Chapter 15: Spy Mission in the Seireitei
Eternal War Realm
Naruto and Damonhart stares at the 2 dark gods with confusion.
"Mission, what mission is that?" said Naruto
"An espionage mission" said Chaos "You are going to scale out the Soul Society"
"The Soul Society?" said Naruto "Why?"
"Because it will make you even more powerful than ever" said Cosmos "And since you are even more evil than your predecessors, it's perfect for you"
"I don't understand" said Naruto
"50 years ago, your great-grandfather the 4th Overlord as destroyed Karakura and forged the Royal Key," said Chaos "That key opens the gate to the spirit king's palace"
"And where's the Key?" said Naruto
"The Key is in the Tower" said Damonhart "My Grandfather told me of its location"
"Oh, well that's all right" said Naruto "Chaos, tell me more about this mission?"
"You and Damonhart are to impersonate Reapers and scale out the Seireitei, the central command of the Soul Society" said Chaos "The mission is 3 years long so you can learn their techniques for you advantage against them when you decide to invade the Soul Society"
Naruto and Damonhart took a thought of this at a moment, conquering the soul society is quite new and since the 4th Overlord tried to do it but unable to due to his death. So this means that they'll finish what he started and plus get to learn their combat skills as bonus; they nod at each other.
"We accept" said the 2 Overlords
"Excellent" said Chaos as he snaps his clawed fingers.
Naruto and Damonhart are now wearing reaper robes with the insignia of a flower with the Kanji of "13".
"Go now, you are to impassionate reapers who are recruiting in Squad 13" said Chaos as he sends the 2 Overlords to the Soul Society "Be warned though, it will be at 10 years in the past for you Naruto and 3 years after your death, Damonhart"
"Why take us back in time?" asked Naruto
"So no one will suspect you as spies" said Chaos as he sees the Overlord's gone. "Good luck, my Dark Saint"
Soul Society: Rukon District
Naruto and Damonhart arrives at the soul society Rukon district; the place where the souls reside after death, it is the poorest but with the most freedom. It resembles a large village in feudal Japan, where the peasants lived in fear and the nobles lived in luxury. Oh Naruto and Damonhart hate that since it's the nobles that brought fear to the peasants and not them, but they are not here to pillage...not yet.
Naruto and Damonhart arrive at a dark alleyway so they can discuss how to infiltrate the Seireitei.
"Ok, we need to have names" said Damonhart "Even though were in the soul society, there are still other that'll recognize us, and it might be our old enemies"
"Good point" said Naruto "I think we should be brothers"
"Brothers?" said Damonhart "But I'm your father"
"I mean as our cover we should be brothers that graduated from the academy and is transferred to the barracks of this place over here" said Naruto as he points at the gates.
"Besides, you're in your mid 20s and I'm in my teens, doesn't sound right"
"I get your point" said Damonhart as he brushed his fringe away and ties it up. "And we need to change our appearance"
"Good Idea" said Naruto as puts up hand signs and said "Secret Genjutsu"
Naruto has now lost his "whiskers" and his hair style is less spiky and has a ponytail.
"So, what do you think?" said Naruto
"I hardly know you, Naruto" said Damonhart
"Nope, I not Naruto Namikaze" said Naruto "I am Vulpez, Vulpez Maelstrom"
"Clever, and since I'm your brother now" said Damonhart as he puts on some shades "Call me Kageoni"
"Cool" said Naruto "Let's go, Kageoni"
"Hai, Vulpez" said Damonhart as he and Naruto leaves the alleyway and heads for the gate.
Gate
The 2 Overlords arrive at the gate, it is 150ft tall and 100ft wide; not to mention extremely heavy.
"Er, how do we enter?" said Damonhart
"Knock?" said Naruto
"All right" said Damonhart as he walks close to the gate to knock until.
"Who goes there?"
"Huh" said Damonhart as a huge shadow covers him and Naruto; they look up to see a giant wearing a reapers robe and a fez. "Er, hi"
"Who are you?" said the Giant "What's your purpose of entering the seireitei?"
"We are transfers graduated from the Reaper academy" said Naruto "We were assigned to a squad due to our qualifications and skills"
"Hmm, the graduations is not till next week" said the giant
"I'm very clever and graduated fast" said Naruto "Along with my big brother here"
"Yo" said Damonhart
"What are your names?" said the Giant
"I'm Vulpez" said Naruto "And this is my brother Kageoni; what's yours?"
