Piedmon had organized a circus and needed performers which he needed to perform in it, so he set out to ambush and capture the Digidestined an idea that had just pooped in his head and knowing he couldn't get them while they were together, he planned on when to stake them out one after the other. He had been watching them as they journey in the Digital World and as the chance presented itself, it was T.K first with Patamon that were his first targets and he proceeded and subdued them, hypnotizing them in the process. He went after the others in the same manner until he had captured them all. He led them to the circus he had set up and had them train for several days for the roles he had assigned to them. Not after were the Digi destined now regaining their minds but weren't able to control their actions or force themselves out of their hypnosis.
The Digidestined were in confusion as they began opening their eyes, it was almost the same feeling they had when they first came into the Digi world, but something this time was different. T.K was certain he was walking when they met a Piedmon, it seemed like they defeated it but there were loud cheers outside and scrambling to get on their feet they noticed it wasn't possible. He couldn't even open his lips to talk, just his eyes were the only thing he had control over, and so was the rest of them. They didn't know how they got there; their last memory was of course the clown, Kari furiously remembered. They got separated chasing Piedmon who used it as an opportunity to pick them off, and now they don't have control of their bodies and they were all dressed in what seemed like circus clothes. Shortly, they rose to their feet against their will and picked up different objects, Kari was handling a yo-yo and Mimi was singing, the only one amongst them that could speak, but she didn't understand what was going on and why she was singing, Matt was tossing Sora in the air and catching her as she was flipping all around. They were all confused as to what was going on, they were all practicing against their wills and nothing they tried to do could stop it.
The cheers and roars from outside their practicing tents were enough to tell them they were in a bad position and had to attempt to escape whatever has forced them to be as they were. In the circus ground, Piedmon danced and entertained the crowd with his card tricks and blistering magic tricks which were met with blistering laughter and cheers from the crowd. He tried to jump high and catch the looping ring and fell, the crowd burst into laughter after the awkward position he had landed, the Digi destined didn't know what was about to occur in the next few hours they were kidnapped. Bowing to the crowd, he finally spoke out, "I have prepared the greatest performance for all of you gathered here tonight, it is going to be the greatest you have ever witnessed, so I want you to cheer on and on and enjoy the show''. Going back to where the Digi destined were controlled to be practising, he meets them and burst into laughter and giggling, good, very good he said sliding his two hands together "I have prepared the best for the show, and he burst out in laughter once more. Many performances today with willing participants, ensure you all entertain our guests tonight and also make sure you don't die" giggling again as he looked upon their faces that couldn't make expression at all. "I have the best dancers here, acrobats, pointing to them. It is all prepared and it's ready for the showpiece so keep practicing in half an hour, pointing to Kari you will be dancing for the audience so people get into your attire'', Piedmon grabbed a pencil and makeup and began applying it to her face. It's almost done he continued repeating it to himself and powder dust was now filling the air, "you're prettier than I meet you'' before bursting into laughter. "Okay, now you can go out now and make the crowd happy won't you grabbing her by her cheeks. Now there are your fellow dancers pointing to a box of penguins locked in a cage''. Kari moved and carried the box with the penguins outside to the roar of the crowd and let them out, the penguins lined up in a straight line and Piedmon with one hand on his chest and the other hand at the crowd, "here at Piedmon circus we only have the best, so here's our first act of the evening''. Kari not controlling what she was doing was tiptoeing with the penguins around a circular board that was at the point of a pointed-cut triangular wedge, falling from there would be disastrous for her and she didn't know how she was dancing with those animals, soon she was at the center circling herself and the penguins with one hand up were circling here. She thought she would pass out from the turning but suddenly she stopped and bowed to the crowd as did the penguins and the crowd cheered. What she didn't expect to see was Gatomon being led out by Piedmon for the next act as was Mimi too, she didn't expect to see Gatomon captured too. Mimi started singing dressed in a jester costume and Gatomon flew in the air circling Kari who held her claws and circled with her till Mimi finished her song and the crowd erupted in cheers and clapping.
