IMPORTANT MESSAGE: This story isn't going to be updated as often as i used to update stories because I'm working on a lot of stories at once right now, also I thought I clarified this before but some personal stuff is happening as well so it's really damn stressful when you ask to update the story, just please be patient that's all I ask. Now go read the goofy ahh chapter.
"No… I don't… think s-so…"
"Well why not?", asked Lori in concern.
"Y-you should k-know why, I just… did that…", stuttered Lincoln.
"Why are you so shaken up about it?", asked Luna.
"Well, it's strange-"
"Strange? Lincoln, what you just did was amazing!", shouted Lynn.
"But I almost hurt you!"
"But you didn't, right? I'm standing here just fine, all I'm thinking about right now is how you managed to form a sword out of mid air!", exclaimed Lynn in excitement.
"I would also like to know that, there's gonna be a logical explanation for this unusual event", stated Lisa. "You simply cannot form material out of nothing but air"
"Clearly Lincoln can, he was gone for a while so something must've happened to him", said Lana. "I bet it was cool!"
"It… kind of…"
"Lincoln what did happen while you were gone?", asked Leni as she got up. "Also what happened just now all I saw was a red flash"
"Lincoln formed a sword with nothing"
"Nothing? Well there's gotta be something"
"There wasn't anything Leni, Lincoln show her again", commanded Lynn.
"I don't know if-"
"Come on Lincoln it would be cool for Leni to see it, she likes shiny things", said Lana.
"Uh…"
Lincoln was feeling an extreme amount of discomfort as a drop of sweat fell down his forehead.
"S-sure… I guess…"
"Wait… is it bad? Or scary?", asked Leni.
"No"
"Can someone answer that's not Lucy?', asked Leni.
"No, it's really cool!"
"But then why does Lincoln look so… I don't know a big word"
"Stressed?"
"Oh yeah that…"
"I-It's just that… I'm so worried that you guys will hate me for this", replied Lincoln.
"Why would we hate you for it?"
"Well you guys do have a history of teasing me for being me", said Lincoln. "I already told Lynn, and she kind of pushed me to my limit… I don't want to hurt anyone"
"Linc we don't hate you at all, sure we may tease you and give you a hard time but we are family… we will always care for each other", explained Lori.
"And I'm sorry for making you stressed out, I was just worried…", apologized Lynn.
"What even started the argument?", asked Lori.
"I was drawing in my room and Lynn saw my drawing", answered Lincoln.
"You drew yourself getting hurt by… some sort of monsters I assume… I just wanted to make sure you were alright and I also just wanted an explanation… I'm working on toning it down a bit though… especially around you cause I can tell you don't like my rough personality, this was my mistake", added Lynn.
"Wait… if Lincoln is so worried about us hating him for something he did, is it bad? And what about the drawing was that really terrible? Who hurt him?", asked Leni in worry.
"I'm not really sure who hurt him, that's just what I saw", stated Lynn. "And I guess Lincoln was afraid of us worrying too much about it"
"That would be why Lincoln is distressed right now", mentioned Lisa.
"Off-topic but Lincoln, can you do the trick again please?", pleaded Lana.
"Yeah I really wanna see", said Luan.
"Uh… ok, if you all insist…"
Lincoln put his hand out on his side and with not much thinking he formed a red knife in his hand. Everyone awed in amazement including Leni. This was something no Ordinary human could figure out, not even Lisa could.
"Why are you so worried about this? OMG that's so amazing!", squealed Leni.
"Really?"
Lincoln looked at the knife he spawned in and smiled a bit.
"Thanks… I really wasn't expecting this"
"You're welcome, don't feel bad about yourself", said Luna.
Lincoln hesitated for a moment.
"Something the matter?"
"No… it's just that… well, my life is gonna be very different now", sighed Lincoln. "Even if you guys weren't negatively affected by this, others probably will be…"
"Who cares what jerks think about you? Didn't you tend to always ignore bullies? Especially after THAT incident"
"When I cried in front of my teacher? Yeah that was embarrassing so from then on there I just didn't care what people who didn't mean much to me said… but ever since what had happened to me, I guess I feel a little different", explained Lincoln.
