Volume 4 Chapter 16: Inside the Wily Star (Part 1 of 4)
"Congratulations everyone, we made it inside, amazing job." Penny cheered, as the group had all returned into the Atlas Mark 1 after the ship had flown into the Wily Star, where they were met with the group who had stayed inside to man the turrets.
"Yeah, that was some fine flying you guys did." Roll added.
"Hey it was nothing, but I'm sure that some of us could take this as a learning experience." Replied Sun.
"Oh come on, I was trying to hit the incoming ships. I didn't mean to hit you guys." Ruby whined.
"We know Ruby, just be more careful next time." Weiss added.
"Speaking off being careful, there are a lot of dents in the ship, so Ironwood's probably going to kill us." Said Rock, as he had finished looking through the windows to check on possible damage.
"I mean, the ship still functions, maybe it won't be so bad. I'm sure we can still go back to Remnant even with these damages." Said Jaune.
"Besides, we can still buff those dents out, add a bit of a paint job to it and it will be as good as new. As if it didn't happen." Said Yang, to which Rock shot her a questioning look. "Trust me, I've done it plenty of times."
"Wait, is that why the car sometimes smelled like it had a fresh paint job?" Asked Ruby.
"I will neither confirm nor deny that." Replied Yang.
"Yang!" Ruby whined.
"Alright Ruby, if you promise to keep quiet about this to dad I'll give you a months worth of chocolate chip cookies."
"Make it two months, and we have deal."
"I can work with that."
"What? No... Yang you can't, she's already hyper enough as is with the normal batch of cookies she eats!" Exclaimed Weiss.
"Don't worry, it will be fine."
"That's what you always say." Weiss shot back.
"Uhm, guys, I don't mean to interrupt anything. But the ships being surrounded." Said Velvet, making everyone quickly look out of the window as they saw that a platoon consisting of Sniper Joe's, Biribaree's and Piriparee's had the ship surrounded.
The leader of the platoon, which was a much larger Sniper Joe with a large arm canon, stepped forward and through a megaphone said "Attention passengers of this ship, come out with your hands up, if you don't you will be treated as hostile."
"Crud, what do we do?" Asked Neptune.
"I might have an idea." Said Rock, as he opened up a hatch that revealed a bunch of Atlas Military solider uniforms.
"Rock, you're not suggesting we wear these to blend in are you?" Asked Weiss.
"Yeah, kinda. I don't see any way this could work, or do you have a better idea?" Replied Rock.
"No, just had some doubts about this." Replied Weiss.
"I can see this work, I mean the uniforms do look similar to robots outside. I'm sure we can fool them." Said Yang.
"Very well then, if you say so. Also, if this works I'll make all of us dinner tonight." Said Weiss.
"You will?" Asked Blake.
"Yeah, cause this group may have some silly ideas. But they do tend to work." Replied Weiss.
"Right, I'm sure that will go just as well as the time you nearly burned down the common room's kitchen with your baking." Replied Cardin, to which Weiss scoffed.
"That was one time, and I've gotten better since then." Replied Weiss.
"'Kay, ignoring the obvious, let's put these on then." Said Rock, as the group started to put the uniforms on and a few minutes later they all exited the space craft with all of them wearing the Atlesian Military uniforms. And as they met the platoon, Rock said "Hold your fire, we come in peace."
"Identity yourself." Demanded the the leader.
"We're exploration group 2, we were supposed to check the outside of Wilytopia for any incoming hostiles. We're here to rapport back to our esteemed leader, the great Doctor Wily." Rock lied.
"Is that so, then what was that explosion earlier?" Asked the leader.
"Just some of the meteors from the outside squad that crashed into each other, they were never the brightest." Said Penny, as she let out a hiccup due to the lie.
"What was that?" Asked the leader.
"Just a defect that will get checked out soon." Said Weiss.
"Very well then, everything seems in order. There is just one question however, why does that Sniper Joe look shorter than the rest of you? What's his model number?" Asked the leader, referring to Oran.
"Oh, sniper joe model 1518114? He was defective during production, but our great and esteemed leader didn't want to throw him out." Replied Ruby, as sweat began to break out, hoping they had bought it, as the leader gave her a suspicious look but that quickly faded, allowing Ruby to breathe a sigh of relief.
"Very well then, I see nothing suspicious about this. You may continue to briefing room, you remember where it was right?" Asked the leader.
"We do, just follow the signs that say briefing room and we should find it, right?" Asked Yang.
"Oh right, I forgot we had those." Said the leader, making Yang let out a fake gasp.
"You forgot, and here you are questioning us. What's your model number?" Asked Yang, making the rest of the group motion to her to stop before she brings them into any further trouble.
"It's 5251977, but apologies for questioning you all. You may proceed." Said the leader, after which he and the rest of the platoon created an opening the allowed the rest of the disguised group to move forward. Only for the platoon to quickly surround them as they got into the middle, as the leader said "Is what I would say, if I wasn't onto you guys from the start, nice try Mega Man."
"But, how did you know?" Asked Rock.
"Well for one, I'm not stupid. I knew you were enemy forces. And secondly, model number 1518114 is currently being scheduled for maintenance check, which we would know because we're all connected to the main database." Replied the leader.
"In that case, I guess subtlety is getting thrown out of the window." Said Rock, as he and the rest of the group threw off their atlas military uniforms and aimed their weapons at the platoon. As Nora switched to the top spin, and began to spin around rapidly, hitting the shields of the Sniper Joe's hard enough that it knocked them out of their hands, making them all rush frantically towards picking them up from the ground.
Giving the rest of the group an opening to begin taking out the robots, as Fox rushed in and launched the rolling cutter from his arm blades to slice the nearest Sniper Joe's to pieces. While Penny flew into the towards the robots, and while infusing her blades with the fire storm, she cut straight through the robots. Cardin meanwhile slammed his mace into the ground to have a wave of icicles go across the ground and have a good portion of the robots get stuck in ice and unable to move.
A collection of attacks were then shot out, as Neptune used the bubble lead, Velvet shot out a thunder beam, Pyrrha launched some magnet missiles, Sun fired homing missiles from his staff, Yatsuhashi fired a scorch wheel, Ren threw out a hyper bomb, Ruby shot a scramble thunder and Roll fired the crystal eye at the frozen over robots. All the shot out weapons hit their intended target, completely shattering the robots to pieces.
While those attacks were being launched, Weiss had infused her gravity dust into her glyphs and launched another part of the platoon, which this time consisted of not just sniper joe's but also Biribaree's and Piriparee's into the air while unleashing the tundra storm on them, which stunned them in place, while Yang delivered a fiery uppercut through the use of the blazing torch, while Blake cut straight through them with the blades of Gambol Shroud coated in the acid of the acid barrier.
With the platoon getting smaller and smaller by the second, Coco was left facing a small platoon of Biribaree's and Piriparee's, so she started to shoot at them hoping they would be shot to pieces. But, when the smoke cleared, she saw that the robots didn't even have a single scratch on them. And that instead they were about to fire a bolt of electricity at Coco, which she didn't have time to dodge. She was about to brace herself for the impact of the electric attack, when she found herself getting pulled out of the way by Oran having fired a sticky arrow at her that was attached to a rope and managed to pull her out of the way.
