Chapter 10 Naruto (Meddling Fate)
Minato stands on top the giant toad he summoned, ready to face off with the approaching nine-tailed fox. Suddenly a flash of light brightens the area, he and nearby shinobis shield the eyes from the blinding ray, the fox flinch back. When the light recedes a young woman with long flowing raven hair (who appear out of thin air) stands between him and the kitsune.
Dressed in a solid black kimono with pink water lilies and scattered rose petals, a gold obi around slender waist, tabi socks with sandals covered small feet, her back to Minato.
She holds out a pale hand towards the surprisingly quiet and still kitsune, to the onlookers added surprise and confusion the nine-tailed stare intensely at the woman.
Horror filled Minato when the kitsune starts moving forward again, thinking her in danger the blond made to command his summon but she spoke and her words stuns him.
"My poor boy" her tone lace with sorrow.
The shinobis watch in stupor as the nine-tailed lower its head then sniffs her, delicate hands reach out and stroke the towering creature like a domestic house pet, it releases a pleased rumble then pulls away when her hands glowed and the light spread coating the kitsune's entire form.
Its body erupts into flames, shrinking in size. The flames subside revealing a boy in his late teen, daze emerald slit catlike eyes, long auburn hair in a high ponytail dressed like a lord's son. The woman pulls him into a tight embrace, her form visibly shaking.
"Mom?" the boy spoke confuse; his word made the shinobis greatly unease.
The boy, previously the nine-tailed fox seems disoriented, "What's going on, he glances around unsure, where are we?"
'That's the nine-tail's mother?!' the onlookers thought with disbelief and dread.
"That doesn't matter, she sniffles, I'm just glad to have found you after so long" she nuzzles into his chest.
"Huh? Long? A week isn't that long, he scratches the back of his neck with a frown, isn't that's the usual time it takes to patrol the border with father" he states puzzle.
She pulls away slightly with a sad smile, "Shippo, you've been missing for more than a century."
Emerald eyes widens in shock, the shinobi's as well, "What…but how?" he asks weakly.
"We don't know exactly how but you were forced summoned here, tears continuously stream down pale cheeks, it took us sometime to track you because your energy was being suppressed, we figured you were sealed somewhere or worst" she bites her bottom lip frustrated while he dries her tears with his haori sleeve.
"You know I don't like seeing you cry mom, he sighs, sorry for making you guys worry" he cups her face lovingly then place a tender kiss on her marked forehead.
"I'm just glad you're ok, she composes herself, you should head back first, the others must be worried since I left as soon as I sensed you, she pulls a black titanium folding fan from her obi belt, snaps it open while channeling energy into it then slash the space beside them and a galaxy like portal rips open, I'm sure they will be happy to see you" she snaps the fan close then gently ushers him to enter.
"Mom?" he spoke hesitant.
"We'll talk later when I get back Shippo, an overly sweet smile upturn cherry lips, I have some unfinish business here."
'Scary' he shudders with a nervous smile, "Right, just don't go overboard" the portal close behind him.
A dark expression overtook the first, turning her attention elsewhere she ignores the wary humans with brandish weapons, using the close fan she opens another portal in front her when she pinpoints her target.
Reaching in delicate hand locks around a throat, pulling back reveals a masked individual struggling in her grasp, clawed fingers digging into their neck. Minato's eyes widen seeing the ninja that attacked him earlier.
"You have messed with the wrong mother's child" she sneers coldly, tightening her grip making it hard for him to breath.
'What the hell, the masked ninja tries prying her fingers from his neck unsuccessfully, how is she so strong' he activates his kekkei genkai to retaliate but she sends a jolt of power throughout his body rendering it useless.
'What was that, it feels like my inside is on fire and she canceled the sharingan, how?' he feels his body losing strength, weakly grasping the wrist of the hand holding him.
"How dare you humans enslave and imprison my son, you'll all pay, she sticks the fan in her obi, starting with you, she sticks her free hand into his chest, resulting in an agonizing screech, the area ripples like disturbed water surface causing no visible damage, hurts don't it" malice ooze from every word, moving her hand around inside, he release a blood-curdling scream renewing his struggle.
He went limp after a sickening snap, pulling back her hand reveals a dimly glowing golf ball size orb, he collapses in a heap once she releases him then swallows the orb in one gulp, "Corrupt souls always taste disgusting, she grimaces, I will never get used to it."
"Who are you?" Minato interrupts her musing canceling his summon standing a good distant from her.
Blazing sapphire meets cautious sky blue when she turns to him.
'Wow, so gorgeous.'
"Isn't it rude to ask for ones name without introducing yourself first?" she sneered in mock courtesy.
Her words snap the blond out of his daze state, "I guess you're right, his eyes narrowed slightly, I'm the fourth hokage of the hidden leaf, Minato Namikaze."
'So, he's the leader of his people' she blinks slowly.
"And you are?" Minato prompts.
Grasping the folding fan, she snaps it open gracefully shielding the lower half of her face leaving cold sapphire visible, "Kagome Higurashi Taisho, Lady of the West, Mate to Demon Lord Sesshomaru Taisho, ruler of Makai" she states coolly.
