"At long last, we can finally start our true objective," thought Pain in concentration.
His group, "The Akatsuki," has been acquiring funds for several years and making surrounding great villages military forces weaker due to not competing with their might and low prices of service. The 9 of them (excluding master Madara of course) had grown into a coherent force as he could manage without them backstabbing each other and getting their job done. He was glad he sent the Deidara Sasori group to their first target, Sasori's internal spy network and Deidara's aerial justsu proved greatly effective in overwhelming the Sand as they lifted the rocky entrance and came inside the cliffside hideout.
Both of the group was there along with one of Deidara's clay creation carrying Gaara of the Sand in its tail.
"Your late."
"Apologies, the jinchuriki was stronger than first thought," said the blond (although he did note that Deidara lost his left arm in the struggle, maybe he could make Zetsu give him a new one).
"Sasori, were you followed?"
"No, there was an attempt made by the foolish older brother of the Kazekage to follow us, but we put a stop to him, permanently," stated the puppeteer grimly, his voice being made gruffer and more ragged due to his puppeted outer shell.
"Hmm, excellent we will start at once then," doing his summoning justsu he summoned the hulking Demon Statue, causing the very earth to shake. He was always hesitant to summon this path again since the last time had ended in tragedy and mutilation of himself. Unfortunately, master Madara told him it was the only way to extract the power of the tail beast properly and handed him a scroll on how to activate this specific justsu. It would allow him to specify the target that needed to be drained instead of draining the broader area of its life force killing his associates in the process.
With the summoning done, he picked up on the group's chakra signatures and brought them forward in the form of light on each of the statue's outstretched hands, followed closely by the two in the flesh members being added to the group. Moving his projection to join them on the hands, he unhinged the chain that wrapped around the demon's mouth.
"The process will take three days and three nights. All of you keep your attention on your real body so as to not be snuck up on."
"Three days?" voiced the shark man. "Shouldn't we consider that such a long process could take longer than intended since we don't have Orochimaru with us?"
Pain then realized he did have a point, unfortunately, they didn't have anyone in reserves who was even half Orochimaru's chakra levels. So, all he said was, "If that's what you think Kisame then you'd best get right on it if you don't want to waste your precious time."
He thought for a moment before just sighing and giving a simple, "Indeed," before he got right to work.
As the nine of them poured chakra into the statue, each finger they were on lit up with a corresponding sign on their ring saying in order, "Spirit, Blue, White, Red, Boar, South, North, Three, and Sphere." With this, a blue aura filled the mouth of the statue ready to be unleashed upon the jinchuriki. Raising his hand he spoke aloud the Sealing Justsu "{Nine Phantom Dragons!}" to bring about the power of the justsu. As intended nine blue transparent dragons slithered out of the gaping maw of the statue going towards the Kazekage...
And banked left and right ramming into the walls of the cave violently each dragon rocketing off the walls again and again. "What's going on!?" Nagato yelled both angrily and confusingly inside his head.
"Heya boss, is this supposed to be happening?" asked a puzzled Hidan his eyes dazed by confusion.
Konan's projection then shot him a look filled with equal confusion yet laced with growing concern.
"This isn't how the scroll said it would work at all! Could Madara set me up? No, he's equally invested in this enterprise as all the rest of us, he wouldn't want it to fail like this." Pain thought hurriedly as the nine dragons continued to gain more and more speed until they filled the whole cavern with the blue hue of chakra.
"Hey guys," spoke Zetsu. "Is anyone else getting some sort of dragging feeling?" Indeed, they all felt it, a force pulling all of them somewhere else. With growing concern Pain tried to cut the connection with the projections, but they wouldn't give! Suddenly his spirit felt like it was rocketing forward unnaturally to who knows where as a brilliant light filled the room covering them all.
"Hmm, so this is the boss in the flesh, never thought I'd get to see you in person my man." said the blond looking over Pain
He was stirring awake, hearing the voice of Deidara he blinked his eyes to clear away the foggy vision his head having a skull-crushing headache. Despite this, he rubbed his eyes and stood up, immediately becoming internally panicked. He was in the cave, not as a projection, but in the flesh which wasn't even close to alarming as he felt... not whole. He was in the Deva Path body, Yahiko's body, still feeling the obvious deadness of the corpse, but he was IN this body, not as a path. He was trapped in the body of his friend.
Looking around he saw all of the nine were here in the flesh: Itachi, Kisame, Hidan, Kakazu, Zetsu, and Konan along with the two who were obviously here already. The rest who moved here were also just as dazed just now starting to move about, with the first being Hidan staring at him like a kid who saw a cripple.
"Woah! So, you're our Boss!?" he yelled in surprise with his voice bouncing off the walls. He wasn't surprised by both Deidara's and Hidan's reactions, after all, he never actually did meet them himself since they were relatively new additions to the group.
"Yes, yes it's me, let me address all of you," he spoke forcefully catching the attention of the rest of the Akatsuki. "Who messed up my Jutsu!?" he nearly growled out in his booming voice his ringed purple eyes glaring daggers at all of them.
"I didn't sense any interference when we put in our chakra, nor did it seem like you performed the Jutsu incorrectly," said the Uchiha coolly, looking at him with his inactivated eyes. "Could it have been an outside force?"
"That couldn't be it either!" shouted the puppet master. "I was very careful in making sure we weren't followed, if any response was to happen, it would've taken days if not weeks!"
"Sigh" it was frustrating, but he believed both of them. Pondering for a moment an idea came to him, "Zetsu, check the immediate perimeter outside, use the longest range."