She gave a quick thankful nod towards him, then switched to the spread drill and fired several of them at the robots. Which drilled straight through them, destroying them and leaving only the ring leader behind. Who quickly aimed his massive arm cannon at the group, pressed a button that made it bigger, and began to charge his buster. Which only Neptune saw, as he quickly fired several bubble leads at the robot, which upon hitting the robot began to melt it as the charge from his buster stopped.
But while he was melting, the ringleader chuckled and said "Fools, none of you will leave this place alive. Count on it..." after which, what remained of him was blown to pieces by Yang shooting the chain blast at him.
"Well, that takes care of that." Said Yang, as she dusted off her hands.
"Rock, what are these bubbles made off?" Asked Neptune, feeling uncertain about what just happened.
"Oh the bubble lead, it's sulphuric acid." Replied Rock.
"IT"S WHAT!" Exclaimed Weiss, as she grabbed Rock and began to shake him "How could you not tell us that?"
"Calm down, it's not that bad." Said Rock.
"Probably might have been for the best if you told them ahead of time." Said Roll.
"Yeah, good point." Replied Rock.
"Not that bad, not that bad..." Weiss exclaimed, as she pinched the bridge of her nose in annoyance "...Rock, weren't you worried that we were going to fall into the acid pools of the area Acid Man was located in?"
"I was, yes. However, and I know where you are going with this, this isn't so bad. Because for one, it's just one bubble compared to an entire pool of acid that would melt you to the bone the moment you fall in. And secondly, most of you are walking around with what could be compared to an army's depot worth of explosives. Besides, as long as Neptune is careful we won't be in any danger."
"Yeah about that, I kind of have two left feet." Replied Neptune.
"Your dancing wasn't that bad during the school dance earlier this year." Said Yang.
"No, I mean in terms of handling my weapon. I have accidentally shot my teammates so many times, it's not even funny."
"I can attest to that, one of us always needs to make sure Neptune takes proper aim with his weapon. Heck, when Beacon was attacked while you guys were missing he accidentally shot Scarlet out of the sky." Said Sun.
"Oh that's right, I had completely forgotten about you guys telling me that when we came back." Said Blake.
"If that's the case, then I guess this will be the best time to learn." Said Coco, with a small smirk on her face.
"Coco no." Said Fox,
"Coco Yes." Replied Coco, as her eyes were glowing with excitement.
Ignoring what Coco had said, Neptune turned to Rock and asked "Can't I just switch my weapon with someone, like something that's less likely to hurt my friends."
"Sure you can, would you like to switch to a deadly explosive, or a bladed weapon that could stab someone if you were to misfire, or how about an elemental weapon. I'm sure that nothing could go wrong with that." Replied Nora sarcastically.
"I get it Nora, all the weapons can be dangerous." Said Neptune.
"Rock could give you his black hole bomb if you wanted, I'm sure that you misfiring that thing in here won't have any consequences." Yang added.
Neptune simply gave Nora and Yang a deadpanned stare, and replied "Are you two done?"
"Only if you're done wussing out." Replied Nora.
"You know what, I'll just keep the bubble lead and we pretend I didn't say anything." Said Neptune, ignoring the last comment.
"Good call." Said Yang, as metallic footsteps were then heard coming towards them from one of the hallways that led to this open. The group quickly turned towards the source of the footsteps, and saw that Sword Man had entered the room.
"Greeting Mega Man, it would appear that we meet again." Said Sword Man.
"Sword Man, I'm surprised to see you here." Said Rock.
"Wily wanted some heavy hitters on the Wily Star, which is why I'm afraid that I can't let you pass." Said Sword Man, as he plunged his sword firmly into the ground.
"Woah... big sword." Said Oran.
"Hey buddy, compensating for something?" Asked Yang, as Ruby was quick to cover Oran's ears as she had a feeling where this was going.
"Yang, don't be weird, he's a robot. They don't even have genitals." Said Weiss.
"Then why does Penny have boobs? And also, I'm fairy certain that I've heard Rock use the bathroom." Said Yang.
"Well, I have to get rid of my excess liquids somehow." Replied Rock.
"I was just build this way." Replied Penny, with a hint of innocence in their voice.
"Uhm, excuse me, ladies. I believe that you're losing focus on what is important, so let me start again. Greetings, I'm Sword Man and Wily placed me here to stop you from getting further." Said Sword Man.
"Rock?" Ruby asked, as she took her hands off of Oran's ears "What was he made for?"
"No need to ask him, I would have gladly answered your question. Wily build me to hold onto a sword he had stolen from a museum." Replied Sword Man.
"Ah, an over glorified coatrack, makes sense." Said Coco.
"Regardless of what I am, I won't allow any of you to continue beyond this point." Replied Sword Man.
Cardin smirked at that and said "Buddy, you're severely outnumbered here. We'll take you down with ease."
"Very well then, if you insist." Replied Sword Man calmly, snapping his fingers and having a force field appear that locked everyone, save for Blake, Cardin, Weiss, Jaune and Rock out of the arena created by the force field.
"Hey, what gives?" Asked Rock.
"I wish to fight fairly." Said Sword Man.
"How very gentlemanly of you." Coco replied sarcastically.
"So why us five?" Asked Jaune.
"Simple, you, the heiress and the cat all have blades, it would make for a much more even fight. As for Rock, I wanted a rematch with him."
"But what about me?" Asked Cardin.
"I merely wanted to show you that your arrogance will be your undoing."
"But what about Fox, he has bladed weapons. And so does Yatsuhashi." Said Coco.
"My code of honour won't allow me to fight the blind, as for the other guy, I simply wished to have a proper sword fight."
"Coward." Coco replied.
"Coco, don't provoke him." Velvet said, sending a slightly disappointed glare towards her team leader.
"Regardless of how you may feel, this won't change anything." Replied Sword Man, as the people within the force field got their weapons ready for combat, as Sword Man pulled his weapon out of the ground and said "Now, let us commence." As he immediately shot the upper part of his body off his legs and began to spin around the arena, as his legs began to run around aimlessly.
Glorified Coat Rack - Sword Man
The upper body of Sword Man immediately went after Weiss who was forced to duck beneath the spinning blades in an attempt to not get shredded to pieces, as she then summoned glyph over the robot and dropped several blocks onto him, in the hope that it would deter the robot, but he simply shrugged it off and kept going. As he went after Jaune, who was able to use his shield to block the onslaught of rapid spinning blade attacks, while Rock fired several metal blades at the robot. Only for them to bounce off of him due to how rapidly the robot was spinning.
Jaune then saw an opening as Sword Man was seemingly beginning to spin less fast than before, and delivered several slashes to the robot with his sword that managed to knock the robot backwards into the centre of the arena. Where he then proceeded to spin around rapidly, as fire was beginning to form around him, which was then send around the arena in waves of fire, forcing the group to quickly dodge underneath the fire to prevent being hit by the waves of fire. Rock took this chance to quickly fire several charged shots into the legs that were still running around the arena.
