ANNOUNCEMENT*

This is a part of a challenge I'm doing with 'Blazeraptor54.' It was originally just a small challenge where I challenge him to write a Neo and a Winter one shot, and he challenged me to write a Cinder fic… then things got kind of out of hand and here we are.

We decided to do a mass upload, with both me and him releasing several One-shots and even some chapters for both of our stories.

We have labeled this as 'March Madness' and decided on today, Saint Patrick's Day, mostly because we thought it would be funny if we uploaded on a pretty much no name holiday like today (seriously, who knows what today is supposed to be about?)

Anyways go and check out some of the other stories I've released today. And go and check out 'Blazeraptor54' while you're at it.

AN:Razberry17: Q- "I wonder if you're going to create a team for Naruto or just dump him on a team. Maybe someone with a semblance like Gilgamesh since rwby is based off of stories."

A- *nervous sweating* but yeah, if you want to find out who's/which team Naruto will be on that'll sort of be revealed in this chapter, next chapter only saying more.

Also, originally I did think about having an OC/character who was like Gilgamesh, but then I decided against it simply because I didn't want the character roster to be too big.

But if you do want a Gilgamesh-like character within Rwby then have I got a story for you! I just released a story like that today with Blake as the main pairing… yes I used this as a place for a terrible advert, sue me.

Guest: definitely a typo

Guest: Q- "was Naruto made by the god of light or a child given powers by the god of light"

A-*zips lips*… but that is what the story suggests, isn't it?

Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto, RWBY or any other anime I use in this story. They belong to their respective owners: Mushashi Kishimoto and Rooster teeth.

Chapter 2-Fairytales?

"Ohhhh! I can't believe my baby sister is going to beacon with me!" Her sister said excitedly, as she was engulfed in a large hug. "This is the best day ever!" Yang exclaimed, as she hugged her silver-eyed sister even tighter.

"Please… stop," Ruby managed to wheeze out, having fully lost the ability to take oxygen into her lungs.

"But I'm so proud of you!" Her sister said excitedly, having finally let go to give ruby some breathing room.

"Really, sis, it was nothing," she said awkwardly.

"What do you mean? It was incredible," her sister told her, "everyone at beacon is gonna think you're the bees knees."

"I don't want to be the bee's knees, okay, I don't want to be any kind of knees, I just want to be a normal girl, with normal knees," Ruby told the blonde.

"What's with you, aren't you excited?" Her sister asked.

"Of course I'm excited," Ruby sighed, "but I just…" she hesitated, before telling her sister her problem.

"I got moved ahead two years, I don't want people to think I'm special or anything," Ruby told her, as the blonde went up to her and pulled her close.

"But you are special," her sister told her, before the live broadcast playing nearby interrupted them.

"The robbery was led by a nefarious criminal, Roman Torchwick, who continues to evade authorities. If you have any information on his whereabouts, please contact the vale police department," the news reporter said, as it showed a picture of a familiar orange haired male, the same man who had robbed the dust shop, and who Ruby tried to stop.

"Back to you, Lisa," the reporter signed off, as the screen now showed a picture of a lavender haired woman.

"Thank you, Cyril," the female reporter said, "in other news, this Saturday's Faunus civil rights protest turned dark, when members of the 'white fang' disrupted the ceremony." Lisa Lavender stated her next story.

"The once peaceful organization has now disrupted—"the news broadcast shut off, as the screen now showed the image of a diligent looking blonde woman.

"Hello and welcome to beacon," the woman greeted, the woman ruby recognized as the same huntress who had saved her the other night.

"Who's that?" Yang asked besides her, as the broadcast answered her question for her.

"My name is Glynda Goodwitch," the blonde woman introduced herself.

"Oh," Yang realized that her question had been answered for her as the broadcast continued.

"You are among a privileged few who have received the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy," Glynda told them. "Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace, and as future huntsmen and huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it."

She continued, "you have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task. And now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge that and the training needed to protect our world," the woman said, as her image faded, showing the irresistible view that lay beneath.

"Wow," Ruby said in amazement, as she got closer to the window of the drop-ship they were currently inside.

