I'm sorry, Kurt

Chapter 1: Quinn's Gone

Noah Puckerman held his daughter Lucy as he sat by Kurt and Blaine Anderson while crying. Then he looks at Kurt and says, "I'm sorry, Kurt, for all the stuff I put you through after your mom died."

He then chuckles a little as Burt Hummel walks up to them, before Noah says, "Mr. H, did Quinn ever show you my gun closet?"

Burt chuckles and says, "You realize I was lying about having all the same guns? Right?"

Then he looks at Lucy and says, "Well, Puck, should I start calling you Mr. P now?"

Noah laughed as Kurt glared at Burt. Then he said, "Kurt, don't worry, I still have my paintball gun and a Super Soaker. Besides, she has a good ten years before I get as overprotective as your dad was. Plus, um, I have a huge bladder, and yeah, those balloons all came from me."

Then Blaine looks at Tracy as she plays with Rachel, and Noah chuckles as Kurt yells, "Really, Blaine?!"

Before Noah and Burt say together, "Stop worrying, Kurt. If you keep worrying, you'll give yourself a heart attack." As Blaine tries to stifle his laughter. Soon Noah gets quiet, and the men see him silently sobbing.

He soon was openly weeping as Rachel took Lucy into her arms before Noah storms out. Kurt and Blaine found Noah standing at Elizabeth Hummel's grave later, yelling, "I'm sorry for all I did to Kurt, okay! I'm not like Burt, Elizabeth! I can joke about it forever, but I can't do this! Quinn was right to give up Beth! I should never have tried to date her! I killed her by getting back together with her that second time, and I will just be a disappointment to Lucy too."

Then he fell to his knees, sobbing. Soon Kurt and Blaine were carrying him to Blaine's car. Noah lay down in the back, and he says, "I'm sorry, Kurt." as he cried until he went to sleep.

When Noah woke up, he was in bed and saw Burt standing in the doorway holding Lucy. As Burt looks at Lucy, he says, "It took me a while to find someone that made me feel like Elizabeth did, Puck. I know you are not like me, Carole, or Rachel. I also know this little girl needs you to be strong for her. I was drowning myself in my work and letting Kurt get away with a lot. Ha, I bet you will be a lot of boys' worse nightmares in thirteen years, and please don't yell at Elizabeth again. You can vent to me, but not her. Ha, she has heard enough from Kurt, I'm sure."

Noah chuckles and says, "I introduced myself as the neanderthal that reminded Kurt of you. Ha, I followed him there after Quinn got pregnant with Beth."

Soon Noah was throwing things around the room, yelling, "Why did you have to take her, you son of a bitch?! I know I wasn't the best boyfriend, and I tried to be the best husband for those six months we were together! But I didn't deserve to lose the best thing in my life! Why?" Before long, Kurt comes in with Blaine, and Burt hands Lucy to Kurt.

Then Burt takes Noah to Quinn's grave, not far from Elizabeth's. Noah falls to his knees and weeps for half an hour, never noticing Marley had come over with Jake. Then Jake says, "Blaine told me about your wife after the funeral, and I thought I would check on Puck. I know it isn't easy losing Quinn like that."

Soon Noah tackles Jake as he yells, "What do you know about easy? Do you think it was easy for me to watch my dad leave my mom for your whore of a mother? Do you think it was easy to watch Quinn's life slip away? While she was in a coma for two months? Do you think it's easy for me to go around town and not be reminded of Quinn everywhere I go? Losing Quinn is like a bullet to my heart and the fact that Lucy looks so much like Beth tears me up inside!"

Suddenly, Sam and Mike pull Noah off of Jake. Then Sam says, "Man, taking your anger out on Jake won't bring Quinn back."

Noah looks at Burt before he heads to his truck and says nothing. As Burt says, "Give him time, son. Remember how it took him and Rachel a while to get over Finn? We need to be there for him and help him through this."

An hour later, Noah watches Lucy sleep, as Burt is beside him. Then Noah says, "I was taking out my anger on Kurt and all the other kids I bullied after my dad deserted us. When I got Quinn pregnant, I stupidly thought I could be a better dad than him. Then she lies to Finn and gives Beth away to Shelby. I wanted Beth as much as Quinn did, but we both knew we were too young to raise a kid."

Then he looks at Burt and asks, "Mr. H, why aren't you in Washington right now?"

Burt looks at Lucy and says, "I stepped down because my new granddaughter needs me to keep her dad from going downhill. Puck, you became my son when Finn did. Besides, we both know Lucy will say what Kurt would always tell me before you know it."

Noah chuckles and says, "I'm so glad Kurt wasn't into me back in high school, and I think Blaine is glad I'm still straight. I'd probably be like you even if I were gay."

Then they hear Kurt panicking again as Blaine walks in holding Tracy, who whispers, "Uncle Nono, if a boy I like doesn't wet himself, meeting you or G' Pa Burt, that boy will be my boyfriend. I bet Lucy will pick her boyfriend the same way, and I'll try to keep Auntie Tana away from her." This makes Noah chuckle as Blaine and Burt separate Santana and Kurt, who yelled at each other.
