A day has passed since the events with the lake monster, so after all the excitement that caused, Anne, spider-man, and sprig decide to hang out in the basement so that they can get to know each other more.
In the said basement, Anne had laid all of the items she had in her backpack, with both sprig and spider-man looking through the items.
"wow, Anne look at all your cool stuff!" Sprig said looking at all the scattered items. "What's this? Ah, I get it, the torture device."
"That's a toenail clipper," Anne said casually.
"Also it's kinda gross," Spider-Man said, with Anne giving him a mock offended look.
"Oh says the little man-spider," Anne said in jest
"Actually that was my first idea for my hero name," Spider-Man said turning the joke into a fact. Anne just rolled her eyes with a small smile."whateves," she said.
"Oh, hey Spider-Man, you got any cool stuff you brought from home?" Sprig asked with excitement.
"Oh, yea I just have some backup clothes my phone, and some backup web cartridges,"
"Back to what? What?" Sprig asked confused.
"Oh they contain the web fluid I use," Peter said showing them his web shooters.
"Wait so you don't actually shoot those from your wrist?" Asked sprig slightly shocked by the revelation.
"Yea I thought those were organic too?" Anne asked confused by the revelation.
"Unfortunately no O built these babies myself? Peter said proudly.
"Huh that's actually pretty cool webs," Anne said with a smile.
"Wow, so those web things work like this?" Sprig asked as he pulled out a pen and started to rapidly click it repeatedly. "Oh man I love this'" he said as he temporarily stopped. "This is amazing." He said as resumed back to clicking.
Anne looked on while Spider-man decide to go more in-depth.
"No actually it's pretty fascinating how it works, you see-" Peter was interrupted by the clinging of a bell.
"Kids chow time," called hop pop from upstairs.
"Oh thank god!" Anne said relieved that she didn't have to hear Spider-Man's explanation of how the web cartridges work. it was like school all over again.
—
"Time to eat! Time to eat!" Time to eat! Anne and the two frogs chanted, except for Peter who was waiting patiently.
"Hold on, you kids, hold on," hop pop said while he was getting the soup in the bowl.
He then slid the brown of ... Portage to Anne and Peter. Which said portage had dead and alive bugs mixed into it, with a spider walking out of the bow, overall it looked disgusting.
Peter and Anne looked in disgust." You know what, I think I'm gonna pass," she said while sliding the bowl back.
Hop pop narrowed his eyes in annoyance at Anne. "Why is my food not good enough for the princess," he asked sarcastically.
Peter however shook his. "You know what it's probably one of these French things, where the food looks gross but is actually really good," Peter said while scooping some of the food and eating it.
Anne looked on with disgust and nearly gagged. "We gross dude!". Peter however eat the thing and swallowed, he had a blank expression and motioned Anne to come close,
Anne did what he gestured and leaned in close, to what he had to say. "This is the worst thing I've ever eaten in my entire, I regretted every moment of that," he said while setting back up.
"Thanks hop pop that was delicious," he lied with a smile.
Hop pop's frown disappeared, and he smiled at Spider-Man. "Well at least one of you kids appreciates my cooking," he said while making bowls for Polly and sprig.
Anne looked at Spider-Man man confused. "Dude why didn't you just tell him it was bad," she whispered.
"Because he was the only person in this town that was kind enough, to let us live with him," He whispered back. "Also it would kinda be rude if we just insulted his cooking right into his face, he said with one of his eye lenses eyes up, looking like an eyebrow raised.
"What no I'm just being honest, and besides," she said turning to hop pop with a smug smile. "If I'm the princess, then your the king of bad cooking. She said as the two planter kids looked at Anne with shock, with sprig dropping his spoon mouth agape,
"Oh oh ooh!" The two amphibians cheered at the witty response.
Spider-Man's eye lenses widened in shock at his roommate's rudeness, kinda reminded him of flash Thompson, and he didn't like that.
"Oh yeah? Well, you... I..." hop pop said trying to think of a good comeback.
"What's the matter hop pop? Frog in your throat?" Anne said with a smirk.
"Ooohh!" Polly cheered
"Oh, she got you again!" Sprig cheered.
"Ok, Anne seriously!?" Peter said getting tired of Anne's behavior.