The view they saw was grand, with many of the other huntsmen prospects lining up to see the gratifying view of Vale that laid before them.

"Look! You can see signal from up her," Ruby pointed out to her sister in wonder.

"I guess how isn't too far after all," the silver-eyed girl said wistfully, as her sister walked to her side.

"Beacon's our home now," Yang told her.

Once again, their moment was interrupted, a blonde boy in white armor looked and sounded to be about to throw up. Suddenly, the boy rushed towards them, pushing them to the side to reach a nearby bathroom or someplace he could feel better.

"Well, I guess the view isn't for everyone," Yang remarked, as they watched the boy's retreating figure.

"It was a nice moment while it lasted," Ruby told her.

"I wonder who we're gonna meet!" Yang said hopeful.

"Uhh, I just hope they're better than 'vomit-boy'," Ruby told her sister, as she realized something.

"Oh, Yang, gross, you got puke on your shoe!" Ruby shouted in disgust.

"Gross, gross, gross, gross, gross," Yang panicked

"Get away, get away from me! Get away from me" Ruby squealed, running from her sister.

None of the two sisters noticed another familiar silver-eyed blond in the corner of the room, a boy who seemed to be meticulously watching the silhouette of beacon academy down below.

XXX

It didn't take long for the drop-ship to land. And passing by a puking blonde near the exit, Ruby and Yang met face to face with the castle-like view of beacon academy in front of them.

"Wow," Ruby said in wonder.

"The view from vale's got nothing on this," Yang commented, as Ruby saw many fellow students pass her by.

"Ooh! Ooh! Sis!" Squealing, Ruby was in amazement at what she saw before her, as if she were in love.

"That kid's got a collapsible staff," the girl pointed out, "and she's got a fire sword," she said in awe. Ruby wanted to go and touch it, and she would have, had her sister not pulled her back to reality, literally.

"Ow, ow," Ruby whined as her sister had a hold of her red hood.

"Easy there little sister," Yang chastised, "they're just weapons," she told her, as her sister seemed to be offended at the sheer statement of it.

"Just weapons?" Ruby said in disbelief, "they're an extension of ourselves! They're a part of us! They're so cool!" She squealed once again at her love of all things that shot a bullet or went boom.

"Well, why can't you swoon over your own weapon?" Yang asked, "aren't you happy with it,"

To which her sister expanded her collapsed blade as she held it lovingly within her arms. "Of course, I'm happy with crescent rose!" She told her, "I just really like seeing new ones."

"It's like meeting new people," Ruby reasoned, "…but better," she said whilst looking down.

"Ruby," Yang sighed, as she grabbed her sister's hood and pulled it over her head. "Come one, why don't you try and make some friends of your own?" She suggested.

"But why would I need friends when I have you?," Ruby reasoned.

"We'll, actually," Yang rubbed her head, as a group of people Ruby couldn't identify came near them. "My friends are here. Gotta go catch up, kay, seeya bye!" The blonde said quickly, and she were engulfed into the group and left fast enough to leave ruby's head spinning.

"Wait, where are you going? Are we supposed to go to our dorms? Where are our dorms?…do we have dorms?" Ruby asked in a daze, but it was already too late, as her sister had already left.

And with everybody staring at her, she felt as if she were going to explode.

Luckily, a familiar blonde was there to help her in her time of need.

XXX

Naruto observed the campus grounds with a calm wonder, having not seen anything like the academy before.

He looked on at the nearby trees, and forests, as well as the brick and stone walls that made up the school. It was as if they were a part of two different worlds.

He was so enamored by this thought that he didn't realize that he had no idea where they were supposed to meet up, although he wouldn't let that stop him.

Deciding to follow a group of students who seemed to know where they were headed, he would come to realize that it would take much longer than he expected to reach the initiation ceremony.

Walking past a dark haired girl talking next to a similarly blonde haired boy, he made his way past a red haired girl towards the edge of the crowd.

He watched with raptured attention as a silver haired man, followed by a familiar blonde, went up to the stage.

He was dressed in refined clothing, with a dark and gray suit, a dark green scarf wrapped around his neck, as well as a pair of small looking reading glasses situated across his face.