"I know," Zetsu said going into the earth outside. Nagato was about to address them again but was caught off guard by Zetsu's return once again only a few seconds after he disappeared. "Pain, you might want to open the boulder. An interesting development has occurred outside."
Puzzled by the vague statement, he performed the justsu to lift the entrance to the cave. As the stone was being lifted, he could already see the "interesting development" Zetsu was talking about. When he picked this location for the Shukaku retrieval, he picked this location due to the proximity to the Sand and the cave being in a canyon with a river just outside being an excellent place not to get noticed by stumbling merchants.
However, upon lifting the stone he instantly knew they were transported. The river and the rock wall, further along, were gone with a small forest being seen spreading from eye level downward (most likely they were on a hill) with a village further away. The village couldn't be described as small, in fact, it was quite a large place with towering buildings, a dome building, and many other smaller ones going farther out of his sight. It reminded him of his home back in the rain, but it was most definitely not with the surroundings looking more like the forests in the land of fire.
"Man, what a view!" said the Fishman a little too loudly for his liking as they all gazed at the sunrise. It was indeed beautiful as the sun was rising reflecting off the supposedly glass-like buildings.
However, out of the corner of his left eye, he saw what looked like a flying...creature? It had the body of a tiger, and the wings of an eagle with its size allowing it to fly. It was flying towards them now before landing in front of them. Getting a better look, he would also add that the creature had a snake's head for a tail and was shocked when the creature spoke to them in a growling, yet feminine voice.
" I Am The Demon Level Threat, Lord Of The Mountains, What Are You Humans Doing On My Territory? Your Trying To Deforest This Place Huh!?"
"We were doing no such thing, and do not speak to us like that you vile creature." Said Pain looking down on the Lion Monster.
"What Did You Say!"
"Do not speak to your God like he is a lowly peasant." Not giving the creature time to react he used "{Banshō Ten'in}" to pull the creature towards him. Backing away, the other members gave him room as he pulled out a black receiver and stabbed it through the beast's head. It howled in pain for only a moment before dying in a weak whimper. He probably should've held back so it could've understood the mistake it made by talking down to him, but the creature was an abomination and God had to fix his mistakes.
Walking onto the creature, Pain sat down on the beast with a bored look on his face gazing down at his followers. "As I thought, this world is different than our own. In what ways I cannot be sure about yet, but we must stick together and be on the move now. Deidara, destroy all traces of this cave and the Kazekage along with it, were moving out."
"Huh!? I lost a literal arm getting Kage to this cave and you want me to blow him up like a new work of art!?" he yelled waving his "arm" around angrily.
"Deidara." he mused walking towards him, "We are in an unknown place, in an unknown world. I will not allow the rest of us to die in a cave waiting to drain someone of their chakra when we don't even know when or even if we can go back to our world. So, unless you want to die alongside your Kazekage, I suggest you do as I say." He was now bearing down his might on him not even giving proper breathing room to the man.
Luckily for him, Deidara only gave a snort and shrug as he walked back into the cave as they waited outside. As they waited Konan walked over to him as he was leaning on a tree with his back. "What is it Konan?"
"Nagato is that really you?" she asked in a whisper raising a brow at him.
"Sigh, yes it's me."
"And your-"
"Yes, I'm here, IN here to be precise."
"How is that even possible?" she asked shocked at the answer."
"I have no idea, BOOM, I'll answer you later." he finished as Deidara walked out of the inferno in the cave.
"I set a bigger explosion for later so the cave won't be there, enough time for us to get away. Where are we going now hm?"
That Village over there looks mostly uninhabited, we can find refuge inside one of those buildings if we don't get caught. Then we can come up with a proper plan. Let's move now, stay close to me," he ordered as they jumped off towards the city as they heard a much bigger explosion behind them.
Later: In City Z
"Acho!"
"Master, are you unwell?" asked the teen cyborg
"Nah Nah I'm fine Genos I'm not sick." Waved off the newly minted Cape Baldy
"Oh, then why would your sinus system malfunction like that?"
"I'm not a robot man, it's just my body's intuition. Which is pretty weird if you ask me, the last time I sneezed like this was when- DING DONG! Huh, who could that be?" wondered Saitama as he walked over to the door opening it.
"Yo, what's up my ma-!"
"SLAM!" slammed Saitama to the door. "Oh no my intuition was right it's neighbors, I haven't experienced this since I lived at those shitty apartment buildings! Breath Saitama, Breath. How bad could he be, you didn't get a good look at him maybe you just misjudged him." he said internally as he slowly opened up the door fully to get a good look at the man.
And almost closed it again... this guy was the worst person possible. He was blond, had a man-bun, a Hawaiian shirt, and sunglasses... at 8 in the morning! "This guy is a total jock like right out of a movie!"
"Hey my man, nice to meet cha, the names Garra I just looking at the real estate in this area, you have any clue what this place cost," Garra said smirking with what he could only pin as a frat boy smile.
Saitama gave a breath of relief saying, "Yeah man this whole building is free you can stay anywhere you like," hoping the frat boy wannabe moves as far away from him as possible.
"Ah great man, you seem like a nice guy, so we'll be staying in the room to the right of you!" he said increasing his smile, making Saitama want to die inside.
"Y-you said... we'll?."
"Oh yeah it's a new group experiment with me and 8 other peps, anyways I gotta get going to spice up the living space, thanks Baldy," said Garra waving his hand as he went to the apartment next to him.
"Master, your blood pressure seems to be rising exponentially, would you like to fill out this 40 minute survey to see if you're having a stroke."
"Sigh, no imma take a nap, I'm kinda done with today," he said closing the door, wondering what he did wrong in his life to deserve this.
"Wait a sec, did he only have one arm?"