'She's royalty!?' the listening shinobis exclaim inwards.
"Forgive me but I have never heard of Makai before" Minato words cautious.
"Of course you wouldn't, she scoffs, 'it is the demon realm after all.'
"Why is that?" he asks curious.
She remains silent, lightly fluttering her fan.
"Okay, he felt awkward, what are your intentions here?" he eyes the body at her feet. 'She's extremely dangerous to kill that ninja so easily.'
"Not that am obligated to answer but I'm a benevolent female, suddenly ninjas wearing animal mask surrounds her, 'how foolish', you don't interest me at the moment, she ignore the masked humans, my only business is with the people involved in my son's situation and the demonic signatures I sense scattered across the land, the shinobis listen intrigue, there are a few close by though they're irrelevant being so diluted by human blood however a few seem of pureblood but their presence are weak most likely sealed, her brow scrunch and the grip on her fan tightens, I intent to collect them before leaving this plain" she informs patiently.
'Is she referring to the tailed beasts?' the shinobis wonder unease.
"I'm afraid we can't let you leave, one of the masked ninjas finally spoke, you'll have to come with us" they then move to attack her.
Minato while surprise by their sudden arrival and irked at their reckless action, orders for them to stop but it was too late.
"Foolish humans, sapphire eyes glows with power, high pressured wind blows outwards from her knocking them back, Minato shield his face, you think you can subdue me, snapping the fan shut cherry lips stretch into a chilling smile, how amusing, an otherworldly glow outline her form, I should just purify everything within sight but I'm nice like that so I'll be going instead, she starts to fade like a specter, but worry not I will be back, oh before I go" she flick a ball of blue light to the dead body at her feet then completely vanish with a dark smirk.
The only thing remaining of the corpse was glistening ash.
Minato didn't know what to make of the situation but he was relieved to not resort to sealing the fox in his son he doubt it would have ended well. With a tired sigh he starts giving orders then went to check on his wife and child leaving the rest to the third hokage, who arrive a little earlier, after one final thought, 'should I alert the other kages?'
The following morning Kagome appears above a large lake with a frown. Holding out a hand palm down the water begins to bubble. A large creature broke through the surface with a roar, Kagome watch unimpressed as the three tails trashed about.
With a circling motion of pointed finger, rings of light circle the turtle like beast immobilizing it. Balling her fist, the three-tails shrunk to the size of a golf ball then fly to her palm, the light fade revealing a bracelet with the beast attach to it as a charm.
"Did I ever mention how much I love this spell, a pleased smile curls painted lips, collecting them like this will be a lot easier, she muse fastening it to her wrist, now onto the next."
Materializing before a child sitting by themselves dirty with a few bruises Kagome huffs, "a vessel, the child looks up at the sound of her voice with blank eyes, no wonder its presence is so weak, holding out the bracelet the child eyes glow white, mouth agape as red vape essence seeps out forming another charm on the accessory.
The child slumps over lifeless, bending she taps the center of their forehead the body glow faintly then fades healing the injuries, 'hn, should I take her along, Kagome ponders watching the child stir, maybe I should, consider the condition I found her in the villagers won't care.'
"Girl, what is your name?"
"Yugito" she replies timidly.
"Well, Yugito do you want to come with me?"
Kagome hold out a hand to her with a gentle caring smile. Dark eyes widen sparkling with hope, a bit hesitant at first, she slowly took hold with a nod.
The two disappear from the area.
The former time traveler went back to Makai needing to talk with her mate, see her children and settling the young girl.
After Minato inform the third what happen, they called for a Kage summon.
Minato learned about missing jinchuriki and their tailed beasts at the meeting and inform the other Kages of the nine-tails incident, showing them sketches of her, 'she was serious and really powerful, well she is the nine-tails mother.'
The Kages 'agreed' to 'cooperate' and be on high alert for anything and 'provide assistance' when needed.
Six months later and none of the hidden villages were infiltrated by the woman. Other than 'special' shinobis going missing or KIA without finding the body nothing stood out than usual.
The following year two tailed beast vanished without a trace leaving only two rouge ninjas of the Akatsuki bodies.
A month later two more jinchuriki disappeared and the villages with the remaining tailed beasts raised security to max but a year passed with nothing happening however they remain on high alert.
Six years later the disappearance of talented shinobis nation wide was very concerning they almost forgot about the nine-tails mother.
Kagome silently appears on the training ground where a young boy was practicing 'alone' with shurikens.
"Hello there, he startles then turns quickly brandishing a kunai, no need for hostility, I only want to talk" she sits and a throne materialize cushioning her whilst erecting a barrier to prevent interruptions.
"Are you the one capturing jinchuriki?" he asks guard up.
"Aren't you perceptive, crossing her legs exposed pale creamy thighs from the side split of her navy Chinese dress, a cup of tea on a saucer appears in hand after taking a sip she continues, about the demon sealed inside you, I can remove him easily if you want" she offers blowing on the hot liquid.
"I'm not stupid, I know what will happen once he's removed, death" he states, the sun's glare reflects on his dark eye wear.