"I am Jidanbo, guardian of this gate" said the giant known as Jidanbo
"And hi to you again, Jidanbo" said Naruto nicely "Could you please open the gates for us"
"Er sorry I can't do that" said Jidanbo "Ever since the incident 40 years ago, the head captain gave exact orders to never open the gates to anyone unless you are a registered recruit of one of the squads, and the graduation transfers will not arrive here until next week"
"I see" said Naruto "If they arrive, will we be able to enter the Seireitei?"
"Of course, the Head captain will be welcoming them personally along with the other 11 captains"
"12 captains, I thought there are 13 captains" said Damonhart confused
"Well we do have a vacant spot for squad 7" said Jidanbo "It's been around like that since 40 years ago"
"Can I ask you another question, Jidanbo?" asked Naruto
"What is it?"
"Who's the head captain?" said Naruto "I'm sort of new in these parts and I haven't got use to being dead and all"
"Oh, the head captain is Lord Byakuya Kuchiki of the Kuchiki Clan" said Jidanbo
Naruto and Damonhart widened their eyes to hear that, Byakuya was at the Eternal war fighting against the Overlords; if he suspects them, then the mission is a bust"
"How did you not know him" said Jidanbo
"Well we died a few years ago, during the Overlord's tyranny" said Naruto "He slaughtered me and made my sisters into sex-slaves for his soldiers"
"How sad of you" said Jidanbo as he starts to wipe a tear from his eyes. "How could a fiend like him do such a thing?"
"Well he is evil" said Damonhart "He's probably burning in hell now since I heard of his death"
"Yes, Captain Minato was a great man of defeating that fiend" said Jidanbo
"Minato, as in Minato Namikaze, the Yondaime of Konoha?" said Damonhart
"Oh you've heard of him" said Jidanbo "Yes, Minato is captain of squad 9"
So Minato is a reaper now, quite a coincidence since he died to defeat me thought Damonhart "We'll we must be going, we'll stay at an Inn for a week until the transfer arrives. See ya, Jidanbo"
"See ya soon" said Jidanbo as he wave's goodbye to the Overlords in disguise "Such nice guys"
Naruto and Damonhart leaves the gate, they are getting worried that Byakuya and Minato would expose their Identity.
"You think they'll notice?" said Damonhart
"They're clever" said Naruto "They'll be tough to fool, especially when those incidents happened in the past, it appears that Byakuya is getting paranoid, and so is Minato"
"Minato is not the one who gets paranoid; paranoia clouds your focus as he is a shinobi of Konoha...well he was now he's dead" said Damonhart "So what do we do?"
"We wait" said Naruto "We have 3 years on this mission and we must not waste a day on it. We'll scan the Rukon district first and then the seireitei"
"Alright" said Damonhart "You're quite smart, son; just like your mother"
"I wish I could see her" said Naruto as he felt sad.
"Don't worry; I think she's here in the soul society" said Damonhart as he looks afar to the Seireitei "I can sense her"
Seireitei: Squad 9 barracks
In the Seireitei, Kushina Uzumaki Namikaze is now the lieutenant of Squad 9; as she is doing paperwork, she sneezed during her work.
"Are you alright, Kushina?"
Kushina looks up to see Minato, Captain of squad 9.
"Oh, yeah I'm fine Captain" said Kushina
"Please, I told you before" said Minato smiling at his lieutenant "Call me Minato"
"Sorry Minato" said Kushina
"Don't worry about it, I hope you are ready for next week" said Minato
"For what?" said Kushina
Minato sighs at Kushina as she occasionally a scatterbrain.
"For the annual welcoming of the new transfers from the academy" said Minato "Didn't you get the memo?
"I had so many messages from the hell butterflies that I still find it hard to understand them" said Kushina "I was dead for 3 years...and I..."
