This is a rewrite of a fanfic I wrote back and published on back on 2017, I recovered my interest on it a few weeks ago and decided to give it a try again.
I'm adding more description to the chapters and backstory to the characters, I felt that the story was too flat and that the passing was a little too rushed. If you want to read the original story you can search for it on FF, my username is the same and the title is too, the cover is the same but in red.
I also have to warn you that some things may get a little Game of Throne or Reign-ish in a slightly political and dark way but the world of Descendants can be read that way with Ben becoming king even though Beast is more than capable of reigning instead, or how his first decree is received by the Auradonian royals, the broken engagement with Audrey, some things mentioned in his reunion with the sidekick council on the first Descendants book, etc.
I accept criticism as long as its respectful and constructive.

After returning from the Isle of the Lost, Ben had been thinking about the Villain Kids that were left there living on those harsh conditions (he hadn't really known about the lack of infrastructure on the isle) and their villain parents.
Dizzy Tremaine had no evil or mean bone in her body unlike her mother or grandmother.
Freddie Facillier was mischievous but not evil.
The kids of the Anti-Hero club wanted to be good and were kind, at least that was what Mal and the others said about them. Also he knew that Yen Sid wouldn't lie on his reports about their advances on Remedial Goodness or the name that they were using on their reunion's classes.
On the other hand, Uma, Harry Hook and Gil wanted to stay evil as their parents, or so they seemed to want to stay.
Ben had to admit that during his kidnapping he had only talked to the captain and while their chat had shed some light on the issues that his initial proclamation had caused when he had only thought about bringing only four kids to Auradon. But the truth be told no one had known at back then how many children they could have managed at the same time;no one could really blame him for that, could they?
He was kind of disappointed when Uma refused to take the chance that was offered to her, but it also made him realize that not everyone wanted to reform. Though some part of him knew that him being her worst enemy's boyfriend didn't help much to his offer since she could have thought that he was playing her and their short conversation didn't really help them to get to know each other.
Anyway…
And after the cotillion he was considering a new decree, now he only had to tell the council since they didn't really get a vote on this kind of things, their job was mostly to council and let him know about the necessities of all of the regions that Auradon had.
He was studying the possibility to bring more Villain Kids to Auradon.
Dizzy was already invited at Evie's request, also Yen Sid had written to him about the Anti-Hero Club members and Evie was dropping hints about other kids who may deserve a chance to come to Auradon as they weren't yet corrupted by the Isle.
He called a meeting with some of the members of the council each representing their region: Cinderella and Charming, Aurora and Phillip, Li Shang and Mulan, Snow White, Captain Phoebus de Chateaupers, Aladdin, Queen Elsa of Arendelle, Queen Clarion of the Fairies, Hercules, Robin Hood, Emperor Kuzco and King Milo of Atlantis. Of course his parents and the VK's were present too.
All of them looked curious about what he was going to say, even after a few months of reign he knew that many of them, if not most, were doubtful about him and they weren't exactly keen on listening to him about serious stuff and still turned to his father to address some subjects.
"I'm thinking about bringing a few kids from the Isle" He simply announced, it would be better if the just dropped the bomb and waited their reactions than to give them a long explanation about why he was thinking about doing that.
Charming looked annoyed as well as Aurora and Phillip, but Cinderella was looking disapprovingly at her husband. Snow White sighed and suddenly she seemed more interested on the content of her tea cup. Li Shang, Mulan, Robin Hood and Captain Phoebus were waiting for more information; they were among the few council members that actually thought that he was doing a decent job as king. The others were muttering things under their breath and Ben didn't know if it was a good sign or not.
"But I wanted to inform you on who is going to come so that you won't be surprised when they arrive" Ben said and read the papers he had on his hand, Evie had helped them to write them but he had also written some names that he considered that were not going to be a problem in Auradon "As you may know I decided to bring Dizzy Tremaine daughter of Drizella… Also Yen Sid, who has been living and teaching in the Isle for twenty years has formed group called the Anti- Hero Club for the Villain Kids who want to reform; among them are: Claudine Frollo,Hadie son of Hades, Yzla daughter of Yzma, Eddie Balthazar, Diego de Vil, Hermie Bing, Big Murph…he is the son of one of the pirates of the Jolly Roger, Harold son of Horace, Jason son of Jasper, and on the other hand I decided to add some kids that Yen Sid has talked about on his reports: Harriet Hook, Melinoe daughter of Hades,Hal son of Hans, Henry son of Prince John and Anthony Tremaine son of Anastasia.
All of the present council members started to talk at the same time creating chaos. Some of them were almost yelling forgetting about their so polished manners.
Ben was getting stressed by it.
Mal looked sick and shared a look with Evie who was almost tranquil as she had known that they would not react well to the new decree, Jay was just looking to the side trying and Carlos was just hugging Dude as a way to escape the commotion.
"I don't want more Villain Kids near my son" Charming said furiously and put his fist on the table under the disapproving look of his wide "Especially the Tremaine"
"If they are supervised I see no problem in bringing them from the Isle" Li Shang said at the same time as a counter argument, he trusted his daughter's word about the kids being just misunderstood.
"Does that dinosaur have children?!" Kuzco asked/yelled surprised, he didn't like the thought of that even though he knew that Yzma had taken an important role as his caretaker, and well he reached adulthood, didn't he?