But while everyone was dodging, Blake used her shadow clones to take the brunt of the fire so she could get close to Sword Man before striking him with several slashes before switching to the acid barrier and firing several acidic shots at the robot. Which made him slow down for a bit, allowing Cardin to slam his mace into the ground which released another wave of icicles that managed to pierce Sword Man. This resulted in the upper body of Sword Man returning to its lower portion of its body.
"I admire your tenacity, unfortunately, I won't allow this to go on for much longer." Said Sword Man, as he activated that speed gear and began to charged towards the group at a rapid pace, before slamming his sword down in an attempt to strike the group down. Only for his sword to get blocked by a combination of Jaune, Cardin, Blake and Weiss' efforts, as Rock took this chance to fire several metal blades to the robot. Hitting the robot, but also enraging him to the point that he began to slam his sword down repeatedly.
Resulting in Blake, Weiss and Cardin getting slammed away, as Sword Man kept slamming his sword down at a rapid speed. With each hit resulting in Jaune losing his grip over his shield, before getting knocked down to the ground, where Sword Man got ready to cleave him in two as he raised his sword over Jaune. Only for him to get distracted as Blake delivered several rapid slashes onto the robot, while Cardin slammed Sword Man into the ground with his massive sandy mace as he had used his semblance to coat his weapon in sand to make it bigger.
Weiss then followed that up by shooting several icicles from her glyphs at the robot, where she was joined by Rock who began to fire charged shots at Sword Man, who tried to get up from the ground but found himself unable to move forward much as the shots kept stunning him. So instead he coated his sword in flames and threw it towards Weiss and Rock, who with some quick thinking combined their weapons and had Rock fire a massive charged shot through one of Weiss' glyphs, creating massive icy charged shot that shot clean through the sword and shattered it to pieces.
Jaune, having gotten back up and after retrieving his weapons, saw an opening and rushed towards Sword Man. Where he together with Weiss got launched into the air through the use of one of Weiss' gravity infused glyphs and then sliced the robot into two pieces. "Well done... all of you... I most certainly enjoyed this battle... should I get repaired... I would love to have another one..." Said Sword Man, after which he exploded to pieces, leaving only his data chip behind.
The force field then vanished, as Ruby and the rest ran in, with Ruby exclaiming "Guys, that was awesome!"
Weiss smiled at the compliment and said "Thanks Ruby, I had fun with that battle." she then noticed that Jaune was picking up the memory chip and asked "Hey, what do you think you're doing?"
"Getting a new weapon, what does it look like I'm doing?" Asked Jaune.
"Well, I did play a major part in taking him down, so I should have it." Replied Weiss.
"Well so did I, and you don't even know what this weapon does." Said Jaune.
"Neither do you." Said Weiss, as she then turned to Rock and asked "What does that weapon do?"
"It gives you a flaming sword." Replied Rock.
"Wait, but you don't even have a sword. How did you make that work?" Asked Sun.
"I don't know, I just swung my buster around and poof, a sword made out of flames." Said Rock.
"Yeah, dad still hasn't figured that one out." Roll added.
"See, it gives you a flaming sword, therefore I should have it." Said Jaune.
"And why, pray tell, would that be?" Asked Weiss.
"Simple, I have seen you coat your rapier in fire several times through the use of dust."
"Still, I did land the most hits on him, and was part of the finishing blow."
"Since when is that a criteria?"
"Since always Jaune, pay attention."
"Ok, guy. Either you two sort this out peacefully, or I'm taking the weapon for myself." Said Rock.
"Stay out of this, you don't even have a sword!" Exclaimed both Jaune and Weiss.
"Or, better idea, since neither one of you is willing to give up on this. A game of rock, paper, scissors to make the decision. How does that sound?" Asked Roll, to which Jaune and Weiss nodded and got into position to play the game.
"Rock, paper, scissors shoot!" They both exclaimed, as they formed the objects with their hands, revealing that Jaune had picked scissors, while Weiss had picked paper.
"Hah, scissors beats paper, I win." Said Jaune.
"Best out of three!" Yelled Weiss.
"Hey, that wasn't in the rules." Said Ruby.
"We're doing it, best out of three." Said Weiss.
"Enough!" Yelled Rock, turning to Weiss and saying "You lost, get over it. I'm sure that you'll get another chance to obtain a new weapon, after all, I'm sure that this place is crawling with robot masters. You're also acting very immature right now."
Upon hearing the last part, Weiss closed her eyes and took a deep breath before saying "You're right, sorry about that, I got a bit too competitive about this, it was immature of me. Jaune, you can have the weapon."
"Thank you Weiss, much appreciated." Said Jaune, as he placed the weapon data on his scroll and got the message "Flame Sword obtained." Which Jaune quickly switched to and activated, leading to his sword catching fire, as Jaune looked at it with a look of awe in his eyes.
He was about to touch the fire, when Pyrrha called out to him "Jaune, don't touch that, you'll burn yourself!"
This snapped Jaune out of the daze he was in from looking at his new weapon, as he replied "Oh my bad." as he flashed Pyrrha a quick smile and then put the weapon away. Pyrrha returned the gesture by giving Jaune a sweet smile as well.
"Come on, we better get going before Wily sends more robots after us." Said Rock, to which the group nodded and then left the main area to go into a long hallway that didn't seem to be too interesting other than for a few Telly's that were floating through the air.
And so as they were walking through the hallway Coco turned to Oran and said "By the way kid, nice save earlier." to which Oran simply nodded with a proud smile on his face, she then turned to Ruby and added "Gotta say rookie, you did a pretty stellar job in creating that for him."
"Aww, thanks Coco. I always make sure to take good care of the stuff I build or upgrade." Replied Ruby.
"In that case, maybe when we get back you could give me some upgrades." Said Coco.
"I wouldn't mind that." Replied Ruby, who then felt a tug at her sleeve and noticed that Oran wanted to say something. "Something wrong buddy?"
"Why cover ears earlier?" Asked Oran.
"Oh that, sometimes, things are said that aren't meant to be heard by younger ears." Replied Ruby.
"But ra..." Oran was about to say, only to be stopped when a cough was heard coming from Ren, so he corrected himself "...ra...ramblings like that... heard it... on school grounds."
"Hmm, that so. Well, even if you did, you probably shouldn't repeat those words. They aren't good words to use." Said Ruby, as Oran nodded.
Blake then turned to Ren and said "You know Ren, don't think I didn't hear you cough. Something you wanted to say?"
"Oh no, not at all. Just needed to clear my throat is all." Ren lied, as Blake send him a glare.
Nora, noticing that, tried to steer the conversation away from the current topic and asked "You know, we have faced some interesting robots and I'm sure that Rock has also faced some strange robots in his days fighting Wily. So, what do you guys think would be the worst idea for a sentient robot master?"
"You mean as in things I have already fought, or as a hypothetical?" Asked Rock.
"It can be both." Said Nora.
"In that case, it would be making a robot that can feel pain and having that robot be a crash test dummy."
"Wasn't that the case with Bounce Man?" Asked Yang.
"It was, still not completely happy about that situation. I mean who in their right mind creates something with the ability to feel pain, and then give it the job of a crash test dummy. That's just wrong." Said Rock.
