Sabine's POV
"so, your telling me that Pettigrew, that dude who was always following you guys around, was actually the secret keeper and your innocent?!" Tonks yelled.
I winced a little, peeking up at the ceiling for signs the dangerous duo hadn't woken up from their much needed nap.
we were in the living room/dining area, sitting at the well worn oak table and eating biscuits Remus had found in a tin in the cabinet.
I sat by Sirius, arm sling along the back of Tonks's chair, she hadn't noticed.
"yep" Sirius replied, popping the p loudly.
"but-how? What the fuck! How did this happen?!" Tonks's auror brain looked about ready to explode from the implications of this.
"That is also, a very long story, one that would take several hours to explain." Remus interrupted hastily, a warm grimace pulling through.
it was clear he hadn't slept well for at least a week, hell, I couldn't blame him. If my kid had been missing and unable to contact me, I'd be a fucking mess.
"I've got all day, all week actually. Mum's not expecting me for another week. Hopefully everything went smooth with Charlie and his parents think we just left early."
Sirius and Remus looked at each other, exhaustion pouring from every, well, pore. They did not look up for the mental stress and ptsd this particular story would bring.
"Tonks, it's been a bit of a day-night- whatever, can this wait a little bit?" I asked gently, shifting my arm onto her shoulders.
it was bold, fuck.
okay, ignore my brain vomit.
she didn't look happy about it, but her sleep deprivation won over her curiosity. She nodded.
"fine, but after sleep-"
"and food?"
"and food, I want the truth, the whole fucking story. Don't think I won't still call the aurors on you."
All three of us nodded.
"upstairs, 4 bedrooms (thank god for that), the one at the end of the hall is ours and the one next to it is the littles. The rest is free game."
"thank you." I agreed, both of us standing to leave.
Remus placed a hand on my shoulder.
"no, thank you Sabine. Thank you so much for-for bring prongslet back to us." His voice shook a little with emotion, but I didn't mind.
Sirius stood with us, pulling me and his boyfriend (boyfriend?lover? Who fucking knows?!) into a warm hug.
I melted a bit, completely missing Tonks warm look she glazed over us before leaving us to our moments. The only sign of her going upstairs was the steps creaking.
Breaking the hug, I simply nodded, words not being able to describe my feelings.
I let go, shooting them both one more grateful look before heading up to bed.
I choose the bedroom closest to the kids, dead asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.