"What DID happen in the supposed 'Underground'? More specifically, how did you get these powers?", questioned Lisa. "Did you draw it out?"
Lincoln sighed in defeat.
"It's a lot to say and it's… REALLY traumatizing to think about, but I guess I'm ready to discuss it now, I thought drawing it was helpful but, I think it just made me feel worse…", said Lincoln. "You guys are gonna want to sit down for this"
WIthout another word being said they all nodded and proceeded to the living room. Lincoln followed nervously behind and everyone sat on the couch.
"So… what happened…?"
Lincoln sighed and began to tell his tale. A LouderTale.
"Well, things started off ok… I was climbing that mountain and as I was I began to doubt myself a bit… I didn't see anything. Until I found a cave"
"A cave? Where there bats?", asked Lucy.
"Yeah actually, they came unexpectedly and before you knew it I was plunging down at least 1000 foot hole"
"Oh wait I remember you telling us this! You landed on flowers right?', asked Lori.
"Yeah… golden ones"
"How did you survive? That's simply impossible", said Lisa.
"I'm not sure myself, but I'm guessing the flowers I fell on broke my fall"
"How-"
"What kind of flowers were they?", asked Lisa.
"I… I'm not sure.. All I know was that they were golden-"
"Buttercups"
"What? Who said that?", questioned Lincoln.
"Uh what? We didn't say anything", said Lynn
Lincoln must've had another flashback that wasn't his…
"Guess my mind is still frazzled, the flowers are called Buttercups", stated Lincoln.
"Buttercups? I never heard of those flowers before", said Lana. "It just sounds like a food"
"I don't think that flower exists Lincoln, are you sure that's what they are called?", asked Lisa.
"Yeah, I guess so…"
Lincoln took a deep breath again and proceeded.
"Anyways, I was apparently knocked out from the fall… so I eventually woke up and I realized that I was in the underground. I got up and then after I went through the entrance I saw another flower, I didn't question it until it started talking"
"Yeah the talking flower without a soul, you said that before", stated Lucy.
"Uh huh…"
"Didn't you say that flower tried to kill you?", asked Luna.
"How do you guys remember this?", asked Lincoln.
"Don't know, we just did", replied Luan.
"Ok, well someone saved me-"
"The Toriel lady?"
"Yeah… her, she saved me… from Flowey"
"What happened after? When your phone supposedly died…"
"I had a hard time trusting her because of Flowey, but eventually I did… she took me down what was called 'The RUINS', she showed me some puzzles I had to solve and this one 'puzzle' in particular that was unique"
"What was the puzzle?"
"Well it really wasn't a puzzle, there was a dummy there and me knowing Lynn I was planning to hit the dummy, but… that's not what Toriel wanted me to do"
"What? She's nuts! You always want to beat up dumm- uh fake ones obviously", corrected Lynn.
"Well she wanted me to 'talk' to that dummy, that's when I realized that maybe all the monsters aren't as evil"
"You got hurt tho, clearly…"
"Yeah you screamed on one of the calls, you asked an oddly specific question", said Lisa.
"We will get to that later, when I encountered that dummy something really… REALLY odd happened… my soul, which is red, started glowing and 4 buttons appeared… FIGHT, ACT, ITEM, and MERCY"
"What did each of those buttons do?", asked Lori.
"Well… MERCY gave you the option to spare the monsters or flee… you can only flee if your soul is red, some monsters can manipulate the color of your soul for different effects, anyways… that's the best option to choose, unless sparing is unavailable"
"That's… interesting, does that work in the real world?"
"I'm not even sure what's considered the real world, but the button's aren't appearing anymore because well… uh… a-anyways the ITEM button gives you access to a possible item that you collected, whether it heals you-"
"Wait, so like a video game?", asked Leni.
"Now why would it be-"
"Yes Leni… exactly like a video game actually", said Lincoln.
"That's really weird"
"Yeah but I got used to it eventually, other items could possibly be used to protect you, or um… defend yourself…? The ACT button can play along with the MERCY button, when you want to spare someone they might not want to be spared right away… so you gotta act in certain ways to prove that you deserved to be spared as well"
"That seems a bit complicated", said Lana.
