Maui Mall

2:00 PM

"Oh, crap." Dylan muttered under her breath.

She had just blown her cover; now Chris knew about Andy and Andy knew about Chris! This was her worst nightmare come true!

"Why did you just call me Chris?" Andy asked, his blue eyes staring her down; she wanted to melt into the ground.

"And what do you want to talk about with me?" Chris asked, with the slightest bit of suspicion underneath his silky, soft tone.

"Ummm… well the real question is why are you working at an Auntie Anne's?" Dylan asked, directing her question at Chris, hoping to get the focus off of her.

"I lost a bet. You didn't really think I would be working here for real, did you?" Chris scoffed.

Dylan blushed, and turned to Andy and gave him a shy smile hoping that he would just forget about what had just happened. But he looked pissed.

"Are you cheating on me, Dylan?" Andy asked, his facial expression softening. He seemed… upset and Dylan felt as if she was dying a slow, painful death.

She looked down at her platinum GUCCI flats. She lifted her head up and looked into Andy's eyes.

"Yes. I am cheating on you." She sighed.

Andy stiffened and grabbed his pretzel from Chris' hands. "Well, have a great life Dylan." He added just before he walked away, and out of Dylan's life… forever.

"So… why'd you do that? It's like you didn't even care that he was going to break up with you. I mean, you didn't have to admit to it." Chris asked shyly. It was the first time Dylan could see past his tough exterior.

"It just wasn't meant to be, I guess." Dylan responded, as she shrugged.

"Don't you get it, Dylan? Why else would we meet up in Hawaii; in this mall? We were meant to be." Chris said. Dylan had to admit, he was making some sense.

"Maybe you're right, Chris. I don't know; it seems like I don't know anything these days. I'm confused, and my love life sucks. I'm not sure of anything lately." Dylan sighed. She could feel the tears coming on.

"Why can't you just take that jump? It's not necessarily a bad thing. Put yourself out there. I promise, I'm not going to hurt you." Chris managed.

Just then, Dylan's phone vibrated, as did Chris'.

"Oh My God; Alicia's in the hospital!" Dylan read out loud.

"And so is Cam… and Kemp!" Chris exclaimed.

Kristen's POV

Kristen reached for another tissue as she sat next to Kemp's hospital bed, watching him in his state of peacefulness… but it was anything but peaceful. Kemp was seriously hurt; he had major blood loss and had been unconscious for nearly 15 hours.

She hadn't stopped sobbing since they arrived at the hospital yesterday afternoon.

"How's he doing?" she asked as the nurse came in to check on him.

"If he doesn't come out of this state by tomorrow, I'm afraid we'll have to take him off life support." She said with a sigh.

"That's only 4 hours! We can't let him die! I won't let him die!" Kristen sobbed into her tissue.

The nurse patted her on the back, and left the room to leave Kristen alone to cry.

Just then, Massie walked in.

She handed Kristen an extra-large Starbucks coffee.

Kristen stood up, and collapsed into Massie's arms.

"I love him, Mass." Kristen cried into her shoulder.

"I know you do, Kris." Massie comforted her as she patted her back in reassurance. "He'll be okay."

"I hope you're right, Massie." Kristen sighed.

Massie pulled away. "I've got to go check on Leesh. She just woke back up. Hopefully she doesn't have another breakdown. Ehmagawd, and did you hear about Cam? He's here too! Claire pushed him in front of a moving car! I've got to go check on her too. She won't stop crying. But I swear Cam deserved it; I mean, she caught him in bed with a prostitute!" She said as she headed for the door. She opened it, and turned back to Kristen. "Can you do me a favor?" she asked.

"Yea, sure." Kristen replied, not sure what Massie would need from her.

"Don't blame it on yourself." She said simply.

Kristen nodded and her eyes stung with tears. She had never heard Massie really talk about anyone but herself, and this might just have been the first time where Kristen saw that Massie Block was just a regular person.

Massie turned away and walked out of the room to leave Kristen alone.

She sat down into the chair next to Kemp's hospital bed. She made herself comfortable and drifted off into a deep sleep.

4 Hours Later…

"Ms. Gregory… Ms. Gregory, please wake up." Kristen heard someone shake her awake.

It was the nurse.

"We have to take him off life support." The nurse sighed.

"NO!!!"

It's short… but important!