He appeared out of place, in front of the much younger audience he was addressing.

"I'll keep this brief," the gray-haired man spoke up on the stage, as he fixed his glasses.

"You have traveled here today in search of knowledge. To home your craft and acquire new skills. And when you will are finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people," he spoke, before the headmaster continued with his speech

"But I look amongst you and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction." He told them, "you assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step," he finished his speech rather quickly.

And Naruto actually scoffed at it, expecting as much from the man he knew to be Ozpin.

A familiar blonde haired woman moved to the center of the stage, saying, "You will gather in the ballroom tonight. Tomorrow, your invitation begins. Be ready." Glynda told them.

"You are dismissed!" She called out, as the crowd started to disperse. Naruto decided it would be best if he stayed in the nearby wilderness, it was where he was meant to be.

XXX

Hours later.

Just as Glynda Goodwitch had said, all the students had gathered in the ballroom, with many of the students using sleeping bags they had brought, or those that had been provided for them.

"It's like a big slumber party!" Yang said in delight, as she unceremoniously plopped her body onto the sleeping bag next to her own.

"I don't think dad would approve of all the boys, though," Ruby remarked, as she was seemingly focused on writing within her notebook.

"I know I do~" Yang purred with a semi-perverse grin, as she stared at some of the other male students rough-housing. Many of them, given their prospective field of work, were fairly well-built. Many of them also neglected to wear a shirt, much to her delight. Before she caught sight of a familiar blonde, Jaune arc, in a bright blue onesie with a giant rabbit photo on it.

Feeling slightly disgusted, she decided to change the subject, bring attention to what Ruby was currently doing, "what's that?" Yang asked.

"A letter to the gang back at signal," Ruby answered. "I promised to tell them all about beacon and how things were going."

"Aww, that so cute!" Yang squealed, before she was promptly hit in the face with a nearby pillow.

"Shut up," Ruby said in indignation. "I didn't get to take my friends with me here to school, it's weird not knowing here."

"And to top it all off, I lost my…" she stopped herself, not enjoying the topic she had knowingly been trying to avoid thinking about. She unconsciously clutched at her chest, over her stomach, where the pin she had lost was usually kept along her belt.

Yang frowned, knowing just what Ruby was talking about. "Rubes, don't worry, I'm sure it'll turn up eventually," Yang said, hope filled that things would come together in the long run.

"Yang, I lost my pin, the same pin that mom gave me before she died," Ruby said in a somber tone. "And before you say it again, I didn't lose it in the couch. I know I had it on before I stopped that robbery, but after that it was just gone."

After she had realized she had lost it, they both had searched for hours, returning to the crime scene, the place she had known she had lost it at. And despite all their effort, they had turned up with nothing.

"For all we know it could have been stolen, or worse," Ruby spoke, disappointed in herself for not knowing she had lost it earlier.

Her sister put a hand on her shoulder, as Ruby's silver eyes met with her sister's lilac ones. "I have faith that it will turn up. And who knows, If it was stolen…" Yang gained a devilish grin, "we'll just have to kick the guy's ass!" She said, before she was promptly shushed by some of the nearby students.

"Language," Ruby chided, "five dollars."

"Dang it," Yang grumbled, before she took out her wallet and took out the appropriate amount of money, begrudgingly depositing it into her sister's awaiting hand. Double the amount, considering she had just sworn once again.

"Promise?" Ruby asked suddenly.

"Huh?" Yang asked in confusion.

"Promise you'll kick that no good thief's butt once you'll find him?" Ruby elaborated.

Yang nodded, flashing her sister a smile and said, "of course, anything for my sister!" She promised, and Ruby gained a near identical smile to her sister.

It didn't take long for Yang to change the topic, decided to go with something much more light-hearted. Something that she knew didn't cause her sister as much pain to think about.

"So have you made any friends here?" Yang asked, "I heard you met that one boy, jaune, he's…" she fished for the right word to describe him as.

"Nice?" The blonde finished, not really having any other kind things to say about the blonde.

Ruby, happy with the change of subject, answered, "Jaune's nice, but he's so…" she trailed off, just like her sister did before her.