"Bit of a sore topic for you, huh?" Asked Ruby.
"What do you mean?" Asked Rock.
"Remember several days ago when you got mad at professor Lalinde after what she revealed with Tempo." Said Ruby.
"Right, didn't think about that. I guess I just feel protective over my fellow robots and how they are treated, I mean, they are given sentience and if they are mistreated they can feel it. And that's just not right." Replied Rock.
"Uhuh, and yet you're fine with fighting them to the point of destruction." Said Cardin.
"Look, I won't lie. There are times where it pains me to have to fight some of them, especially when they have been reprogrammed to be that way. But, in those cases it's either I take them out, or they take me out. Besides, you guys remember when I got infected with roboenza during the breach?" Asked Rock.
"We do, what about it?" Asked Yang.
"Say that the cure wouldn't have worked, and I would have continued doing what I did, what would you guys have done?"
"Probably would have been forced to take you out, bring you back to the lab and then had you be rebuilt without the virus." Replied Blake.
"Exactly, it was either you or me. Besides, you guys remember what I did to Pyrrha." Said Rock with a hint of guilt in his voice, as those who were in the know cringed at the memory.
"Please don't remind me off that, it wasn't a very fun experience." Said Pyrrha.
"Right, right, my bad." Said Rock.
"It's ok." Replied Pyrrha.
"Okaaaaaaaay... moving on, anyone else want to want to throw their hat in the ring?" Asked Nora.
"A fashion robot, like I just can't imagine Wily stealing one to send after you." Said Coco.
"Heh, imagine it attacking by throwing clothing hangers at you." Said Yang, as the group began to burst out laughing.
"Honestly, if that were to happen the first thing I would do when catching Wily would not be to send him to prison. But instead send him to the retirement home, because he clearly would have lost his mind by that point." Said Rock.
"Can't even imagine him in a retirement home, especially with his ramblings." Said Jaune, as he then made his voice sound like that of on old senile man and added "How dare you put me to sleep at ten, do you know who I am. I tried to take over the world many times."
"Sure you did grandpa, now let's go inside so you can take your meds." Said Nora, as she impersonated the voice of a caretaker, as the group burst out laughing.
"I can think of something even weirder, considering Wily build a robot to just hold onto a sword. Why not a robot that collects keys." Said Cardin, having managed to collect himself after the laughing fit.
"That one technically exists, there was this magazine in Atlas surrounding robotics that was really popular with kids, so they added in a section where they could make their own robot designs and send in the drawings. One of the issues had a robot called "I-Can't-Find-My-Keys Man", it was a really silly one." Said Rock.
"Hey I remember that magazine, the one issue I ever seen had a robot called fragile man, where the gimmick was that it would just fall apart. Does that magazine still exist?" Asked Weiss.
"It does, if you want to take a look at them, dad has all the monthly and weekly issues of the magazine stored on his computer." Said Rock.
"Does that mean that he has plans to use those robots?" Asked Ren.
"Oh goodness no, that would be a horrible idea." Said Rock. "I mean who would build a robot that keeps falling apart every few minutes?"
"Good point." Said Ren.
"I wouldn't mind that, despite being themed around robotics, I found the content quite amusing." Replied Weiss.
"You know, in the same vain to fragile man, I'd say a robot master that can only self destruct." Said Yatsuhashi.
"How would that work?" Asked Blake.
"Maybe it gets programmed to explode the moment it lays eyes on someone." Said Sun.
"Wouldn't that just lead to the robot exploding the moment Wily activates it for the first time?" Asked Neptune.
"Friend Neptune is right, with programming like that it would lead to something like that." Said Penny, as she was changing some of her internal programming to match those specific requirements.
"Penny, you're not doing that to yourself are you? It's ok to be curious, but there is such thing as too much curiosity." Said Ruby.
"Uh no, not at all, I have no idea what you're talking about." Said Penny, as she quickly cancelled the command and started whistling innocently as she tried to hold back a hiccup.
"For me it wouldn't really be a robot master, but rather a robotic insect or bug." Said Velvet, as she used her camera to take a photo of some of the Telly's that were flying by, while Rock got a slightly uneasy look on his face.
Yang, noticing this, asked "Something you want to tell us Rock?"
"Yeah, she's kind of right on the money. Cause I kinda... sorta... had to deal with robotic cockroaches at one point." Replied Rock, grimacing at the memory.
"It can't be that bad, right?" Asked Jaune, after which a silence followed so he added "I know they're gross, but they're just robots."
"I know, which wouldn't be an issue if they didn't attract actual cockroaches. And if those buggers get into your circuits, you're in trouble." Said Rock making Roll and Penny shiver while the rest of the group nodded in understand, as he then noticed that a robot bird carrying a large egg was flying towards them, so he quickly charged up a shot and shot it out of the air. Taking both it and the egg out, before it could drop on the ground.
"Oh look, egg sunny-side up." Joked Yang.
"Didn't know you hated eggs that much Rock." Said Ruby.
"No it's not that, those robot birds carry eggs that when dropped release a ton of smaller birds and those are usually a pain to deal with." Replied Rock.
"Kill the bird, got it." Said Nora, as she turned her hammer into a grenade launcher and shot several incoming birds out of the sky, while Velvet took pictures of some incoming bird robots before they got shot out of the sky.
"Velvet, what are you doing?" Asked Pyrrha, noticing her taking photo's.
"Oh this, just copying some of the robots for later use and also taking some photo's to show the teachers and other students." Replied Velvet.
"I'm sure that professor Oobleck would be very intrigued with those photos." Said Neptune, remembering the stories thee students were told during his classes, after which a faint 'That's Doctor Oobleck to you' was heard. "Did you guys hear that?"
"I think we all did, was pretty hard to miss." Said Yang.
"Pretty sure that we'd be able to hear him say that at the edge of the universe." Added Cardin.
"You know, with this whole little adventure into space, I'm sure that we'd be able to out-anecdote Professor Port." Said Sun.
"You sure?" Asked Jaune.
"Yeah, think about it, sharing tales of our heroics when he makes up another story during his lectures." Said Sun.
"I think that some of those tales might be true." Added Weiss.
"Pretty sure that he has an addiction to spinning tall tales during his lectures as much as Doctor Oobleck is addicted to coffee and Professor Ozpin is addicted to hot cocoa." Said Sun, as Fox shivered.
"Ugh, don't remind me." Fox whispered, as the rest of the group gave him an odd look.
"He always has to listen to recorded versions of lectures from the teachers to study, unfortunately due to Professor Ports habit of throwing in anecdotes, it usually takes three times as long for Fox to get through all the stuff from Professor Ports class." Said Yatsuhashi, while Velvet patted Fox on the back.
"Oh that's right, I completely forgot about you guys telling us that." Said Weiss.
"Don't worry, I fully get it. I had to do the same when I came back, it wasn't fun to have to go through his lectures." Said Rock, at which Fox perked up a bit.