"I know, and I'm say for making that decision" said Minato
"If I hadn't betrayed his love, Naruto-kun would still have his mother" said Kushina
"The past is the past, Kushina" said Minato "Even though there is nothing you can do; let's just hope he has a new life"
"Okay" said Kushina as she continues doing her paperwork until she notices a note for Minato. "Oh, this is for you"
"Thanks" said Minato as he reads a message "*Groan* what does he want this time"
"What?" said Kushina
"Head Captain Kuchiki is summoning the captains about next week" said Minato "I need to go...oh and have the rest of the day off, Kushina"
"Aw, thanks Minato" said Kushina as she smiles at her captain. She stood up from her desk and pulls out a picture of herself as a little girl with a young blonde boy with a fringe and goofy grin.
Oh Damon-kun, I missed you thoughtKushina as she starts to caress the photo of young Damonhart and a tear seeping out her eye.
Squad 1 Meeting hall
Minato arrives at the meeting hall of Squad 1 barracks; Byakuya Kuchiki is now Head Captain of Squad 1 since the death of Head Captain Yamamoto in the winter war. Minato arrives at the meeting hall and bows to Byakuya. The room is filled with new captains of the 13 court guard Squads
Ezio Auditore da Firenze, Captain of Squad 2; he was assigned to be the replacement of former Captain Soifon during her missing arm from batting Espada Dos Barragan. Ezio has changed the squad from Special Ops to the Assassin brotherhood.
Uryu Ishida, Captain of Squad 3; he became captain when the winter incident cost him his physical form but his soul survived. He trains his recruits in the Quincy arts, making them skilled marksmen.
Orihime Inoue, Captain of Squad 4; she became captain during the same incident as Uryu, her physical body was destroyed, leaving her soul intact. She replaces Retsu Unohana due to resigning to the Royal guards; Orihime is now head of health.
Ichigo Kurosaki, Captain of Squad 5; after the winter war, Ichigo was promoted to Captain of squad 5 by Head captain Yamamoto before he died in battle against the 4th Overlord. He has matured after the winter war in Karakura, his hair has grown a few inches and he is has a little stubble on his chin.
Renji Ararai, Captain of Squad 6; after Byakuya became Head Captain, Renji was promoted and now in command of Squad 6.
Yasutora "Chad" Sado, captain of squad 8; he became captain when his predecessor Shusui Kyoraku retires and assigned to the royal guard.
Toshiro Hitsugaya, the original captain of squad 10; he is the only remaining captain that is still on duty while the others were assigned to the royal guard in the spirit king's palace.
Ikkaku Madarame, captain of squad 11 or "Squad Madarame"; after the winter war, Ikkaku became captain due to his captain Kenpachi Zaraki's death in battle against the 4th Overlord. He made a public funeral for his fallen captain and the whole squad paid their respects.
Leonardo Da Vinci, Captain of squad 12; Leonardo became the captain and 3rd president of Research and Development Institute after that madman Mayuri Kurotsuchi was assigned to the royal guard. Byakuya made Leonardo the captain of Squad 12 for his brilliant intellect and for aiding Ezio in his time as a human.
And finally Rukia Kuchiki, Captain of Squad 13; she was made captain by Jushiro Ukitake as he retired due to his sickness. Byakuya did not like the Idea but he must respect Ukitake's wishes and allows his sister to succeed as captain of Squad 13.
"Ah, Minato" said Byakuya "Good to see that you've arrived, come in"
"Thank you" said Minato as he enters the room and stood between Toshiro and Chad. "I see that a candidate for being captain of Squad 7 is not made yet"
"Lieutenant Iba is working on it" said Toshiro "It seems the chosen candidates weren't worthy enough to be the replacement captain"
"I see" said Minato "I hope a candidate is made, we could use some help"
"Si" said Ezio "Even though we are from different squads, we are still strong together"
"Huh, I rather work alone" said Ikkaku, being cocky
"Only a warmonger like you would say does things" said Ezio staring at the bald captain
"And only a coward like you would refuse it" said Ikkaku
Ezio and Ikkaku got along with each other, since Ezio was an Assassin and kills his opponent silently, Ikkaku sees him as a coward for not exposing himself to his enemies in battle. Ezio sees Ikkaku as a barbarian for foolishly charging to his death and keeps inflicting wounds in his battles.
"ENOUGH!"
This got everyone's attention as Byakuya intervened.
"We are not here to debate about Ezio and Ikkaku's opinion of battle" said Byakuya "We are here to discuss about next week's graduation"
"Are the recruits being registered to their squads?" said Rukia
"Hai" said Byakuya "Thanks to the examination programme, Ezio Auditore and Leonardo De Vinci created, we all have our group of recruits to train their designated squad."
