Season 4 Chapter 5: Thunder Emperor's Improvement

It wasn't long when word has it that a duelist named World Traveler has apparently used Playmaker's card to defeat Blue Angel. The card that was apparently used was Accesscode Talker.

Everyone who had witnessed the duel had their own reactions when Blue Angel had accused him for being involved with the missing Playmaker. And because of that, posts around Link Vrains had spread like wildfire.

"Did this guy steal Playmaker's new card?"

"World Traveller might be Playmaker is disguise. He became a Charisma Duelist"

"He's just another nobody. That card of his must be rare."

"Oi, this guy just beat Blue Angel. Who could have done that other than Playmaker or Go?"

Sota sighed. He doesn't believe that Akechi got Accesscode Talker by stealing cards. If anything, he just got lucky that it's a very powerful card that happened to have the same archetype as Playmaker's. Akechi probably has no clue as to that card aside from him collecting cards for their very own duel.

However, others disagree with it.

From the other side of Link Vrains, Playmaker's ally, unnamed, had not seen Playmaker for months. Before they had seperated ways, Playmaker had revealed to him his own Ignis's true motives.

When he heard about it, he was apologetic. Being the last of its kind to face his own guilt for failing to save those he even considered his own family. And then having being fortold that the world would end because of its very own existance to having to lose another friend of his. All the blame had to be on him for that to a point that it gave up on its own life just to prevent all that from happening.

In short, it didn't care what happened, all he cared was to die.

And now, after a few months, he has received word of a certain someone who has Playmaker's card: Accesscode Talker. It's impossible. He had checked through the duel and it appeared to be true. Someone named World Traveller has in the possession of Accesscode.

Accesscode Talker was the very card that he and Playmaker had made in order to stop with Ai's plans. And to end up in the hands of someone unknown, he cannot let it stand. He must get information regarding his ally's whereabouts. Luckily for him, he had received a message from Revolver to meet him in Link Vrains. He had contemplated about having to meet up with the Knights of Hanoi. Remembering the times he had allied with them to take down the Light Ignis and then the resolution of Soulburner's duel against Revolver, he had accepted to meet them. And here is where he is now, waiting at a rooftop of the building.

"I hope I didn't keep you waiting." A barrier formed around unnamed. Unnamed turns around to see a very familar figure.

"This program prevents anyone from the outside to eavesdrop on us." The figure in white explained.

"Revolver!"

"And you must be Playmaker's ally from the outside, Shoichi Kusanagi. I have anticipated what you might ask of me, Playmaker's whereabouts." Revolver had noted.

"Yes, and you must have heard of this person who had Accesscode Talker, belonging to Playmaker. He is World Traveller."

"I am aware. And if you want our help, you must agree to hold up on your end."

"And what exactly do you need from me?"

"...We had received word that a lost incident victim, namely Miyu Sugisaki, had been reported to have 'vanished into thin air'. While this is not of our concern, one of our knights, Specter, had vanished from us too. And then, word has come to talk about Playmaker's disappearance from the world. While this might be coincidental, we suspect that someone is aiming to capture all of the Lost Incident Victims from 10 years ago."

"And you are concerned because my brother might be their next target.

"Yes exactly. If their aim is to restore the Ignis, then it is our duty to stop them. The Light Ignis have threatened to eliminate humanity, one that we should not overlook. The Dark Ignis had gone rogue and had even taken over Sol Technologies. Fortunately, it seems that Playmaker had eliminated the Dark Ignis for us."

"...You know very well that those simulations had revealed that the cause of the fall between humans and Ignis was the Lightning. But for Ai... he did all of this so that he could eliminate himself, all because he believed that he couldn't coexist with us..."

"Even if you think otherwise, then tell me this, do you want your brother to go through with the same incident again 10 years ago?" Unnamed gritted. While he wouldn't mind the Ignis being revived, he does not accept what would have to happen.

"Going back to the topic, there is a possibility that World Traveller might be the cause behind the recent disappearance of a few of the Lost Incident Victims. We believe that the card: Accesscode Talker belonged to Playmaker unless you wish to indicate that the card never belonged to him" Silence came from unnamed. Revolver took the silence as an confirmation.