"Finally, someone who understands my pain!" Fox exclaimed, while Rock let out a good hearted chuckle. As the group continued walking through the hallway, making sure to take out any flying enemies that were flying overhead, until finally they reached a large open ended room with numbers plastered all over the walls and a lot of gaps in the floor. Rock took a quick look at the numbers, and tried to remember where he had seen them before.
But he didn't have much time to think it over, as Nora had tried to jump to another platform, but instead had started floating in the air before ending up stuck on the ceiling. "Woah, this is so weird. You're all stuck on the ceiling." Said Nora.
The group's focused then shifted from Nora to Rock as they all gave him questioning looks. "Right, it would seem that Wily has installed rooms in here that can change the gravity." Rock explained.
"Sounds like you've dealt with them before." Said Ruby.
"Couple times, they can either increase or decrease the gravity. For now they seem to decrease the gravity, but we should still be careful." Said Rock, as he then noticed that Oran was now also floating through the air. "Oran, I just told you to be careful." Said Rock.
"Whooooo... I'm flying, this is fun..." Oran cheered, as he was doing several spins in the air before landing on the ceiling and being caught by Nora.
"See Rock, everything is fine." Said Nora.
"Hmmm, I have a bad feeling about this." Rock thought to himself, as he saw that there were a ton of bottomless pits in the floor of the room, as well as spike pits. But he quickly pushed his worries aside when he saw that the rest of the group began to jump between the floor and the ceiling, with Coco making sure to hold onto Fox to ensure he wouldn't fall into a pit or miss a jump.
So, without much worries he started to move through the room, occasionally jumping between to the ceiling and back when needed. That was until he saw Jaune swimming past him in the air, making him ask "How are you doing that?"
"It's easy, you just gotta find the right area between the two gravitational pulls where you're completely weightless. Right now I'm walking on air." Replied Jaune, as Pyrrha had joined him and the two were now floating through the room together.
Ruby, having landed next to Rock, grabbed his arm and pulled him into the weightless area of the room. Making Rock exclaim "Wah... Ruby what are you doing?"
"You seemed worried, so come on, float with me through zero gravity." Said Ruby, as she started to mimic a bicycle in the air. While Rock turned around and saw that a group consisting of Yang, Blake, Ren, Nora, Velvet, Cardin, Penny and Roll were playing a game of volleyball with a makeshift ball made of the bounce ball that Blake had summoned, as he saw that the rest of the group had joined him in zero gravity. "Talk to me Rock, what's wrong?" Ruby asked, as she floated in front of Rock, and noticed a worried look on his face.
"I'm concerned."
"You're always concerned Rock, you got to be a bit more specific than that."
"It's just that... I'm worried about what could happen. This isn't the first time I've encountered rooms that could change the gravity, and just in general I'm worried about the things that are in here."
"Maybe, instead of worrying about what could happen and about what could end up going wrong, you focus on the present. Besides, we're all here with you, if something goes wrong we'll help you out."
"And it's not that I don't appreciate that, I'm very happy that you all wanted to come out into space with me. Just with everything that has happened so far, and the amount of times I've fought Wily. I will always worry about the people I care about."
"And that's what makes you human Rock."
"But, I'm a robot."
"No not like that, I know that you're a robot. I mean in terms of how you act and care for others, it's what makes you, you. I've said this to Penny when I first learned about her origins, but just because you're made of metal, doesn't mean you're any less real than I am. You were given the ability to think for yourself, to feel, to learn and you choose it fight for what is right. Sure you worry about us, but being caring is in your nature Rock. It's what I like so much about you." Said Ruby, making Rock slightly blush.
"Thanks... Ruby." Replied Rock, still feeling slightly flustered over the compliment. "I will say, one thing I admire about you is that even when things seem tough you keep going with your head held high, and unwavering determination."
"Aww, that's so sweet. Come here you." Said Ruby, as she pulled Rock into a kiss that lasted a few seconds before she let go and said "I will say, I'm glad Doctor Light decided to make you out of the material you're currently made off rather than make you out of steel. You'd feel a lot colder if you were."
"I believe dad once told me that it was some kind of special polymer, but he never went much deeper into the details. Although, Doctor Wily did claim that he made Bass out of a super rare element called Bassnium, so maybe I'm made out Rocknium." Said Rock.
"That sounds made up, like he tried to one up Doctor Light by making it seem like his newest creation was more special than you." Said Ruby.
"A lot of things he says sound made up, although it would explain Bass' superiority complex." Replied Rock, after which he got hit by a bounce ball. So he turned around, and was met with several apologetic looks from the rest of the group.
"Sorry about that Rock, we didn't mean to ruin your moment, Cardin can't aim." Said Yang.
"I would have been able to aim, had someone taken a better shot." Replied Cardin sarcastically.
"Says the one who used his mace on the ball." Yang shot back.
"So were you, you used your gauntlets to hit the ball. I only returned the favour." Said Cardin.
"In fairness, we had all been using our weapons. So it's not like it was entirely his fault." Said Coco.
"Guys, it's fine. I'm not upset about it, just next time be a bit more careful about it." Replied Rock, after which his attention was taken away by a nearby hatch opening in the ceiling as several Mets wearing spacesuits and jetpacks flew into the room.
Upon seeing them, Ruby gasped audibly and exclaimed "Oh my gosh, they're adorable. Look at them, and their tiny little jetpacks!" To which the Mets replied by getting angry looks on their faces and having mini guns appear from their mouths.
"Well, they've certainly had an upgrade." Said Rock.
"Never mind, they're not cute anymore!" Ruby yelled, as she and the rest aimed their weapons at the Mets as they began to fly through the room at a rapid speed, while shooting pellets from their mouths. Which became difficult to dodge due to the gravity messing with their movement speed. So instead of trying to dodge them while floating through the air, they instead moved towards the ceiling where they were able to dodge the artillery fire much easier.
So Velvet, while also making photo's of the robots, fired several thunder beams from her camera while Coco didn't even bother to have her mini gun form from her purse, so instead she started to use her purse to smack several of the flying Mets out of the air. Ruby made use of the scramble thunder to take out more of them, while Jaune and Pyrrha used their shields to block the fired shots from the Mets.
But while the rest of the group was fighting off the Mets, Rock noticed that more of them were flying into the room from the ceiling. Making him have a pretty good idea of where they might be coming from. So, switching to the power gear and charging up the mega buster, he rushed over to the hole in the ceiling and fired into it. Causing a massive explosion that stopped more Mets from spawning from it, only for Yang to have to quickly take him out of the way as the resulting destruction led to something falling from the ceiling.
Smoke formed around the room as the group carefully examined what had fallen out of the ceiling, as it then started to move around, making the smoke clear as it revealed a Giant Metall floating in front of them. As it then began to quickly move around the room, firing spread shots at the group forcing them to duck to avoid getting hits by the shots. Yang then rushed in and while using the blazing torch gave the Giant Metall a massive fiery uppercut, after which it got caught in Weiss' gravity dust infused glyph which knocked it into the ground, where Cardin hit it with an Ice Wave that managed to pierce through it's underside.
A combination of shots from Rock's with a charge shot, Sun with homing missiles, Oran firing arrows at the robot, Ruby using the scramble thunder and Nora firing thunder bolts from her hammer then hit the Giant Metall square in the face and made it explode upon impact. But before the group could even celebrate at their victory, Rock felt as if something was wrong, as if something within the very room they were in had changed.