Deciding to change the subject once again, "hey! I met a guy at the preliminary exam I took a little while ago," Yang realized. "He was about your age, maybe he's here, and you can be friends or something," she suggested.

"Really?" Ruby asked in disbelief, surprised that there could be someone her age going to such a prestigious school.

"What's he like?" She asked, intrigued in the topic.

Yang smirked, "interested in boys now, aren't we?" She teased, as her sister gained a light blush,

"N-no, it's not that," Ruby corrected. "I was just…" she trailed off.

"You were surprised, I was too, he seemed to be pretty good, wouldn't surprise me if he were here too, although I haven't seen him."Yang commented, remembering the other blonde. "Now if I were to describe him, I would say…" Her sister thought about it, holding her hand under her chin as she recalled their initial meeting.

"I'd say he was pretty weird," Yang resolved, causing her sister to deflate a little.

"Oh, so he's another jaune," Ruby said, disappointed.

Yang shook her head, "Well, their looks were pretty similar, but he seemed a lot calmer, more laid back." She said, before she tried to recall what her fellow blonde's name was, "Now, what was his name again?"

Elsewhere

"Mister Uzumaki!" A voice shouted, as the blonde in question looked down from his laying position high above the trees.

"Miss Goodwitch?" Naruto questioned aloud, not expecting to see the blonde woman right now. "What seems to be the problem?" He asked aloud, as he dropped from his sitting position.

The blonde woman in question seemed to be sporting a rather large tick mark on the side of her head, evident of her frustration.

"The problem is, Mr.uzumaki, is that the space provided for the students within the ballroom is for ALL students, and yet I find a student deciding to rest within the forests outside of beacon," Miss Goodwitch elaborated.

"I see," Naruto said in thought, much to her silent frustration, "I was unaware I was prohibited from sleeping out here, is such a rule set in place?" He inquired.

"Well, no…" Glynda told him hesitantly, before she continued. "But it is recommended that students stay within their designated space, it's better for keeping track of the students rather than having them spread about. Surely staying within the ballroom would be much better than staying in…" she pointed her riding crop towards where he had previously been resting.

"Places like this," she finished.

Naruto shook his head, "I have no problems sleeping in a place like this, in fact, I much prefer it," he motioned towards the bottom of his feet, pointing out the fact that he was currently barefoot, "it helps to be in such a nature rich area such as this," he told her.

The blonde woman stared at him for what felt like an eternity, but he didn't back down from his decision.

"It seems you've already made up your mind, mister uzumaki," miss Goodwitch sighed.

"Yes, I have," Naruto told her.

As they both sat in an encompassing silence, neither bothering to speak. As the huntress looked up to gaze upon the broken moon.

Surprisingly, it was the older blonde who decided to speak…

"Tell me, Mr.Uzumaki, would you care to answer me a question?" Glynda asked suddenly, gaining Naruto's attention.

"Depends," Naruto told him, "what would you care to ask me?" He asked, but the woman kept himself silent, until…

"Do you… believe in fairy tales?" She asked suddenly, as Naruto was taken aback by his forwardness. "Like the tale of the four seasons, or the girl in the tower ?" The woman elaborated

Naruto thought about what the headmaster was asking, as he soon gave his answer, "we live in a world filled with deadly monsters and men who can combat them, I don't believe it's so outrageous to believe that tales of folklore can't have some elements of truth within them," he answered, smiling a little.

"A logical answer, one not many your age would come to make given your prospective occupation." Glynda told him, before she nodded towards him. "A well-educated choice indeed," she told him, as a faint ringing noise could be heard from her nearby scroll.

"It seems I am needed elsewhere" she told him. "The exams begin in the morning, be ready," the teacher instructed, before ushering in her departure.

All the while, Naruto kept up a false smile, but as she left, his face contorted into a light frown.

XXX

"I trust the meeting went well?" Ozpin asked, the two staff members within his office.

"It has," Glynda answered. "He has potential, more than most children his age. But I still feel uneasy about him," she told the gray haired man.