"...If Jin Kusanagi is still around, keep an eye on him and warn Soulburner. We in the meantime shall investigate on World Traveller. With you confirming that Accesscode Talker belonging to Playmaker, we suspect that World Traveller has a hand in Playmaker's disappearance."

"...How about Blue Maiden? Blue Maiden is close to Sugisaki. She would want to know about all of this too."

"She may be allowed to know of this information. However, never ever involve Akira Zaizen into this. SOL Technologies is one of our suspects." As Revolver was about to deactivate the barrier, Unnamed continued the conversation.

"...Before Playmaker left, he had a disturbing feeling that he couldn't say it in words. He didn't know where it came from but he explained that if this doesn't stop, Link Vrains will be destroyed and humanity shall be reverted to before Information Age."

"I see, then Playmaker either was right on this threat or has fallen into a trap." Revolver and Unnamed disappeared into particles, logging out.

Another School day has been over.

Sota had already wondered how would he be able to win his next duel against Akechi. He has yet to play his true ace against him. And he doesn't even know what is that card. And worse, he's likely to use Accesscode Talker again. Even though Accesscode would be unable to destroy his ace monster from it's effect, Accesscode could easily do so in battle. While Colossus is able to stall him through survival and restricting card draws, it's not enough to win him the duel. And not mention that he claims running the entire World Legacy deck, not just World Chalice. Akechi proved that by playing Knightmares into his World Chalice deck. This could only mean that he has an overall of 7 decks which he could simply use a deck that would counter his.

In short, if he doesn't improve his deck, he is likely to lose his next duel against his rival.

If Akechi had found his World Legacy deck from Link Vrains, then he should find cards that can help him improve his deck. So he searched around the internet to search for any cards that could help support his deck. It was then he saw a Fusion deck that has very powerful Fusion support cards. While that deck is nothing special, it had Fusion Support cards that can help with his deck.

Determining that these cards are very useful for his deck, Sota sets his Duel Disk. It's time to collect these cards.

"Into the Vrains" Sota declares.

His blue hair turned yellow. A green coat appeared which he wears with it. His pants turned into green too as his eyes changes his colour from black to grey. A purple pendant that looked remarkably similar to Polymerization appeared on his neck. In here, he is no longer Sota but Thunder Emperor.

When he had logged in, he finds himself in the cave. He then received a note that appeared which manifested itself on his hand. The note was a map of sorts to locate him towards the deck. So he had followed the directions as indicated to the map.

At the end of the journey, there was a sarcophagus that awaited Thunder Emperor to get. But not without a test. Yes, a test that determines a duelist's skill to receive the deck. A figure appeared, revealing itself to be a simulation in a form of a duelist. It activated it's duel disk as it readied itself. Noticing it, Thunder Emperor had done the same.

"The challenger shall take the first turn." The simulation has declared.

"Alright, then I'll accept the first turn. Master Duel!" Thunder Emperor declared.

Thunder Emperor vs Simulation

Turn 1: Thunder Emperor

"I activate the effect of Thunder Dragon to discard itself to add another copy of it to my hand. Then I'll use this effect again, adding the third copy to my hand. I normal summon Thunder Dragonmatrix (0/2000)." A spherical monster was summoned into the field.

"This next monster I am summoning can be Special Summoned from the Extra Deck by tributing a Thunder Monster on the field if I activated a Thunder Monster effect from the hand this turn. I tribute Dragonmatrix. Transformation Contact Fusion! Come forth! Level 8! Thunder Dragon Colossus (2600/2400)!" Thunder Emperor's duel disk leaked a purple energy that flowed within his body, turning his clothing into purple as he raised his hand above. Soon, Dragonmatrix broke apart, hatching itself into Colossus.

"I activate the effect of Dragonmatrix that is sent from the field to GY, adding another copy to my hand. I activate Thunder Dragon Fusion, I can fusion summon a Thunder Monster by shuffling the fusion materials from field, GY and/or Banish zone. I shuffle 2 Thunder Dragons and Dragonmatrix from my GY! Heavenly Dragons of the Sky, join together and become the ultimate dragon of destruction! Fusion Summon! Level 10! Thunder Dragon Titan (3200/3200)!" Thunder Emperor's ace is summoned. As his monster is summoned, Thunder Emperor gained a purple aura as his eyes turned pink.

