Maui Hospital
7:00 PM
What?! Kemp has died? David had committed suicide? What the hell is going on?
Kristen felt a loud ringing going off on her head. Had the nurse just said Kemp had died? Had David really just committed suicide?
"Ms. Gregory? Are you all right?" the nurse asked, putting her hand sympathetically on Kristen's tense shoulder.
Kristen put her head in-between her hands, as if to close out the world. Why did it always seem as if everybody was against her? When something good came her way, something always had to come to ruin it!
She could feel herself sweating like a pig. Why all of a sudden had it become so hot in here?
"Wh-what?!" Kristen managed to stutter out. "Kemp Hurley has died?"
Kristen looked up at the nurse with her wide navy eyes shining with tears. "Why, no. Who did you hear that from?" She looked gravely concerned.
"You! You just said that Kemp Hurley died! And he just said that David Beckham committed suicide!" Kristen argued. She was so confused.
"Honey, are you alright? Neither Kemp Hurley nor David Beckham have died." The nurse explained, using hand gestured to clearly get her point across.
Ehmagawd! Nothing happened?! It was all a dream? Well, more like a nightmare! But none of that mattered… everything was okay.
Kristen heard herself let out a loud sigh. "What a relief!" she said, exasperated.
"Are you sure you're okay, sweetie?" the nurse asked one last time.
"Yeah… I think so. Um, could you just get me an icepack or something?" Kristen asked, referring to her sweaty pits. Boy, a death scare can have a toll on a girl!
The nurse let out a loud laugh. "I can do better. The reason I woke you up is because Kemp Hurley has woken up from his state of unconsciousness! He'll be perfectly fine, and he's welcome to have visitors. I know you've been worried."
Kristen felt her face light up. She hopped out of her cheap, beaten-up hospital chair, following the nurse to Kemp's hospital room, weaving in-and-out of the crowds.
When they reached the outside door of Kemp's own personal room. She felt her heart rate quicken.
"I must warn you, even though he will be alright, he is in a very critical condition. Are you ready?" the nurse asked.
Kristen gulped as she felt her mouth get dry. She nodded, unsure.
The door creaked open, and Kristen saw a man, whose face looked almost… discombobulated. His lips were huge; they took up about a third of his face, and he was wearing an eye patch to cover the blood-shot eye. One of his nostrils had a tissue hanging out of it and there was a large scar that lay between his cheeks.
Kristen gasped. She had never seen him in such a state. He looked so ailing, but he had never seemed so sexy.
This was when it her: Kristen Gregory was in love with Kemp Hurley.
Alicia's POV
Alicia limped over to the reception area at the hospital, holding a luggage case. Luckily she hadn't been in that bad of a condition, and she had only needed to spend a day at the hospital. She hadn't told Josh she was leaving so early. He had gone out for his lunch and she wanted to leave without telling him. Quite honestly, she was fed up with him. Over the last couple days, he refused to leave her side! She liked being waited on in the beginning, but when he wanted to come in the stall with you when you were going to the bathroom… that was a different story.
A week ago, she was in love with Josh. But over the course of the week, and all the drama that had been occurring, she didn't feel the way she used to feel about him. She wasn't in love with him… she was in love with the past. And she had had enough of the past!
"Ms. Rivera, your car has been repaired and it has been put up front. Take care." The receptionist advised her.
"Thanks." She whispered. "Oh, and can you give this to the man who has been staying with me." She asked politely as she handed over a letter.
"Of course." She assured.
Alicia turned on her heel as she began to walk towards the exit of the hospital. She had to hurry if she planned on catching the next flight to New York. She limped carefully over to her yellow Ferrari. She slipped on her Chanel Sunglasses and sped out of the Parking Lot and onto the Maui Turnpike.
She blasted the radio to her favorite song, Sugar by Flo Rida. She began to sing along trying her best to keep her mind off Josh, but she couldn't help but think about the devastated look on his face when he found out Alicia had left him… for good.
Claire's POV
Claire held Cam's hand through it all. Through the X-Rays, the Cat-scan, the MRI. Through it all. She was there for him… like she had promised him.
He was lying down on his hospital bed. Luckily he was going to be all right. He had some broken bones here and there, but thank god that was it.
Claire sat with him, in pure silence. They hadn't talked all day. But it never felt like there was any dead air. Like them being there together… together… was enough.
Cam stared straight ahead, at nothing in particular. He avoided Claire's eye contact at all costs. He knew what conversation it would lead to if he looked into her sad eyes. But she never took her eyes off him. Cam could feel it.
Claire knew what he was thinking too. She knew that he regretted what he had done. But to be quite honest, she wasn't sure if she could forgive Cam for what he had done.
"Cam?" Claire asked in a whisper, her voice hoarse and scratchy.
"Hmm…" he responded, as if to answer.
"Tell me." She said in a tender voice. She managed to keep her cool, even though she could feel herself falling apart on the inside. But she wouldn't let that happen… not again. She had pushed Cam in front of a car the last time she had lost her cool, and she didn't want any more injuries!
"Tell you what, baby?" Cam asked, his voice cracking, trying to act as if he had no clue what she was referring to.
"Tell me why you did it. Why you went and got a prostitute. Why I wasn't good enough for you!" Claire challenged her volume mounting.
Silence.
"Cam." Claire stood up from her chair, tearing her hand out of his.
Cam finally looked up at Claire. Her eyes were full of tears. Why did he always have to do this to her?
"I…" he began.
"You what?!" she demanded. Okay, she definitely was not doing her best at maintain her cool.
"I don't love you anymore! Okay?! I'm sorry! I thought I did. I mean, when I saw you… I thought that everything would go back to the way things were… in high school. And it's just not. I don't. I just don't. I didn't want to hurt you, Claire!" he began shouting.
Claire was taken aback. She felt the tears pouring out of her eyes. She turned on her heels and ran. She wasn't sure where… but far, far away.
Wow. That took me a while. Anddd… I gotcha! I thought it was getting a little too dramatic.
Regarding some of your reviews, apparently my writing has been getting a little too intense for some of you, and all I have to say to that is if all of you think it's getting too crazy, then I'll change it up a bit. But don't worry, I have all this planned out, and it's going to get a little calmer from here on out.
Sooo… I hope you enjoyed!
Review Pleaseeee!