Hop pop however finally had enough. "Oh dang it!" He said with frustration as he threw his spoon down and stood up from his chair. "You know what?! I'm gonna take a nap," he said storming off to his room. I don't believe this. I feed you, I house you, and this is how you repay me?" He said as he turned around to look at the two teenagers, with Spider-Man flinching at his stair, "If you two don't shape up, I'M THROWING YOU OUT!" He yelled slamming the door hard and shaking the house a bit.
"Wait what did I do?" Spider-Man asked in a panic.
"Yeesh, what's his problem?" She asked raising an eyebrow.
Spider-Man turned and glared at her, or more accurately narrowed his lenses. " oh I don't know Anne? maybe it could be that you just mocked him after all after everything he's done for you!" He said annoyed by her.
"What? Oh, come on I was just having some fun," she said in defense.
"Well yea, it's all fun and games until he kicks us about," he said before pointing at her. "Which now includes me getting kicked out too. So yea thanks for that by the way.
Anne waved at him dismissively, not taking anything he said seriously. "Dude relax he isn't going to kick us out, besides what is he gonna do?" Anne said before grabbing the sides of her hair. "I'm hop pop, and I cook bad and have a bad temper problem," she said in a mocking hop pop voice,"
Sprig and Polly laughed at the imitation, while petter crossed his arms getting more annoyed.
"That is so hop pop," sprig said chuckling.
Anne grabbed hop pops short cane going even further with the joke. "Eat your aphids, don't play with them, ELBOWS OFF THE TABLE!"
Sprig and Polly laughed hysterically while Peter looked on unamused.
"Sometimes I wonder why I even bother putting up with you at all!" Anne said, as she hit the top of the cane with the table, unfortunately, this would cause the top to break off with a snap.
The two planter kids looked on in horror gasping.
"Ugh, seriously Anne?!" Peter asked finally having enough of the act.
"What? It was just an accident!" She said not getting annoyed by Peter for being a wet blanket. "Besides it's just a stupid old cane,"
"Yea, I don't think they're going to agree with that," he said pointing over to Polly and sprig who had their jaws open looking on with horror.
"Oh man, this isn't good, you just broke hop pops one and only special cane, "he said pointing over to a wall of pictures. Anne cringed as she realized that she just messed up big time. "It"s Been in the family for generations, it was passed down from his father hop poppity pop, all the way from his father, hop and lock drop soppity pop." He said pointing to two pictures that showed old frogs that were about the same age as hop pop.
"That's uh... a lot of foresight to be naming your kids like that," Spider-Man said rubbing his gin in confusion, he shook his head and remembered the situation.
"Ok, ok let's all calm down and think about this," trying to not lose his own cool.
"Dude I can't calm down, if he finds out about this, he's gonna kick me out!" Anne said before she realized something that made her freeze in her tracks." That means I'm gonna have to live out in I forest for the next two months," she said with her pupils shrinking.
Anne remembered the time she first arrived in amphibia when she lived in a cave that was filled to the brim with Bugs, she would always shake in both from terror and from the cold temperatures.
"The night was the hardest," she said shivering.
"Woah, I guess I should count myself lucky for coming here later," Peter said gratefully that he didn't have to experience what Anne went through.
"Don't worry Anne, we'll do whatever it takes to help you," he said reassuringly, surely Polly would agree-
"Eh count me out," she said bluntly.
"Polly!" Sprig said in disbelief.
"What?! I hardly know her!" She said in defense.
"Would you help me with one of these?" She said pulling out a snacker's candy bar."
The wait isn't that from that knock 7/11 story 6/12 that sells bad off-brand junk? Peter though
She gasped in childlike wonder as she looked at the candy bar. "Candy from another world! Lady, you got yourself a deal,"
"Yea count me in too," Peter said. Anne looked at him with surprise.
"Wait you're helping me too?!" Anne said thinking that he wouldn't since he seemed annoyed.
"Well duh I'm your friend and an official superhero, I help people in need even if they are annoying. He said reassuringly.
Even though Peter didn't like how Anne treated hop pop, she knew that she didn't mean Anything bad by it, and besides he's her friend, so it wouldn't be right to just push her under the bus like that anyways.
Anne was both touched and slightly annoyed she he... well.. called her annoying but, was still touched nonetheless.
"Awe thanks dude, that means a lot, she said with a smile, she said with a smile.
Spider-Man returned that smile, "No problem," he said giving her a thumbs up.
