The Meeting:
The morning always brought a dazzling display of light into the Burrow windows. That morning, Harry had just woken up to a wheezing Ron. Ron was sitting up in his bed with his feet straight in front of him and his arms wrapped around his chest. He was rocking back and forth with tears streaming down his face, he was laughing. Harry didn't know what he was laughing about and so, he asked. He wished he didn't.
'Hey Ron, what's so funny?"
Ron curled up into a ball, "Ginny fell into one of the twins traps this morning!"
Harry didn't know why that would be so funny; Ginny always was the victim of Fred's and George's traps. Yet, Harry still curios, "Why is it so funny? What trap was it?"
"Long story short, Ginny has an eyebrow missing," Ron replied. He kept on laughing hysterically while Harry tried to imagine a Ginny without an eyebrow. It was disturbing to picture. Harry kept trying to figure out ways to calm Ron down, when the door slammed open. A very angry, red-faced Hermione came trudging through the room. Her fists were clenched and her face was as white as a ghost. She looked ready to kill someone.
"Ron Weasley, you think this is funny?" Hermione yelled. Her tone was cold and unforgiving, this was the angriest Harry has ever seen Hermione. "Your sister is crying upstairs while your down here laughing?! And yet, you STILL think this is funny!"
Ron didn't stop laughing for one second, he kept rolling back and forth. Hermione said a few other things to Ron that Harry didn't really hear. The volume of her voice was making his head hurt. Really bad. He tried to ignore it but the ringing in his ears was hard to ignore. He stuck his head under his covers and reached over to his nightstand. He opened the drawer and grabbed his pills that his aunt had given him. He still didn't know if he should trust her, but she was trying. Harry tried his best to open the bottle of pills with shaky hands, his head was really starting to hurt now. After a few seconds, the bottle had opened and Harry, under the covers, took them. As soon as the pills got into his system, he felt a little better and the ringing in his ears ceased to a small hum. Harry still kept his head under his covers, it just felt better to not see a very, very angry Hermione and hysterical Ron. With his luck though, Hermione turned around and noticed a lump in the bed right next to Ron's bed.
"Harry?"
"Yes Hermione," Harry replied. He deemed it safe to life the covers and his head popped out along with his arms. Hermione wasn't as red and her color was returning to her face. Hermione immediately felt bad, she had been here screaming, not noticing that Harry had probably been sleeping or at least, trying to. Guilt was replacing the anger she had felt only minutes before.
"Oh, I'm sorry Harry! I didn't notice that you were here, if I did, I probably would've been quieter," Hermione exclaimed.
"Its ok, Hermione, I wasn't sleeping"
Hermione let out a breath of relief and turned back to Ron, who was had stopped laughing and tried to look as innocent as he could. He held back a gust of laughter, he needed to stop. Hermione kept staring at like she was expecting something. So much for protecting his dignity. "I'm sorry Hermione, I will apologize to Ginny for laughing. Which, by the way, isn't a crime!"
"It is when its used incorrectly," Hermione hissed. Ron rolled his eyes and swatted Hermione away. She sighed and gave one last look to Harry before striding out of the room. She shut the door and the footsteps eventually got further and further away. Ron looked over at Harry.
"Hey mate! Sorry about that, you know how it is"
Harry nodded, still, his insides felt like they were being twisted. He tried to not focus on that.
"Its fine," Harry replied. He sighed, his days here at the burrow were going to be long ones. Ron looked over at a frowning Harry. "Hey mate, are you ok?"
Harry nodded even though his worry only increased. No one knew and they probably wouldn't know for a long time. He remembered how it only took a few days for his world to come crashing down. The looks and change of hearts were no coincidence, he was sick with something either untreatable or awful. He didn't know which. Yet, Harry didn't know how long he could hide his sickness, eventually they would find out one way or another. Then, the world spun and Harry had to lie down again. He really hated life right now.
"Well Harry, I'm gonna go get breakfast and see Hermione, she's still really pissed with me," Ron said with the uttermost annoyance. His face was red, and his knuckles were white. How he hated when Hermione was mad at him. She was his whole world, but he didn't tell that to her, it was to embarrassing. Harry followed Ron downstairs. Every step for Harry was agony, he felt his head get heavier and heavier. They eventually made it downstairs to see Hermione talking to a distressed Ginny. Hermione saw the boys coming down with a loud stomp. She noticed Ron's expression and giggled to herself. Her words really affected him, not in a bad way but in a embarrassed kind of way. Ron sat down and mumbled to himself. Harry sat down and clutched his head; he did look awfully pale.
"Harry, are you alright?" Hermione asked. She waited for a response but only got a thumbs up. She worried for him. "Hello Ron,"
"Hey Hermione," Ron mumbled. He kept noticing Ginny stare at him with pure hatred. He hated when she did that. It felt awkward.
"Hey Hermione, where's Mrs. Weasley?" Harry asked
"She has a meeting with the order"
"The order?"
Hermione bit her lip, she didn't know if it was a good idea to mention the order to Harry. But, he deserved the truth, she just hoped it wasn't her who had to break it to him.
"The order is a group of wizards and witches who are trying to find a way to defeat Voldemort, Mrs. Weasley, and Mr. Weasley, along with Tonks, and Mad eye Moody, and sadly Snape, and many more people are involved."
Ginny and Ron flinched at the name Voldemort. Hermione wasn't surprised, it happened quite to often.
"Oh, come on Ron, it's just a name."
Ron mumbled something to himself again and got up. As soon as he got up, four letters flew through the window and landed on the table. Harry picked up the letter and read the cover.
"Its our school letters," Harry said.