"I see," Ozpin said in thought. "It seems his mystery will be only something that time will tell." He told her, after looking off into the distance. Right towards the location of the aforementioned blonde in question,

XXX

Bleary pink eyes awoke to see cerulean ones as he was met with the blinding light of the setting sun. Recognizing the form of his longtime friend, he only barely registered the morning call she gave to him. Along with her enthusiastic chants of the fact that it was 'morning.'

With a tired sigh, he arose from his resting position as he brushed his teeth, all the while, his energetic fried talked about her hopeful joys of being at beacon academy.

While he was tying up his sleeping bag, she talked of their long friendship, and their relationship. As she ate pancakes, she talked about her hopes of ending up on the same team. As, she made a plan for them to reconvene during the exam and become partners when they met up on the halls with their lockers throughout. Resolving that the best course of action would be a signal they could use to communicate a message together, thinking of the perfect animal to imitate in their endeavors. As she continued on with her ramblings and asked how good his sloth impressions were.

"Nora," he sighed.

"Yes, Ren?" She asked as he interrupted her hopeful ramblings.

"I don't think sloths make a lot of noises," he told her, as he holstered his twin pistols seemingly into nowhere.

His orange haired friend stared dumbfounded, before she pumped her fists into the air as a massive smile etched itself onto her face. "That's why it's perfect! No one will ever suspect we're working together!" She resolved, having full faith in her plan,

Deciding to not deal with her antics anymore, Ren closed his "Come on Nora, let's go," he told her, walking off to find out where they needed to go.

"But not together-together," Nora corrected, as she realized what she had just said, following suit after her friend as she let out a delighted giggle, passing by a silver-eyed black clad girl as she did so.

"Wonder what those two are so worked up about?" Ruby asked aloud, as her sister, who was standing nearby, gave her own two cents.

"Oh who knows," she said offhandedly, before deciding to change the subject, "so, you seem awfully chipper this morning," Yang commented, as she saw her sister's smile on full display.

"Yup, no more awkward small-talk or getting-to-know-you stuff! Today, I get to let my sweetheart do the talking," she said lovingly, as she caressed her weapon she held tentatively within her hands.

Ignoring her sister's odd behavior, yang continued. "We'll remember Ruby, you're not the only one going through initiation. If you want to grow up, you're gonna have to meet new people and learn to work together," she told her with her arms on her hips.

Ruby just sighed, "Uhhhh, you should like dadddd!" She complained, as she put creasant rose within her locker.

"Okay, first of all, what does meeting people have to do with fighting," the silver eyed girl asked, pointing towards her sister. "And secondly, I don't need people to help me grow up, I drink milk!" Ruby said resolutely, crossing her arms and standing strong.

But even still, Yang carried on in her endeavor, "But what about when we form teams?" She argued.

As Ruby looked away rather embarrassed, "I don't know, I… I'll just be on your team or something," she said rather bashfully.

"Maybe you should try being on someone else's team?" Yang suggested as she played with her long golden hair.

Ruby pointed an accusatory finger at the blonde, "My dearest sister Yang! Are you implying that you do not wish to be on the same team as me?!" She asked rather loudly, crossing her arms together.

Yang waived her hands and tried to deny rather pathetically her sister's accusations, "What? No, of course I do. I just thought… I don't know, maybe, break out of your shell!" She emphasized as she spread out and waved her hands once more.

Ruby seemed to take offense from this statement, as she completely blew up at her sister's accusations. "What?! I don't need to break out of my shell that absolutely—"

"Ridiculous," Another blonde finished.

"There's no way I put my stuff in locker 636 yesterday, I would have remembered having to count that high," Jaune Arc muttered, he walked over to the other end of the room whilst holding his school information sheet.

Ruby blinked, realizing what the blonde's words, "What he said," she huffed with a pout.

Yang sighed, "Come on Ruby, I'm sure we can find you somebody just as weird as you," she said, witnessing her sister's glare in response.

XXX

(Elsewhere in the locker room)

Naruto put his bag within his designated locker. He had no weapons whatsoever, into a few clothes that he had brought with him.

Looking within his peripheral vision, he could see many of the students chatting about, a redhead and blonde in particular, he paid them no mind.

He did, however, notice a blonde looking girl approach him; although he paid it no mind.