"I activate the effect of Thunder Dragon from my hand twice more, adding the last copy to my hand while the other 2 is sent to the grave. I end my turn." As he declared, his eyes returned to grey and he loses his aura.

Turn 2: Simulation

"Draw. Predaplant Ophrys Scorpio (1200/800) is normal summoned. On summon Ophrys Scorpio's effect activates, discarding Predaplant Byblisp from hand to GY to Special Summon Predaplant Darlingtonia Cobra (1000/1500) from own deck. The effect of Byblisp and Darlingtonia Cobra activates, with Byblisp adding a predaplant monster to hand while Darlingtonia Cobra adds a Fusion card to hand." The Simulation processes to add 2 cards from his deck to hand. However...

"Thunder's restriction!" Thunder Emperor declared. Colossus roared as sparks around it starts to shoot towards the Simulation's deck. The confused simulation displayed an exclaimation mark.

"Error detected. To continue the duel, input the missing effect to resolve"

"With the effect of Colossus, you are not allowed to add cards to your hand aside from drawing it." Thunder Emperor explained. The exclaimation mark is replaced with a tick, stopping the process to add cards to his hand as it continues.

"The next move is a Link Summon. Summoning conditions are 2 effect monsters. Ophrys Scorpio and Darlinton Cobra is placed into the Link Marker. Link Summon. Link 2! Predaplant Verte Anaconda (500). Verte's effect activates, once per turn, I target a monster on the field to change it's attribute to dark. Thunder Dragon Titan's attribute is changed to Dark attribute. Verte's second effect activates, pays 2000 LP to send Super Polymerization from deck to GY and then apply it's effect. With the effect of Super Polymerization, Titan, Colossus and verte is used as a Fusion Material. Summoning conditions are 3 Dark Monsters on the field. Fusion Summon, level 9, Predaplant Triphyoverutum (3000/3000)." The three headed plant dragon was summoned to the field. From Thunder Emperor's research, he knew that Predaplant deck is quite infamous for it's fusion summon power. This is what he came here for, to collect cards such as Verte. If he has Verte, he could send his Fusion to the grave to Fusion Summon Titan easier and to start his one per turn loop of resummoning Titan.

"Triphyoverutum attacks you directly." (Thunder Emperor 4000 - 1000).

"Set 3 cards. End turn."

Turn 3: Thunder Emperor

"My turn, draw! I activate Fusion from my GY, banishing it to add Thunder Dragonroar from my deck to hand. Then I discard it to activate it's effect, adding the banished Fusion back to my hand. I activate Fusion, shuffling Dragonroar, Colossus and Titan from GY to Fusion Summon Titan!" He revives his ace back again. Thunder Emperor's purple aura returned stronger.

"Activate Triphyoverutum's effect. Thunder Dragon Titan's summon is negated and destroyed." Just as Titan was being summoned from a fusion portal, Triphyoverutum catches Titan off-guard by grabbing the later with it's claws. Soon, the plant dragon devours Titan.

"Then I normal summon Dragonmatrix. Transformation Contact Fusion! Thunder Dragon Colossus!" He summons Colossus back in defense position. He knows he can't counterattack this turn since Titan's summon is negated.

"Dragonmatrix's effect, I add the last copy to my hand. I activate Dimensional Fissure and set a card. I end my turn."

Turn 4: Simulation

"Draw. Triphyoverutum attacks Colossus."

"I banish Thunder Dragon from my GY to negate Colossus's destruction." Colossus roared as a spirit of Thunder Dragon appears to block Triphyoverutum's attack.

"Discard a card, activate set card: Super Polymerization. You cannot activate card effects in response to this card's activation. Summon conditions are 2 DARK monsters on the field. Fusing Colossus and Triphyoverutum. Fusion Summon! Level 8! Starving Venom Fusion Dragon."

"... That's it! That's what I want to see! Verte, Super Polymerization and now Starving Venom Fusion Dragon...! And with that Super Polymerization, I can easily remove my opponent's monsters for an easy to summon dragon. Show me what you got!"

"Starving Venom Fusion Dragon attacks directly!" Starving Venom using one of it's venom like mouths towards Thunder Emperor

"I won't lose that easily! I activate Thunder Dragon Discharge! I banish Dragonroar from my deck to destroy your set card." A set card from Simulation's field is destroyed. "Dragonroar's effect activates when banished, summoning Thunder Dragondark (1600/1500) from the field in defence position."