But before he could warn anyone about the change he felt, his suspicions were confirmed when he felt that the force of the gravity within the room had doubled, before it tripled, leading to everyone in the room to get pressed onto the ground and become unable to move. The only ones who were still left standing were Rock, Penny and Roll, whose attention was caught the moment they heard footsteps enter the room, where they saw that Gravity Man was standing in the doorway.
"Gravity Man." Rock growled, feeling anger at being caught like this.
"Ah Mega Man, good to see you again after all this time." Replied Gravity Man, with a slightly bored tone in his voice.
"What did you do to us? I can't seem to move." Said Rock.
"Ah that, Wily upgraded me from merely being able to change someone's gravitational pull, to being able to increase or decrease the force of gravity in an entire room. Honestly, he didn't need to do that for me. I was much more content with merely studying physics, but Wily insisted saying that he could scrap me and turn my into his newest coffee maker. So I obliged." Replied Gravity Man, who then increased the gravitational pull on the group once more, making them all scream out in pain. Gravity Man then pulled out his notepad and started to make some notes on what he saw.
"What are you doing to them!" Rock exclaimed.
"Merely taking notes on the effects of increased gravity, I could have taken you all to Wily immediately but I first wanted to see what would happen if gravity were to be increased on them. And so far it seems that none of their aura's have shattered, but on the plus side, you and your sister are unable to move. Though that does make me wonder why she is still standing." Replied Gravity Man.
"She's also a robot, made by dad and someone else." Replied Rock.
"Hmm, very interesting, I wonder how long it will take before you all crack under pressure." Said Gravity Man, increasing the force of the gravity once more, which caused Oran to scream out in pain.
"Kid no!" Nora yelled.
"Wait... don't do this... he's just a child... his aura isn't as strong as ours." Ruby struggled to say.
Gravity Man sighed in annoyance and said "Very well then, I'll dial it back for him, the rest of you aren't so lucky. Time for for six times the gravitational pull." Making the whole group wince as they felt the pressure begin to build up on them. "Hmm, nothing yet it seems, let's see what happens when I double it to twelve times the gravity you're used to." As the group then felt a massive increase in gravitational force on them, as Gravity Man noticed that their aura's began to flicker just a bit.
"Ok, now it seems that we're getting somewhere with these results. I'm now going to increase your gravity to the point that your aura's break, feel free to scream when it starts to hurt." Said Gravity Man, as with every second that passed the gravity increased more and more, as Rock, Roll and Penny could do nothing but watch as they were unable to move to get to him.
However, internally, Penny was going through all of her programs to see if there was anything she could do at the moment. Which became even more urgent when the she heard Ruby begin to scream in pain as the gravity had increased to twenty five and the aura's of everyone began to flicker rapidly. Showing that they could give in at any moment, so searching even more frantically than before Penny finally found an option that might help.
She activated it, and found herself able to move again, as she then activated the jets in her feet and flew towards Gravity Man as fast as possible and delivered a rapid punch that knocked him into a wall. Which took away his focus and turned the gravity back to normal right before the aura would break. Allowing the group to move freely again, while Penny focused on Gravity Man.
"How did you escape my grasp?" Asked Gravity Man.
"I found a program that allowed me to nullify the gravitational effects placed on, that's how I did this." Replied Penny, as she pressed the robot into a wall.
Gravity Manipulator - Gravity Man
"Hmm, very interesting, I will certainly be looking through those programs of you, after I turn you to scrap metal." Said Gravity Man, as he changed the gravity on himself, which allowed him to slip out of Penny's grasp. Where he then ended up on the ceiling, as he shouted to Penny "Try to catch me, girly." Penny then flew after the robot, with Gravity Man changing gravity on himself to launch himself at Penny, allowing him to punch her in the face at a rapid speed that nearly led to Penny getting punched out of the air.
But she then launched her blades into the ceiling and used he ropes attached to her blades launch herself into the air where she would intercept Gravity Man who had tried to once again change gravity on himself. But due to being caught, Penny was able to grab onto him and use the change in momentum to her advantage where she would throw him into the ground. Making the robot wince in pain when he landed onto the floor, and was then barely able to dodge roll out of the way as Penny fired one of her blades towards him.
The blade got stuck into the ground, but Gravity Man was forced to dodge once again as multiple blades were now being shot into the ground. He managed to dodge all of them, but unfortunately found them blocking his path, meaning that his only way out was up. But looking up he found that Penny had used one of her blades to stick herself to the ceiling while the rest of her blades were circling in front of her, where she then prepared to fire a massive laser towards Gravity Man.
The laser hit, creating a massive crater in the ground, but to Penny's surprise Gravity Man had survived, as he was now attempting to crawl out of the crater. So Penny flew over to the robot and asked "Are you ok?" Only for Gravity Man to give her an evil smirk, as he changed the gravity on some of the spikes around the room and fired them at Penny at a rapid speed. Forcing Penny to dodge out of the way as she didn't feel like getting impaled by the spikes after hearing the stories from Rock as to what they could do.
A few seconds later, and several spikes having been dodged and now sticking out of the walls, Penny looked around and saw that Gravity Man had once again tried to launch himself at Penny. Only this time Penny managed to catch him in her arms, as she then said to him "That wasn't very nice of you."
"Heh, newsflash girly. I'm not nice, so why would you worry about me?" Asked Gravity Man, as he began to stall while changing gravity on several objects in the room.
"Because we're both robots." Replied Penny.
"How naive of you." Replied Gravity Man, as he had used his gravity manipulation on the spikes imbedded in the walls and tried to launch them into Penny's back. Only for Penny to immediately notice, as she then threw Gravity Man into the ground, as she switched to the Fire Storm and gave a fiery effect to her blades as they were being spun around rapidly before the spikes could hit her. Which resulted in them all being melted and falling into the ground.
Penny then looked over at where she had thrown Gravity Man, and then threw her flaming blades at him. Only for Gravity Man to change the gravity on the blades, resulting in them being launched into a nearby wall. But what he didn't anticipate was Penny following that feint attack up with a punch to the face, as she had launched herself to the robot. Who then got flung into the air, where he then saw two spinning blades get thrown at him.
These blades had the Fire Storm and the Ice Slasher on them, but before he even had a chance to try and change gravity, the blades cut straight through him. However, before exploding, he looked at Penny and said "Guess you weren't as naive as I thought." as he then exploded and dropped his memory chip on the ground. Penny went over to it, absorbed it and got the message "Gravity Hold Obtained." And once she switched to it, she felt that as long as she was using it she could affect the gravity on any area that was affected.
But before she could try it out for herself, Penny found herself getting tackled into a hug by Ruby, so she switched back to her normal appearance and returned the hug as she asked "Ruby, are you ok?"
"Yeah, we're fine now, thanks to you that is." Replied Ruby, as she released Penny from her hug.
"You really saved our bacon." Said Sun, as he was leaning on Blake for support.
"Friend Sun, my sensors indicate something is wrong with your knees." Said Penny.