"That's good" said Minato "Ever since I died 3 years ago, I'm starting to feel more like home"
"Well, you do get use to death, my friend" said Ezio "I've been dead for 500 years"
"Yeah, and I heard about you death" said Minato
"Please don't mention it" said Ezio as he looks away "It's too painful"
"I understand" said Minato
"So where will we pick up our new recruits?" asked Ichigo
"At the northern gate where Jidanbo guards" said Byakuya "You all have a week to prepare; Meeting adjourned"
The captains then start their leave and return to their duties in their barracks. Ezio is with his good old friend Leonardo, talking about their life…well afterlife; Ichigo is talking with Orihime, Chad and Uryu. Minato is leaves to the Squad 9 barracks and prepares for next week.
Next Week: Inn room
Naruto and Damonhart are resting in the inn near the gates; they had spent the whole week scanning around the Rukon district.
"Okay, let's recap" said Naruto "What did we learn about the Rukon District?"
"The Rukon district has 80 district, the district with the high number is the most violent of them all" said Damonhart "We appeared in the 3rd district, which is peaceful"
"Wouldn't this alert the reapers of our arrival?" said Naruto
"You did forget who sent us here" said Damonhart "We did not enter the soul society by a thing called a Senkaimon; that path is monitored heavily so going on a full assault will be difficult"
"I see" said Naruto "Well I think it's time to enter the Seireitei, good thing I sent my shadow clones to update the information in the Rukon district"
"It saves us time while we start scanning the Seireitei" said Damonhart
KNOCK
"Come in" said Naruto
The innkeeper enters the room.
"Excuse me sirs but the recruits are ready to leave" said the Innkeeper
"Thank you" said Naruto as he and Damonhart leave the room.
Gate
Naruto arrives at the gate were a large group of Reapers wait outside; they are all split up in 13 groups, one for each squad. Naruto and Damonhart stand near the 13th groups as they wear the Squad 13 emblem.
"Alright, form up on a neat line" said Jidanbo with his big booming voice. "The Captains will arrive at any moment"
The 13 groups formed up a line; then suddenly a black swallow-tailed butterfly flies towards the Giant's ear.
"Oh, they're here" said Jidanbo as he got the message from the butterfly "Stand back, I'm gonna open the gate"
The recruits obeyed as the giant slowly heaved the heavy door up with all his might; on the other side of the gate are the 12 captains that are waiting for the gate to open for them. They all exit the Seireitei and enter the Rukon district; Ezio has his reaper assassins on patrol to keep an eye for suspicious subjects.
"I Byakuya Kuchiki, Head Captain of the 13 court guard squads, personally congratulate you all of passing the academy" said Byakuya "Your are now members of the 13 court guard squads; those who are in my Squad, follow me"
The 1st group follows the head captain.
"If those who in the "Brotherhood", follow me" said Ezio as he too turns to leave, with the 2nd group following him.
"3rd Squad, follow me" said Uryu as he leaves with his new recruits.
"4th Squad, come with me" said Orihime nicely as she too leaves with her recruits.
"I am Ichigo Kurosaki, those who are in my squad follow me" said Ichigo
And the 5th Group follows the orange haired reaper captain; Naruto evilly grins at Ichigo as he never notices the Overlord in disguise.
"6th Squad, follow me" said Renji as he leaves.
Renji's recruits follow, Yasutora Sado steps forward, causing everyone to shudder at his huge structure.
"Relax" said Chad in a calm low voice "Those who are in my squad, please follow me"
The 8th group follows Yasutora "Chad" Sado, still freaked out of his huge appearance. Minato then steps forwards and smiles nicely at the recruits, the Minato fan girls squeal with excitement and tries to ask him for their autograph, he sweat drops at this and Damonhart secretly snickers at his little brother.
"Please, get back to your groups as I am ready to get my groups" said Minato as he sees the Fan girls moan in disappointment and returns to their groups "Thank you, now for those who are in my squad, follow me please"
Minato's new recruits follow him; some were his fan girls; which made Damonhart laugh silently as it hurts his stomach. And so Toshiro called for his group, then Leonardo called for his and left with his recruits.
