah my dad was the engineer who discovered the flaw, he thought the people had a right to know," Clarke said "The council disagreed, my mother disagreed, they were afraid that it will cause panic, anyway we tried to go public when Wells," Clarke said not finishing the sentence
"He turned your dad in?" Monty asked and Ethan frowned for a moment
"Guess his love for his dad was bigger than the one for you, I'm sorry," Ethan said and Clarke nodded in appreciation
"Anyway the guards showed up before we could, that's why today, that's why it was worth the risk, even if we all die, at least they bought themselves more time," Clarke said
"They are going to kill more people, aren't they?" Monty asked and Clarke nodded
"Good, after what they did to me, I say float them all," Octavia said and Ethan chuckled
"You know they would've floated your brother if he hadn't come here, right?" Ethan said and Octavia looked at him in shock "First the poor so that the privilege can survive, that's the ark's way, it always has been that way," Ethan said and Octavia nodded as she continue walking
"We have to warn them," Finn said looking at Clarke and the blond girl smiled
"That was what my father said," Clarke said as both teens looked at each other in the eyes making Ethan roll his eyes
"Oh damm, I love Earth," Jasper said as the group glanced at where he was looking and saw Octavia taking her pants off and jumping down into a river
The group ran to where Octavia was except Ethan, he was starting to regret coming here, as he now realized he was surrounded by idiots, he sighed and walked slowly to where the group was
"There's not supposed to be a river here," Clarke said as Ethan arrived where the group was
"Well there is, so take your damm clothes off," Finn said and Ethan sighed as he saw the group preparing to take their clothes off
Then he saw something in the lake approaching Octavia and he guess he wasn't the only one that saw that as Jasper shouted before Ethan could
"Octavia get out of the water now!" Jasper said as the creature grabbed Octavia and brought her down into the water
Instincts kicked into Ethan's head as he took off his jacket and dropped the baton on the ground and sprinted into the lake "Try to get its attention away!" Ethan shouted as he dive in head-on and try to reach Octavia
He did and grabbed the arm of the black-haired girl and tried to jank her towards him but the creature had a hold on her leg, so Ethan hugged the girl and kicked the creature on its head making it let go of Octavia
Ethan heard a rock dropped on the lake as the creature swam away and Ethan swim up with Octavia in his arms as they both gasped for air, he was going on full instincts as he swam to the shore leading Octavia to safety
Ethan passed Octavia to Jasper who pull her up Ethan climbed up and looked back to see that the creature had almost bitten his leg
He catches his breath before turning to look at Octavia in worry "You alright?" Ethan asked and Octavia lunged forward and hugged him to death
"Thank you, thank you," Octavia said as Ethan patted her back and Clarke ripped a piece of Jasper's shirt to tie it around the wound of Octavia
"You're going to be okay," Clarke said as Octavia let go of Ethan and looked at Clarke with appreciation
Ethan stood up and Monty put a hand on his shoulder "Note to self, next tome rescue the girl," Monty said and Ethan chuckled
"You'll get your shot next time," Ethan said as he grabbed his shirt by the waist end and took it off revealing his slim figure to the group making the two girls blush slightly when they saw him
"What are you doing?" Clarke asked and Ethan curled up his shirt and squeeze it letting the water that on his shirt pour out
"Not going to wear a wet shirt runaway," Ethan said smirking, and then looked at the sky "I suggest we make camp, try to gather ourselves, and then continue tomorrow morning," Ethan said as he put his shirt back again
"I agree," Clarke said as she stood up and handed Ethan his stuff that she had carried "I'm not even going to ask how you have a baton," Clarke said and Ethan smirked as he grabbed his jacket and put it on
"I'm a criminal, I steal shit," Ethan said putting the baton on his back and crouching down to where Octavia was
"Think you can walk?" Ethan asked and Octavia nodded as she tied to stand up but winced and fell to the ground but before she hit the ground Ethan caught her "Easy there champ, I got you," Ethan said as he put Octavia's arm around his neck and put a hand on her waist
"Lead the way Clarke," Ethan said and the blond nodded as the group walked away from the area and tried to find an area to lay low
It didn't take much but the group had found an area that suited their needs and the group got some rest as the night came around
It was the middle of the night when something woke Ethan up, he stood up and looked around and saw that Clarke and Finn were missing, he got goosebumps on the back of his neck as he felt like someone or something was staring at him
He looked back but found nothing, his gut told him to walk forward and he did, even if it was an idiotic thing to do, he felt numbed like something was pulling him forward and he couldn't do anything about it
He then felt something slide across his feet and looked down to see a big snake sliding in front of him, the snake looked at him and lift its head up as it tied itself along Ethan's right leg before sliding away
Ethan lost his breath for a second before continuing walking forward ignoring the weird snake he had seen and then he heard two caws coming from on top of him
He looked up and saw two silver-black crows perched in the trees looking straight at him, the crows flew towards him and Ethan stood still as the crows perched on his shoulders
Ethan looked at the crows in amazement as they nipped his head and flew away, Ethan looked at where the birds had flown away before continue walking
And after everything he witnessed he wasn't surprised by what he saw next, he saw an enormous black wolf with red bright eyes that seemed to stare down at his soul
Ethan crouched down and put his hand forward following what his gut was telling him and the wolf walked forward and sniffed his hand, he licked it before putting its head in front of Ethan's and licking the face of the black-haired teen