"It's really not…"
"What about the last button?", asked Luna.
"The last button…"
"The FIGHT button? Lemme guess that's involved with attacking?", questioned Lynn.
"Um, yeah"
Lincoln started to become nervous again.
Just then Lola was walking out of her room and managed to hear Lincoln speaking.
"The FIGHT button… was a way to… 'attack' the monsters, that button is o-only for cruel people who s-show no mercy"
"Have you ever used it?", asked Lynn.
"Uh…"
Lincoln was really shaken up at this point, while Lola was awaiting a response.
This would definitely catch him in his act, at least she didn't see what Lincoln did earlier.
"N-no… I-I n-never used it a-at all…"
That was the biggest lie he ever told, he's done MANY things with that FIGHT button.
Even destroyed it to make his devious acts 'easier'.
Lola was caught off guard, so he didn't use it? That was very strange in Lola's mind. She picked her pace back up and walked to where she was originally planning to go, the bathroom.
"Are you ok bro? DO you need a break?", asked Luna.
"N-no, I'm f-fine… uh… ignoring that, after the whole dummy spiel Toriel guided me through the ruins and helped me solve a bunch of puzzles, she then left me alone to do something and so I did the rest of the puzzles myself"
"Were they easy?", asked Luan.
"Somewhat, I failed on some of them"
"How did you fail?", asked Lisa.
"It was a cracked floor, I had to guess which floor wouldn't break through but I stepped on the wrong ones and fell down"
"OM- GOSH did you get hurt?", asked Leni.
"It stung a little yeah, but trust me when I say that was 0.01% compared to the OTHER times I got hurt"
"Yeah that drawing was brutal as hell", exclaimed Lynn.
"Lynn language, and can we see that drawing?", asked Lori.
"Its up-"
"I have it right here!"
Lynn got it out of her pocket and showed everyone while Lincoln had a perplexed deadpanned look on his face.
"Ohhh, wow…"
"DUde… this happened?"
"GEEZ"
"I can't look at this sorry…"
"DO you mind elaborating?", asked Lisa.
Lincoln snatched the paper from Lynn's hands and looked at it again.
"Sure… I guess, the fire attacking me from Toriel happened when I tried to escape the RUINS"
"So… kidnapping?"
"Basically, but she meant well in the end… that bone hitting me from Papyrus- the skeleton, happened to be what I assume was an accident… Papyrus is really nice and caring and I don't think he would do that on purpose-"
"That doesn't look like 'an accident'...", said Lisa.
"He w-wouldn't do it u-unless he h-had a g-good reason too… Anyways, I still have a missing tooth from that incident. Unfortunately, the two spears stabbing me in this picture were from Undyne- a piranha. She was part of something called the Royal Guard which was an establishment to annihilate humans"
"Wait wait wait… how are you alive right now with no injuries from that?", asked Lynn.
"Did some spirits heal you?", asked Lucy.
"No… you see, there were these 'save points' and I touched them to heal myself up, also items helped that too"
"Ain't no way you healed from that that quickly", said Lynn.
"I concur with Lynn… surprisingly", added Lisa.
"Yeah you're right… I died-"
"How? You're alive!"
"That's what the saving tactic does, save me from death… I don't think it works anymore though"
"That's actually kind of cool", stated Lana.
"Sounds harsh…", said Lucy.
"Shut Lucy"
"Uh… well, in the end of the fight I befriended Undyne and we bonded, we'd just share our life stories and what not… she honestly reminded me of Lynn a lot based on her personality"
"Aw man I wanna meet this fish lady", exclaimed Lynn.
"You two would've gotten alone, the electrocution part of this drawing was from when I screamed on that call, Alphys made a entertainment human eradication robot and the robot was giving me a weird quiz show"
"So that's why you asked me the specific question of Two trains, Train A, and Train B, simultaneously depart Station A and Station B. Station A, and Station B are 252.5 miles apart from each other. Train A is moving at 124.7 mph towards Station B, and Train B is moving at 253.5 mph towards Station A. If both trains departed at 10:00 AM and it is now 10:08, how much longer until both trains pass each other… which is 32.049 minutes", explained Lisa.