"Now let's try to save my skin," she said with determination.
"Don't worry I got you covered," Peter said as he gestured for Anne to give him the two broken stick pieces. He put the wood pieces back together and webbed up the sides, making it while again.
Anne, sprig, and Polly cheered, finally solving the issue.
"Woah we did it," sprig cheered.
"Way to go spidey," Anne said as she suddenly hugged Spider-Man. Peter was not prepared for this sudden hug attack, but boy was he grateful that the mask hid his blush,
Anne realizing the situation she was in immediately let go of the hug, she looked down at the floor, blushing a little. "Uh s-sorry and uh thanks," she said stuttering.
"N-no problem," he also stuttered. Looking at the floor too.
There was an awkward silence before Polly spoke up. "Oh man that was so cool, you handled that like a pro-Spider-Man!" sprig said.
"Actually that is just gonna hold on together for a few hours," Peter said snapping out of his embarrassment.
"Wait what?" Anne said also snapping out of her own embarrassment and replacing it with worry.
"Yea that stuff is gonna dissolve soon, so I recommend we try to look for someone that knows how to fix it," Peter suggested.
"Yea that sounds like a good, who do we ask?" Anne said, hoping for an answer.
"Ooh, ooh, guys I know someone!" He said raising his hand excitedly. "We can go to Leopoldo loggia, the wood-smith, he loves wood... Almost a little too much."
—-
Leopold loggles wood-shop, a place filled with much exotic wood like items, he also for some reason had a jar full of termites which confused Peter to no end.
"Why would a wood-smith need termites?" Peter muttered to himself.
Mr. Loggles himself was a balding light blue axolotl with dark bluegills. He looked middled aged, he had a gray mustache that curved down, and he wore green goggles around his face. He also wore craftsmen's clothing with dirty boots that looked to be covered in mud, with a brown apron and a faded yellow shirt with a red bandanna around his neck.
"Uh, huh, oh, oh, yes, well aren't you fascinating? Yes, you are!" He muttered to himself. While holding the no de-webbed cane, Peter thought it would be better for him to inspect it, although he kinda regretted it since it encouraged him to do... that.
"Ok so there is having a Hobbie and then... there's this, Peter said whispering to Anne.
"Yea and I thought hop pop had weird and interest," Anne whispered back, before turning her attention back to loggle. "So can you fix it?"
"As a matter of fact I caaaann-not. The woods-smith said weirdly, putting the broken cane downs.
The kid's smile dropped. "Huh, can you make a new one?" Sprig asked hopefully.
"Absolutelyyyyyy-no way!" Loggle said.
The kids started to get annoyed, with Peter holding the bridge of his nose. Already sensing a pattern.
"Ok can we like, buy it?" Peter asked getting a little frustrated.
"Of course I dooooo,-" the kids started to look happy. " -nt ," I don't," he said plainly
"Jesus Christ, ok what's up with prolonged rejections," Peter asked getting more frustrated.
"One, I do t know who Jesus fellow is, and second, "he said turning serious. Old smithing accident. You don't wanna know"
"... Uh okay so-"
"Tripped on an old anvil. Landed neck first on a metal pipe. "He interrupted, slamming his hands on the table. "Pierced my voice box clean through!" He said as he lowered his bandanna. Showing that large puncture on his throat.
"Blegh" Polly gagged in disgust. "DUDE! Come on!" Anne said I equal disgust.
"Cool" sprig said more amazed than disgusted.
"Ok, I could've lived my entire life without seeing that," said Peter said looking away at the deformity.
"Switched over to wood After that." He said pulling the bandanna to his neck, before pulling up his goggles revealing his squinted eyes."Anyhow, I'm Afraid I can't do much for you. "He said walking to a shelf and pulling a book. "That cane was made with wood from the incredibly rare, extremely dangerous," he said opening the book to a page that showed a withered evil-looking tree. "Doom tree!"
All the kids gasped as they saw the page, even Peter who got a bad vibe by just staring at it.
Loggles eyes suddenly opened revealing them to be yellow with dark green pupils. "Few have made it to the doom tree alive, and fewer yet returned. It holds many secrets that mortals dare not-"
"Dude, it's a tree!" Anne interrupted. " just tell us where it is!" She said pointing her finger.
"Yea loggle, cut the chit-chat!" Sprig demanded.
"You're bold!" Polly said Rudely.
