Super Heroes
"Wait!" Raven caught up to Robin just as he'd cranked up his bike. She stared at him and said, "I'm going too."
"Raven," Robin sighed. "It's going to be dangerous, remember what Slade played at last time he had Bo and-"
"He's mine too, Robin." The girl's voice was sharp, but abnormally emotive. "I know Bo gets along with you a lot better than he does me, but I consider him mine. I have from the first time I held him." She swallowed hard and said, "Please let me go with you."
---
"Mommy! Mommy!" Bo was locked up once again in the large, dark cell, wailing at the top of his lungs. He coughed, choking on his own snot and tears, but continued to pound on the door and cry. He wanted somebody, anybody, to come and take him from this mean man, who apparently wasn't Batman. Batman would never lock him up. "Mommy…" he whimpered, falling onto his bottom.
He heard the sound of the door unlocking and Slade stood in the doorway once more, glaring down at him. "You don't seem to comprehend what a bad man I am," he told the toddler, leaning down so he was nearly eye-level with him. "So let me give you a clue." He grabbed Bo's tiny wrist, intending to squeeze them, but could not bring himself to do it. It was ridiculous. Of course the toddler would not struggle, so why do it? How fair would it be? Bo leaned his mucusy face against Slade's heavily-armored knee and sniffled, "I want my mommy."
"You don't even know who you're mommy is," Slade snorted, lifting the boy's face from his leg.
"That would be me."
Slade turned around Bo's face lit up. "Waven!" He weasled past Slade and ran into the Titan's awaiting arms. She scooped him up and balanced him in one arm and used the other to send a wave of darkness Slade's way just as he stood up. He dodged it, and clasped his hands of dust lazily, his single exposed eye finally falling on the girl. "I never thought you'd remember how to get here."
"What is it with you, Slade?" She demanded darkly. "Why can't you just leave him alone?" Bo fingered Raven's short hair and ignored the conversation all together. He stopped in mid-stroke and looked up at the ceiling.
"You're too good to him, Raven," Slade chuckled. "All of you; hiding the truth from him, refusing to bruise his young soul about who he really is and where he came from."
"You are not his father!" Raven snapped. "He may have your blood, but anyone as sick and demented as you could never be considered a parent! You hurt him! You wouldn't stop hurting him!"
"Oh, that reminds me." Slade snapped his fingers, and pain suddenly shot through Raven. She felt herself shaking as she tightened her grip on Bo, trying to ignore the sudden burning beginning to flow through her body. Slade walked over to her as she sank to her knees, and stood over her, a smirk behind his mask. He snorted and said, "I guess you forgot that I had a change of heart and decided to hurt you instead."
He leaned down to take Bo from her arms when something hit the back of his head, hard. He cried out in pain, stumbling forward, and Raven began gasping as the fire immediately left her system, the pain ceasing immediately. Bo smiled up and pointed. "Wobin!"
Slade picked up the R-printed throwing disk and growled as the boy wonder landed on the ground behind him. Raven took the opportunity to use her powers and envelop Slades' hands in a black orb. Robin then threw a kick to his chest and knocked him to the floor. Bo jumped up and down crying, "Wobin hit him! Wobin hit him!"
"Raven, take him get out of here!" Robin ordered, struggling to keep Slade on the ground. "Go! Now!"
The other Titan nodded and grabbed Bo around the waist, taking off in flight. Bo struggled against her briefly, calling, "Wobin! You forgot Wobin!"
"Robin will be alright," Raven told him, kissing his head. "Let's get you home for now."

When Raven got to the tower, she set Bo down and immediately knelt down to check him for injuries. When she found none, she hugged him tightly and began smothering him in kisses. Bo hugged her back and began to cry softly into her sweater. Beastboy emerged from the tower and hugged them both. Bo reached out his arms and Beastboy picked him up, bouncing him slightly. "Hey, Monster," he greeted, kissing the toddler. He then leaned over and kissed Raven, who was still brushing stray hair out of the little boy's eyes.
"Where's Robin?" Beastboy asked her, bouncing Bo.
"Still fighting Slade," Raven said. "I'm thinking I should go back. I just didn't want to leave Bo here."
"No, Star and I will go," her boyfriend told her. "Cy cleared up our nanoprobe issue." He rolled his eyes slightly. "Apparently Slade's recycled some of his older ideas. Go on inside and get yourself deprobed."
Raven chuckled and nodded. She took Bo from him and told the toddler, "I think someone needs to eat dinner."
"It's me!" Bo informed her, raising up his shirt and patting his stomach. "My tummy! It's growling!"
-----
"What's your obsession with him?" Robin demanded as he and Slade continued to fight. "Why do you want him so badly?" He cried out as he painfully took a punch to the jaw, and Slade shook his fist.
"This may put a damper on your wonderful relationship with him, Robin," the man said. "But the child is mine. By blood, he belongs to me."
"Don't give me that shit." Robin shook his head. "You're no more his father than you are mine." He knew all about the bond between fathers and sons, even if they weren't blood-related.
"It's funny that neither you or Raven remembered how I brought the child here in the first place," Slade said, snapping his fingers, causing Robin to double over in pain. "I guess my little apprentice just keeps you too busy."
"He is not your apprentice!" Starbolts hit the man square in the back and he spun around to see Starfire and Beastboy, who was currently a cheetah. The alien girl landed on the ground, her fists and eyes glowing green. "And you will pay for taking him from us!"
----
"Okie-dokie," Cyborg said, removing the wires and suctions from Raven. "You're probe-free." He playfully stuck one on Bo's forehead, who giggled and raised up his arms as Raven stood up. She picked the toddler up and turned him upside down, tickling his stomach. Bo squealed with laughter and said, "Cyborg! Help me!"
"No can do, Bro," Cy told him, shutting down the machine he used to clear nanoprobes. "You're on your own." He turned to Raven and said, "I'll go help the others, if you want to stay and watch him." He lowered his voice and added, "Probably best that way."
Raven nodded. "Sure, that sounds fine." She took Bo to the bathroom to change his clothes, and once she heard Cyborg leave the tower and lock up behind him, she sighed slightly.
"What's wong, Waven?" Bo asked, wrapping his arms around her lower waist. Raven shook her head and picked him up. She kissed his cheek and stroked some of his hair. "I just feel like we need a super hero sometimes, Bo."
