Fast As The Wind Chapter 1

Hello everyone, NetherKing here, and this is my first fanfic. Hope you all enjoy it. This story takes place after the Hosu Incident, leading up to the summer camp. It will reorganize the practical exams at the end of season 2 a bit, but not by much. This is a bit of a shake up, as it adds my OC, Michael Allen, into class 1-A as a transfer student from America, like Pony from class 1-B. His quirk is called Velocity. It basically allows him to move at insane speeds, the highest clocked was just a hair shy of mach 2. How will he settle into the class? Will he prove himself? And how will he interact with Iida, considering the similarities of their quirks? Time to find out!

Side note: This story will be kept at rating of T cuz Bakugo's mouth.

The class had settled down, and Aizawa walked into the room. "Good, you're all seated. As I'm sure you have noticed, there's another desk in the room now. You're getting a transfer student from the U.S." he announced in his usual drone-on voice, his strained eyes barely able to stay open. He closed them for a moment, wishing he could just go to sleep, but teaching was more important. "Everyone welcome your new classmate, Michael Allen." Suddenly the door flew open with a gust of wind, and a boy appeared in front of the class next to Aizawa. He had short blonde hair that looked like he had been in a wind tunnel. His electric blue eyes were wide as his grin, his obvious excitement at being in the classroom was apparent, as he bounced on the balls of his feet, wearing the standard U.A school uniform. He spoke quite rapidly, and surprisingly, in perfect Japanese. "Hi everyone! It's an honor to meet you all and to be your classmate! I Hope we can get along and become friends!" Aizawa just sighed. He did not like enthusiasm. "Just take your seat. It's in the back so I don't feel your energy." he mumbled. "Aye aye, sensei!" He replied, saluting, before he suddenly vanished. A gust of wind flew through the middle of the classroom, and a few papers went flying. The class turned to where the gust was directed, and he was already sitting in his seat, his expression unchanged. "And no using your quirk when in the building." Aizawa added, sighing again. Michael nodded, leaving the class to question in their minds what his quirk was. Iida, however, had an idea. And the idea made him afraid. 'His quirk is like mine,' he thought. 'And what's more, he's probably faster than me based on just that one instance.'

At the lunchroom, Ashido, Kirishima, Kaminari, and Midoriya all crowded the blonde to get their questions answered. "How are you so fast?" "What's your quirk?" "Do you skydive or something? You look like it with that hair." Amazed that he was already getting the attention of his classmates and that they wanted to know about him, his grin was as wide as ever. "My quirk is called Velocity. It allows me to move at speeds way above the normal human body's limits. It's basically super speed, but it also increases my reaction time." Midoriya was already taking notes, mumbling to himself. "Your quirk is a lot like Iida's" Ashido thought aloud, with a finger to her chin. "Who's Iida? We could have a race!" Michael asked, eager to meet someone with a quirk similar to his.

Hearing his name, Iida walked over to the table he was at, tray in hands. "That would be me. I am Tenya Iida. I am the class representative, and I would love to race with you, should the faculty permit it, once the school day has concluded." he told the American. While he was smiling, he was feeling a bit jealous. 'I can take him' he thought to himself. "AWESOME!" Michael shouted, punching the air, jumping on his seat, an ecstatic look on his face. "It'll be nice to finally have some competition. No one back home is fast enough to keep up with me." He replied, unaware that he was making a scene in the cafeteria, until Tsu tapped him on the shoulder. "Maybe you should try to dial back the energy, ribbit." She told him, and he looked around, seeing that people were staring and giving him weird looks. He blushed, looking embarrassed, and sat back down.

"Still, I gotta say, your quirk is quite impressive." Ashido added, as Tsu sat down at the table with the others there. "I wouldn't be surprised if you were still faster than Iida." She then looked over at the teen, forgetting he was there. "Oops, sorry Iida. I didn't mean to offend you." While he was offended, he decided to be civil about it. "It's quite alright, Ashido. I know you didn't mean to, and I know that there are quirks stronger than mine. But it will not change my resolve to become a pro hero and carry on my family's legacy" he replied in his usual manner, but Midoriya could tell that Ashido's comment hurt Iida more than he let on, and so could Tsu. They looked at him worriedly as the others began to ask Michael more questions all throughout lunch.