Meanwhile thinking of how to escape their captivity T.K. was staring around for anything magical that Piedmon might have used to imprison them, only if he could break from and free the others. He was still practicing, jumping up and down unable to control his movement or stop completely. It seemed like the hypnosis had weaned off a little and they could see what they were doing but couldn't stop. Soon Piedmon entered the tent followed by Kari who was now sweating off her makeup and breathing heavily. None of them could do anything or say anything they were completely like zombies just their inner thoughts and watching their bodies do as Piedmon commanded. Gatomon was caged once again, "we wouldn't want you causing any problems while I am away''. He left them there and headed into the circus arena to introduce his third act and used his magical powers to set the stage. Their costumes had all the color of their crest on them something they had just noticed; it had occurred to them that their crest was once stolen by Piedmon. He came back and introduced Patamon to T.K to which to his surprise that he was there also captive with them, "you guys are up next, prepare to dazzle the audience and like I say don't die because by then I can't save you. I hope you all are getting this information; the show must go on''. T.K involuntarily walked out to the stage where there were cheers, he looked up ahead and saw big rings, all of which were lit on fire and immediately, his acrobat act would begin. It was all loud and he saw himself climbing a suspended rope and flipping through the rings of fire, his costume almost was caught in the flames, he couldn't believe that his body was moving in such a way so he closed his eye because he looked down and saw how high his body had climbed and he was scared that he could fall, his fears almost materialized when he held unto a ring and one of his hands slipped and the crowd gasped in for a second but he held on with the other hand and quickly got himself to balance and continue swinging as Piedom watched on with a smirk on his face. For all their confusion, Matt was the only one who still couldn't take his eyes off Sora and her light red leotard, and it seemed to have affected Piedoms's hypnosis to some extent that he could talk aside the others. While T.K was still dancing through the rings, he was joined by Patamon, and Kairi whom Piedmon was smiling as he led them out of their training tents to come and see T.K swinging between rings, they almost let out a shout but the compulsion on them constrained them to watch him afraid.
Kari grabbed a fire loop and took some nearby match that Piedmon had provided and set the loop on fire and started with it and was joined by Patamon who would jump through the loop that was lit and soon joined her in the performance was T.K who also took a fire loop and they both danced and threw the loop up and Patamon would jump through it and land on the ground and they repeated different dance moves with it, turning and twisting themselves and reaching their grand ending they both hurled the fire loops toward each other and jumped through it, each grabbing the others fire loop before halting and bowing to the crowd which made Piedmon clap his hands very loudly and shouted "hurray! What a performance'' and they left the stage their mind already confused at what had happened. The remaining two pairs that hadn't performed were Izzy and Mimi, Sora and Matt who had regained his speech but didn't still know, like the others he had just thought that he also couldn't talk and keep mute. It had seemed that it was Kari that Piedmon was hung unto with the number of acts she had performed that day. It was Matt who maybe was engaged in the most terrific act of the evening he was to throw knives at a target, Piedmon brought out a board and tied Sora on it and knives were made available to him by Piedmon and unconsciously he uttered please don't , surprised by this Piedmon quickly waved his hands over his face and he was hypnotized fully and he picked up the knives throwing them towards Sora and he kept missing and to spice up the event for the crowd, he placed an apple at the head of Sora and one of the knives that Matt threw slightly missed her hands and the crowd cheered and shouted, he then with the final knife was able to hit the apple with putting the knife through Sora's face, she was untied and climbed Matt hands who threw her in the air and he swirled for three times before coming back down and Matt catching her by her waist and throwing her up again, she twirled and landed on Matts hands he had raised which were met by loud cheers and he let her down to her feet and they walked out terrified most especially Sora who was left stunned that Matt could have killed her.
The night was finally coming to an end with the final performance of the evening, Izzy and Mimi let out a horse and mounted it on its back and the horse galloped they held on before Mimi climbed on Izzy and they were dancing on top of the moving horse what was circling the arena and they did different dance styles before they switched positions and did different dance moves on top of the animal. This had amused Piedmon so much that the horse galloped once again and Izzy and Mimi were thrown off its back to the ground and they danced through the spin to land perfectly on their legs on the ground, they bowed to the crowd and left.
Piedmon for the final act thanked everybody for enjoying the show and laughing he asked if they liked his performers and they all erupted in cheers and claps throughout the circus, he clapped his hand and everything started dismantling and disappearing and everyone else before him, himself disappeared leaving the Digidestined lying asleep on the grass.