"Alright, maggots" said Ikkaku as he slammed his Zanpakuto blade on the ground and stares at the "Rookies" that are assigned to his squad "Follow me and keep up…or I'll kill you"
"SIR, YES SIR!" shouts the 11th group as the quickly follow their captain.
All that's left is the 13th group, Naruto looks at the captain with amazement; Rukia Kuchiki has flowing raven hair with a bang between her navy blue eyes. She is petite than the other captains but appearances can be deceiving as she looks like a teenager but really she's about over 200 years old of so.
Wow, she's beautiful thought Naruto as he glances at the beautiful raven-haired captain.
It seems my son fell in love thought Damonhart as he notices the facial expression on Naruto's face. Well 3 years is a long time, maybe he can get along with her before we leave.
"Alright, you all come with me and we'll announce the introductions in the barracks" said Rukia as she turns to the gates and leaves to her barracks.
"Hai, captain" said the 13th Group, including Naruto and Damonhart as they follow their captain.
And it begins thought Naruto as he smirks evilly.
1 year later
A year has passed for the 2 Overlords in disguise and their process of scaling out the Seireitei is going well. Naruto was Lieutenant and Damonhart 3rd Seat Officer of Squad 13. Naruto is doing *shudder* paperwork in his office while he secretly draw charts of the soul society one a Shadow Clone diminishes and the information flows into his mind.
Well, our process is going well thought Naruto as he finished the charts of the 80th district known as "Zaraki". A year has passed and well scaled the Rukon District; we still need to scale more of the Seireitei, only 40% is scaled and it's really difficult due to Ezio and his "Assassins" on duty. Don't you agree…Kuroi Kitsune?
"Indeed, Naruto" said Naruto's sword's 2nd spirit known as Kuroi Kitsune, A year ago, when Naruto and Damonhart just entered the Squad 13 Barracks, Naruto externalized with his Sword De la Zorro and discovered that his sword has a different name…
(Flashback: a year ago)
CLANG
Naruto is having a sparring match with a squad member; Rukia is watching him and is amazed of his skills.
Incredible, he would even defeat Ichigo with that caliber thought Rukia as she starts to smirk at that thought I love to see the look on his face when he was defeated by a new recruit who just graduated.
"Take this!" yells Naruto as he knocks the squad member off his feet; then he feels his sword pulsing in his hands. De la Zorro?
"No, I do go by another name" said Naruto's sword as the area froze in time and a wolf-sized fox with pitch black fur and red eyes.
"Who are you?" said Naruto
"You haven't heard me because you couldn't reach me" said the black fox "Now that I can, I will tell you; I am…"
"Vulpez"
Rukia's voice echoes and he finds himself in on the ground.
"W-What happened" said Naruto
"You fell unconscious" said Rukia "And your Zanpakuto pulsed in you hand…what did you see?"
"I…I saw a fox, and I heard his name" said Naruto
"So you awoken your Zanpakuto's Shikai" said Rukia "What's it called?"
Naruto revealed the name.
"Kuroi Kitsune"
(Flashback ends)
The awakening of Naruto's 2nd Shikai has made him Lieutenant by Rukia. Naruto knows what Kuroi Kitsune's power does, it rivals Ichigo's Tenza Zangetsu by speed and strength, it even shows a resemblance to it but the guard is different as it resembles a smooth fox's tails.
KNOCK
"Enter" said Naruto as he sees Rukia arrives in the office; Naruto stood up and salutes to her "Captain"
"At ease, Vulpez" said Rukia "I'm just here to see if you're alright; you're working too much"
"Well I don't want you taking much of all the hard work, Captain" said Naruto smiling at his "Captain". "Besides, I'm nearly done"
"Oh that's good because you are being assigned to the world of the living" said Rukia "Some fresh air will help"
"Thank you, Captain" said Naruto "When do I leave?"
"I'll give you a few days to prepare" said Rukia "It's for a year and I'll need a report of your duty in the world of the living"
"I'll leave no detail untold" said Naruto as he starts to leave "I have to find my brother"
"I understand" said Rukia as she sees her "Lieutenant" leave the office. "Good day, Vulpez"
Naruto's room
Naruto has arrived to his room, where he sees Damonhart getting the reports from the Naruto Shadow Clones.
"…And that what's I learned about the Squad 11 Barracks" said the Naruto Clone.
