Chapter 30: Return

Now that the weight had been lifted, Hikari felt the dawn of a new day. She truly was the daughter of Sora and Kari...It was not her fault that the spirit had been rejected by this body. Yet Hikari was sure the spirit would cause much more havoc just to get something it could never possess. How then, how could she stop the entity's rampage? What could truly stop its reign of terror?

"Shin…" the only person who could possibly answer her question was him. The kami turned to her. "What...What do I do? I...Don't know how to defeat the entity…"

He paused. Hikari had grown much through this journey. Now that she has finally accepted her lineage as a child of light, more doubts began to emerge. A child of light would never think of harming another unless it was absolutely necessary...But...To completely destroy an enemy to a point where they are gone forever...That was utterly impossible for them to even imagine.

"Search your heart, Hikari." He told her. "When the time comes, you will know what to do."

It seemed all was well with this particular world yet the Keyblade of this world was still unknown. Such a weapon needed to be found before thoughts of defeating the enemy could occur.

Such a task would have to wait, for a shrill cry from the hallway signified darkness had entered the palace.

The trio rushed into the hallway, noticed the madness that had overtaken everything. In droves people fled, all going in one direction.

"The throne room! Guards to the throne room!" Someone shouted. It was all the three friends needed. They pushed through the throng of soldiers and fleeing people, rushing into the throne room ready for anything.

An immense form completely dwarfed their view...A hideous beast that towered over all. It was practically dripping with malicious cruel intent.

"So Pharaoh," The bellowed voice was laced with dark intentions, "be prepared to suffer!"

"You'll have to get through me first!" Hikari shouted.

The being turned its attention to the trio. Bellowing laughter filled the room.

"You cannot be serious...A little girl and two idiots? The palace must really be stressed for guards…" A huge grin. "Oh...You must be from the harem…Is the mighty Pharaoh so weak that he allows his woman to fight his battles? And these two… What are they some servants?"

"My name is Hikari...I am the daughter of the Keyblade wielder named Sora and the Princess of Heart known as Kairi…" The Keyblade revealed itself. "I am a child of light...and you...You are DONE!"

The fight lasted mere seconds for the three were synced. Shin grabbed Hikari and the two were in the air while Max distracted the beast. Hikari stabbed the creature in the back, its howls reverberating off the walls. It disappeared in lights that were drawn into a form below...A man with tanned skin and white hair. Threat vanquished the Keyblade disappeared.

"Fantastic power!" Well...The threat ALMOST disappeared. The white haired man rose from his feet, and grinning at Hikari he said, "I think I shall like to have that power…"

Hikari didn't even need to personally know the man...it was obvious he was an evil incarnate.

"The Keyblade chooses its owner…" Shin blocked the man's path immediately. "Someone like you will never be chosen...of this I am certain…"

The white haired man cackled. "We shall see…"

Shin frowned. "No...We will not…"

"And who are you to deny me?" The white haired man was pushing a thin line.

"He's a god." Even Max was tired of the man's attitude. Hikari raised an eyebrow at Max who shrugged. "What? It's true!"

Another bout of laughter from the man. It was obvious he did not believe the words. Seconds later he was thrown to the floor, an unknown force pushing him down.

"I think...You need to leave…" Shin's glowing eyes gave a warning the man heeded. He was gone in a flash, rushing out the door.

It was then the Pharaoh approached.

"Thank you." He stated.

"This is not over…" Shin told him. "We cannot interfere any more."

"I understand…" He nodded. "Might I see the child of light?"

Hikari approached and the Pharaoh smiled.

"I see you have come to terms with who you are…" He said.

"Yeah...And I've got you to thank for that…" She looked at Shin. "Is there nothing else we can do?"

"This is the past." The Pharaoh's words caused all three travelers to look at him. He gave a chuckle. "It is a rather long story...But...I know...You did not come from this time period...You see…" He gazed around. "These are my memories...And you three have somehow gotten here by mistake…You should return to the time you are from."

"Yeah...Um…" Max spoke up. "We kind of don't know how to get back...Or even how we got here in the first place…"

The Pharaoh touched a strange golden object hanging around his neck. It resembled a reversed pyramid with a strange eye at its center.

"I have a feeling you were brought here for different reasons other than fighting my battles...I am sure the same magic that brought you here, will certainly take you home…"

Just as he said that a powerful light shone from his item, filling the room with its pure white glow. Hikari and grew covered their eyes. When the light was gone, it was revealed they were no longer in the palace...They were instead in the middle of a desert.

"Over there!" Max shouted and the trio discovered a group of people in modern day clothing heading into some sort of cave.

At least they knew one thing...They were in the present of this realm...And their journey here…was far from over.