"...That would've useful to know earlier Lisa"
"I couldn't think that quickly"
"Plus how in the world did you remember that?", asked Lincoln.
"I remember a lot of things simultaneously"
"K… Uh, so I was too late to answer that question and I got zapped, I didn't die though… this spider lady name muffet-"
"Ew spider? WHERE?", panicked Leni.
"Relax there's no real spider Len", reassured Lori.
"Oh phew…"
"...Muffet, killed me once by using spider attacks, also some unknown force oddly enough… I didn't get hurt too much from Mettaton EX- the robot but upgraded"
"I would like to know the concoctions of this robot that goes by Mettaton", Said Lisa who was intrigued"
"Me too, sounds like my kind of robo", said Luan. "I love entertaining people"
"Your entertainment JOKES don't work though", said Lynn.
"I still entertain people"
"People who have no actual sense of humor"
"Shut"
"No You"
"Guys please stop and let me finish talking?"
"OK sorry go ahead Lincoln", apologized Lynn.
"...Anyways, Mettaton didn't hurt me that much but he did emotionally… using my suffering for everyone's entertainment…"
"Oh, see I would never do that", stated Luan.
"Ya did it before", said Luna.
"I did…?"
Everyone deadpanned Luan.
"April… 1st…?"
"OHHH right uh, I'll uh try to stop doing that", said Luan.
"I doubt that's because you said it before and still did it the next year", exclaimed Lisa.
"Oh… my bad"
"Anyways for the 1000th time-"
"Wait, was that robot fight broadcasted on tv?", asked Lori.
"I don't know? Even if it was it probably wouldn't be aired on the surface, that would be extremely embarrassing"
"Makes sense"
"AHEM AHEM, ANYWAYS… after THAT fight, I continued by journey and Alphys- the scientist in the underground, told me that in order to escape I needed a human AND a monster soul… meaning I was going to have to kill the king"
"I thought you told us you never touch the FIGHT button"
Lincoln's left eye twitched.
"I didn't……. But Asgore- the king, destroyed the Mercy button so I had no choice, everytime I pressed it I took the knife and attempted damage, I died numerous times and I didn't want to ruin my reputation of being a good person. And after finding out what happened to his dead son- Asirel, I felt even more guilty"
"SO what did you do in the end?"
"He gave me the option to give him Mercy, but when I did… something terrible happened"
"What happened?"
"Flowey-"
"Ugh not that flower, don't tell me he hurt you after", said Lynn annoyed.
"UHH… well he killed Asgore, absorbed the 6 human souls that he already collected, and uh… he turned into this gigantic human flower thing and proceeded to um…"
Lincoln glanced at the drawing again. Since it was the most brutal fight, it was in the middle.
"Is that what mutant human plant thing was?", asked Leni.
"...Yeah… that was terrible… I died like- 10 times in one fight? I don't remember how much but it was a lot, and… at one point he completely teared my entire arm off"
"OH NAHHH"
"HOW ARE YOU OK FROM THAT?"
"I revived-"
"MENTALLY?"
"That's the thing, I'm still traumatized from that, probably one of the worst experiences in the underground"
""ONE OF? THERE'S MORE?"
"Man I wished we didn't leave Lincoln alone for this", said Leni in fear. "We could've protected him!"
"Oh ho Leni, there's no protecting me from that, everyone would've died in 2 seconds MAX", exclaimed Lincoln. "I almost LOST my determination because of it"
"Is that why you have red eyes?"
"I'll get to that in a second, after I fought Flowey and gave him mercy"
"Why the hell would you spare him after what he did?"
"I'M GETTING TO THAT"
"Ok OK sorry"
"Also Lucy, LANGUAGE", scolded Lori.
"Hell is not a bad word", said Lucy.
"It's a word that shouldn't be used around young people *cough* Lana and Lisa", explained Luna.
"I really don't care for coarse language, I'm a genius"
"OMG GUYS STOP"
"Ok yeah, sorry Lincoln please continue"
"OK… well, I spared him- DON'T SAY ANYTHING, and my previous Save File was restored, so I went back and hung out with Undyne and Alphys for a bit, then Alphys decided to show me a dark and terrible secret she has been keeping"
"What is it?"