"I knew you'd end up here!" Yang stated, as she slammed her fist into a nearby locker.

He retrieved a long leather cord that was tied at each end from within his locker. Putting it over his neck, it being just something that he used to keep his tunic from flying about.

"Do I… do I know you?" Naruto asked the lilac eyed girl, as she face-faulted onto the ground.

"Oh come on, don't be like that," she said, as she got off the ground.

Naruto blinked, observing the girl once again, recognizing her from the beacon test. "Oh, it's, um?… Yang was it?" He asked aloud, not really remembering her name.

The blonde's smile lit up, "uh, yeah, I knew you'd remember me," she chirped, wrapping an arm around him as she did so.

She got up close, accidentally pressing her bust up against his side, Naruto managed to keep a calm face as she did so.

"Listen, I've got a really weird sister, she's about your age," Yang whispered in his ear, "and I thought that since you're pretty much a freak with no friends too you should go and meet her, be friends with her, and so on," she explained her situation. "But no funny business you hear me?" She added.

"So can you do that, for me?" Yang requested.

Naruto blinked once again, assessing her words, "should I take offense to that?" He inquired.

"I wouldn't get too mad about it," Yang waved his question off, trying to ignore the fact that she basically insulted him. "So what about my request?" She reiterated.

Before Naruto could respond, an announcement played all around them.

"Would all first year Students please report to beacon cliff for initiation. Again, all first year Students please report to beacon cliff immediately" Glynda said throughout the intercom, much to Yang's displeasure.

Naruto managed to loosen himself from her grip, as he silently made his way to the instructed area, passing by a disoriented blonde who had been pinned to the wall as he did so.

XXX

(Beacon Cliff)

They were all arranged in a line, situated on specific platforms they were designated to by the headmaster and Glynda herself.

"For years you have trained to become warriors," The headmaster, Ozpin opened, as he held his steaming hot cup of coffee within his hands. "And today your abilities will be evaluated in the emerald forest." He told them.

"Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assigned teams," Glyndra Goodwitch said from beside the gray-haired man, causing many of them to perk up.

"Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion," she assured, "Each of you will be given teammates… today," the blonde woman told them. Causing many of the students to grow worried looks upon their faces.

"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon," Ozpin informed. "So it is your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well." He explained, only growing Ruby's worries, before he gave them one last rule.

"That being said, the fist person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years," he told them, as Ruby's world shattered.

"What?!" The silver-eyed girl cried out in utter horror.

"See, I told you," Nora muttered to her best friend.

Ozpin continued, "After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet up opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path, or you will die," he told them in full seriousness.

"You will be monitored and graded for the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene," The headmaster informed. "You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one, and return to the top of the cliff." He instructed.

"You will guard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?" Ozpin asked, as Jaune raised his hand.

"Yeah! Um, sir—" the blonde was interrupted.

"Good, now take your positions," he told them, uncaring of the Arc's question. The students began preparing for their launch.

Naruto was the first as he was launched by his platform into the air. Although, he found it rather amusing that Ozpin had ignored jaune's worried expression.

"Uhh, sir, I've got umm… a question," jaune hesitantly asked, students being launched into the air all around him. "So this landing strategy thing!… uh, w-what is it? You're like, dropping us off or something?" He questioned rather worriedly.

Ozpin held his calm demeanor, although inwardly he was smirking at the kid's display.

"No, you will be falling," he told the huntsman-prospect, as more students were launched into the air.

Jaune rubbed his head, trying to understand what the headmaster meant. "Oh, I see… So, like, did you hand out parachutes for us?" he queried, as Nora was launched as well, a cry of joy as she did so.

"No," Ozpin told the panicking blonde, "you will be using your own landing strategy."

"Uh Huh, yeah," Jaune's mind processed what the headmaster just said. Yang giving a wink to her sister and being launched not long after.

Ruby was then launched into the air, and only Jaune was the only student left.

"Alright, so…" The Arc processed the right words to say. "What exactly is a good landing strategyyyyy—"

He was launched into the air. Leaving both ozpin and Glynda the only ones standing upon the cliff side. As the headmaster tentatively took a sip of his mug, watching jaune fumble throughout the air as he did so. Yes…

This year was going to be fun.