"Peter and my fairies won't be happy" Queen Clarion muttered, she didn't actually consider if Captain Hook had children and thought of it preoccupied her since he was known as someone who hated children, how did he raise them?,but on the other hand she knew that there was a chance that they would be like him.
"I'm sure that Yen Sid has good sense" Milo said absently, he had only met the wizard twice on his life but he had caused a great impression on him and he trusted the old man to make good judgment on the children he was teaching on the Isle.
"Everyone deserves a second chance in life" Elsa said confidently, she knew that from experience "The kids are not responsible for the crimes of their parents"
Then they all fell silent, they always did when the Ice Queen spoke, when Ben coughed a little to catch their attention and said: "Could you speak one by one?"
"They deserve a chance" Cinderella said with a soft voice while putting a hand on her husband's arm to calm him down "Anastasia was not an evil woman"
"They are villains raised by their parents, Ella" Charming protested and moved his wife's arm away a little bit overwhelmed by emotion "They are no good…"
"I'm sorry to point this out but your wife was raised by a villain and she is a good person" Evie pointed out interrupting him and she started to get a little fired up "While your son…"
"Don't talk about my son that way!" Charming fumed.
They fell silent again when Beast put both of his hands on the table and looked at each of them with a serious expression and Milo asked to the VK's: "What do we know about those kids?"
"Dizzy has no evil bone in her body" Evie said with a faint smile "She is actually the only one of Drizella's daugthers that is nice" Then said with a face "Anthony is… snobbish but he always looked as if he could live in Auradon, but also he wanted to stay evil the last time we saw him" She looked to her friends who nodded remembering the encounter and Carlos blushed a little when he remembered that he had tried to fight the guy.
"But Yen Sid said that he dropped his friendship with the Gastons and Ginny Gothel so we can give him a chance" Ben said without raising his look from the report papers that he had.
"Hadie is a prankster and Melinoe is a poor little thing" Mal continued with a little contempt" I don't know many things about Hermie Bing or Eddie Balthazar, just that they used to hang around the Frollo Creperie"
"Harriet is nothing like her siblings, she is one of the nice-ish ones…at least to her crew" Carlos commented crossing his arms and trying to remember the older Hook kid " She truly cares about her crew as Big Murph" Then added "Claudine is truly shy and is totally scared of her father but can't help but still live with him" He noticed how Captain Phoebus grimaced at the thought of Judge Frollo. "Jace and Harry were my "friends", they are not evil just…stupid and eager to please….and my cousin Diego is just the average teenager who has a band"
"Hal is not nice or bad, he just accommodates to the situation" Jay said a little bit amused "He is a real prince if you know what I mean, more than his brothers"
Queen Elsa gave a small smile; no one knew if it was a good or a bad thing as she usually kept her cool during meetings.
"And the dinosaur's kid?" Kuzco asked curiously, Yzma…was okay-ish as a parent, they just had to look at him to know that.
"A little bit crazy and whiny but can be nice if you are in her good side" Evie answered and then grimaced "Unless you are her twin brother"
"Then we are settled?" Ben asked after a few minutes of deliberation
Out of fifteen members of the council present, three were against the idea: Charming, Aurora and Phillip.
Kuzco,Snow White, Captain Phoebus and Queen Clarion abstained from voting.
The rest agreed but put one condition: They were going to be monitored by those who were wronged by their parents.
"It's just a mean of protection" Captain Phoebus explained the reason to all of them "We can't be sure about…the way they were raised"
"And we teach them goodness" completed Robin Hood with a smile.
"So…you are going to send a letter to them? "Mal asked to Ben in a hushed tone "Some of them don't know how to read or write"
"I was thinking about sending a letter to all of them but also having a representative to go there…just in case" Ben said with a reassuring smile.
"Who?" Asked Mal confused but then got the cue and shook her head.
"You" Ben responded trying to look at her eyes.
"Can we talk?" Mal asked and pointed at a corner with head, she knew that the council was trying to hear their conversation.
"There's no way I go back to the Isle" The fairy said in a distressed tone "Most of them hate us, well of the adults…"
"But the members of the Anti-Hero Club admire all of you, Yen Sid always writes about that" Ben tried to convince her "You can go with Evie, Jay and Carlos"
"Evie is more suited for this, she is your representative of sorts"
"You are the one who defied Maleficient and the one who defeated Uma"
"But I don't know how to deal with this kind of things, I'm not that good at treating with people."
"I know you can Mal" He said looking at her with pleading eyes and took her hand.
Mal looked at his eyes and sighed, he knew that she couldn't resist to her eyes. She closed her eyes for a few seconds while she considered it and then she said: "Damn…I will go but only if Evie,Carlos and Jay go with me"
Ben smiled in response and then turned to the concil.
About the characters:
-Dizzy appeared in Descendants 2
-Harriet Hook, Anthony Tremaine,Claudine Frollo,Diego de Vil, Hadie, Jason/Jace, Harold/Harry, Yzla,Eddie Balthazar, Hermie Bing and Bigh Murph appear or are mentioned in the books.
-Hal,Henry and Macaria are my OC's. Henry is the name of one of the actual sons of the real life Prince John. Melinoe is the name of one of the daugthers of Hades.
Even if the new proclamation brings sixteen children, only six will appear oftenly while the rest would be background characters. I decided to bring all the Anti-Hero Club because they deserve a chance and they actually want to be good. As for Harriet and Anthony they are not part of the club in the books so let's say that they decided to join for different reasons that will be explained int eh next chapters.