"Thank you" said Damonhart as he writes up the details "Dismissed, Clone No.10
The Clone nods before it puffs in smoke.
"Next" said Damonhart as he calls in another Shadow Clone until Naruto arrives. "Oh, hi son"
"What's the process?" said Naruto
"Getting good" said Damonhart "We managed to get information on the 8th and 11th squad barracks"
"What about the others?"
"The 2nd Squad is a tough one and I'm will personally scale the 9th Squad Barracks" said Damonhart
"Don't let mom let you forget our mission" said Naruto "Even thought I wanted to see her"
"I won't" said Damonhart as he starts to leave the room "Besides, I just wanted to meet my big brother again, *chuckle*"
Naruto smirks at this, he too wanted to make Minato pay for killing his father and making his live a living hell.
The World of the Living
A day has passed and Naruto is patrolling the rooftops of Konoha; he hated to see the village standing as he destroyed it with his huge army. Luckily he's in temporary Reaper form that no one apart from the dead can see him. He has to spend a year in Konoha, sending souls to the soul society and reap Hollows; Oh how it sickens him to do good deeds but he has no choice but to do it or the enemy will suspect him.
Grr, why did I agree to do this mission? Thought Naruto as he sat on the rooftops, feeling bored as he listens to the birds sing; children laugh and water flow in the river; until suddenly his Reaper Pager beeps in his pocket.
"Well at least I get some fun" said Naruto as he dashes to slay a hollow or 2.
Soul Society
Damonhart is taking a stroll near the Squad 9 Barracks, he listens to the birds chirp and metallic clangs as the Squad 9 recruits are training.
"Oh no, I'm late"
"Huh" said Damonhart as he turns to see a red haired reaper wearing a lieutenant badge on her left arm rushing pass the barracks with loads of files in her arms. Then he sees her trip and fall on the floor, the files scattered everywhere.
"Oh no" said the red head as she starts to gather the scattered paperwork. "The captain is gonna be upset"
"Are you alright?" said Damonhart as he rushes to check if the reaper is alright. Then he stops to see that the reaper is Kushina Uzumaki Kushi-chan
"Yeah, I'm fine" said Kushina as she stands up when she finished gathering the paperwork "Thanks for asking…er"
"Kageoni" said Damonhart
"Kageoni; that's a unusual name" said Kushina tilting her head slightly while looking at the Overlord in disguise.
"My father gave me it" said Damonhart as he looks away as he regretfully remembers his bastard father.
"Oh, I'm sorry" said Kushina as she felt a bit guilty for mentioning it.
"It's alright" said Damonhart "I'm really enjoying it to be honest...what's wrong, is there something on my face"
"Huh? Oh, I'm sorry" said Kushina as she looks away with a blush on her face "It's just you remind me of a person I once knew…and betrayed"
Damonhart noticed the change of tone as she said "Betrayed", he felt sad as he saw his beloved upset.
"Hey, if you're not busy later; would you like to go on a date or something?" said Damonhart sheepishly.
"Well I could take a break and since me and Minato aren't together" said Kushina until she smiles at Damonhart "Why not; what time?"
"Is 6:00pm alright?" said Damonhart
"Sure" said Kushina "See ya, Kageoni"
"I'll see you later…" said Damonhart as he watches Kushina leave to her office "…Kushi-chan"
Konoha: A year ago
"YAH!" yells Naruto as he slaughters a hoard of lesser Hollows in one swipe of his Kuroi Kitsune; he didn't want to use De la Zorro because it'll arouse suspicion to the Reapers and the Arrancars since it's an Arrancar Zanpakuto. After he vanquished the Hollows, he heads for the cowering soul of a Konoha Shinobi that died in Kyuubi and Damonhart's attack 3 years ago.
"W-Who are you?" said the deceased Shinobi
"I'm here to send you to your resting place" said Naruto as he placed the butt of Kuroi Kitsune's hilt on the soul's forehead and sees it the soul vanishes in a flash of light. "Rest in peace"
Grr, I hate this; as soon we're finish this mission, I'm gonna cause a massacre to calm me down thought Naruto as he hates passing on souls and defending Konoha from the Hollows; he'd rather see it being attack by the masked phantoms but he must remember the mission.
BEEP
Naruto hears the pager beep and answers it.
"Lieutenant Vulpez Maelstrom speaking" said Naruto