"Oh that, must have just landed on it wrong." Replied Sun, as he tried to hide his pained expression.
"One moment I'm on it." Said Jaune, as he kneeled down to heal Sun's knees.
"Dude, you don't have to do this for me." Said Sun.
"Nonsense, hurting your knees isn't fun, for anyone really. Besides, I'm happy to help." Replied Jaune.
"How much to have you join our team as our healer?" Asked Sun.
"More money than you could probably think of." Replied Jaune, as Sun nodded in understanding.
"Say, Jaune, since you're busy. Think you could do me as well, my backs killing me." Said Yang, as Ren then moved over to her very silently and delivered several strikes to her back. Making Yang exclaim "Ren what the hec... Hey you fixed it, it's feeling better now. What did you do?"
"I simply pressed several pressure points on your back, you shouldn't be having any issues with it in the near future." Replied Ren.
"You're a lifesaver." Said Yang.
"Trust me, Ren's has helped our team out a ton by pressing our pressure points, whenever we needed it." Said Jaune.
"Really now." Said Yang.
"Ren's ours! You can't have him on your team!" Exclaimed Pyrrha, much to the surprise of everyone.
"Shouldn't Nora have said that?" Asked Velvet.
"Trust me Velvet, Pyrrha has needed it the most." Replied Nora, making everyone sweat drop. But while they were focused on that, Ruby noticed that Oran was lying on the ground.
She walked over to him, gave him a nudge and asked "Oran, you alright?"
"Everything... hurts..." Replied Oran, making Ruby frown at hearing that.
"Jaune, think you can help him?" Asked Ruby, as she saw that Jaune was done with Sun.
"Sure I can, get on little man." Replied Jaune, as he picked Oran up and put him on his back, to give him a piggyback ride.
"Gotta say, impressive that he managed to hold out for so long under the increased gravity before it got to him." Said Cardin.
"You going soft Winchester?" Asked Coco.
Cardin scoffed at the question and replied "Course not, what makes you say that?"
"Oh nothing, just been noticing that you've been more willing to help out, and been acting less like a jerk to others." Said Coco.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Said Cardin, as he then left the room through the main door.
"Sure you don't, tsundere." Said Coco, as she walked after him out of the room. With the rest of the group quickly following after the duo.
"Wrong again, that's Weiss."
"I take offence to that."
"Oh look, proving my point already." Said Cardin, as Weiss rolled her eyes. As the group continued to walk through a long hallway, where they walked past posters on the walls which read "Big Wily is watching you." "Obey your programming." "Free will is a curse." while failing to notice any of the camera's that were watching them.
"Well, it's good to know what kind of empire Wily plans to make." Said Yang, as the group then arrived at the end of the hallway, where they found a large door that had Wily's face on it, as well as a keyboard and four different empty key holes, but to their surprise there were five extra hallways that seemed to be leading away from the door.
"So, want to just bust down the door and take the easy way to Wily?" Asked Nora.
"Sounds good to me." Replied Yang, as both girls got their weapons ready and then struck the door as hard as they could. Only for it to do nothing, as Nora and Yang were flung backwards from the force of their attacks being returned to them. Pyrrha then stepped up, and tried to use her semblance to rip the door off of it's hinges, but even she found herself unable to do anything to the door.
"Honestly, this is just sad to watch." Said a voice, as a light blue robot with a green mane appeared behind the group.
"Hello there, Terra." Said Rock, as he aimed his buster at the stardroid.
"Having trouble making it past this measly door, Mega Man?" Asked Terra, with an arrogant tone in his voice.
"So what if we are, here to mock us about it?" Asked Sun.
"Kind of was, oh well, now I don't feel like it anymore." Said Terra, as he then fired a laser from his arm cannon which hit Rock. Only for Rock to switch to the Power Gear, and return a massive charged shot towards Terra. Which hit the robot, and made him kneel over from the damage done to him, as Terra had a shocked expression on his face.
"Impossible, he told me that you didn't have the upgrade for your buster on you!" Exclaimed Terra.
"Guess he didn't give you the full story." Replied Rock.
"You know, I just came here to stop you guys from going any further and to tell you that to enter the door you would either find the four keys scattered across the five hallways or have you guess the password. But you know what, screw this, I'm outta here. I can't compete against a buster like yours." Said Terra, as he teleported away.
"Rock, are you going to go after him?" Asked Blake.
"No, I'm sure that Wily has put up something prevent me from going after him." Replied Rock.
"And it's probably going to take us a while to find those keys." Said Ruby.
"Well, guessing the password it is then." Added Roll.
"Allow me." Said Penny, as she then cracked her robotic knuckles and began to very rapidly press the numbers on the keypad. After a few minutes of typing and an uncountable number of rejected tries, Penny stopped and said "Well, I tried."
"What did you do?" Asked Roll.
"Typed in every number between one and googolplex, when that failed I tried to write Pi with the first thousand digits, when that failed I tried every number between negative one and negative googolplex, then I tried fractions, then I tried dividing by zero and then I tried Wily's birthday." Replied Penny.
"Wait, what's a Googolplex?" Asked Yatsuhashi.
"A one that is followed by a hundred zeroes." Said Rock, Roll and Penny at the same time, making the group give them a look of disbelief.
"That's a lot of zeroes." Said Neptune.
"Glad I decided against taking higher level math as an option." Jaune muttered under his breath.
Blake hearing this replied "Don't worry, we don't even remotely deal with numbers that high."
"Yeah, we only go up to numbers with ninety zeroes." Weiss replied dryly, making her on the receiving end of some odd looks. "What?"
"Was that a joke Ice Queen?" Asked Coco.
"I'm not that uptight." Said Weiss.
"Regardless, if numbers fail, time to guess the password with words." Said Yang ignoring Coco and Wess, as she walked over to the control panel and started typing. But after several minutes of failures she said "Ok, lets see what else there is, Robot Master, world domination, world conquest, Doctor Wily rules, Doctor Wily sucks, Wily69..."
"Yang don't be so immature." Said Nora, as she took over from the control panel. "Obviously it's Wily420." When that option failed, Nora tried a couple more times, until "One more try, Wily will never ever be able to take over the world no matter how many times he tries." And to her surprise the door started to open, only for it immediately close again as Nora exclaimed "Hey, what gives!"
It was then that Wily's voice was heard over one of the loudspeaker "I don't know how that one got there, but it shouldn't have been there. But while you guys keep guessing I'm going to turn the one responsible for this into scrap metal." After which the loudspeaker turned off.
Penny frowned at hearing what Wily had said, so she went over to the side of the control panel, opened up her finger revealing a usb stick and stuck it into usb port while the rest of the group continued guessing passwords until Rock stepped to start making guesses. But after a bit Rock said "Well, I tried all the robot master names, i'm going to keep trying."
"Now I've got your power."
"Password denied." As a fist appeared from a hidden compartment and punched Rock in the face, but it left him undeterred.
"Spare me, I'm just a helpless old man."
"Password denied."
"Somehow every time, somehow every time you lose, you can't defeat air man."
"Password denied."
"JUMP! JUMP! SLIDE! SLIDE!"
"Password denied."
