Disclaimer: They ain't mine…if they were then Scotty might actually exist…
Each Other
This case had really gotten to her and he knew it. She had left the office almost two hours ago and he hadn't heard from her. Calling her had proved to be futile, but he continued to try. He was worried about her and just hoped that she would be okay until Cragen let him leave.
It was a whole hour later when Cragen came out of his office and let him leave. He grabbed his jacket and bolted out of the bullpen. He ran down the stairs and jumped into his car.
He went by the apartment first and found it empty, expect for the cell phone sitting on the counter next to her badge. He also noticed that Scotty's bag was still missing from its place by the table in the foyer…I wonder if she ever picked him up…he thought to himself.
He then made his way to Maureen's apartment in Brooklyn. She usually picked Scotty up from daycare and watched him until Cragen let them go.
"Hey dad," Maureen greeted as she opened the door.
"Hey sweetie. Has Liv been by?" he asked.
"Yeah…she picked Scotty up about two hours ago," she answered slowly. "Is everything alright?"
"Yeah, I just haven't heard from her. Today was hard on her."
She nodded in understanding, "Have you tried the park? She loves taking him there, even though he isn't old enough to play on the playground yet."
"That's where I was headed next. She purposely left her phone at the apartment, so I can't call her."
"Well, come to think of it, she was kinda upset and distracted when she came here. I bet she is at the park."
"Yeah, thanks. I love you honey," he said as he exited the apartment.
He made his way to "their" spot in Central Park. Sitting on a bench overlooking one of the most beautiful ponds in the park was his beautiful wife, holding his son. He walked over to her and sat down. At the noise, Scotty looked over and grinned. His little arms reached out to his father to be taken.
Elliot gently pried his son from his wife's arms and placed him against his chest with on arm. His other arm found its way around Olivia's shoulder. At the contact, Olivia leaned into Elliot and snuggled into his side. She had been sitting there with her son wishing she would have brought her cell phone and called Elliot. Just as she was going to leave, he had shown up and without a word knew she needed him.
Olivia had always thought that no one would understand her and lover her, but when Elliot Stabler came along, she found out just how deep of a bond two people could have. When their son, Scott Jackson, was born, that bond just deepened.
Elliot leaned down and placed a kiss on his son's forehead and then one on Olivia's lips, "How are you honey? You worried me when I didn't hear from you."
Olivia looked into his deep blue eyes, "I'm sorry. I just needed to clear my head. You know Scotty always helps me do that, and this place is so pretty and I loved it when you found it."
"Its okay…I was just worried. I didn't know where you were and then Maur said that you had picked up Scotty and I still didn't know where you were. I just didn't like not knowing where you were. It scared me, but here you are and you're safe and that's all that matters."
"I'm sorry…really. I really didn't mean to leave my cell at the apartment, but when I didn't have it, it was okay. But I finally wanted to call you and I couldn't…I am so sorry."
"It's okay. Let's go home."
The trio left the park and headed home. Once back in the apartment, Elliot put Scotty in his crib. The boy had fallen asleep on the ride home. Elliot then sat on the couch and cuddled with Olivia.
In that moment life couldn't get any better. Sure cases would come and go and affect one or both of them, but in the end they had each other and their son and there was nothing else either could ask for.
A/N: I hope you guys enjoyed this…it was just something I wrote in Biology class.
