A/N I just realized I posted this on twitter and not here and it could fit for this series of one shots, in fact one of you asked for this pompt a while ago. So, in case you guys haven't read it already, here it is!

Post canon. Harvey asks Donna about all the times someone proposed to her before him

...

"Oh please, that's so ridiculous, I don't even get why you like this movie so much" Harvey complains as they sit on their couch, watching 'Love, Actually'. It's one of Donna's favorite movies, and she was finally able to coerce her husband into watching it with her after losing a bet. Cause there's no other way he'd willingly watch it.

"No, it's not! It's very romantic" Donna objects as Jamie continues proposing to Aurelia in a terrible portuguese.

"Because he's trying to propose in her language?" He asks with some indignation in his tone as he points towards the screen with both hands.

"No! because he's making an effort to speak her language as he proposes" She defends Colin Firth's character and Harvey scoffs.

"My proposal was so much more authentic" He scowls as he crosses his arms and stares at the screen once again.

She looks sideways at him and chuckles, leaning forward to wrap her hands around his bicep and place her chin on his shoulder. He looks down at her then.

"Of course it was" She reassures him "That's why you're the only man I ever said yes to" He smiles down at her and quickly kisses her, but pulls away and tilts his head back as her words sink in.

"Wait a second" He says with a frown "What do you mean the only one you said yes to? Has someone else ever proposed to you?"

She laughs at his astonishment and finds his jealousy endearingly cute, but he doesn't seem to find it funny cause he continues looking at her with a serious expression, and she realizes he's waiting for her to answer his question.

"A few times yeah, and in different languages too, but I turned them all down" She replies with a slight smile.

"I can't believe you never told me about that" He complains with a frown still on.

"Harvey, what does it matter? it never came up and I'm your wife. Like I said, you're the only one I ever said yes to, so that's what matters, isn't it? You've always been the one for me" That softens him and makes him visibly relax as he finally gives her a smile.

"Okay, you're right, but I still want to know" He insists and Donna sighs and rolls her eyes at her husband's stubbornness.

"Okay… What do you want to know?"

"How many?"

"I don't remember" She tries to get out of it with a shrug but he starts moving his finger in a denying way.

"Oh no, you're not getting off that easily. How many?" He asks again and she lets out a breath of annoyance. This topic is not something she wants to discuss with her husband. Only Rachel knew about it until now. She curses herself for letting it slip in the first place.

She mutters a number that is not audible to Harvey at all "What?" He asks so she can repeat herself and with a dramatic roll of her eyes, she does.

"Six" She says more clearly.

"Wow" He says with shock all over his face as he lets the information sink in. "Was mine number seven?" He asks to be sure and she nods.

"Seventh's the charmer" She retorts jokingly and he tries very hard not to show her how affected he actually is.

"I thought that was the third"

"Not in the book of Donna" She quickly sasses and he feels very annoyed right now, though he knows he shouldn't. "Actually it was eight times if we count your lousy intent of a proposal in my living room a few months before your actual proposal"

"That one doesn't count"

"And that wasn't the first time you did it either" She counters back and he looks at her astonished.

"What are you talking about?"

"Duh!" She exclaims, once again rolling her eyes "Holy fuck, I could marry you Donna" She says imitating his voice and the chip drops. He told her that while she was licking whipped cream off his body the first time they gave in to their desire for one another.

His eyes darken at the memory, but he quickly catches that was her exact intention, to remind him of that moment. tempting him to drop the subject and fetch the whipped cream from the fridge, they always make sure to have a can in there.

"That doesn't count as a proposal either, and stop trying to lure me into dropping this because I'm not" He firmly says.

"Ugh, alright… So there was Anthony, he was a cast mate, we dated for like three months, god knows why he thought proposing was a good idea. Anyway, then there was Kyle, the manager of the bar I was working at at the time, he's actually the reason I made my rule about not getting involved with men I worked with" She explains and Harvey hates this Kyle without even knowing the guy, that rule kept him from being with Donna for too long.

"Then there was Carl, a banker, right before I started working at the DA's office. Then there was Emilio, I was on vacation in Spain, we only spent three days together, he was drunk, I turned him down and that was it. Then there was Raul from accounting, left me a voicemail in spanish that Rachel had to translate, we only spent one night together, I blocked his contact and made sure to never go down to our accounting department again" She finishes and Harvey looks astonished, thinking about how he thought he had surprised her with his spontaneous proposal and his grandmother's ring, when she's seen more diamonds than anyone else he knows.

"Wait a second" He says as another thought crosses his mind "You said he was from accounting?" He asks with a frown "Meaning he worked at the firm"

She looks at him and nods "Yeah, why?"

"What about your rule?" He asks with a raised eyebrow and she smirks.

"Harvey, he was three floors down and my job had nothing to do with his, it didn't count as working together" She explains but he still has one question left.

"That's only five proposals though, what was the sixth?"

She looks down and she was hoping he didn't pick on that small detail but of course he would.

"Number six was Mitchel, the guy I told you I was seeing while I was working for Louis… And he was the only one I considered maybe for a second saying yes to, but I didn't" She explains and he nods slowly, taking the information in.

"You said he asked you to move in with him"

"He did, but he also had a ring, it didn't matter though cause I knew he wasn't the one and I couldn't say yes. There's only one man I've always known I'd say yes to" His eyes twinkle at her reply and he grins smugly.

"It's me, right?" He asks just because he wants to hear her say it.

"No, it's Thomas, actually" She says with a serious expression and he glares at her.

"That's not funny" He mutters and she giggles as she puts her hands on his shoulders and sits on his lap to straddle him.

"Of course it's you, it's always been you" She reassures him before giving him a chaste kiss on the mouth.

"Good, because you're stuck with me forever" He retorts as he palms her sides softly.

"Of course I am, and I wouldn't have it any other way"

"So my proposal was really the best? Cause it was pretty improvised, and with all those diamonds you've surely seen–"

"Harvey" She interrupts and cups his jaw so he's looking at her. "It was perfect. Everything about that night was perfect because it was us, and us is all I've ever wanted. So, to answer your question, yes, your proposal was the best, and my ring is the most beautiful I've ever seen and you're the best husband I could have asked for, and can we drop this subject already?" He smiles and nods, ready to leave the conversation behind.

"Yes, we can, but I can't endure this movie any longer, so what do you say I carry you to our bed so you can show me how much you enjoy being married to me?"

She laughs and squeals as he stands and takes her with him, their mouths finding each other again while he carries them to their bedroom.