"When we fine dat meteah, we'ww find Doctah Wahwee."
"Password denied."
"Rock, you can stop now." Said Penny, as she took her finger out of the usb port.
"Huh?" Rock asked.
"I figured out what was going on with the password by hacking into the control panel." Said Penny.
"Shouldn't that mean you'd be able to get the door to open for us?" Asked Cardin.
"Unfortunately not, the door and the password system were programmed in such a way that it changes every second." Replied Penny.
"Does that mean that I got lucky?" Asked Nora.
"Pretty much." Replied Penny, as she patted Nora on the head.
"Well, guess we have no other option but to go hunting for those keys." Said Ruby.
"In that case, let's split up gang." Said Yang.
"Huh?" Jaune asked, as he placed Oran on the ground, feeling that the boy had been healed up enough for now.
"There are five hallways, and about nineteen of us here." Said Yang.
"She's not wrong, splitting up would be for the best." Said Ren.
"You know, I think this would be a good little exercise for you rookies." Said Coco.
"What do you mean?" Asked Rock.
"Learning to work with different people from the people you are in a team with, after all, while we are trying to stop a madman from taking over the world we are still in a school to learn about hunting down Grimm. This is something that gets touched upon in a later year." Said Coco.
"Let me guess, Professor Goodwitch put you up to this?" Asked Yang.
To which Coco got a sheepish look on her face, which she hid behind her glasses, as she composed herself she said "I have no idea what you're talking about, I'm just trying to help you first years get a bit ahead with skills you'll end up learning later on."
"Liar." Cardin muttered from under his breath.
"Congratulations Winchester, you're stuck with me." Replied Coco, as Cardin cursed from underneath his breath.
"I think it's a great idea, how do you want us to divide ourselves?" Asked Weiss.
"I'd say, me, Penny, Roll, Rock and Jaune each form their own team." Said Coco.
"This reminds me, did everyone get their earpieces?" Asked Rock, to which the rest of the group nodded.
"Took them with us on the ship, oh captain, my captain." Said Nora.
"Wait, hold on a minute, why do I have to lead?" Asked Jaune, with a hint of uncertainty in his voice.
"Something wrong Arc, I thought you had experience leading." Replied Coco.
"I know, it's just because we formed at initiation and we've been a well oiled machine ever since. And because of that things have been going so well." Jaune explained.
"I see, all the more reason to practice." Said Coco, after which Fox, Yang and Yatsuhashi.
"Don't worry man, with us here to guide you nothing will go wrong." Said Yatsuhashi.
"Oh ok, and what about you?" Asked Jaune to Yang.
"Little ol' me is just here to mess with you, that's all." Replied Yang, making Pyrrha glare at the blonde, as Yang replied "Don't worry, you'll get him back in one piece."
"Not very reassuring." muttered Pyrrha.
"Well then, let's go Team JYYF (JoYYFul)." Said Yang, as she pulled Jaune into one of the hallways, while Fox and Yatsuhashi followed after them, with the latter having an apologetic look on his face.
Then Neptune, Pyrrha and Weiss went over to Penny, as Penny said to them "I promise, I won't disappoint you."
"I don't think you will, I'm sure that you'll be fine." Said Weiss.
"Thanks, what should we call ourselves?" Asked Penny.
"Team pancakes!" Nora yelled.
"Nora, you're not even on this team." Weiss scolded.
"That actually doesn't sound too bad." Said Pyrrha.
"How would it work?" Asked Weiss.
"I could see it work as it being as Team PPNS." Said Neptune.
"Huh, I actually can see that work. Team PPNS (PPaNcakeS), time to go." Said Weiss, as she and her team left and went into one of the hallways. After which Velvet, Ren and Nora joined Roll, making her get a slightly nervous look on her face.
"Are you ok with leading?" Asked Ren, noticing the nervousness.
"Yeah, it's fine. Just gotta believe in myself is all." Replied Roll.
"First time leading?" Asked Nora.
"Yeah, but also Rock usually goes out and fights Wily. I'm not very combat oriented, I'll go out and fight if I have to. But it's always quite nerve racking."Said Roll, as Rock then placed a hand on her shoulder.
"I have faith in your abilities to lead and to get through, now have faith in yourself." Said Rock.
Roll nodded and said "I will, don't worry."
"Good, that's all I need to hear." Replied Rock.
"She'll be fine with us." Said Velvet.
"Yeah, yeah, I'll be fine." Replied Roll, as she then said "Ok, let's go Team RLSN (RattLeSNake)."
"What, Team RLSN, really?" Asked Nora.
"It's the first thing that came to mind." Replied Roll.
"I think it's pretty nice." Said Ren, as the group then took off into another hallway. As Sun and Blake then joined the team of Coco and Cardin.
"I guess that just leaves Ruby and the kid with Rock, not very surprising." Said Coco.
"I do have the most experience, so I'm sure it will be fine." Said Rock.
"If you say so, good luck rookies. Let's get out of here Team CBWW (CrossBoWW)." Said Coco.
"Good luck you three, stay safe." Said Blake, as she and her team went into another hallway. Leaving the trio on their own.
"So, you really wanted to spend some alone time with me, huh?" Asked Rock with a smooth tone in his voice, as he stared deeply and lovingly into Ruby's silver eyes.
"Oh Rock I don't mind this side of you, what gave you that idea though?" Replied Ruby.
"Waiting until everyone was gone to make choice."
"Very observant of you."
"I was always quite observant."
"You don't mind me joining you... right?"
"My love, I enjoy the company." Said Rock, as he was about to kiss Ruby on the mouth when they were both interrupted by Oran.
"Ugh... gross romance..." he said, making both Rock and Ruby blush in embarrassment.
"Oh sorry buddy, forgot you were there." Said Rock, still feeling embarrassed. Which wasn't the only thing that made them blush, as their earpieces turned on as well.
"Oh, I didn't need to hear that." "Why, just why!" "Those were some bold moves you two." "Get a room you two." "Aww, it was just getting good." "NORA!"
"Our earpieces were already turned on, how much did you guys hear?" Asked Ruby, as she quickly took out the earpiece in Oran's ears.
"Everything, take a lesson from this. When you don't want people to hear your conversations, turn off your earpieces." Said Coco through the earpieces.
"Yeah, don't worry we got that." Replied Rock, as some people on the other end started to turn off their earpieces.
"By the way, Rock remember if you so much as taint my cute and innocent little sister, I will turn you to scrap metal and fix my bike with it." Said Yang.
"Wasn't planning on it." Replied Rock.
"Good, but even if you crazy kids were planning on going further, be sure to protection. Anyways, have fun, but not too much fun. Toodles." Said Yang, as she turned off her connection on her earpiece.
"And that is my cue to leave as well." Said Blake, turning off her connection, as Rock, Ruby and Oran were left on their own.
"You two are gross." Said Oran.
"Oh come now, love is only natural." Said Rock.
"By the way, you feeling better after earlier? No more pain from the increased gravity and the likes?" Asked Ruby, to which Oran shook his head as to say no, so she replied "Good to hear bud, then let's go and face uncertain danger." As the trio went into the last remaining hallway.