(With Naruto)

He felt the harsh wind across his famed skin, his white tunic billowed out as his hair was directed in all sorts of directions.

He saw the blue sky, the yellow sun, the white fluffy clouds, the green wilderness, and even the darkness of a nevermore flying off in the distance, his moon-like eyes caught it all. Seeing all there was and taking the sight in with a small smile across his face as he fly high above the air.

Honestly, and although he'd never admit it, it was here that he felt the most comfortable, surrounded by the nature of the world.

Don't get him wrong, he still observed the area around him, looking ahead and seeing the best possible way to reach the temple at the edge of the north, even as he was mesmerized by the breathtaking view in front of him.

Sadly, this moment was not meant to last, the ground was fast approaching, and if he didn't reach fast he would soon plummet to a fall that would surely kill any ordinary person.

In a shower of gold he summoned a silver chain within his palm, being careful to wait for an opportunity. As his body reached the trees he struck, throwing the chain as it looped around a stray branch as he used it to stop his descent completely. Flipping himself and twirling long the branch as his coiled around it even more to slow down his momentum. He landed on the branch of the tree as he dispersed his chain into gold particles.

Lowering himself onto the ground he made his way to his destination, he had a job to do after all.

Only barely hearing gunshots nearby.

XXX

(With Ruby)

The sky, the sun, the clouds, the trees, and unfortunately a bird she had accidentally hit along her descent, her moon-like eyes caught it all with a cry of joy as she did so.

Using her weapon's recoil to adjust her direction she then switched creasant rose to its scythe form. Hooking it on a nearby tree branch that was sturdy enough to slow her fall as she twirled around it to lose momentum and stop herself from becoming a splat along the dirt.

Landing on all fours she resolved herself, she had resolved herself to find her sister. That had been the rules, the first person you locked eyes with was your partner for the next four years. She couldn't allow herself to be stuck with someone she didn't know for four years.

She had to find Yang.

Repeated it as if it were a mantra as she used her superior speed to travel fast across the first, looking around hastily in every direction as she did so.

"Yang!!" She called out, but to no avail, her sister was nowhere to be seen.

She ran even faster as she panicked, this was bad, really bad. 'What if she couldn't find her? What if someone found her first?' She thought about all the other candidates she'd like for a teammate.

Jaune was nice, he was funny too, but she didn't think he was good at a fight at all. Imagining him getting eaten by beowolves was something she could picture easily.

Then there was Blake, a girl she had met earlier. She seemed… mysterious, calm, she envied her for it. Plus, she liked books.

But then again… she wasn't even sure she could even hold a conversation with her.

Thinking back on it, she didn't know anybody else in this school.

Well… there was one person, but Yang wasn't even sure he went here. Plus, Yang's only real description was that he was weird, something she didn't know how to feel about.

With her luck, he'd probably be like the rest, end up stabbing her or something.

She stopped, witnessing a person in front of her.

Blonde hair as golden as the sun, tan skin, clothes as white as snow.

As silver eyes gazed at one another he spoke, "You… have silver eyes," he commented aloud, as his face etched itself into a serious expression.

A chain formed within the palm of his hands, as he threw it in the air, aiming it so fast Ruby barely had any time to react, shielding her face from the pain…

A scream could be heard in the emerald forest.

End Chapter.

An: Mwahahahaha! Left you guys on a bit of a cliffhanger there!... yeah, not really.

This was another one of those setup chapters, going through canon whilst also setting up a few relationships, Glynda and Naruto's being a major/minor one that I'll setup, they'll be sort of like siblings, maybe even Glynda will be a mother figure, who knows?

If you liked this story, go check out another chapter of 'Enuma Eilish', there's also another short Ruby story called 'Fever Dreams', a longer Cinder Fall story called 'Broken Crown' and a Blake Story called 'Ea', all of which I posted today.

And while you're at it, go check out 'BlazeRaptor54' I know he worked really hard and posted a ton today as well.

But please… Leave me lots and lots of nice reviews, it'll help me a lot after releasing 50k words in a single day.
