Lucy's POV:
"Princess! Your father requests your presence in the library." Turning around to face one of her father's servants she let out a soft smile. "Alright, lead me there then." Following the small girl to the library she couldn't help but start wondering what her father would want to talk to her about. 'Father has already talked to me about the wedding, and I've recounted it 10 times to make sure we'll get the proper amount of blood supply for the Spring season.'
They eventually pulled to a stop in front of two large blue doors, each with different amounts of gold designs on it. The servant bowed to her before moving aside to let her enter. Taking a deep breath she nodded to the guards to open the doors to let her in.
Upon entering, she knew nothing good could come of this meeting. Her father had his advisors surrounding him, each of them talking in hushed whispers. Softly clearing her throat, she spoke in a low tone, "Father, you wanted to see me?" The hushed whispers ceased as each stood straight and turned to face her. As they bowed to her, she did a low curtsy. "You're dismissed." Jude announced to his advisors, each dukes or lords to their own respective areas. Stepping out of the way to let them by, she tried to take a look into each one's face. It wasn't an easy task, as they were technically not allowed to raise their heads in front of royalty in such a casual way. Though, she could tell each had their mind on something, and if she had to guess, it was the same thing her father wanted to talk to her about.
After the doors closed behind them she calmly walked over to stand in front of her fathers desk. "Yes, father?" The moment he looked up, she couldn't help but let out a small gasp. One, his eyes were blood red, meaning he hadn't drank in blood for awhile now. Two, this was the most emotion she had seen in his eyes in ages. Three, the emotion wasn't good. It was a mixture of sadness, heartbreak, fear, and a tiredness that looked like it would never go away.
"Lucy, we need to have a talk." the way her father looked into her eyes while he said this, gave her a fear she never thought possible. She nodded as she sat down, alerting him that she was ready to be told. "What is it father?" Standing up, Jude turned his back to her, facing the widow that overlooked the city outside the castle gate. "The soldiers at the North gate of the kingdom alerted us this evening that the Fiore Kingdom is planning an attack on us, meaning war. This is very sudden, and nobody is sure why they are claiming war, as we have not been in contact or even traded with them in 5 centuries. However, now that we know about the threat, we have to ready our weapons and people. As well as the blood supply we'll need to feed each soldier and get them back in good condition if they are hurt." Her father continued to stand there silently with his back to her while she tried to make sense of what her father told her. They hadn't been in war in years, not once while she was alive at the very least. Narrowing her eyes, she spoke once again. "I understand Father. But, what does that have to do with me? I may be the one to gather the blood supply, but the rest of this isn't something you'd usually tell me. What is going on?"
Sighing, her father turned around to look her in the eye once again, but did not move to sit down. "Clever, just like your mom. Lucy, my dear, you have a lot to do with this. Sadly, I can't deal with war again. I dealt with it once in my life, and I'm too far gone to continue. You'll be passed on the crown sooner than we thought. You won't fully be queen, as you have not yet found the kingdom's future king." She stood up quickly and went to fire back at him, "Father! You know I can't do this! I haven't had any training at all. This is absurd-". Jude Heartfilia quickly slammed his hand down on the table making her silent. "Princess Lucy Heartfilia, you will take this position! You have no choice, the kingdom is counting on you!" While she let tears slowly fall down her face, he unrolled a scroll he had on his table, and took the royal stamp. "Princess Lucy Heartfilila, you are hereby taking the position of Queen within reason of power. You are royally declared this and shall be represented as such the moment you leave this room." The moment he put the stamp down on the paper, stamping it with the royal sign, she knew she had no choice. She just let the tears fall as she considered what to do next.