"Replay phase: Starving Venom attacks Dragondark." Starving Venom opened it's root-like wings as projectiles forms within it and blasts at Dragondark.

"Dragondark's effect when banished, I add Fusion from my deck to hand!"

"End turn"

Turn 5: Thunder Emperor

"It's time to collect your deck, Draw!" Thunder Emperor draws as he turned into a purple silhouette for a moment.

"I activate Fusion, shuffling Dragonroar from my GY, Colossus and Dragonroar from banished zone to Fusion Summon Titan. Then I activate Discharge's effect, banishing Dragondark from deck to destroy another of your set card. The banished Dragondark's effect, I add Thunder Dragonhawk to hand, then I activate Dragonhawk's effect and chain with Titan's effect. With titan, Starving Venom is destroyed. With Dragonhawk, I summon Dragondark from banished zone. Heavenly Thunder's Punishment!" Thunder Dragon Titan shoots a ball of energy at Starving Venom, destroying it.

"Starving Venom's effect, all of your special summoned monsters are destroyed." Starving Venom disintegrated itself into a puddle of venom. Soon, it starts to shoot towards all of Thunder Emperor's monsters.

"I banish Thunder Dragon and Dragonmatrix to negate Titan's destruction" Thunder Dragondark roars as the puddle of venom blasts it's laser, destroying the monster. However, Titan remained on the field after the effect resolves

"This monster can be Special Summoned from my hand by banishing a level 8 or lower Thunder monster from my hand or field as long as I activated a Thunder monster effect from hand this turn. I banish the Level 8 Thunder Dragonduo from my hand. Level 9! Thunder Dragonlord (3000/3000)!" Clouds gathered as a blot of lightning striked into the ground. Thunder Emperor's new monster emerges as it roars.

"This is over, Dragonlord and Titan attacks you directly! Triple Thunder Burst!" Dragonlord surrounds the Simulation as Titan charges three bolts of energy with it's heads. Soon, Dragonlord traps the Simaulation as Titan shoots towards the Simulation, destroying the Simulation. (Simulation: 4000 - 0)

Thunder Emperor wins!

Thunder Emperor raised his hand towards the sarcophagus. The sarcophagus opened itself and in it contained the very deck that he had been looking for. Soon, a window opened for Thunder Emperor as he looked through the decklist that he had just obtained from the duel.

He had just received the Predaplant deck.

Sastisfied, he closed the window as the sarcophagus vanished into particles. The deck in it turned into an orb as it enters inside him. Confirming that he had collected the deck, he logged out. With the Predaplant deck he has owned, he can improve his Thunder Dragon deck

Custom Cards:
Thunder Emperor:
Thunder Dragon Discharge (Adjusted) (Continous Trap):
The activation of your Thunder monsters' effects cannot be negated. Once per turn, You can target 1 Spell/Trap on the field; banish 1 Thunder monster from your Deck, and if you do, destroy that target. (A/N: The only reason why I removed the activation condition for it's second effect is because I kept forgetting about it. So I just removed it to make writing easier)

Simulation:
Predaplant Verte Annaconda (Adjusted) (Link 2, Dark, Link 2, Down-left, Down-Right)
2 Effect Monsters
(This card can used outside of a duel.)
You can target 1 face-up monster on the field; it becomes DARK until the end of this turn. You can pay 2000 LP and send 1 "Fusion" or "Polymerization" Normal or Quick-Play Spell from your Deck to the GY; this effect becomes that Spell's effect when that card is activated, also, you cannot Special Summon monsters for the rest of this turn. You can only use each effect of "Predaplant Verte Anaconda" once per turn.

A/N: Honestly, drafting this chapter has got to be the least exciting chapter I've ever written so far because said Simulation serves as a filler and it was a one sided victory. The only comeback the Simulation had was simply Super Polymerization. But this is rather important to progress the plot. Regardless, I'll try to make duels more exciting next time... hopefully the next chapter will.

There was an extra scene after Thunder Emperor logging out of Link Vrains, but it was removed because it was a walking spoiler. Also, it had nothing to do with him. But that extra scene helped me to draft some characters that I wanted to make in future for this fic.
