Chapter Thirteen:
Making Plans for The Next Attack
Daphne stood beneath the shower-head, her eyes closed, feeling the water run down every inch of her hair and her body.
She and Fred had gotten out of the pool a quarter of an hour before and were ready to start making plans for their next encounter with the Ghost Biker with the rest of the group, but after spending a while in the water, a shower was in order.
Fred stood behind Daphne, rinsing his hair and cleansing himself. His girlfriend still wore her purple bikini, just as Fred was still wearing his trunks. Shadows passed by the curtains and a couple people laughed while splashing in the pool, nobody came to bother them.
She turned around, locking eyes with Fred, who found her smooth arms locking around his neck just as he felt his own smooth hands grasping her smooth hips. He dipped in and they shared a long, deep, heartfelt kiss.
Daphne lifted up her leg and Fred pressed her against the shower wall, their lips danced and Daphne pressed herself against her boyfriend's body as they both felt their endless love for one another.
In the park, Sonic sat with Amy, Shaggy and Scooby as Velma paced up and down, waiting for the last two members of the group.
Both girls were back in their trademark outfits with Shaggy wearing his green shirt and long brown pants. Sonic tapped his foot and checked his watch, which he occasionally did while waiting patiently for something to happen during his adventures.
Scooby's ears drooped and the dog grunted, "Gee, what is taking them so long to dry off and get changed?"
Velma rolled her eyes. "Jinkies, you said it, Scoob." She remarked.
Sonic stood up. "I'll take care of it." He offered.
Without a word, he sped off to the pool area and saw the unmistakable shadows of Fred and Daphne moving behind the curtains in the shower. Smelling the steam, Sonic peaked behind the curtain and caught a glimpse of Fred and Daphne making out, exchanging tongues as they French-kissed.
The speedster backed off, blushing red with the image in his head, before quickly racing back to the park.
"They're making out in the shower." He reported.
"I can tell where that is going." Amy commented.
Velma rolled her eyes again. "Let's give the love-birds some space." She said, "Besides, with all the Ghost Biker stuff going on and how near-stressful our job at catching him is, we all need some downtime. For Fred and Daphne, they're pretty much making love to ease the tension in themselves so they can focus."
"Like, I didn't think of it that way..." Shaggy said.
"Me neither." Scooby barked.
"It's alright, guys. We're here!"
Fred and Daphne were approaching, now sporting their trademark attire with Fred sporting his ascot, white shirt and blue pants and Daphne wearing her scarf, leggings and purple dress even as she dabbed her hair with a towel.
Fred kissed his girlfriend's hand and Daphne put away her towel before whipping out a hairdryer, the mystery solver took a minute to dry her hair, then she joined the group.
"There's no doubt the Biker will be making another raid on the town tonight..." Fred said, "But this time, we're going to get him good and all we need is a good plan, which will involve nets and bait, the live kind of bait..."
"I know where this is goin'." Shaggy said.
"Sonic, you're our back up!" Fred pointed to the blue hedgehog, "The Ghost Biker seems to be really obsessed with you, all you need to do is..."
"Hate to interrupt you there, Fred..." Sonic raised his hand, "But I think it would be easier if we discussed the plan indoors, just in case if the Ghost Biker is watching us and has some means of overhearing our plan since he could find a way to outsmart us again."
"Like, he's got a point." Shaggy quipped.
"Um, then again, hold on a sec..." Sonic stood and started running around the vicinity of Resort Town at high speed, then he ran back to the park where the gang was still waiting.
"No sign of the Biker or anyone potentially connected to him." The hedgehog reported, he pulled out a small black-colored orb with red-eyes and wings, "However, I did find this robotic fly-looking device close by. Kinda suspicious, it's like someone was spying on us and trying to listen in..."
"JINKIES!" Velma exclaimed, "Is that a flaming skull insignia on it?"
She adjusted her glasses and Sonic handed her the strange-looking robot, which was deactivated thanks to his quick-thinking. It took a minute, then Velma grabbed the device and stomped it under her feet before looking at Sonic and the others.
"This mystery just got a lot fishier with this one..." She said, "Especially since the Biker apparently placed a piece of spying tech here in town with our backs turned, but there certainly is something about this case that we don't know about. Whatever's going on, our best bet to get the answer is to catch the Ghost Biker."
"And that leads back to my plan!" Fred said, clicking his fingers, "As I was saying, it will involve net-related traps and, of course, live bait..."
He pointed to Sonic, "You're our asset, Sonic. The Biker has some kind of obsession with you that we can take advantage of, your job is to lure him to East Avenue where Daphne and I will be waiting to drop the net on our friend, assuming there are no complications."
The blonde team leader looked at Amy and Velma, "You two will be key in making sure there's no way for the Biker to escape town, you're going to help box him in and ensure he won't escape from us..."
"No problem, Fred." Amy nodded, bringing out her hammer, "I'll see if I can derail that flame-headed psycho's path with some justice delivered by my Piko-Piko Hammer."
"And as for the bait, Shaggy and Scooby have that one covered." Fred looked to the duo, who yelped with surprise, "You guys know what to do, the Biker will chase you as well and you're going to be on Sonic's side despite not having the same speed powers as he does."
Scooby jumped in alarm. "Us... B-B-Bait?" He stammered, "No way, no how. Leave me outta this..."
"Would you do it for a Scooby snack, Scooby?" Velma asked.
"Two Scooby Snacks?" Daphne asked.
Instantly, Sonic was struck by a thought and he dashed off into the diner, found Serena Mongoose in the middle of her shift and asked her to fetch a chili-dog. Serena got Sonic his order and the speedster headed out the door, racing back over to the park with the chili-dog in hand.
"Would you do it for a chili-dog, Scoob?" Sonic asked the trembling dog.
"OH, COME ON!" Fred shouted, "Chili-Dogs? Now?!"
Scooby lightened up and stuck out his tongue, panting like a dog. Sonic offered the chili-dog to the Great Dane and Scooby snatched it up in his jaws, chowing down every last bit until there was nothing left but a tiny bit of chili-sauce on Sonic's glove which Scooby licked off.
"I would." The dog said.
"Guess that works too." Velma shrugged, "Nice job, Sonic."
Fred smiled. "Now that we're in agreement, let's go over the plan one more time..."
He began giving out instructions to Mystery Inc and both Sonic and Amy, reminding them how the plan was going to work and making sure they knew what to do when the Ghost Biker arrived in town once again. Listening to Fred and going over the plan, Sonic felt more confident that they would succeed.
The plan had to work, unless they wanted to find themselves being reprimanded for failure by the townsfolk and having to spend weeks attempting to catch a motorcycle-riding lunatic with a flaming-skull with an affinity for trouble...