"I don't think it would be a good idea to say-"
"How is anything worse than telling us YOU GOT YOUR ARM RIPPED OFF YOUR BODY?", shouted Lynn.
"Ok good point… uh well so basically Alphys was conducting an experiment, she wanted to see if there was a way to persist after death like I could and/or escape the barrier without a human soul… it seemed like a good idea at first, until it wasn't…"
Lincoln hesitated and started shaking from the memory.
"You good?"
"YEaH… the reason I c-can survive after death is because of determination, each human soul has that… but not monsters souls, their souls are purely just magic"
"Then how can you do that voodoo sword knife thing?", asked Lisa.
"Probably because I unlocked the TRUE determination power, Alphys said it was activated the moment I fell into the underground, but I couldn't actually use the magic until I got rid of what was blocking me from it. That being said, monsters wanted to have the ability of determination, so Alphys injected extracted determination from human souls into Fallen (almost dead) monster souls"
"2 questions… One, what was blocking you from your power? Two, how was that a bad idea?", questioned Lynn.
"One… there was this uh ghost spirit thing named Chara, which I assume was the first human to fall, and she followed me around"
"Spirit?", inquired Lucy.
"Yes, Chara could control me and, what I assumed was that Chara is a SHE kept saying I was doing the route wrong? I replaced some human name Frisk? I don't fully understand what she meant… but she was blocking me from accessing real determination, so with my own determination I broke connected with her and broke control of myself"
"Woah…"
"Two… When Alyphys injected the determination, the monster souls couldn't handle it, they simply don't have enough physicality to withstand it cause it is so powerful, so they… melted… the monsters melted into each other created mutated THINGS"
"Eww I hate the concept of melting", complained Lori.
"Me too, that's why I was scared to explain it"
"Well keep going"
"Fine… after I escaped her invested lab, I went back to where I fought kind Asgore, I thought I was gonna have to fight him again"
"Did you decide to kill him this time?"
"What? NO! I w-would never d-do that… i WOULD NEVER DO THAT"
"Ok geez Linc calm down-'
"S-sorry, just these haunting memories are messing with my head, I actually didn't fight Asgore that time, Toriel came in and saved me from him and eventually all the friends I made also came and it was extremely heartwarming, Toriel, Papyrus, Undyne, Alphys- AW I forgot to mention Sans, Papyrus's brother"
"Who's sans?"
"Basically Luan but more lazy and some Lynn mixed with Lisa"
"Honestly I could see that", said Leni.
"How? That is way too oddly specific"
"I don't know I just do"
"I need to stop saying anyways, Sans is a skeleton like Papyrus… After we were all talking and stuff Alphys asked Papyrus who helped them all get to the same place, he stated a talking flower and before you knew it Flowey spawned in and captured everyone including me in his vines"
"NOOOOO NOT THAT"
"QUIET IT GET GOOD, Flowey then absorbed all the monsters souls in the underground, and when I say all I mean ALL… he also absorbed all the human souls… you need 7 to break the barrier"
"SO he broke the barrier? MONSTERS ARE ROAMING IN OREGON RIGHT NOW?"
"NO PLEASE LISTEN GUYS! Stop interrupting to understand", demanded Lincoln.
"Sorry again"
"It's fine… Turns out Flowey was actually ASRIEL as I mentioned him earlier, we fought for a while but I never died. I was too determined to even go back to my save file and restart the fight… so it was pretty easy, I learned the backstory of Chara and Asirel and saved Asriel including my new friends, I then thought Flowey wasn't so bad then… until I realized that even though Asirel was Flowey, they weren't the same at all, Asirel was a sweet troubled goat boy while flowey was a murderous plant with vile intentions"
"How can a Flower be a goat?"
"That's really sporadic", exclaimed Lisa.
"Uh what?"
"Random…"
"Ohhh"
"I don't even know how that's possible myself, it mentioned that in the lab I think but I still didn't understand"
"This all is very confusing", said Lana.
"Maybe I can elaborate later?"