The wolf looked at him before turning away and running into the forest, Ethan turned around to where the wolf had run away and he grew confused
"What in the hell is going on?" Ethan asked out loud and then his eyes winded when he heard a peal of laughter coming from behind him
Ethan turned around and saw a blond woman, dressed in black rags with her belly and legs exposed and tattoos running along her arms, legs, and lip
"It's been too long, prince," The woman said in a whisper and Ethan looked at her in confusion
"Prince? Who the hell are you?" Ethan asked in confusion and the woman laughed
"I have many names my prince," the woman said still in a whispering noise, and started to walk forward "You coming?" The woman said glancing at Ethan with a raised eyebrow
Ethan sighed and shook his head as he walked to where the woman was "Am I dreaming or something? Because this doesn't feel real," Ethan said as the pair walked through the forest
"You are indeed dreaming," The woman said "But that doesn't mean this isn't real, wouldn't you agree?" The woman said and Ethan found himself agreeing with the woman
"So what is this, some kind of hallucination?" Ethan asked and the woman chuckled
"You could say that, yet this isn't that," The woman said as they reached an open area with a big blue sea in front of them "Tell me, young prince, do you believe in reincarnation?" The woman asked and Ethan frowned
"I don't really believe in anything, to be honest," Ethan said and the woman nodded
"That's fair, after what you've been through I don't expect you to actually believe in something," The woman said "But the fact of the matter is, reincarnation is real, your people made it real," The woman said
"My people?" Ethan asked in curiosity
"The ark wasn't the only method of survival young prince, but I don't want to tell you much about it, you'll need to figure that out for yourself," The woman said and she looked at the sea
"You have lived many lives, just like me," The woman said, "Tell me young prince, have you ever done things that weren't in your nature, or figure out stuff that you shouldn't have known?" The woman asked and Ethan frowned
"I lived my whole life in space, I shouldn't have been able to swim to save Octavia, but I did," Ethan said as the women started circling around Ethan
"What were you thinking when you saved her?" The woman said still circling around Ethan
"I wasn't, I just acted, it was like I wasn't in control of my body for a second," Ethan said looking straight at the ocean in front of him
"You may think this is your instincts controlling you but they aren't," The woman said from Ethan's behind "These are the skills and actions of the people that came before you, you will learn to harness that, and you, my prince will become a king," The woman said as she stood in front of him and Ethan saw four figures stand in the ocean looking at him
"Are those?" Ethan said as the woman smiled and grabbed his cheeks
"Yes, they're the people that came before you, and once you're ready they'll come to your aid," The woman said and Ethan then looked at her in curiosity
"Wait, are you one of my ancestors?" Ethan asked and the woman chuckled
"No, am afraid I'm not," The woman said as she turned around and looked at the sea "I'm your second in command, your confidant, your partner, and your guide," The woman said each time looking at a different figure "We always found love in one another, but not the kind of love a couple has, one of partnership and blood, and this time around won't be any different," The woman said turning around to face him
"When the time is right I will find you my prince, but until then, trust in your instincts," The woman said holding again the cheeks of Ethan "Let the crows guide your steps, be smart and cunning like the snake, and draw strength from the wolf, those tools will help you survive my prince," The woman said and Ethan nodded
"Stay safe my prince," The woman said as the image in front of Ethan faded away in a bright light
Ethan blinked as he found himself back where he was sleeping, he looked around and saw that it was already morning
"Hey, are you okay?" He heard Octavia ask him in concern and he sat up and looked at her
"Yeah, I'm fine why?" Ethan asked as he rubbed his face trying to get rid of his sleepiness
"You were trashing and mumbling while you slept," Octavia said and Ethan sighed
"Sorry, I had a bad dream, I didn't wake you, did I?" Ethan asked and Octavia shook her head
"No you didn't, don't worry about it," Octavia said with a smile Ethan nodded and looked around and noticed the empty area
"Where are the others?" Ethan asked in curiosity
"They went ahead to try and figure a way to cross the river without us having to swim on it, and I volunteer to wake you up," Octavia said and Ethan chuckled
"Thank you you're a real sweetheart," Ethan said and Octavia smiled as the black-haired man stood up "Let's get going before those idiots leave us behind," Ethan said helping Octavia stand up
The pair walked to where the rest of the group was and saw Finn and Jasper holding a rope
"Come on Finn, you said you wanted to go first so quit stalling," Clarke said and Finn smiled
"That's the big idea swing across the lake?" Ethan asked in curiosity
"Is that or going around the lake," Clarke said and Ethan nodded as he looked across the lake and ignore all conversation
"If that dream was real, then how in the hell I'm going to meet that woman?" Ethan thought as he glared at the distance "She wasn't on the dropship, so where?" Ethan thought as he saw Jasper swinging and landing across the lake
Ethan smiled as the rest of the group cheered but then a strange feeling surrounded his body, his eyesight narrowed, he felt goosebumps on the back of his neck and he felt like the world had stopped
He looked at the land where Jasper had fallen and wonder what in the hell was wrong "The lake, is a fucking border," Ethan thought and quickly shout at Jasper
"Jasper, get the fuck down!" Ethan said as he crouched down just in time to dodge a flying spear that flew directly at the kid with goggles hitting him straight in the chest "Fuck, everyone find cover!" Ethan shouted as the group moved to stand behind the rocks to cover themselves
"We're not alone," Clarke said in fear as the group looked around in fear
