Alice POV

Her eyes glow a dark auburn. Her hair was like fire itself, and yet you couldn't look away. She was perfection. And yet who held her hand may have been the more startling. As he leaned towards her, the two of them sitting idly in the woods, it was unmistakable what was happening, and who it was.

"Alice, Alice, you okay?"

Emmet eyed me gently as I sat next to him on the couch. My head felt like it was throbbing, now more than ever. I stared at Emmet, his gentle expression held me back. I knew my visions were accurate but, this one was more than hurtful. It was too much like the ones I'd started having since last week. Almost too painful to know any one of could get sucked in. Sometimes, it was better not to tell. I forced a small smile to my lips. He didn't need to know, it'd be better if he didn't.

"I'm fine, Emmet. Thanks."

He didn't appear convinced. I wouldn't either if I were him. I jumped up at the sound of footsteps, I knew the familiar tread. Jasper emerged from the doorway, he eyed me protectively. Emmet and him stared at each other for a moment and he nodded. He walked over to me and gently placed an arm around my waist. He kissed the top of my head and I leaned back into him. The scent of his skin was better than any intoxication that this world could offer for me. A sharp click of heels told me all too well that Rosalie was here. She walked past me and took a seat next to Emmet, his arm immediately moving around her shoulders. She looked up at me and I tried to return to my normal perkiness. I couldn't let them know, not yet. There'd be time enough for that. After all, if we truly were a family what could break us apart?