At the end of the day, Class 1-A went over to the school track, Michael having gotten the ok for this friendly race from Mr. Aizawa, so long as they kept the track undamaged. Both Michael and Iida had put their P.E. outfits on, and were stretching in front of the start line. Yaoyorozu stood next to them. "This race will be first to the goal, 200 meters. You both will start running when I blow into my whistle" she told them. Up on the stands, Mineta grinned in his usual perverted way. "I wish she would blow on MY whistle," he chuckled, high-fiving Kaminari before the two got a good earful of Jiro's earphone jacks. "Be quiet, both of you" she commanded, never being able to stand either of them.

Back at the track, Yaoyorozu continued. "Once one of you crosses the finish line, the buzzer will sound and the race is over. I have set up a high-speed camera that will snap a picture as soon as the buzzer sounds for photo-finish proof. Clear?" The two boys nodded, getting into a running position. Iida looked dead ahead, determination on his face as he planned to win, while Michael looked over at Iida, his grin never leaving his face. Their classmates chatted amongst themselves, giving their predictions as to who they think would win. The only ones who looked worried were Midoriya, Tsu, and Uraraka. Deku and Tsu had told Uraraka what happened at lunch, and she believed that Ashido's comment hurt Iida a great deal too. "So do you think Iida will win this race, Deku?" the gravity girl asked. Midorya's worried expression only increased. "Based on what I've seen, I don't think so. He was able to move so fast we couldn't see him. Iida can only move that fast when he uses his Recipro Burst, like he did at the Sports Festival. And while Iida can certainly use that here, I still don't know if it's gonna be fast enough. We can only hope." He explained, and Uraraka looked back at Iida, her expression matching Midoriya's.

Shoji heard what Midoriya said, and thought about it. Tokoyami commented next to him. "The speed demon has the advantage against our friend." Shoji turned to him. "Are you sure?" The mouth on one of his tentacles asked. The bird boy nodded. "Even Dark Shadow is not able to keep up, and his eyes move faster than our own." Shoji pondered this, looking back at the track. Bakugo sat next to Kirishima, away from the other students. "Looks like four-eyes has got his work cut out for him" the explosive boy commented. "Yeah, this Michael guy is WAY faster." Kirishima agreed.

Yaoyorozu brought the whistle to her mouth, ready to start. "Are you ready? Set!" she then blew into the whistle. Iida started to run, his engine at full speeds, beginning to enter his Recipro Burst, but he hadn't moved more than 3 meters before the buzzer sounded, and felt a familiar gust of wind next to him, a cloud of dust and dirt in the lane next to him. Startled, he looked ahead, and his eyes widened as he saw Michael already at the finish line, jumping up and down. "I won! I won!" in a flash, he was back over at Iida. "No hard feelings?" He asked genuinely, offering his hand for a handshake. The class rep straightened up, and put on the most convincing smile he could. "Of course. Your quirk is amazing" he replied, trying to suppress his anger and jealousy as he shook the blonde's hand. He managed to fool most of the class, but a few could see through him. The trio worried for him before looked at each other, still surprised at how easily Michael won, not knowing what to think. Bakugo noticed Iida's jealousy, but was too busy being angry. "Where the hell does he get off having a powerful quirk like that?" he yelled, storming off as Kirishima chased after him, trying to defuse the blonde's temper. Todoroki stayed silent, but did take a mental note of one thing. 'He's definitely faster than almost every pro, even getting close to All-Might.'

As Michael ran over to the rest of the class to accept his congratulations, Iida balled his fists and turned his back, the anger on his face. 'Am I not good enough to be a pro? Can I still live up to the Ingenium name? Is this foreign transfer student going to replace me?' he thought to himself, looking at the ground, lightly shaking.

Well, what did you think? I plan to continue this further, let me know how I did!

Netherking out.