"Ok, ok, enough, guys," Spider-Man said trying to calm everyone down, before turning to loggle. "Sorry about them, anyways can you tell me how to reach this tree, like maybe a map." He asked
"Actually yes I do happen to have the map to the doom tree, which I would've said before I was rudely interrupted!" Foggle said slightly peeved, "ahem, anyways as I was saying, I do have the map but it will cost ya-"
"Click," said Anne as she took a picture of the map from her phone. And showed it to him.
"Or you could do that for free," said slightly defeated. making Peter feel a bit bad.
"Even if this tree is dangerous, it doesn't matter because we got an actual superhero with us!" Anne said pointing at Spider-Man behind her. With Spider-Man standing up straight in pride.
"Ok but just be careful, what I said was true about that tree, so I'd keep an eye out if I were you," loggle warned.
"Alright, come on guys let's act fast, we only got a few hours at most before hop pop wakes up!" Spider-Man said as he ran out.
Wait hold on Ann said as Polly jumped from sprigs head to Anne, with Anne running after Spider-Man.
"YEA ADVENTURE!" Sprig yelled excitedly. As he also ran after the three. But sprig came back upon noticing a weird buff statue of loggle.
"Woah, loggle! We've gotta talk about this man, we're coming back. Alright goodbye," he said as he turned around and ran after the others.
"I am very lonely," said loggle.
—
The journey turned out to be shorter than expected, for the four kids. It only took going to death ridge to going to the location where death tree was in a mere thirty minutes. Although Peter couldn't help but still have a bad feeling about the place.
Up in the sky was a firefly well... flying until. A bird-like creature ate it, but then suddenly that same bird creature was eaten by a giant firefly, only in amphibia would such a wired accuracy happen.
Down below the kids were walking in the forest with Spider-Man and Anne waking away stray leaves and vines. But then Anne noticed something in the far distance.
"Wait! hold up guys," Peter said holding up his hand. "Anne pull up your picture of the map."
Anne did what she was told and held up her phone, to look at the map, showing the doom tree and comparing it to what they saw.
"Are we at the spot?" Peter asked Anne hoping she would say yes.
Anne looked up and smiled." Yup, and man that is an ugly tree." She said putting her phone back.
"Just one of the mother natures horrible mistakes," Sprig said happily.
The four kids walked up to the tree. But as Peter walked up to eat he suddenly felt his spidey senses tingling, this immediately got him on alert. "Uh, guys my spidey senses are tingling!"
He said in a panic.
Anne and sprig froze in their tracks with panic also on their faces, remembering what happened yesterday at the lake.
"Wait spider what's?" Asked a confused Polly, who was also curious about why Anne, sprig, and the spider guy looked worried.
"It's when I sense the danger near me," he said as he looked around for whatever was causing his senses to tingle.
"Which means something bad is near," Anne said as she glanced around the area.
"Wait so that tree is actually cursed!" Polly said who also started to worry.
"What? No way it's probably something that's near us!" Said anne still not believing that the tree is actually cursed, and was more worried about something coming.
"Alright let's just go get branch and leave," said Spider-Man as he speed walked to the doom tree, however as he kept walking towards the tree, his spidey senses started to get more erratic, to the point where it was almost defeaning.
Peter stopped and looked up at the tree before his lenses widened in terror as he realized.
"Dude! Come one, we gotta hurry" said Anne as she walked past Spider-Man and started to climb the tree.
"Anne wait!" Spider-Man said in a panic as he shot a web at Anne's back and pulled her back. With Anne almost fell on the ground almost losing her balance.
"Dude! What the heck!" Anne said as she looked at Spider-Man, wanting to know why he just pulled her back when there is a high chance of some sort of monster coming near.
"Look I'm pretty sure that tree is what's causing my spidey senses to tingle, so I think that we shouldn't even go near it!" Peter said as he was trying to come up with an alternative idea.
"What but we can't just come back empty-handed!" Anne argued not wanting her and possibly Spider-Man to get kicked out.
"Don't worry, I think I've got an idea," Peter said in a pose.
Polly looked at Spider-Man, with her flipper on her chin, "Are you... are you pooping?" Polly asked weirdly.
"What? no! I'm preparing to do this," Peter said as he put his arm out.
Thwip
Spider-Man's web attached itself to one of the branches of the tree. Spider-Man the. Pulled hard breaking the branch and yanking it, he caught it in his hand.
