In Otherworld:

"THAT MONSTER! Did you SEE what he did to Chi-Chi?" Yamcha shouted.

"And even worse! Turles lied about it to Gohan. Now Gohan really believes that Turles actually helped her!" Krillin added.

"That Saiyan scum was the cause of Chi-Chi being injured!" Piccolo fumed.

"I don't like what Turles is doing either! But what are we going to do about it from here?" Goku shot back.

The Earth-raised Saiyan's fists were balled up in fury as he'd been forced to watch helplessly as the heartless space pirate purposely harmed Chi-Chi.

"You've got to try to reach Gohan, tell him what Turles has been doing!" Tien suggested.

"I've tried to reach Gohan. He keeps blocking me!" Goku huffed in frustration.

'Turles has a greater hold over Gohan than Goku and the others realize, " King Kai sighed.

The portly North Kai shook his head. Things were not going to end well he could just feel it.

...

"I'm going to the food prep area if that's okay, " an irritated Bulma declared.

"Fine, Master Turles doesn't view you as a threat in that area. Of course, if someone were to CONSUME something YOU prepared THEN it would be a life-threatening situation!" Kalanaz needled.

A scarlet faced Bulma stomped out the lab with the Kabochan female's laughter ringing in her ears.

The young scientist was about to blurt out what she had to endure under Turles' control when she noticed the haunted look in Chi-Chi's eyes.

"Chi-Chi, what it is it? What happened?"

Bulma was both horrified and livid when Chi-Chi related what had transpired when she tried to substitute a healthier option than the meal Turles had demanded.

"You have to tell Gohan the truth..."

"And how will he take the fact that I lied to him? Will he believe anything I say after that?"

"You had to lie to protect yourself! Gohan knows enough about Turles to realize that!" the former heiress declared.

"I can't take the risk, Bulma. Turles is fully aware I can't and that's why he was so smug about it!" Chi-Chi snarled.

Before Bulma could respond Daiz entered the room. The pirate crewman completely ignored her presence and walked over to Chi-Chi.

"Ma'am, Master Turles insists you prepare him a Goulada cake immediately!"

Chi-Chi groaned inwardly as she wished she'd never brought up the subject of the time -consuming confection.

"Of course!" the brunette replied wearily.

"He will expect it delivered to the bridge shortly, Ma'am, " and with that Daiz turned on his heel and left the room.

"Hmmph! He acted like I don't even exist!" Bulma snorted.

"Can you really blame him, Bulma?" the Ox-princess queried as she began to gather the dozens of spices required for the Saiyan's anticipated treat.

"WHAT?! Are you on their side now?" a stunned Bulma replied.

"No! Of course not! But you did almost have him executed. You can't expect him to take that lightly."

"I guess I'M responsible for the crimes he committed to be up for being executed too?" the bluenette fumed.

Chi-Chi shook her head, " I'm certainly not saying that! Like it or not we're stuck here for now. Turles would love for us to be at each other's throats so don't be surprised if he tries to set us up against each other. We just have to be careful not to set one of them against us hard as that may be."

"You have no idea!" Bulma groaned.

...

Turles and his crew were making a habit of consuming more meals aboard his ship than frequenting the posh establishments that were their requisite fare. Was it just to torture her or were things getting a little too risky for even the arrogant Saiyan to parade about with his usual penchant for extravagance? He'd surely face a reckoning some day she was sure of that. Sooner than later, Chi-Chi hoped!

Even Bulma had noticed that Turles spent less time galivanting about spending his ill-gotten gains on extravagant feasts. The hated space buccaneer was plotting something.

...

Chi-Chi picked at the food on the plate before her. The food was utterly scrumptious, but she felt badly for Bulma who was left behind on Turles' ship with that overfed oaf. No doubt Bulma's afternoon meal would be nowhere near the fare the pirate commander had ordered at yet another expensive eatery of his choice.

"You'd best not anger Turles by wasting the food, Ma'am, " Daiz advised.

With a sigh of resignation Goku's widow forced herself to take a few bites. Before she could stop herself, she'd literally scraped her plate clean. Chi-Chi could feel her face flush as the Saiyan smirked at her. It wasn't her fault that the food had literally been culinary heaven on a plate!

A reptilian alien had joined Turles and his crew at the table earlier. It was apparent that there was a disagreement between the brigand and the blue lizard being as the conversation between the two became heated even though the Ox-Princess couldn't comprehend a word of the language they spoke.

Chi-Chi studied the room around her to avoid paying attention to the increasing tension that was building at the table. Highly polished panels of exotic woods in varying colors lined the walls. Glossy red and black tiles covered the floor. The tables and chairs had been carved out of chunks of gray marble with pinkish veining by a master sculptor. Unadorned windows were scattered about but they reached from the ceiling to the floor.

The mother of Goku flinched as a fist slammed into the table. Muttering under his breath, the blue reptilian stomped from the table. Chi-Chi gasped inwardly as she caught sight of Turles making a gesture with his right hand. There was no mistaking the meaning of his black gauntleted hand making a pass under his chin. Kalanaz nodded and rose from her seat heading swiftly to the exit. Turles had just silently ordered the Kabochan female to murder the unfortunate blue alien...

...

The strange meat that Turles brought in and insisted she prepare for the evening meal reminded her of something Chi-Chi just couldn't place. Oh well, she'd remember it eventually...

...

Bulma scowled at the plate in front of her. Since the incident that had allowed her and Chi-Chi to temporarily escape Turles' clutches; they were forced to take their meals alongside the obnoxious pirate and his crew. 'To keep them out of mischief' according to Turles.

However delightful Chi-Chi's culinary skills were, it was difficult to enjoy eating with the Saiyan's mocking glance. How Bulma wished she could just shove the contents of her plate into his face!

Chi-Chi took another bite of the tender meat she'd prepared. Suddenly a horrific thought entered her mind...

The eating utensil fell from Chi-Chi's hand as she looked down in revulsion at her plate and across the table at the platter piled high with blue meat!

"Is something amiss?" Turles barked.

"C-Commander, w-what happened to that blue fellow that was at the restaurant this afternoon?" the brunette choked out.

Turles gave a sheepish look as he looked from the platter of meat to Chi-Chi and back again. Then he shrugged his shoulders and replied, " Well we Saiyans DO hate to WASTE a fresh kill..."

Chi-Chi had related the incident to Bulma and both of the former denizens of Earth stared at Turles in horror and disgust.

Gartoas shrugged and reached over to pile more meat on his plate, "Wha' evr' least e' tastes good!"

Bulma looked pale, Chi-Chi covered her mouth as she felt her stomach lurch. She had cooked and even EATEN part of that poor murdered alien?!

Turles burst into laughter at their stricken faces.

"Tracorian cattle are typically this hue. Rest assured I don't dine on Byzician filth. However the looks on your faces were priceless!" the pirate commander chortled.

Kalanaz and Gartoas snickered, Daiz rolled his eyes. Turles never missed an opportunity to unsettle the two Earth females...