"Oh, that would only happen when handled by an amateur, she counters glancing at the shinobis attacking the barrier amuse at their wasted efforts, have you and Gyuki bond young one?"
He was taken aback that she knows the eight-tails name.
Kagome stands with a gentle smile the chair and tea set vanished, "I will give you the same offer as the others, the Miko slowly close the eight feet distance between them watching him tense, do you want to come with me where you will be accepted, live without being fear by prejudiced humans, be treated like a normal person without the looks of disgust and hatred, standing closer she holds out a slender hand, all you have to do is take my hand to accept."
The young boy lowers his guard conflicted, mind racing, oddly the eight-tails was silent, glancing at his fellow shinobis surrounding the outer dome he spots the Raikage attacking the barrier.
"Do you really think they will accept you fully, her words regain his attention, you don't belong with these humans they will never completely accept someone different from them, he hesitates, you will outlive them by centuries and what do you think they will do once they realize this, its best to live amongst your own kind."
Putting away his weapon he grasps her hand firmly.
"You made the right choice, she smiles brightly, what's your name little one?"
"Killer Bee"
"Well young Bee when you arrive don't be afraid or attack anyone, they will take good care of you until I return."
Bee gave a confused look before being swallowed by a swirling portal.
Task done Kagome turns to the shinobis with a wave smirking at the furious looking Kage before vanishing.
Three days later Kagome appears before a small redhead child surrounded by sand and dead bodies, "oh my, it seems I'll have to extract this one."
Minutes later the Miko cradle the sleeping boy to her chest, "poor thing, she coos nuzzling him, just one more stop then go home for a while" she vanishes with the child just as four shinobis appears.
Minato was in the Hokage tower going through reports when a familiar voice startles him.
"You look well, Mr. Hokage"
Placing down the document calmly Minato looks up at the raven hair beauty then raised a brow at the sleeping child in her arms.
"I take your presence to mean you've achieved your agenda" he states.
She smirks in response. Siting down a chair appears for her, "demons don't belong to this world anymore, being overrun by closedminded humans, they are safest amongst their kind" she adjust the dozing child in her hold.
"I see, his brow pinched, am I to assume you're not human then?"
Kagome chuckles softly, "I thought I was once but that wasn't the case, as for the reason I came its to warn and give you a bit of advice from an elder, she chuckles at his expression from her statement, don't be fool by my appearance I may look young, well I am seen as such by my kin but I'm older than every human here."
Minato didn't know what to say to that, he leans back in his chair with a sigh.
"First, about that man, Danzo, he and all his lackeys are going to expire 'mysteriously' in a few minutes and nothing can stop it"
The blonds eyes widen, she holds up a hand preventing him from speaking.
"For all he did and is planning to do, its long overdue, next the supposedly dead and or missing ninjas with special affiliation are within our care, don't be too surprise when others goes missing in the future and third some problem that would have cause major issues later were taken care of, two examples, Orochimaru and a suppose long dead Uchiha, your welcome"
Minato blinks owlishly rendered speechless.
"And last some insight behind the creation of 'Kekkei Genkai', that peaks his interest, somewhere in whichever family or clan an ancestor got frisky with a demon or a halfling producing a child with diluted demon blood resulting in weaker traits and ability or abilities of their demonic parent, the blond listens fascinated, if they continue to couple with humans each generations their blood further dilutes thus weakening the demons blood though still more potent than the humans which most can't handle, so it will instinctually go dormant to protect their weak kin but will awaken and manifest in a particular way specific to the demon ability once one express a strong desire or backed into a corner, thus Kekkei Genkai"
"What, Minato breathes stunned, impossible."
"Believe what you will but it won't change the facts, take the Uchiha and Hyuga for example, their blood comes from the same powerful bat Daiyokai, it is why even though diluted their blood is still strong but their issues worsen when they starts inbreeding, corroding their blood making them more unstable but they mistakenly thought it strengthen them, the sharingan wasn't originally red and the byakugan shouldn't alter the face when activated, having a halfling is risky enough but to inbreed is asking for destruction" she sighs.
'That explain some things' the blond realize conflicted.
"Well that's about all I care to say for now, she stands readjusting the still sleeping child, I'll be peaking in from time to time at the Shinobi Nations, you're smart enough to comprehend why I gave you such valuable information or at least will, in time" Kagome states with a dismissive smile just as Minato was about to speak.
"I look forward to see what you do next Minato-chan, she begins to fade, oh one more thing, I don't like your wife, the previous prison for my son and she will pay for that but don't worry I won't kill her I wouldn't do that to poor Naruto, I'm not so cruel to leave a child motherless, there are other ways to punish someone without physically harming them, until next we meet, farewell" she disappears wearing a devious smile.
'That woman is a lot scarier than Kushina' a chill ran down his spine. He sighs massaging his temple, 'and if I'm not mistaken that child earlier, wasn't that the Kazekage's youngest son, he slumps in his chair, I'm not looking forward to the aftermath or the Kage summon he know is gonna take place soon.'
A minute later.
'Wait, why didn't anyone appear at her presence?'