"Huh well that was surprising-"peter was suddenly interrupted by his own spidey senses, he turned behind him. To hear a terrifying screech.
All four kids watch on in terror as they saw the monster get up standing up glaring at them, with its bulbous red eye, and it's razor-sharp teeth.
The large stick bug-like monster roared at them. Spraying down orange liquid covering them in it.
Sprig for some ungodly reason decided it was a good idea to lick it. "Oh hey, it's maple." He said smiling.
"RUN!" Anne shouted in terror.
All for kids ran for their lives, as the stick-bug monster, ran chasing close behind them.
"Ah spidey do something," Anne screamed at Spider-Man to help.
"On it!" He said turning around and shooting his webs at the monster.
The webs stuck to the creature's face. Spider-Man jumped and kicked its face, then shot two more webs at its shoulders bashing it to the ground. He then made a second jump and repeatedly shot webs at the creature making it stick to the ground, while it struggled.
Spider-Man landed next to the group, who were staring at him in awe.
"Dude you did," sprig said running up to Spider-Man.
"Yea You know what that was easier than I-" Spider-Man was interrupted as the creature ripped out of its webbing, roaring at them in rage.
All four turned to the monster, terror as it slowly marched towards them.
"Any other bright ideas?!" Said Anne in sarcastic panic, as she and the others hid for shelter.
"Yea I got a few," said Peter as he turned to sprig. "Sprig please tell me you still got that one buddy".
—-
Back at loggles shop, with the sun rising, loggle was outside closing the shop for the day. "Sigh, we'll loggle another day, another step closer to bankruptcy-Eh!" He said but was suddenly surprised when Spider-Man ran up to him in a panic.
"BAH! Spider-Man? what are you doing here?" Asked loggle confused about why he was here again so late I. The afternoon.
"Loggle, can you give me that jar of termites you have in Your store please!" Peter asked desperately.
"Uh sure but it's gonna costs ya,".
"I don't have any money but what about this?" Pete said pulling up the pen Anne gave sprig earlier in the day.
"What? What is this uh?" Pete then started to rapport click the pen.
"Oooooh let me see that," Peter then handed loggle the pen, after taking the pen loggle also started to rapidly click the pen. "Oh, this!" He said while rapidly clicking the pen. "I like this!" He said still rapidly clicking the pen. "The jar is yours."
"Yes!" Said Peter as he ran into the store, and then ran out carrying the termite jar.
"Thanks, loggle" Peter called out as he ran back into the forest to save his friends.
"Yea sure," said loggle as he yet still rapidly clicked the pen... he's gonna be there for a while.
—
Back in the forest, the kids were hiding behind a large log, as the large stick bug was looking for them.
"Come on Spidey, any day now," Anne said as she shook a little.
As she and the others were hiding a group of bugs got out from an opening from the oh and started to crawl on her face much to her discomfort, "AAAHHH!" Anne screamed as she got the bugs off her.
Unfortunately, this caused the stick bug to notice her, in which the stick bug walked over and flipped the tree over with ease.
It glared down at the three with a deadly glare.
All three huddled together in hopes that it would somehow save them.
"Now would be a good time to help spidey
!" Anne said hoping that Spider-Man would hear her cry.
"Hey ugly!" Spider-Man said as he appeared Behind the creature. The creature turned around and glared at the webhead.
The stick bug roared at him charging at him.
Spider-Man then brought up the jar and pulled it back preparing to throw it. " and screw you too!" Quipped Peter as he threw the jar at the monster.
The jar smashed into the stocking's face, shattering on impact. Which caused all of the hungry termites to swarm around the bug, eating it.
Once the termites dispersed, Peter thought that it would've ended up killing it, However, it survived and... was a weird green slimy thing.
Anne, sprig, and Polly walked next to Spider-Man, staring at it with blank expressions.
"Cool," sprig said in awe.
"Uuuuuhhh," Polly said in confusion.
"This world is messed up," Anne said with Peter nodding.
"You have no idea," Peter stated with exhaustion.
The... now disgraced stick bug walked away with its tiny legs, leaving to god knows where, honestly none of them cared, they were just glad it was over.
"Well hey at least we still have the stick," Anne said holding up the cane.
unfortunately, the termites returned and climbed up Anne's arm to the cane. "Gah! Get it off, get it off!" She said throwing the cane on the floor. Leaving the termites to eat cane, who after eating the cane dispersed leaving nothing behind.