"Nonsense, I will conduct a bunch of research about this later, thank you for introducing a new topic to me", thanked Lisa.
"Uh, you're welcome…"
"So how did you escape?", asked Lori.
"UHhhh, I… well basically I uh… resetted first?"
"Reset?"
"Uh yeah… I guess it's another mechanic of determination, like saving and loading… when you LOAD a SAVE a File that's just going back to your check point. When you RESET that is restarting to where you started in the underground. I'm guessing it's supposed to erase everyone's memories… but they didn't for some reason"
"Are you feeling ok dude?", asked Luna. "That seems a little whack"
"I'm fine, and I agree, it's really weird"
"Perhaps they remembered because something glitched? Didn't you say you replaced someone else?", asked Lisa.
"Frisk… yeah them, I have no idea who they are yet I saw their name on a tag and Chara as mentioned them before"
"Maybe I can help you get access to them", said Lucy.
"That's not a bad idea"
"At first I thought monsters weren't real, but there is no possible way you hallucinated ALL that… and your eyes are pretty good evidence that it actually happened", stated Lisa.
"How did you get out of the underground if you reset?", asked Leni.
"I went through the same route again except different", lied Lincoln. "All I did were those two routes, I N-NEVER k-killed anyone"
"Don't you need a monster soul to escape?", asked Luan.
"Yeah, but my soul is different for some reason, even Alphys tested it"
"What's so different about it?"
"It's a human AND monster soul"
"Woah, that's incredible"
"How are you not melting?????!??!?!??!??!?!??!!!!!?!??!?!?!", panicked Leni. (Yes I has stroke while typing that)
"LENI relax, I'm not melting because I am a human and I have enough physicality to withstand determination… But… I'm also a monster I guess"
"That would explain the powers"
"Oddly enough I don't think that come with the monster soul, my soul was normally human before and BEFORE I 'destroyed' Chara I could see the sword form faintly in my hands"
"Then is there anything wrong with the monster soul? How did you even get it?"
"A glitch maybe? One of the effects are that I have new memories that aren't even mine"
"Probably the memories of that monster's soul Lincoln, who's memories was it?', asked Lisa.
"Sans…"
"Then your soul is combined with sans's soul"
"But sans is alive right now"
"Hmmmm"
…
"I don't know, this is beyond the scope of science and basic human understanding", stated Lisa. "I promise I will try to Figure this out later"
"Figure? Where?"
"Leni you play Doors too much", said Lana.
Luan opened her mouth and was about to say something.
"LUAN NO-"
"You should stop opening Doors or you won't be able to Hide cause you'll be Seeked so quickly that your Eyes won't see it, then you will surely Screech and Halt in place… and you don't want to be Rushed or you'll be Ambushed violently by Timothy, you better Figure out a solution to this-"
"LUAN STOP WE HEARD ENOUGH"
…
"That was pretty good though", admitted Lincoln.
"Really? SInce when did you find Luan's jokes funny? Have you been hit in the head?", asked Lynn. "Oh wait-"
"No but as you know by now a bunch of other more violent things happened", explained Lincoln.
"So back on topic, you just simply crossed through like nothing happened?", asked Lori.
"Yeah, well I knew something happened obviously… I'm extremely different from before including my appearance", said Lincoln. "...It's… actually kind of upsetting"
Lincoln looked at the floor despondently.
…
"I wish it never happened"
"I see, what you went through seemed so tough", comforted Lori. "It's ok-"
"No! It's not! These memories are terrible and it's probably going to negatively affect me, a lot of things could idk trigger me?"
"Hmm"
Everyone felt bad for Lincoln, they just wanted him to be happy. But that would be extremely difficult because what he just explained was extremely heartbreaking. No one, especially an 11 year old kid, should have to go through that kind of pain.
"Would it help if you spent time with each of us individually since you're back now?"
Lincoln froze and thought about what Lori said.
Yeah… that would help him actually.
"Sure…"
"That's great, now let's get your mind off this, if you want we can discuss more later, but right now we need to bond with you again!!"
What Lincoln said was terrible…
But of course, there were still things he was leaving out…
Some terrible things…