The kids stared slack-jawed in disbelief. All that effort, and almost dying, all for nothing.
"Probably a bad time to bring this up but I still get the candy... right?" Polly asked.
—-
When the kids returned home it was already night, with a half-blood moon in the sky.
Hop pop opened the door of his room yawning and stretching his arms, "oh boy, I needed that. Hope nothing happened while I was asleep, to make me mad again," he said with a smile that quickly faded upon seeing the four battle damaged kids."oh no. What did you do?" He said grumpily.
"What's up with canes? Who even needs them these days," said sprig leaning on Polly's bucket, who looked at him unamused. "Am I right? Sprig asked as Polly smacked him. "Ow!"
"Sigh, I am really sorry hop pop," Anne said sadly, opening up her backpack and pulling out the broken crane. "I was goofing around and I broke your favorite cane," she said handing over the cane to him.
Hop pop looked over the broken pieces in disbelief. "You WHAT!?"
"I know, I know, I'll show myself out, but please let Spidey stay, he had nothing to do with this and tried to talk me out of acting like this," she said turning, walking away, but before she could walk out Spider-Man and the planter kids approached her.
"Wait Anne if your leaving," Peter said as he put his hand on her shoulder. "I'm leaving," Peter said seriously, shocking Anne.
"Wait, what? Why? You had nothing to do with this, heck you even tried to convince me to stop." Anne said shocked that Spider-Man would leave with her.
"I know, I know, but it wouldn't be right as your friend, to just leave you out there all alone," Spider-Man said seriously.
Anne was touched by Spider-Man's willingness to help her after everything she's done to him, she can barely believe only a few days ago that she treated him so poorly, it almost brought her to tears.
"Awe thanks," said Anne in a shaky voice as she hugged him, with Peter hugging her back, with sprig and Polly joking in the hug.
"D-don't worry guys we'll come to visit you!" Said spring as he started to cry.
"And just when I was starting to like you!" Said Polly as she too also started to cry. This caused everyone to cry, including Peter, even though it wasn't visible due to his mask, who was shedding a few tears.
"Hopidia looked on with confusion. " what the? What's going on?" He asked scratching his head.
Anne looked up confused. "You're throwing me out like you said you would."
Hop pop smiled with guilt as he walked over to the kids. "Anne, truth be told, I was never gonna throw you out.
"Huh?" Peter said surprised.
"Well, I was just talking stuff, so that you could show me a little bit of respect." He said trying to cheer them up.
"Wow, that is pretty messed up, Though me and puffy hair over here we're gonna have to eat big soup for a while. Peter joked.
"He yea," Anne shivered at the thought. Just thinking about, makes me scared."
"Heh heh heh, yeeeaa, I probably was a bit too harsh. "But I only did it because you remind me of myself when I was your age." He said with a warm smile. "Rough around the edges, now put that bag down, you and Spider-Man are going nowhere.
Sprig and Polly cheered, as Anne and Spider-Man looked at each other and smiled, finally glad that it was all over.
"So your not mad about the cane?" Anne asked hopefully, which caused a letter to smack his face.
"Oh, I'm furious about the cane," hop pop said with a straining smile. Before turning angry. You on dish duty for a month!"
Anne flinched but quickly smiled." Yes sir!" She said saluting. And dropping her backpack.
"Oh, and spidey," she said turning to Spider-Man.
"Yea puffy?" Peter said jokingly.
Anne rolled her eyes before continuing. "Sorry for How I acted this morning." She apologized before looking down. "And uh thanks for helping out today, that was really nice of you," Anne said gratefully.
Peter smiled warmly under his masked, glad for Anne. "Hey it's what I do, I mean I am your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man after all.
"Now that that's settled, I wrote a long list of comebacks to get back for this morning," hop pop said as he pulled out a list. "Ahem, hey Anne, is that your hair, or is it a dandelion? HA!" The kids just looked on with blank expressions. "Uh, oh! are those long, lanky limbs, Anne, or are those, uh twigs? He he." Sprig coughed with the same blank expression. "The moment has passed, hasn't it." Hop pop said in defeat.
"Hey, if you want, I could help you out with some good comebacks," Peter asked politely.
"Yes, I would like that very much thank you."
